I used to put this on while I was vibing in my room, and I'd pretend that it was like an advanced AI. I'd whip up all kinds of imaginary scenarios where I could talk to it, and it would talk back. It would "activate the defenses" or "run the numbers on the latest formula." Just make-believe stuff. I miss those days. (Yes, I was a lonely kid with few friends, a difficult home life, and a very vivid imagination.)

It is still amazing how they managed to visualize clock like this in 2000. You can technically tell exactly what time it is by only looking at those spinning orbs and rotating cristals. 12 crystals symbolize 12 hour marks on an analogue clock. The one highlighted is where the hour hand would be at that time. Other crystals rotate around its axis and a full rotation takes exactly 60 seconds. There's also some sort of liquid inside the highlighted crystal that slowly depletes over time and once the full hour passes the next crystal fills up.

I accidentally discovered the ps2 clock 22 years ago during one of the most difficult and painful times of my life. it was like finding a small oasis of peace in the middle of an endless raging ocean. for hours at night, i would sit and listen to the gentle waves wash over me as i watched the clocks intricate patterns marking the steady passage of time. in some ways, id say that the ps2 clock gave me assurance and tranquility at a time when i had neither. thanks for posting this. it really takes me back... not in a bad way... but in a way that reminds me of the peace i felt back then and the gratitude i feel now that i made it through those dark times and live a life full of peace, love, and joy.... even though it wasn't a quick process, just want to say "thank you, eternal ps2 ocean clock, for helping me pass the time that it took to weather the storm long enough to see the sunlight again."
