Isn't the whole point of the shrouded ghost hunter costume that they've become so obsessed with FINDING the shrouded ghost that they started becoming it? So...
Pirates, remember, your clothing choice is entirely up to you. Just because someone has a popular name in the game you like playing that doesn’t mean that they’re entitled to stereotype your favorite accessory.
As a Frostbite set enjoyer, my defense is: You're telling me I can be a ghost pirate hunting giant prehistoric sharks but being a ghost pirate _viking_ is too far?
Also, pirates were not strictly tropical. Anywhere there were trade routes, there were pirates. Salem, Massachusetts has a museum all about the pirates of New England.
@@saehtnyS He just really wanted to copy Bacxaber who said the same stupid nonsense. WHat he said about Sudds jacket is exactly what Bacxaber said about glitterbeard.....only difference being the glitterbeard one made sense.
Yep, exactly, there were pirates outside of tropical regions too. Also I'm Norwegian, love the color blue, and it reminds me of the waterbenders from Avatar, so how could I not love it?
@@shaunminick7793 won't lie my first outfit purchase was the kraken outfit- but then I adjusted to my current conquistador look. Though it's just the jacket and boots for my look. The rest is just stuff I thought worked with it. Like the privateer pants, the tattered leather hand wraps and bandana
Erveryone hates naked players wannabe ninja idiots that all look the fuckin same or the random goofy looking idiot that got nothing better to do in live than annoy people for no reason that being sad
In my personal experience the first set a new pirate wears can tell something about how invested/knowledgable the person is right from the start, kracken lord, crab lord and reaper pyjamas feel like the lesser knowledgable as the only thing you really need for getting them is gold, for me the ashen dragon was my first set since at that point i understood enought to know that getting the set actually reguired something special, those being the commendations which may be somewhat easy but its still a mark of getting something more than just money, when someone goes for ashen dragon first you know they are not so clueless that they would not have figured out what commendations even are
One day, one day I will see someone wearing the Black Dogs set (With Day 1 patch, just to complete the effect) and not feel like the only sod wearing it.
I was essentially introduced to the game by my friend with that exact outfit last year, been playing with them since just enjoying ourselves. Been a mostly great experience
I still have mine, though I swapped out some pieces, and I don't use the day 1 patch anymore. Hell I'm even rocking the Vanguard sails, and title. Two of my other closest friends are also Vanguards with Black Dog sets, but they don't wear their outfits.
WHAT?! I thought I was the only person that still wears the Black Dog set and Onyx gear. Apparently there are 3-4 of us LOL I haven't changed it since day 1, but I really like green and black so no other set looks any good IMHO EDIT: grammar mistake
"pirates were tropical" what about all the piracy that took place during the anglo-dutch war, and the numerous attempts at discovering a north-west passage during the golden age of sail. Most of the ships that went looking for it were famous pirates, example Sir Francis Drake. I'm not campaigning for an ice region, it just really gets at me when people try to make the the claim that piracy only happened in the tropics. There is a long and storied history of piracy all across the globe in practically any environment that has navigable waters.
@@philosotree5876Yes, but an ice region would still be cool. Even if we had to go through a portal to leave the Caribbean to arrive there. Would it make sense no not really but if theirs the ashen reaches there can be the frozen oceans.
fates of fortune hat is a scorpion, not a claw. another stereotype is, "the people who have no historical knowledge of pirates and only think pirating is killing every crew they come across & sinking the ship.". seriously, there is more to the game than that, alliances do have their benefits, and no one attacks a fleet of players, unless they are ballsy or dumb. alliances allow for more loot, transferring loot between ships gives everyone commendation & alliance progression is multiplied by the number of ships, and you can complete the entire set of listed quests faster with more people. also it's more fun when you actually add real pirate code, diplomacy, and tactics into the game.
I change my outfit every time I play (for good luck of course) and rarely wear sets but it was interesting to see what each set implies and now I will for sure be looking out for them. Great content, thanks!
The Fates of Fortune Set paired with some of the Legendary set cosmetics (especially the hat) is my current favorite outfit, it looks quite nice i think. I rock the sunken curse on it too, just adds some matched coloring, I can recommend it :)
I wore the legendary outfit for a time just because purple and gold are my favorite color combination. These days I wear the sovereign hat (the conquistator style one with the yellow feather), gold hoarder gloves for the rings and the famous adventurer dress that came with this season.
My experience with Trashen Dragons is that they're typically reasonably competent but are almost always significantly outmatched when confronted by a crew who knows what they're doing. Despite this Trashen Dragons are usually rather aggressive which comes to bite them in the ass when they figure out they are no match for their opponents and would rather spend 3 hours fleeing across the map than finish the fight they got themselves into. The fact that they don't see the problem with the handicap of turning themselves into easily-visible glowsticks with the ashen curse and jacket (though often also seen with ashen curse and bare chest) speaks volumes about their lack of insight in the nuances of naval combat. If you are a Trashen Dragon, I want you to know that I am talking about you personally.
I must be an anti-Kracken then. I am an adult, never say slurs, but still make db plays from time to time. I mostly am the paranoid person on the top of the ship trying to still learn how to steer a ship and aim a cannon.
I got dark warsmith before hourglass came out; at that point I’d been fantasizing a skelly curse for years. I just came back from a long break and am now starting the painful journey to get the curse
one other set that you missed out on in the ship stereotypes which has a "costume" is the "Dark Warsmith" set, yes i have it but back in the day i just wanted a set that had the red and black aesthetic
As somebody who wears a Grand Admiral uniform, that stereotype is all too true. I always liked that set from day one and can see why many gravitate to it as their first choice. No regrets with it being my first set
I personally rock the legendary hat mainly cause it looks cool but I also wear open jackets because I have the ashen and sunken sorrow curse which could be a sterotype itself
I wear a mix of stuff, I don’t really try to show off with my outfit- that’s what my title is for, but I wear the pirate lord jacket, a slouch hat, sea dog boots and gloves, some plain black pants I can’t remember what the name is and a pegleg
If you're going to keep making tutorials, I suggest you make tall tale walk-throughs since tall tales are one of the first things new players do and they need all the help they can get.
I rock the DA set just cuz it looks cool tbh, and getting the full outfit/tools/weapons/ship set gives me a good goal to work for that'll take quite a bit of time since I mostly play solo or duo, always gotta find little goals for myself or I'll get board, ghost curse my next goal after finishing DA tho, ghost so I can still use my own cosmetics
Yeah even I fell for the crab set lol. Though I actually used it as my fishing-set before getting Killer Whale stuff. Idk it just felt like a fishing set to me, probably because of the ocean-ness of it all. I'm surprised I didn't get more people attacking me when I used it lol, especially since most of my fishing sessions end up with crazy stuff like FoF's or stacking FotD lol (I don't know if this is a curse of a blessing)
I understand how he got the kraken set right but the Merrick’s jacket stereotype was uncalled for . I feel threatened knowing that he listed every single feature that I used to rock with the same jacket
Been playing the game for about 2 years now, I’d say I’m not new anymore considering I’ve got millions of gold, have completed almost all the tall tales, and I’m a pirate legend. I just really like the ocean crawler set, outfit and ship set
question if you have skelly curse and very close to ghost curse but still no pirat legen what stereotype is that (fr how the hell do you get than im level 67 athena, 96 guardians of fortune)
9:15 , I’m rocking the sawbones hat cause I’m a history nerd who is fascinated with 16th and 17th centuries esthetic, plus while my pirates body type is perfect, my face is ugly asf so it works out 😊
Lol climbing up the ladder both in TH-cam and on the seas. Good luck broham looking forward to you releasing the video saying you are able to do this full time and you can get a sick mic/ setup. Best of luck to you man wish you the best.

the reason they are stereo typed is cause you can usualy tell what kind of person your dealing with imediatly. for example: legendaries.
As a Frostbite set enjoyer, my defense is: You're telling me I can be a ghost pirate hunting giant prehistoric sharks but being a ghost pirate _viking_ is too far?

as a person who has used some the Imperial Sovereign set at the age of 22, i just think it looks cool to be a armored up conquistador-

i actually lost my mind at the swordsmachine comparison that was genuinely the most unexpected but funny thing i have heard in a long time good shit
Aww nothing on the Soulflame set I love being a human lantern
At first I was like, I don't care for SCP 049 that much. Then he said middle aged man who's chill and I was got.
