This isn't a 100% solution -> Light Wavelength: Red light therapy panels use LEDs that emit specific red and near-infrared (NIR) light wavelengths, typically around 660nm and 850nm, which are believed to be therapeutic. Halogen lamps emit a broad spectrum of light, including some red light, but not at the concentrated and beneficial wavelengths needed for red light therapy.
Light Efficiency: Halogen lamps waste a lot of energy generating heat and light across the spectrum. Red light therapy panels use LEDs which are much more efficient at producing the specific red and NIR wavelengths for treatment.
Safety: Halogen lamps can get very hot, potentially burning skin. They may also emit some ultraviolet (UV) light, which can damage skin cells. Red light therapy panels are designed for safe use on skin.

Your video is very informative. Thank you. I like the illustrations! Research has shown that consistency of use is the key to results found with RLT. So, I tried a RLT face mask. It was expensive, when I purchased it a year ago.I followed the manufacturer's recommendation for minutes of use and frequency of use. I do self-massage on my face. My 70 year old face has changed. The skin behaves like younger ,plumper ,more elastic skin, even under my chin. The visible sun damage has diminished. I now make sure to sleep 8 hours each night and eat foods ,daily, to help my body to make healthy skin.Sunscreen and moisturizers are essential to my skincare, now.

The photos of your face are not identically illuminated. In the "old" image you can see two tiny reflected spots over the pupil in each eye. In the "wow, it's shiny," the reflected illumination image is clearly much, much bigger/brighter. I'd be far more impressed with two images using identical lighting.

His before photo even looks better. But, I need something like this 4x bigger or more. Put in in the wall. $100-$200. They should be able to do this with cheap plastic OLED printing. But potentially poisonous material. The ones they use in phones with very high efficiency, have different reject formulations that give different frequencies. Rejected due to not enough life span. At $100-$200, it would not matter.

They always do this. How difficult would it be to take photos in the same room but no; here's me in London and here's me in Hawaii 😎
Also the way he talks about the numbers of LED matters; LED have a long lifespan with a proper power supply. You're only going to use this thing for 5 minutes a day. A regular light bulb from IKEA lasts years being on for 16 hours a day.
If anything this thing powering 1800 LED's without a good power supply would cause it to last shorter. And the whole thing about uniformity...I don't know, it's a flexible panel that you move around, I think 300 LED's for your face alone is enough unless each LED only covers a very tiny area like 5mm.
I think this is paid promotion but presented in a sneaky non-sponsored way.

  • @MitoRedLight
    @MitoRedLight 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +62

Hi - this video is very well done. One correction we would make - it is is not necessarily true that the more LEDs there are the longer they will last. LED chip efficiency depends on a large number of factors including: the class of compound semiconductor used to make the LED, the structure (doping, thickness, composition) of the semiconductor layers in the LED chip, electrode/contact design, light extraction structures added or created during fabrication of the LED chip, operating temperature and the current density. Current density is the amount of current per unit area of the LED chip. Of these factors, the most significant is the class of compound semiconductor used to make the LED chip.
Furthermore, LEDs in panels like ours use focusing lenses (also increases efficiency) and are typically driven much lower than their maximum (25%-50%) - minimizing heat creation to help ensure longevity. The bottom line is that there are several variables involved in the LED package and panel design, which will determine efficiency and longevity.
If you've enjoyed the benefits to your skin, we'd suggest trying a more full body setup! All the best - Team Mito

Maybe you can do interviews with the researchers who came up with these studies? Since you're a doctor you can probably get access to them, and ask relevant questions.
Also, what about just going outside? If you are worried about UV, go outside in a shaded area? Like read a book in a gazebo? Won't you be exposed to the same red light? After all, white light comprises all the colors.
I'd wonder how this compares to just doing some cardiovascular/working out in a lighted environment? Cardio would have lots of the same benefits and more like lowering cholesterol, improving memory and neurogenesis Anyways, keep up the good work.

Red is more specific to pain reduction and anti inflammation. Blue is more for acne reduction. So in your use case, you only need to get a red light panel.
Look up 'Alex Fergus' on TH-cam. He does massive break downs and reviews on different price options for red light panels, which he further subdivided by regions (to avoid having to pay import tax etc).
And if you want more information on red light therapy for anti inflammation/pain reduction, Google Rhonda Patrick Red light therapy. She has a big blog page where she consolidated all the information by use cases and lists the studies that back up her information.

    Interesting
$1800 device to provide convenient at home treatments taking only 5 to 10 minutes multiple times per week (makes it easy to reliably do treatment)
    Vs
Clinics charge $25 to $150 per session, not counting travel time to/from clinic and wait time at clinic. (More likely to skip treatments when you get busy.)
Plus can share device with spouse or family member.
    LED’s should last years.
But there are much lower cost units that still work. It would be interesting to test the wavelength and power output to see if manufacturer specs on the cheap units are close enough to provide benefit.

Obviously it is too soon to tell if it will help with hair growth but on the nights I use it, every other night, I sleep like a baby. It said to start with 5 minutes and work to 20 but I got the sleep benefit the very first night. I will continue to use it even if i don't have any hair growth. The cost was only 150. and I agree, try a cheaper one, you might be surprised. Not everyone can afford to spend a thousand on a light, even though we would love too.

If a red light Mfr claims it works for hair loss, the 3 lettered agencies may shut them down. I use a $99 tendlite, 3 times a day for 2 minutes each and YES IT DOES WORK FOR HAIR GROWTH. I have been doing this for 3 years and it is hard to believe but it doesn't happen overnight. When I first started, I really didn't think it would work so I only did on one spot on my head. After about a year, I said, holy crap, this actually works and I had to start doing the middle of my head and my back bald spot. So now I am at a total of 6 minutes a day per in 3 locations for a total of 18 minutes. There is 100% chance this is true and works, at least for my 66 year old head.

So I understand very little about EMFs and trying to figure out the hack recommended to reduce them. I believe it's important for health and safety when using panels and mats. Question... how does the jameco device connect to the regular two-prong wall plug for use with a panel?
