Worms don't have eyes, but they do have light sensitive cells that allow them to know when they are above the ground and their skin has sensory organs that allow them to sense vibrations and chemicals around them. They can also sense magnetic fields through a sensory neuron, so they know which way is up and down. So, I guess if a lady worm gives good vibes, then they hook up.
The SER8 has a robust cooling solution and a spare SSD slot with a built in heatsink and you could double the ram if you want for not too much extra, it's pretty cool. I like mine.
I'm not sure how detailed TH-cam's analytics get. I know they show you how long people tuned in. But I think you could pinpoint the exact moment that everybody clicked the thumbs up button is when you showed the two worms getting it on.
Apples and oranges for me. I much prefer a PC for gaming, but I can't take it with me and I don't want an underpowered and expensive gaming laptop. Both. Both is good.
Handheld PCs are far more versatile than a mini desktop PC - Gaming on the go - obviously cannot do that with a mini desktop pc - Portable - can set up as a desktop pc or a "game console" in the living room. - Self-contained - Has built in monitor, controller inputs and battery power.
I just wanna say I just subscribed for the worm content. I know you're a tech channel, and I **HATE** tech. But I **LOVE** worms, and I'm really hoping you do more worm content.
I'm watching this now because I plan to, in the future, renovate a small boat and/or car to live a BIT "off the grid" and to be able to game while doing so is essential (best I've seen so far was a guy who had a full stationary computer in his van somewhere in the wilderness of the US; something like that is the dream). Used to think about doing something like that but the solar it would require, especially where I'm at where the sun doesn't shine, doesn't seem entirely viable. Small handhelds that can be charged whever the sun's out however... Mini-PC doesn't seem too bad either. Smaller monitor + likely more energy efficient = possibilities.
I would love a handheld, but my main reason for sticking to the PC for over 30 years (!) is because I like games in the 1st person and CAN NOT play those types of games with a freaking controller.
0:20 "The RGB Dance." 😂 The handhelds are great but I actually do love the GMKtec mini PC I got recently. I also got one for my Mom for Christmas and installed LibreELEC and put all her favourite movies and TV shows on it for her (also IPTV.) There's just a lot more you can do with those mini PC's...but I do really enjoy my little Miyoo and Anbernic devices ❤
This is a great video and I'd love to use a mini PC, but I dont have a desk in my house, so to use it I'd need to stream gameplay to another device. There arent really great cheap devices for that though, so I might as well stick with my Steam Deck.
I have a handheld and a laptop. I am saving up for the beelink gti14 with egpudock and putting a 4070 ti super or 7900xt in it and saying f it. Still debating on which card. Ill have the portability aspect to take the pc wherever and it performs well enuff. When i wanna blast it at home i can do that too. What a time to be alive.
TechDweeb, I would love to see you do a vid on performance of various handhelds with HDMI capability on a typical big screen TV! Does TV screen size affect the performance of a handheld pushing graphics to it?
So Techdweeb, I have a question. Since you voiceover your videos, do you just record your hands moving around and add the voice later? Or do you talk while recording too? I've wondered that for about 2 months. Just never asked lol.
I need a Earthworm Tech Dweeb game preferably TG16 version. Eats pop tarts for power up and the whole point of the game is to unearth the fountain of root beer.
However, however, however, however, you need to take into consideration the extra cost of peripherals you'd have to buy for the mini PC like a nice monitor.
Test was really good... But! I get completly different Cinebench results on the Rog Ally Z1 Extreme. Multi: 14471 Single: 1710 CPU boost on and manual power profile, with everything to max. I guess you had CPU boost of, cause with CPU boost of, I got similar score. So test is unfortualy void. How much VRAM did you dedicate to the GPU?
I know that many PC has a port which is a type of USB 4 which is mean has better performance than a handheld if you can connect external graphic card by using EGPU
ser8 was 5-7degrees cooler than the ally that must mean it is also probably not as noisy in the living room which for me is a thing I really consider when I select my couch PC
They both have different use cases, handhelds are more portable and dont require other peripherals like a monitor and mouse and keyboard. If you play the handheld at your desk all the time then I guess yeah, but that defeats the purpose of a handheld
Heya Mr.TD. you know what I have been curious about? What would be the ideal setup of someone bought a budget android cell phone, like $200-300, just for gaming? Software, hardware, etc.
In my case, both the mini pc and the computer handhelds would beat my laptop any day. Tho my baby is more of an art machine that so happens to do good with indie titles. It's an Acer Spin 5, if you're wondering. Which is why I'm trying to pick a modern game machine to play the bigger games.
GUYS! THIS VIDEO IS A TRAP!!! TechDweeb made it only to secretly worm his way into our hearts! at first i didn't know how to feel about this but in the end, who knows. maybe it is heartworming after all...
I find the price comparison to be a bad call. Most of these handhelds and mini pcs would have the same CPU gpu combo usually, so it would be more helpful to know whether they are the same performance or if the handheld loses out cause of the battery and screen.
I'm still enjoying my Odin base, streaming my PC games to it via moonlight and no worries about my battery life! Got it clocked down to the lowest clocks and I can play up to 9 hours of pc gaming on a charge! heh.
@@joeyjojojunior4886 the cheapest and best why to play ps3 is just basically get a ps3 since most mini pcs or PCs won't be able to run them unless you spend more
Either one is a lot nicer than my new mini PC. It's a N150, and it maxes out at 6 Watts. But I'm not trying to play any AAA games on it... just regular desktop computing and maybe some lightweight indie and retro games.
Frame genetation gets the hate because of the lag it induces and the vaseline smear effect that at least in my experience, gowgnarok got because of it. And people say using reflex reduced lag back down and, no... It feels like its lagging in fast forward. Its like having a liter of black coffee after 3 days awake. Im not more alert, im hypertensive jelly
Bang for the buck? Handheld, hands down. You still need a monitor, a controller (or mnk), etc. to use the pc. The question is too apples to oranges for me. Cool video though. I did enjoy it.
Then there are the machines like the higoles, szbox, and morefine which are both? neither? They’re mini PCs with touchscreens on them, in a thicc tablet form factor. They’re cheap too… but unsure if worth purchasing
when it comes to PCs in general, pretty sure only a few years ago you needed to drop a grand to get anything that played games like this without actual frame skips. My most powerful Ryzen PC cost like $800 and was struggling with some of these.
And when I see a mini PC I think... How much is it to buy and upgrade an office PC with a GPU and have APUs caught up to low end GPUs? From what I can see, the NEWEST mobile integrated AMD 890M BARELY keeps up with RX6400/6500 class... the TLDR is... if you are budget oriented and you have a bit more space on your desk... maybe build?
That worm stuff is.. something..
Worm stuff!!!!
He is secretly a colony of worms. Like a Hunter from Halo. He is looking to expand the genetic diversity of his clan.

Even though he spoke of male and female worms, I wouldn't be surprised if he was aware that earthworms are both male and female at the same time.

They can also sense magnetic fields through a sensory neuron, so they know which way is up and down. So, I guess if a lady worm gives good vibes, then they hook up.
Now we need a retro handheld vs android phone emulation video
the bad thing about retro handhelds is you dont get the enjoyment of wasting a couple of hours configuring an android device :)
@LuisMontes some do
And vs the iPhone as an “also-ran” (I have an iphone 😢)

I’d say the title worked then, lol
Checks for (air) strikes.
Any small handheld can stream your desktop at 1-2ms latency with moonlight. It's incredible. So as long as you save big games for local you're gtg.
Not really, you need a good WiFi setup with at least wifi6 or 6e
@deluge6479 everyone has that. Who doesn't have WiFi 6? It's been out like eight years.
Doesn't moonlight only work with Nvidia gpu's?
@@DOG66619 there's similar tech called parsec. But I think you're right about moonlight.

The worm bits were so unexpected. You have a knack for casually dropping in outlandish bits that have nothing to do with the subject. Love it.
Showed up for the mini PC debate, stayed for the worms.
The worm bit LMAO.
Fires a Bazooka at LMAO
The squiggleziggle position is great but cant beat the squishysquashy one.

TechDweeb, where we come for the tech and stay for the worms?
"worm love"...
now there's words i didn't anticipate i would here today...
I'd be mildly curious to see how they both perform with an eGPU connected.
The question we ALL should be really asking is this:
"Are feet shoes?"
can’t play that mini pc on airplane unless you also bring a monitor, mouse, keyboard, controller. and than get a seat that has a power outlet
This is exactly the video I needed (minus the worms).
Was gonna like the video after I finish lol'ing . But joke's on me I had already liked it.
@TechDweeb- Best worm karma sutra position- The Earthworm Jimmy Jam
I prefer just doing the worm, as my favorite wormastura imo.
You literally read my mind with this video dweeb, thanks for covering this ✌️
Handheld vs mini pc was interesting too I guess.....
If anything, I'm more interested in the comparison between the two SERs. 🧐
Would have been good if you also commented on the sound level coming from the ROG Ally. Was it noisy?
Uhh the Ser8 doesn’t include the price of peripherals, monitor, controller, so they’re probably more equal?

This doesn't have anything to do with the video but I would really like a video of you talking about hidden gem RPGs you have played

The steam deck can easily emulate most ps3 games. Same goes for ally, legion go or most mini pcs. Ideally with a 680m or 780m iGPU.
