The "mystery bolt" on the pump is for bleeding the air out of the system. It has holes in it so that it can just be cracked loose to bleed the air out without having to fully remove it. When you add oil to the system just crack it loose wait for oil to start to seep from around the bolt and tighten it back up.
Doing good work. Try to remember any place u have a seal and you go to tighten down the covers or joining pieces. That you should not tighten them in a circle. You should try to skip bolts, screws, or nuts and go in a X pattern/cross pattern because it can mess up your seal as well as twist your parts and start leaking air, coolant, gas, or oil. I learned that the hard way.
Nice work mate, should run mint when its all done. Id personally get rid of the oil pump altogether. Block off the hole where it bolts up to and run the bike on premix 32:1.
@@christianlarsen6421 lol at head bearing. Never heard of a little end/topend bearing going on a 2 stroke bike in all the years ive been working/playing with bikes. Sounds like you dont know what you are talking about mate.
@@brendantakkos1328 Them you really do need to do a serious research on this bike. It’s all over the net. Just repaired on ts185 with a seized main bearing because of a missing lubricants from a bypass of oil pump. Do your research please.
man put no washers and stuff between those gears! use a anglegrinderwrench for holding the flywheel, (one point of the wrench in a hole and the other on the outside of the wheel) more proper way to do this, i have commented this on youre vids before. for the rest very nice work and love youre vids, u remind me a lot on myself back in the day, keep going!
@@dirtygarageguy its 16 year old ones fiddling, proper way is to use the wrench or special tool to hold the flywheel, dont know the english name for it
Lmfao tell that to the engineers who developed my 08 Husqvarna SMR510. Service manual literally says to place an aluminum washer between the primary gear and clutch gear to tighten flywheel bolt to proper torque specs. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
You inspire me man. We both started rebuilding old bikes about the same time so I learn a lot watching your mistakes. Idk how many times I couldn’t figure something out and then you had the same problem and came up with a solution. Keep up the good work man your learning a lot I mean now your to the point your doing complete engine rebuilds and once you have that under your belt there is nothing about a bike that you won’t be able to figure out. Anyway thanks again for just doing your thing and giving all of us inspiration and confidence to do our thing

Dylan Snyder yep well said
I'll 2nd that👏🏼👍🏼
😕
Once it’s done you should show the guy you bought it off and get a reaction
Hobby Bros yes I have been thinking about that
That's a good idea! I think he watches the videos, but I'm not sure

Your getting better and better.
Really enjoyed watching that mate, looking forward to your next video. Good luck with the RX50 first time start up 👍
mee too
Nice job, thanks so much! From Evansville Indiana.
I have really been enjoying your videos i am about to start a restoration on a 1979 ts185.
I freaking love this channel.

Really really bad idea. Your head bearing is lubricated via the oil pump. If you just drive on premix, then soon your engine will get seized!

Dang, dude. Nice work!
the " homemade part" is homemade but came looking like that even from factory, its called a flywheel keyway. most small engines have them :)
Always thread the Bolt in cross position
Likes, and guys don't forget to support him on patreon :D
So much passsion ... U got your self a sub, man
Great Work. Very Cool.
I think it would be easier and better to paint if you did it before assembly....it could be even powder coated.
Would the A100 oil pump fit on TS125 oil pump? They look the same.
When you put the fly wheel on, is there a certain position it should be in with regards to the stator?
You need some gold guy tshirts that say "there it is" on them
Awesome video GoldGuy! You just keep on learning young man! Have you given any thought to going to School for motorcycles? May just be your calling.
I have thought about it!
painting the engine would be nice.

Coin trick works, a rag works too.
Not if the coin is steel and most coins are
The Workshop Our coins in the US are zinc, copper, or nickel, much softer than hardened steel on the primary gear. Works great.
I have a ds 185 it’s almost exactly the same
don't grease tapered shafts, this will be prone to shearing the woodruff key, great video though thanks!
Could of painted the casings before reassembly🤔 just saying!
Should have replaced the case screws with Allen heads bolts. They have a cleaner look
I was going to but I couldn't find any that were the right size at all 3 of the hardware stores in my area 😭
@@GoldGuyRides I tracked down the bolts I needed at tractor supply. Don't know if you have them where you live.
great vid
You should get a dirt bike and make it road legal
idk what kind of torque wrench you're using but you should only hear only click. if you hear more that means you're over torquing your bolts!!
Don’t put grease on the gasket
have you made the engine cover gasket yourself or you bought it ?
I bought it, it came with the complete gasket kit!
Hell ya
Definitely grease your shaft. It sucks when it locks up. Grease your nuts too.
Hahahahahaha
paint it in grey!!!
I want to buy this stuff
i don have magneto
For some reason his videos r really bad but really interesting to watch
30K
Paint the engine
Please upload with full hd quality
I'm watching it in 1080p right now?
