SEA OF THIEVES
Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed action-adventure cooperative multiplayer game played from a first-person perspective. The game features cross-platform play between Windows-based personal computers and Xbox One video game consoles. A group of players travel and explore an open world via a pirate ship and assume different roles such as steering, hoisting sails, navigation, and firing cannons. Players embark on quests, collect loot and engage in combat with other players. Sea of Thieves is a shared game world, which means groups of players will encounter each other regularly throughout their adventures. The game has a cartoonish art style and an exaggerated physics engine that allow players to perform stunts, like being shot out of ship cannons.

Curses that should have happened:
Silver curse from doing every arena commendation.
Skeleton Curse.
The ability to mix two curses into one like an ashen gold curse.
we can buy dark warsmith set, it`s something like ashen skeleton curse)))
Ashen/Siren Curse, it'd be a cool "balance of the extremes" thing.
Also a ghost curse would be really cool. Like looking like the dead on the ferry with an ethereal glow

For real, the selection is literally pathetic for the amount of time and effort this game requires you to spend to get cosmetic rewards are honestly pathetic, the gold one is literally pitiful and the ashen is better than anything else on this list besides maybe the legend curse but honestly that one’s lame af because you can’t get it at all anymore, and that wouldn’t be a problem if they added something special every season but nah, they haven’t added anything new since it’s so bs, the game is way too bland for the kind of time it requires to unlock things
Honestly I’m kinda over people crapping on the ashen curse. It’s definitely not the worst curse in the game, and there’s a reason why people go after it first; it looks cool.
I’m and experienced player and I have all the curses but I’ll still rock this one from time to time because aesthetically it’s one of the best curses and goes well with a lot of outfits and especially well with most of the umbra tattoos.
Point being, judge curses off of their look and not stigmas. Also, PS, if you are in any position where the glow from the ashen curse is what kills you, you were already going to die to begin with 🤷🏻♂️

Have all curses, but when i use the Ghostlight makeup with the order of souls curse, it looks insane to me. OoS curse is by far my favorite for many reasons. It does not give away my characters hiding spots due to glowing ( some places I hide, such as on the galleon, hide 99% of my body but only show like, 1% of my face or sometimes the eyes ), and i find it to be less of a crazy showing curse and more of a nice accent to different makeup combos, especially Ghostlight in my opinion. My guys face looks so evil :)
I run this combo too and I’m one of the most intimidating, drippiest looking pirates because of it. The look goes with everything too. It ads subtle detail, that really completes certain looks.

This list wasn’t even a list of how good the curses looked rather a list of how rare it is to get them🤦♂️. Like no way ashen curse is worse then order of souls or legendary curse. They’re so minimalistic and barely noticeable.

The sunken sorrow takes an hour of someone in your crew have already unlocked it, otherwise it takes about 6 hours if u do all 6 shrines
I just got the the sunken sorrows curse. I joined a random crew and I was able to get it with them. I’d only been on with them for 10 minutes.

I started playing in the middle of season 2, and recently became Pirate Legend. I was extremely disheartened when I realized afterwards that the Legendary Curse was a season 1 exclusive. 😢

Ashen curse is absolutely my favorite. I use this combined with ashen dragon tattoos and shroudbreaker scar. For the clothes i go with Dirty Rotten Bilge Rat Gloves and Belt, Renegade Sea Dog Boots and Inky Kraken Trousers. Try it out, looks very sick.

Definitely agree with the ranking. Even if the legendary curse is very subtle, that's part of what I love about it. It's just bright enough for people in the know to recognize the glow in your eyes, and not too intrusive on your pirate's look. Also, it goes with any outfit.

Personally I feel the ashen curse looks really good with the DA jacket. Also generally besides being built like a walking glow stick, I’ve found myself giving the ashen curse a pretty good reputation, and I’ve found a good amount of good players in the same situation.
I really wish I could get another chance to get the Athena curse…I didn’t fully understand how seasons worked and thought it would be available in the emporium or something so I got lazy and only got to like 75 in the pass
I had never even heard of this game until last June. And I didn't actually start playing until October, needless to say being pirate legend and seeing a curse for pirate legends that I can't have because people didn't want other people to be able to get it kinda sucks. At least I have Belle's hat and sword.

Note about the pirate legend curse: although i didnt reach pirate legend bye the end of season 1, i did reach renown 100 for that pass, and got the PL curse when i got the pirate legend title
Ashen doesn’t make you look like cheetos, if anything it makes you look like an Iron Man 3 villain
In my opinion, the Sunken Sorrow Curse goes great with the Deep Ocean Crawler outfit (the pink one)
Goes well with anything purple I use pl gloves pants and boots fits well
I’m an everyday player got mostly all of the curses apart from the gold curse but I still prefer the Ashen curse idk why lol
The voyages for the coral curse could be easily bypassed, so its a lot easier than it should be...I'd love to see a skeletal curse with the glowing green skeleton (when the textures fail to load in), it would be mad good looking...- Berto1993

Well if you play it for the first time you can't know. It's definitely won't take you under an hour like this dude said. If you haven't read the journals voyage and journals will take you about 4 hours
I was a complete noob when i did everything to get the ashen curse. It was honestly a fun journey. Aside from the sunken curse i feel like i have nothing to work towards now that i know how to play. I really like the puzzles and different things you gotta do for these curses.
Like I’m sure everyone is, I’m hoping for a skeleton or ghost curse. The Pirate Legend curse is amazing though, however I’d love for maybe a tattoo set that allows for the Athena Symbol to be slotted in perfectly amongst the tattoos? I personally would find it more pleasing for the symbol to not overlap my tattoos!

I hope the Legendary Curse becomes re-obtainable in the future without being time-locked. Even if it becomes so much more common as a result it's the curse that I would actually use because of its visual appeal and minimalism.

I apparently just skimmed getting it, I reached Pirate Legend and Level 100 Renown the very last day of the season. It ended up giving me the curse in Season 3 though, after a long time of being a grouch wondering why I did not get it, even though I now have it, I feel really bad about it because I received it like two seasons after I should have gotten it.
well it can be now, you have to be level 105 allegiance for guardians then you can just buy it
How is the ashen curse ranked lower than freaking ink under your eyes? It literally looks like you've put on waaaay too much eyeliner and started crying because you don't yet have the ashen curse unlocked...
I'm a member of Ashen Alliance, so its kinda one of those unspoken "requirements". Lately not so much, but alot of members still use the ashen curse pirate and ship cosmetics for sentiment I suppose.
As someone who wasted hours to obtain the gold curse, I obviously have to vote for it to be the first place.
But apart from that I honestly prefer the pirate legend course😂

Yeah I grinded the gold curse back before they even had checkpoints. Now it's just bs people can just cheese checkpoints. Gold curse is trash now. PIRATE LEGEND CURSE is the best :)
I COMPLETELY (respectfully) disagree with the the first one, the order curse sucks and I think that ashen curse is fourth, shores of gold curse third, pirate legend second, and sunken sorrow curse, look at my profile, I think that sunken sorrow curse looks quite nice on my pirate…

While not the most impressive curse in the game, I do agree the legendary curse is the best. It’s not overly gaudy but just noticeable enough to have an effect. Plus it works with all sorts of cosmetics, it’s so versatile!

I personally really like the curse of sunken sorrow. I use it because my characters lore was that he was a drowned pirate who came back for revenge and he has that curse and a bunch of torn clothing, so he looks undead. But I do agree with your list.

I like the curse aswell, I rock a mostly blue outfit and cover most of my pirates face with a bandanna so the curse looks pretty good
Sorrow curse in my opinion is horrible, I can’t find anything to match and I just hate it

I agree with this list the only thing I would change is the gold curse over the legend curse. This is only because the legendary curse is just a bit too bland considering if you wear a shirt than it is hard to even notice that the player has the curse equipped

The Order of Soul's curse should be given a remake, like the dark tear trail feels more like a makeup cosmetic. Order of Souls is all mystic and that so they should add like glowing skeleton runes across the body.
Pirate Legend also feels like it needs a bit more love, its just glowing eyes and a glowing chest mark, maybe you should get like a bit of the ghost glow infection around your body.
Some other curse ideas.
A Merchant Curse, maybe can make it similar to the Gold Curse but maybe with silver or blue/gold mix like the ancient skeletons.
We should get a Reaper based curse aswell, that would likely be kinda skeletal but tinted as to not blend in with other skeletons.
A Hunter's Call Curse could be like glowing scars or bite marks, and you should get to from killing the Shrouded Ghost or just max that faction.
Dark Relic curse, likely gives your body a patchwork look in the style f the bewitching dolls which should be a rare items to sell.
The Sovereigns are too new to be given a curse and besides they kinda just for Captains and they aid in levelling up the main three + Athena, but maybe like a purple version of Pirate Legend Curse with them?
A Joke Curse would be the Cronch curse where you just eat a stupidly high amount of bananas, likely just covers you in banana tattoos.
We also should get the randomized curses back for uniqueness, even if its just like a pool of 5 variations.
My favourite curse is the coral curse l. It looks great and I love it
TOTALLY agree with that ranking, that being said... I do like the sunken sorrow curse mainly because i got stung by a Man O' War irl when the curse came out so im emotionally attached to the curse. I once thought that nothing could go with that curse either HOWEVER, me and my buddy were goofing around and he said to put on the purple hair dye for the memes just to see if it matched. Both of us knew it wouldn't match because nothing matches the smurf curse BUT IT DID. The purple hair dye with a beard on works with the sunken sorrow curse. P.S. no i aint trippin

I just unlocked the ashen curse yesterday and i like how i looks with the castaway shoes and gloves that are only just bandages, as if the pirate burnt their hands and feet for digging treasures out and running with it a lot
i Started Playing 3 years ago (Jan, 16, 2019) i just recently got PL after me trying to play the Pacifist pirate which is why it took so long.
i was very sad when i grinded so hard season 1 to get PL but couldn't make it in time and wasn't able to get Legendary curse. i stopped the grind after that cause i was so depressed i couldnt get it anymore. but i have a feeling they'll be adding a skele or ghost curse soon so ill be sure to get that!
might look better on my pirate but idk, just wish i would've grinded harder.

Totally of topic but this is my list for Easiest to hardest curses to get for newer players
1. Ashen curse
it is so easy to get but the downside is you have to do the same thing over again 3 times
(2 hours)
2.curse of the sunken sorrow
If you have a friend that did the “set up” then it is the easiest but if your friends don’t want to play the game they made you play and you have to solo sloop like me then it takes time
(6-7 hours)
3. the order of souls curse
At first I thought it was so simple but later on I honestly did know what I was doing and how to get it but after time and googling how to do it I got it
(8 hours)
4. Gold curse
Straight up takes way to long and they’re a lot of annoying toll tales to do And I think the video said this but you have to do a total of 45 toll tales 9 tales 5 times
(Haven’t done)
5.legendary curse
If it was still possible to get then the gold curse would be the hardest to get but since you can’t get it now then for newer players (like me) it is impossible to get

In my opinion the gold curse is just ugly as hell. I know it is rare and hard to get but it doesn't really look good. It looks like you were swimming in molten gold. So i wouldn't put it on second place but i kinda agree with the other ones.

I remember resetting my pirate in the beginning of season 1, and then grinding like hell in order to get to pirate legend before the season ended, so that I could get the legend curse.

The legend curse is a sore point for me as it's the only curse that's a "you want it well then invent a time machine and try again" case scenario. It's a shame because, it does signify being legend well (sadly only got to the 40's as I only started playing SoT in the last third of Season 1 - thus is life)
Agreed, the pirate legend curse just overall looks the best with a minimalist look but also let's my crew know what I've been through to get it

I ran through the ashen curse tall tale solo and I managed to get it for my brother as I finished it off. Would have been much quicker and easier with other pirates
As a player that grinded all shrines and journals and did the final voyage all by myself, the sentence ,,easy to get'' is pretty wrong. Alltough as you mentioned it, I can now throw down the voyage for my friends, without them having to read all the journals.

I've been playing the game since release, and I use the ashen curse, and trust me, a lot of people have met the wrong side of my cutlass, then regret even trying to attack me, I play as a solo reaper so
Also I use the skeleton exploder title and I mess a lot of people's days up

the sunken curse is only quick if u have someone that has spent 3 hours gathering all the journals to buy the voyage
The best combo I've found for Sunken Sorrow is Kraken pants, belt, eyepatch, hat, boots, and the black bandana mask. Hope this helped

I knew he would put my favourite last XD, but it is kinda fair because it doesn’t cover a lot of you and requires you to be shirtless. Not to mention that it is also very easy to get as well.
Goldcurse people are more sweaty and generally more skilled than pirate legend curse people. Change my mind
I actually agree. It's like 70-90% sweaty PvPers and the rest are the PvE lords who cheesed it in an alliance server, cause tbh even cheesing it takes a few hours still. Whereas the PL curse is sort of like.... okay, I was here and played the game for a few days, oh cool a curse.

Gold curse is like playing the game for it. Time and effort doing mundane Tall tales except two and they take forever.

The sunken sorrow curse took me around 7-8 hours
I absolutley despise the pirate legend curse. Its literally in the same ranking as the order of souls. Its too minimal and not very noticable. I prefer the gold horders and ashen curses because they are the coolest full body curses imo. The mermaid curse just looks like a reskin of the ashen curse
7:59 It really pisses me off when things aren't obtainable anymore. That in my opinion if flawed game design. Everybody who spent real money to buy this game should be able to grind for and own experience every single content that developers have made for this game.
I got the legendary curse. It pairs so well with the dawn hunter set.

my opinion is:
1. sunken curse (would be better if it went with more clothes)
2.ashen curse (is really easy to make a outfit out of)
3.gold curse (looks nice and shows you been playing for a while)
4. legendary curse (looks great could do with a bit more as it is not very noticeable and shows you been playing for a long time)
5. order of souls curse (just looks like another face paint and should have more than just the eyes)

Athena curse is the best imo.
It just kills me I was a PL before season one. (When PL was something to brag about) and due to lack of content I never played season one.
Hopefully they make it available again because I hate I don't have it.
Honestly people dis the gold curse a lot due to the lack of it going with stuff. Try using white clothing pieces. I use the mercenary white pants and honestly we can all agree white and gold is one hell of a combo.
I think they are good it depend what you wear with it. i have the Ashen Curse and look lit on my character
Some people use the ashen curse because they love flameheart and the reapers in which case they're not all lower skilled players.
Sunken is the best curse. It goes well with shirtless chest open aesthetics and has a lot of color coordinating potentials. Gold has fewer combination potentials
i use the sunken sarrow curse with a bearded pirate and the pirate legend outfit it looks sick!
Sunken Sorrow curse under 1 hour? Yeah, sure, but first you have to unlock the Larinna quest that takes you to the last part of the process and that takes around 6-7 hours to complete.

The sunken kingdom curse does NOT take 1 hour to obtain.
You have to go to EVERY shrine. complete every single one, do all the puzzles and read every book.#
ONLY THEN do you unlock the quest to get the curse, in which you have to dig up a chest. then go to another island and 3 of the 6 shrines. You must babysit the ches the entire time. if your ship sinks, ofc you have to do it all over again.
This took me about 5-7 hours total playtime to go from never having set foot in a shrine to getting the curse. Now I am farely new to the game and I was taking my time doing each of the shrines. But 1 hour isnt true. dont get that impression.
if silver curse was a thing, that is the best curse, period. They should have gave the silver curse to all triumphant sea dogs before that one annoucement date that they gave out the good buy and stuff.
