V2L adapter comes included for Aussies. It's probably factored into the price anyway for us. Also if you disable active sound design, it still makes a whirring sound when you drive, sadly. About closing the charging port via voice: there's also a button you can just push on the inside (that I haven't used before, since I just close it from the outside).
Great look at a very incredible vehicle Ed. Along with the Ioniq5 which is winning all these car awards, this Ioniq6 is crazy cool with all the pixels, the tech’ and the very clean good looking exterior & very nice interior with all the bells & whistles befitting it’s top trim spec!…And I’ve watched other vids on how it drives, it’s smoothness and just terrific driving dynamics, maybe a bit better than Ioniq5 because of its incredible 0.21 drag coefficient and it sits lower than Ioniq5, which Hyundai says is an SUV ok. But I really like everything about this vehicle other than the curious features that you pointed out that don’t work with the voice recognition but like in my Tucson you touch the button to close the hatch in my case or the trunk in this car. Btw all I have to do in my Tucson is push the button once and remove my finger & the hatch closes by itself!…Just thought I’d mention that but the tech’ in the car like the Highway Driving Assist, Lane Change Assist are very nice features I don’t have other than the Adaptive Cruise Control! Thanks for this great look at another New Hyundai model in this case a full EV that will sell very well Ed IMO! 🙂
Thanks so much for the comment! I'm currently uploading a new video on this vehicle. I did a full drive review and the video will be public at 8 am EST, April 27th. Be sure to check it out!
I collected my Ioniq 6 today in Australia. I love the key fob, it’s a brilliant design. Good video many thanks. AWD 20 inch wheels with cameras and HUD. Range at 100km/ hr with aircon on : 462.5km 287.38 miles on flattish road. ( better than expected ). Car exceeds my expectations.
Thanks for the comment! Initially I liked the design of the keyfob too.. but the more I held it, used it and compared it with my old keyfob... The more I disliked it. Mainly, I find it too big, and having to also carry the blade key outside of it doesn't help. I'm going to try to 3d print a new housing for it
Would be cool if the blade was inside the fob like in other fobs. But at least it's light. I've also managed to scuff mine up a bit too with other keys etc.
Really hoping these don't see the same crazy waitlists that the Ioniq 5 has in Canada! I put a deposit down for one back in early March, I'd love to have it before 2025 lol
Do you know if the Pallisade has had many updates? I believe that has Bluelink OTAs. I haven't seen anything yet in Australia and I've had my 6 for a month.
Ed, great details and good bad features. I like the design overall but its a long car, longer that the 5 and the model 3. I dont care for any of the wheel designs but it for aerodynamics…
I’ve now seen multiple vids saying no HUD in the US and other posts from people saying there is……would love the definitive answer. Anyone in the US own one?
@@edsgarage001 LOL. Agreed. To each their own. I hate “Porsche” style….this reminds me of that. I will say that I sincerely hope that all those features will be in the new Ioniq 5 evs….they FINALLY are getting a rear wiper so I am seriously considering that.
You are such a good teacher!
Thank you! 😃
Thank so much. This was great fun to see before I get the car. I’ll be showing it on Wolf On Wheels
Cool.. what's Wolf on wheels?
Another amazing video! Thanks Ed! I really love all the details and features, can't wait to have mine 😄
Me too!
Great Review - my daughter wants it for the ambient lighting lol She currently drives the 2020 Ioniq EV.
Thanks!

I love my 2019 ioniq electric, but i want the ioniq 6! Great video Ed. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
I was looking high and low for an IONIQ electric 38kwh and I wound up with an IONIQ 6!
Hell of an upgrade!
Thx, very helpful, looks like a Porsche from behind due to the aerodynamic features
I agree, I hear that a lot ☺️
I am awaiting delivery of my RWD Ultimate here in the UK. Here we get a 240v outlet.
Yeah, we don't really have much use for 240v on the V2L here as most everything we want to plug in here is going to be 120v

Good video very well done. I am driving myself a Ioniq 6. Great car.
Thx for the comment!
You can actually import a 47L Deep frunk for the ioniq 6 from korea its just expensive as hell.
Only on RWD models however
Yep, I've even suggested that to some of my clients lol
So sad Hyundai did not include HUD in US version!! It would have been nice for an extendable bolster for legs as well!!!
Yeah....

Sounds like a plan.
Really appreciate your previous videos as well.

It would be nice to have the key attached.

Unfortunately it's probably going to take just as long. We are actually getting less ioniq sixes than we will ioniq fives
@@edsgarage001 That sucks but thanks for the reply! Love Hyundai's EVs but man are they hard to get here in Canada
All the good stuff is!
There are some ultimates in showrooms you can get right now but if you want a custom-made order it'll take 1-3 years to make it over.
Already ordered mine, a much better car than the Tesla Model 3. Really looking forward to what they can do on the over-the-air update.
Don't expect much initially... It's still a new thing for Hyundai lol
Do you know if the Pallisade has had many updates? I believe that has Bluelink OTAs. I haven't seen anything yet in Australia and I've had my 6 for a month.
Will the recall be done over the air. I thought that was the point of firmware OTA updates
Ota updates can do a lot... But I don't think this particular module is updatable that way. Otherwise it wouldn't be a recall.
@Ed's Garage oh so it needs to be brought into the service center? Tesla also does a lot of these, and it's still considered recalls, so I'm not sure.
It's a bit different... But yes for this update, as far as I know, it can only be done at the dealer level

😊
Interesting that the UK version doesn’t have the lip under the front camera..
Really?? That's odd
@@edsgarage001 yep.. just checked.. no lip..🧐
So weird lol
@@edsgarage001 well you have proper weather in Canada! Great videos!
Hahaha...
Thx!
Can you use V2L while driving?
You can use the inside plug under the rear seats... But not the outside v2l adapter of course.

Thx for the comment,
Personally I really like the 20" wheels... But they're better in black
Does it have a recordable dash cam and centry. mode?
No... Hyundai hasn't started doing that yet.
One day.
My SEL all wheel drive version does not have the active sound design option in the settings. The tab is just missing, I am in the US.
It's probably limited to the ... Er... Limited trim level.
Does that car have gloss B pillars bc its a limited or bc its Canadian?
In Canada it's called an ultimate.... But I'm pretty sure it's always gloss black there 🤷
@@edsgarage001 For sure my SEL US spec has matte black door trims
Maybe it's different in the USA.... I honestly haven't looked closely.
It's also possible it's based on the exterior color of the vehicle
I’ve now seen multiple vids saying no HUD in the US and other posts from people saying there is……would love the definitive answer. Anyone in the US own one?
I checked the US brochure on the vehicle... No mention of a HUD
HUD is also available in the UK👍
HUD in Australia too. Best feature especially turn by turn.
The V2L is even crazier in 240V countries. 3.1kW rated
Yeah, I wish they could have upped the amperage here to like 25.. I don't see why that wouldn't have worked.
Can't drive my ioniq with the key. 🇩🇪
The feature is only on the very top trim level. But also depends on the market you're in.
You're still a reference!
Uhh
.. thanks?
Ugly car but good features. The Ioniq 5 looks WAY better.
That's a matter of opinion. Have you seen one in person? They look better in person.
@@edsgarage001 I have. At the Waterloo dealership.
@@Digikidthevoiceofreason whelp . Can't please everyone. My wife prefers the ioniq 5 as well, but we both agree that both the 5 and 6 are nice.
