Ok hey guys. I totaly forgot to say this part of my script on 3rd party messaging services so here it is. Sorry again: Another way you can work around it is by looking at India. A lot of people in India own iPhones but literally none of them use iMessage. They pretty much all use a third party messaging service. WhatsApp. Now if you're a younger person in the US, it's likely you use Instagram messages or Snapchat to communicate with a lot of your friends. And This is a step in the right direction. No yes. Metta has had some privacy concerns in the past, but in general, texting on these third party softwares is safer than just texting using iMessage.
Why should people trust end to end encryption? Unless you verify it is actually encrypted every time you send a message, how would you know if google turned it off or installed a back door? It would be much safer to encrypt your messages yourself, and send them over sms.
@@MegaLokopo it's not up to Google. RCS isnt made by Google. They don't have access
@@owencooktech It would still be all to easy for google to get around that encryption, they could easily remove it from the app but pretend it is still there, and you wouldn't notice the difference.
Literally 7% of Indians have iphones. If you have an iPhone here, you're considered either old or filthy rich or plain dumb. It's not economically wise to get an iPhone because they are ridiculously expensive. Can't believe you included Indians in this...
Actually informative and engaging to watch, your channel definitely deserves more attention.
Thanks dude! I try.
I don’t think he realises that US is basically the only one that doesn’t use WhatsApp? This isn’t an issue basically anywhere else
Yeah. I accidentally edited out that part of my script. Check the pinned comment.
if something like the thumbnail ever happens to you just know you dodged a massive bullet
Bro it's rough. True dat.
Android is cool because you can do so much with it and it isn't so locked down like iOS and it even has a developer mode on every device to use at home
The reason I'll never get an iphone is all the hoops you have to jump through to jailbreak it just to get basic features that android has, and piracy is much easier
@@Channel-io4xu yeah 👍
Man I'm glad I accidentally found this channel! I'm binge watching now. It is fresh and well done. Useful info and not all click bait and recycled content junk like 75 percent of TH-cam now.
in india imessage isn't really a thing as everyone uses whatsapp even iphone users
Yeah, WhatsApp is the best. Sorry if I missrepresented India, I only have experience here in the states.
@@owencooktech it's OK just do better research next time or ask someone from India if you know one
why not signal?
@@bartez8018 coz from the starting whatsapp made their monopoly as it was really simple to use and more popular that's why
that's like the entire world
There’s so much misinformation in this video, Apple doesn’t use MMS to message from my iPhone to iPhone. The iMessage protocol is proprietary and just ask if not more secure, and also encrypted.
It only defaults to MMS and SMS messaging android phones up until late 2024 where it will use RCS.
Lol iMessage is modified MMS. There's no encryption just proprietary tech that makes it so Android can't use it
@@owencooktechActually it is end to end encrypted between apple devices! Think of it like Facebook Messenger but more secure as it sends messages, media, files, etc through the internet using end to end encryption except even more secure!
It’s only not encrypted when messaging non iPhone devices at which point it does switch to MMS up until they release RCS!
Putting it simply iMessage is a proprietary instant messaging service, very different from MMS.
I tell ya as a former apple tech! 😃
Green bubbles aren't necessarily only for Android users. Blue bubbles are for any Apple Messages app conversations where ALL of the participants are using the iMessage protocol. I have an iPhone, but if I disable iMessage, and send a message to another iPhone user, my bubble will be green. The blue/green is just a representation of whether the person(s) with whom you are messaging are using iMessage or MMS/SMS. If I sent a text to someone using a flip phone (yes, there are some people still using them), and they reply, the response will appear in a green bubble. Regardless, Apple switching to RCS is a big step in the right direction.
Wow thanks for explaining, been waiting for an explanation that isn't boring lol
Np. Happy to help!
Great content bro keep it up. You got one more subscriber. I see your on to something and I wanna be one of the first before you become famous 😂🔥🔥👏👏
When is google going to support RCS in google voice?
Idk.
iPhones have a 3% market share in India
That's 42 million people.
2:29 iPhone to iPhone texting doesn’t use mms, it uses iMessage, a completely different protocol, and the only way to get blue messages
And when texting to an android or iMessage isn’t available, mms is used in place of sms if needed (photo video audio or character limit)
Immessage is based on MMS. It's just modified to only work on iPhone.
@@owencooktech in my understanding MMS requires a phone number, on iMessage i can text with just an email adress though?
@@owencooktechthat is incorrect. MMS and SMS are both passed end-to-end. iMessage is based on the same framework that WhatsApp and Signal use, where the message encrypts, passes through an Apple server relay before going to the recipient, then decrypts for the recipient device. iMessage is not based on standard text or multimedia message protocol. MMS, for instance, cannot be encrypted. I know this because I have to write legal subpoenas to obtain phone and text records; they have to be written VERY specific, and iMessage content cannot be obtained because of the encryption.
iMessage isnt based on MMS, you can also turn off MMS on the iPhone. Blue/Green bubbles represent more than just the color. The blue bubbles show that the message is encrypted via iMessage, green bubbles means that it is not encrypted through MMS/SMS
RCS was not end-to-end encrypted in 2008s or early 2010s. It's end-to-end encrypted RCS is just now making its way to market.
interesting didnt know this. But then I have never used an Iphone always been Android and will be until day I check out. My niece went over to iphone last year after years being on Android and she hates it. But is stuck in a long contract ... good upload cheers for the info.
Yeah the nothing app sounds cool but not safe, like a virtual desktop but for a phone, sounds unsafe but we will see. I just wish apple got rid of all the messaging stuff it’s the only thing that makes android lame, the fact that you can edit group chats, send quality pictures or play games really is a bummer
Yeah. Hopefully apple changes that one day.
only in north america imessage is a special thing, in asia and europe most iphone users ignore imessage
Indian here tho iphones are selling in huge numbers nowadays in my country but still almost everyone prefers using whatsapp or telegram , nice video tho
Yeah, I've just realized that I said Japan instead of India. So sorry.
Ok yeah sorry again. I had it in my script to talk about 3rd party texting services but I guess I didn't put it in. Thanks for your comment I'll make a pinned comment with that part of my script.
@@owencooktech its fine np
Interesting! Thanks!
No problem!
Yo, dope video
Thanks my dude!
Whatsapp is just about universal in the UK, Germany and, I think, lots of other countries. I'm not sure why it's not mentioned here. The "traditional" texts that I get tend to be from companies and other public bodies, including "is this really you?" messages for verification purposes.
Dude 3rd party messaging apps are sick. I wish my country used them more.
It's not a "them" really - just the one. Everybody uses Whatsapp. @@owencooktech
doubt they will implement all the features you can also do with imessage, they will just change the protocol because the EU forces them to
Thats not exactly why they changed it but yeah you're probably right.
Imagine making fun of someone that has different message color
No kidding. That's just shallow
The thumbnail doesn’t even make sense, why would the Android user think that the iPhone user was using Android?
They texted from an Android to an iPhone.
You cracked the code dude.
Love from India
Thanks so much!
I stand with Apple
Lmao only broke people buy android
