i love this clock - each crystal is an hour - that crystal fills up to be one hour - each full crystals rotation is 1 minute i wonder what other synchronizations i'll discover thank you for the upload @GoofballTheCat

I accidentally discovered the ps2 clock 22 years ago during one of the most difficult and painful times of my life. it was like finding a small oasis of peace in the middle of an endless raging ocean. for hours at night, i would sit and listen to the gentle waves wash over me as i watched the clocks intricate patterns marking the steady passage of time. in some ways, id say that the ps2 clock gave me assurance and tranquility at a time when i had neither. thanks for posting this. it really takes me back... not in a bad way... but in a way that reminds me of the peace i felt back then and the gratitude i feel now that i made it through those dark times and live a life full of peace, love, and joy.... even though it wasn't a quick process, just want to say "thank you, eternal ps2 ocean clock, for helping me pass the time that it took to weather the storm long enough to see the sunlight again."
@@picklesrevenge please, the clock has also done so much for me. This sound alone gives me something to focus on, and helps me concentrate. I'd be in deep mud if it weren't for this thing.
I only wish that modern UI design incorporated the mysterious auras that we see in the 6th generation of consoles. It seems that as technology got better everything was dumbed down to get easier, and as a result, we lost the charm.
Mostly because it was cooler, but also because companies used to actually care about how fun the games and consoles were. now they just care about money and not really anything else.
It is still amazing how they managed to visualize clock like this in 2000. You can technically tell exactly what time it is by only looking at those spinning orbs and rotating cristals. 12 crystals symbolize 12 hour marks on an analogue clock. The one highlighted is where the hour hand would be at that time. Other crystals rotate around its axis and a full rotation takes exactly 60 seconds. There's also some sort of liquid inside the highlighted crystal that slowly depletes over time and once the full hour passes the next crystal fills up.
@@MTCTplI think the complicated part is figuring out what math formulas and what values were used, the programming part must be simple since the objects are mostly rotating (if not entirely)
I used to put this on while I was vibing in my room, and I'd pretend that it was like an advanced AI. I'd whip up all kinds of imaginary scenarios where I could talk to it, and it would talk back. It would "activate the defenses" or "run the numbers on the latest formula." Just make-believe stuff. I miss those days. (Yes, I was a lonely kid with few friends, a difficult home life, and a very vivid imagination.)

So are we all gonna keep ignoring the fact that the glass refraction effect was like… NEVER used in games? Until PS3
Wait what are you sure? I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen a few games with that effect but I might be wrong.
im pretty sure it was used in the dot hack quadrilogy? (could be misremembering.)

the passion of many things died due to profit driven management. the economy has an effect on that.
This is great. I have many channels I listen to at bedtime. Can we get a 24hr version, so we can start this in real time? That'd be pretty dope.
yeah from 00:00 to 00:00 xd
Imagine falling asleep listening to this and still listening to it till you fall asleep again the next day
you know you can just have it loop right

It's too bad that PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 don't have the display like that.
