Hey guys! Glad youre enjoying it. As always, any corrections are here in the pinned comment.
#1 twice I show the ad for the G1, refering to it as the "first samsung smartphone". It is the first android, but was not produced by samsung. My bad guys.
commenting to hopefully play a part in boosting engagement! Also going back to the short i came here from to do the same. First time watching you and you do one hell of a job at this youtube thing, was surprised to not see at LEAST 1.5m subs. great work man!!
Thanks my dude! I'm glad the short is working lol.
Very informative video! It’s crazy that the battery would just get punctured and explode like that. And adding a battery that was made before the problem was noticed was so weird lol
Honestly kinda shady yeah.
The quality of these videos is just insane. You outdo yourself!
Happy to be here. It's only getting better.
Unpopular opinion - the Note 7 was really good but not the undisputed #1 of 2016 like people claim. 2016 was maybe the most competitive year in phones we ever had. One the one hand there were a lot of high-end phones with just as good or even better features and specs like the LG V20, Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro and Google Pixel XL. Meanwhile on the midrange (~400) there were so many phones that got you 95% of the experience like the Honor 8, Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Oneplus 3 and 3T and ZTE Axon 7.
Yeah it's debatable. It had most the stuff other people had, except from a "trusted" brand and the s pen. That's my understanding from my research, it generally worked better (until it didn't) people are still hanging onto theirs, just look at the comments on this video.
I actually enjoyed the note 7 a little at phone stores and Costco and I thought it was a very good looking and fun phone to. I almost thought about getting one until this happened. Its unfortunate this phone had a lot of potential to be one of the best selling phones of all times. I miss it to this day
Yeah totally.
Informative as always, short and directly to the point! Good job!
Thanks my guy!
i saw this video and thought it would at least have 100,000 views because of the quality, keep doing what your doing, you have massive potential
Thanks dude!
SUBSCRIBED... Quality video man. I'm onboard to watch your journey to the top
Thanks my dude. I got 3 other videos in this style and many more to come!
Your channel, sir, is on its way to success. Top-notch storytelling and production. Best of luck and keep it up🦾
Thanks my dude. You're the best!
You, my friend, have the potential to become a top tech youtube in the upcoming years.
Trust me the algorithm will recognize you and your content will get millions of views due to its top notch quality.
Thanks dude! Means a lot.
It's worth noting just how much of a colossal fuckup this really was. Some say the original Galaxy Note was the first truly _modern_ smartphone, as every phone before it had an extremely tiny 3-4 inch display. It was the first phone to have a modern shape and size -- I mean hell, the iPhones 6 through 8 that came out just a few years later, lifted a large amount of their overall shape and look from the original Note. It's the _reason_ phones nowadays are gigantic, and partly why "small phones" failed to sell, no matter how much the ASUS Zenfone 9 and iPhone 13 mini tried to keep the small phone alive.
And then they blew up.
Couldn't have said it better myself
I remember this debacle --- great video and loved going back in time a few years cheers )
Thanks my dude! You're the best.
Was thinking on making a video about this, you did it better then me. Kudos to you!
Thanks dude! Id still love to see your take on the story.
Bro when i saw you sub count i thought it was bugged. keep up the good work
Thanks dude!
Great review great work ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks my dude.
there was even a mode for GTA V where you can throw Note 7 as Sticky bombs i think it was, very hilarious
Yeah lol I've seen that
and after the discontinuation of the Note 7, they added the Coral Blue Color specifically for the Note 7 to the S7 Edge Series
Oh sick. Its a cool color!
I just realized your subs really grew it was like me and and few other people here 🎉 🥳🎂
Hey man you're an OG. Thanks for being here!
I saw this device since the beginning. First we thought it was just some units, but it has never stopped and it was even illegal to use it in a plane for example. I remember they created a FE version with the issues fixed. Like he said on the video.
Great video 👍
Thanks dude!
Great storytelling dude
Thanks dude!
At the time, I really wanted that phone so bad because of that s pen and the blue color which was and is so awesome. Unfortunately, it was apparently just too expensive for me as a student back then.
So sad that it didn’t go well in the market
Yeah minus the explosions it was a great phone.
I actually have the original Galaxy Note7 and a Galaxy Note FE. The Note7 battery has started swelling in the last few months, but more because of aging rather than the faults.
Yeah all Samsung batteries do that. I beg you. Put that phone somewhere fireproof. It will explode. It is a matter of time. Sell it while you can. You're asking for trouble.
@@owencooktech I wouldn't sell it, it's probably best recycled.
Forget a aftermarket battery if you are into repairing phones you've seen that one Australian dude that did it I forgot the TH-camrs name@@owencooktech
It caught a plane floor on fire here in my city, Louisville KY! 😂 All hell broke loose after that
Yeah no kidding. That's wild.
Nice video, especially nice from a channel this small. I hope the youtube algorithm blesses you more, you've earned sub from me, keep up the good work :)
Thanks my dude! It means a lot.
Ive had the Note FE and it really was the best interms of design. I would daily drive it anytime if it receives updated hardware and software.
Yeah dude that's awesome
How is your voice that deep 😮 Regardless, great video!
Lol thanks. Idk the crazy part is I'm only 16. Probably just cuz I'm so big.
So basically why the phones battery exploded is because due to the design flaws the anode made contact with the cathode when that happens thermal runaway happens when thermal runaway happens boom when designing a lithium ion battery it is absolutely important that the anode does not make any contact with the Cathode this is a reason why electric car battery fires are much harder to put out due to thermal runaway on electric car batteries, it is common for firefighters to use thousands of gallons of water just to put it out due to thermal runaway thermal runaway does not stop until the reaction is successfully countered with water. This is why it requires on electric vehicles, thousands of gallons of water to counteract thermal runaway
Yeah pretty much.
Last year i got one with a broken screen for 60€ the original battery was still inside working it was used as a daily since it came out the software was modded no charging limits i also own two note fan editions
Hey man, that awesome, but not very safe. I would sugest not doing that.
Great Observation 🎉
Thanks my dude!
Bro need way more view for this quality
That means a lot man thanks. I worked really hard on this one i hope it does well.
samsung's f'd up since that and the 2019 ringtone incident
LMAO I forgot about that.
You mean why a ticking time bomb failed
Yeah that's one way of putting it
Always wondered why DJ Koh stepped down but now I completely understand lmao
🤣
My s7 edge battery caught fire while i was removing it. I ran out of the house with flames shooting out of it and burned my hand pretty bad.
Oh wow. Yeah that sounds terrible. Nice pfp btw.
the note 7 was very good for the tech, just the battery needed to be a teeny tiny bit smaller
Yeah or be manufactured more carefully
Im watching on samsung note FE in 2024 still great to use 😊
Heck yeah dude.
Good job with the video but people are gonna eat you alive for showing HTC phone render twice while saying “Samsung phone” 😅
Thats the G1. It was produced by Samsung. Thanks!
@@owencooktech had G1 back in a day, definitely a HTC! I even just dug it out of a drawer and hold it in my hand. Manufactured by HTC in Taiwan.
Ok yeah just did some research idk where I got that from. It's the first Android phone, not Samsung. Made by htc, produced by Google. Thanks my dude.
Galaxy Note 9 was the best phone ever made. I still use it. And it is flawless.
Heck yeah dude. I'm rocking my phone till 2050. Once you find one that works there's no need to upgrade.
I've had a note 9 since 2020 also, still performs great
I still use the Galaxy S9 (9810, star) to this day. Safe to say with AOSP, it's still smooth.
You could have talked straight to the point. Video should start at 3:12
Nah man I like setting up the story. Building suspense. I like the way the video turned out, but thanks for the feedback.
in short battery was too big for chassis overheated and then explode because of no ventilation
Yeah. It's crazy
@@owencooktech the phone reaches prices like in 2016 around 1000$
"None of them exploded" 😂😂
You would hope.
I'm watching this video on a Samsung Galaxy Note 7
P.s I replaced the original battery with a smaller one the reason the phone exploded was because the battery had no breathing space to release all of that heat think of as a battery as a anime character you'll get what I mean
LMAO. It's good you replaced it. It's a good phone
I owned a Note FE and it's not just a Note 7 with a smaller battery, they took away features like Samsung DEX support and the ability to connect to a TV/monitor via USB-C. It was a downgrade.
Ah. That's too bad. My sources didn't say anything about that.
@@owencooktech yeah, it's something you only know after owning one. The curved glass looks nice until you realize you can't put a proper tempered glass screen protector because it keeps peeling off.
I still have my note fe and my note 7, no explosion thank God
That's asking for trouble. I beg you, get rid of the Note 7.
good video
Thanks my dude!
Make a video of how this video failed
Ouch.
So you could say...
An EXPLOSIVE failure?
Yes.
I STILL WISH I had it
It's a good phone for sure yeah.
@owencooktech Yeah. I had both the OG and the "fixed" version. I would still be rocking it if I had it today. I think it was peak samsung. Mine luckily never blew up ,but I was just happy with it. Then, I was downgraded to the S7 Edge
Was the best. I was pissed I had to give it up.
Bomb phone
LMAO have you seen that one GTA mod.
Summary!
Q: Why the Note 7 Failed?
A: exploding battery
Yeah nuff said
And this is really funny because look who’s copying who now lol. Widgets, AOD, etc.
Exploding phone and yet, apple is still trying to add features from 10 years ago…..
@@heyitz_rj yeah That's just true for Android phones. They always come out with a feature first then iPhone copies it years later.
Bruh. The Note7 was recalled for the manufacturer's battery flaw in September 2016.
It's old news.
Why make a video on it now when sooo many others have already beat you to the punch.
Sorry to disappoint you. It's called journalism. I don't have to make a video on stuff that just happened. In fact, retrospective stories are the highest quality.
I'm gonna root on this channel
Appreciate it dude!
👈 watching on a note 7😂
Oh no! I feel like now you're just asking for trouble.
I actually just use it as a backup phone that I watch TH-cam on or play games, I replaced the battery last year and it's been running fine.
I still own this 😂
Oh no dude.
In short : Samsung was just being cheap..
Nice content tho!
Fair enough. Thanks!
And here we are with out s24 ultra eh??
Yeah no kidding.
Do a video on Skype...
Hm that's interesting..
2nd
Lol
iPhone > Samsung
Yeah fair enough
@@owencooktech after many years I’ve finally realized why iPhones are better they can play console games take 4k 60 fps photos etc plus most android phones barley anybody knows about like xiaomi and oppo
@@NoshikiYT I don't agree with you there. All those things androids can do. Androids are almost always more capable than iPhone. Also Google? Samsung? You've never heard of them?
Almost all android phones sre better, Xiaomi and oneplus have Cheap and super good, efficient phones@@NoshikiYT
I’m glad iPhones never had this problem
Yeah no kidding.
Stop hating android
@@Techboss532 man I switched to Android 2 years ago and never looked back. Android is better in almost every way.
@@owencooktech no i said that to that android hater
@@owencooktechyeah
Lol, the Note 7 was never considered "The greatest smartphone ever" I know you're just trying to sensationalize your video. But don't insult my intelligence.
Check the sources buddy. 👍. I don't sensationalize my journalism. It's a literal headline I show later in the video. Don't come after me if you don't watch the whole video.
@@owencooktechEven though his comment wasn't necessarily nice, your response definitely isn't...
@@user-zw2kf9lu6pi mean they were mean and incorrect…
You clearly lack any intelligence to insult
You're absolutely right I could have been nicer. I worked hard for a month on this story, I don't need my work undermined. I feel I used the appropriate amount of nice.
