I feel personally attacked. I wear the Sunken curse every day and I love doing shrines and treasuries. Though I must admit trying to get these 30 breath of the sea is starting to burn me out a bit.

Ashen is the edgy tryhard curse. Most tryhard pvpers I met use this curse.
I wear the Sunken curse because my curiosity drove me to the depths of the sea to uncover the truth. And what I found was a sorrow deeper than the waters I was in that left its mark on me.
In other words, I like how the curse works for the story of my pirate.
same, I got back into the game and loved the shrines and just the idea of exploring them.
I wear it because it was 9 hours of pain and confusion

Syn, talking about the Pirate Legend curse, I felt validated! and I remember helping my Sloop mate get their Curse of Sunken Sorrow, and their Ashen Curse some time down the line! Personally, I rock the Curse of the Order with the Rogue Tinkerer Captain's outfit these days, to make it look like the Ink is oozing out of my Goggles! Very effective as a unique look! Presently working on getting the Gold Curse as we speak, just halfway there! EDIT THE FIRST: You do any "Costume Stereotypes" yet? curious to hear your take on Rogue Tinkerers, Sea of Sand Sailors, or Ruby Splashtail Monarchs!
As a fello Gold Curse Rogue Tinkerer I can confirm it's a really nice combo! I'd be interested to see the Stereotype to as I often find Tinker Crews to be very chill compared to other more "edgier" costumes like the Warsmith and Crimson Crypt.
A few months ago, I decided I want the gold curse, and began doing the Shores of Gold. It wasn’t until a bit later that I realized that you need to get every commendation, and I said, “Nope, I’m not putting that much time into a single cosmetic”
Oh I did. Oh I sure did. Was it worth the sanity for it. HELL NAW. But, on the other hand, I now own one of the less common curses. So I guess that’s a plus

Never really cared for that curse
I didn’t care for that curse, back then cuz I didn’t even know you could get one in the pass I only got level 24 in season 1 and now I regret it. But Gold Curse looks still good so I stick with it rn.
I was not active at all during this time but I’d reached PL a year prior lmao. Now I’m as active and enjoying the game as much as possible. I’m sure there will be more cool achievements to come.
I wear the OOS curse and have since i unlocked it after the tall tales released... the main reason i wear it is that its not to flashy like most other curses, as well as the lore behind the curse itself. The blackness is from kraken ink being squirted into the eyes, giving the wearer abilities similar to the OOS merchants...granted nothing special actually happens, but the story of the curse earned my respect much more than the rest
Whilst I am the second kind of sunken curse, I never fell victim to my ship disappearing once, I got super lucky... I did it day 1 of the curses release... I did make other pirates ships "Disappear" though.
As to why I wear the curse, I simply like the colour combination and it goes well with Sudds Jacket :)

You speak the truth. To this day, I shudder whenever I hear a friend say they want to do the art of the trickster tall tale. I was sooooo pissed I ran the wrong way with the gunpowder key when Plunder Valley blew up...I had to take a small break after that. Then to have to do it four more times??? Just shoot me, lol. After all the time and sweat I put into to get that damn gold curse, you better believe I wear it to this day.

I have 20 days 10 hours of SoT and i just finished grinding the gold curse. That was the most mind numbing thing ive ever done in my life. It was worse than college.
As an avid OoS curse user who's used every curse at one point, I agree.
The pirate legend curse has been my default setting for a long time now. I was a pretty casual player back in Season 1, and managed to slip into both Pirate Legend status and 100 rep just in time, about a day before Season 1 ended.
Same here, 1 day before deadline.
That was the only reason my group pushed through season one. I also have the day 1 eyepatch and all the birthday items. I just feel like an old timer watching all these new players on the seas. I think about how long ago it was that we started playing.
The first season of sea of thieves was the only season I didn’t complete I will always complete the season because of the pirate legend curse

As an avid Day 1 Player of the Seas and still slowly chugging along, rocking the Day 1 Eyepatch, the Golden 1000 day Patch with the Pirate Legend curse gives a sense of pride.
I picked up the Golden Cannons and Captains hat back in the day. I also started Merricks journey but didn't finish because my buddy finished it without me.
OoS curse with Facepaint of the Damned looks so damn good. i pair tht with DA jacket and the rest ghost outfit.

i have something to say, i always do the shrines without my ship disappearing while in a server with 2 brigs and a galleon, which they were near me at the time so ive never ever had my ship disappear while doing shrines, and getting the curse.

The only pirats I have found rocking the pirat legond curse are sweaty solo sloops that are just annoying. They don't even put up a fun fight one of us is sinking quickly the end.

Playing this game since release. Had final exams time at university during season one. Never had chance to get that damned curse and I feel genuinely sad about it.

Pretty accurate with the Ashen curse. I wanted a curse, it looked alright, and was relatively easy to get (if somewhat tedious to sail around to the different islands)
I got gold horder curse solo without checkpoint cheating, it was the most painful thing I've ever done in any game I've ever played, it is the most hardest grind I've done, and it took about 60+ hrs without guide's, so I'm definitely one of the few that can equip it with pride. I'd say it's definitely the hardest to get in the game, even harder than the new PvP hourglass curses.

Eh, I just thing the ashen curse looks cooler than the others...and I like the small role play of "i stole something I really shouldnt have"
I've found two subspecies of Legendary Curse wearers.
1. The guy who unlocked it in season 1, wears overly gaudy obnoxious clothes and never shuts the hell up about how "it's a minimalist curse, it just clicks with every set, it looks better than every curse and every curse other than PL is bad, gold curse isn't worth the time, etc." like mate it's a good curse but we all know you want the gold curse more, you're just a lazy palooka that can't be bothered.
2. The more conservative bloke, typically dressed in raggedy or basic clothes that uses it because he just likes it. He doesn't talk about it, nor will he insist on others that his opinion is correct. Their skill can vary from trash or good, but they're usually quite friendly and won't try to lie to newbies and say "oh you can still get this curse when you're PL" even though it's unobtainable now.
I Heat the Ashen Curse cause i'm a Dragon Lover so any game i can have either a Dragon or Flame thing to represent this i always go for it.
Have all the curses but never changed from the Ashen Curse.

Once I unlocked all the curses, I found them a little less appealing and stopped wearing them for the most part. If they ever have a skeleton curse, I would definitely wear that.
Do you recommend doing all 5 of one then moving on and checking the next one of or doing 1-9 in a loop 5 times?
@@cakewaa8887 probably do all 5 of a single tall tale before moving on because they are way easier to do when they are fresh in your mind. Constantly switching tall tales and figuring out what you have to do just get annoying

Ashen just goes well with my Keg outfit, Sunken I like it and went for it, Emo curse is just there because of the tell tale, Gold curse is the best one in the game and Pirate legend is really trashy, the eyes aren't THAT cool.
I got the shores of gold curse about 2 or 3 weeks after it came out. Before checkpoints. It was painful

I’m definitely the 2nd coral curse one I love the beauty of the shrines and I love doing them even if no one else does them it’s for me the best part of the game

order of souls curse i used because i thought it fitted into my kraken boat theme and the order uses kraken ink
I feel so violated by the pirate legend curse I got that level 100 season 1 but never pirate legend and i am livid My friends quit on me after that and i didn't want to grind solo and i am the only one without it
If you in fact reached level 100 in season 1, you will get the curse once you reach pirate legend so get your booty back on the seas and start grinding those needed levels, lol.
I got lvl 100 too. :skull: I'm not a PL yet but I'm EXTREMELY close. I have lvl 50 Gold Hoarder, 48 Order of Souls and 47 Merchants. I get too bored.

You get one level per two voyages or so with emissary.
I got from level 42 to 50 the day I got pl using them.

No curse: if you dont rock any curses it ether means 2 things. . .
you are ether brand new to the game and don't own any curses. or you own them all and just choose not to use any of them because it does not fit you look. . . they are fine additions to your collection of stuff you don't use though.
pirate legend curse sucks imo, it didn’t take anything special to get and most people who i see using it still wear the pl title
Another reason for order of souls curse is you were trying to get gold shores curse and got it on the way and thought why not wear it
The ashen curse one is spot on besides being new or too lazy to get one don’t really like the other curses besides the sunken sorrow and i don’t like the stuff that you have to do for it and still i like ashen more
I use the Legend curse time to time but wouldnt consider myself a veteran because of that, i mean i play this game since the beginning of 2019 so the curse feels kinda new to me.
I feel like people who use the sunken curse are often times big lore buffs
i use order of souls because i started doing shroudbreaker and then couldn't be bothered to complete it. And it's a little harder to get than ashen curse.
Grinded out the sunken sorrow curse day 1 (technically day 2, I stayed up all night) and I still wear the ashen curse all the time
I spent so much of my early sea of thieves days messing around im still not pirate legend I wish I put a bit more effort in and found a crew to make it easier
I'm pretty casual with the game, been playing it for about a year and a half and recently got my first Curse, the Sunken Sorrow and I was so happy/proud. Tbh I only really been grinding the Shrines/Tributes because the ship set looks awesome but was happy when I got the curse itself.
Ashen curse is straight up dark souls 3 kindled look. As a souls fan I always have ashen curse on.

3:32 Surprisingly, no. The only time I was sunk when exploring the shrines was when I had an emissary flag up. Though I was sunk twice when trying to sell the coral artefacts from those shrines.
I used sunken curse and none of those really matched my reason for having it. Other than that, I think this is a valid video.

Dude I just barely got the pirate legend curse, I got lv 100 in the pass but not pirate legend until just a few days before the season ended.
I like to wear the ashen curse because I dont like the colour of my pirates eyes so its a quick easy way of changing them without having to change my whole pirate.
Everyone talk shizzle bout the ashen but the drip potential is superb.

For the order of souls curse my friend uses it to cover his eyes because he’s meant to be an old man with his eyebrows covering his eyes.
i dont think you needed to be pirate legend in season 1 to unlock the legend curse as long as you completed that season. Thankfully I had that curse available long after the season was over in the legend shop and i know I wasnt a legend during season 1. Unless there is another way it unlocked?
No, you are correct. As long as you hit level 100 in season 1, you'd get the curse as soon as you made pirate legend.
i was a 2018 player and as soon as season 1 came out i decided to take a break until my friend showed me Pirates Life and then i realised i just missed out on the 2nd coolest curse

i always have, and always will wear my pirate lord curse with pride.
I use Ashen Curse because i don't like look of Gold and Sunken curse, Souls curse is meh and wearing PL curse means supporting Ramsey, so i don't wear that either. xD
i dont think it directly means supporting the pirate lord, if i understand the revenant lore right, functionally it implies that your character is possessed
