    One of the reason I got the UniQ is the electrobrush socket.I will be getting one at some point but I wish Miele would have offered the option of an integrated electrobrush with remote handle controls.

    Mine did come with the SEB236 power nozzle; the one with the headlight. I do love the velvet bumper, handle controls (suction, brush roll and power), and how it cleans the carpet. It's so easy to use and the air coming out of it smells so fresh (even with six indoor pets). is never any dust in the bag compartment either; outside of the bag that is. I will always own one of these now. I love using it so much that I vacuum the stairs, furniture and floors with it daily. I even dust with it.

    Miele U.K. do not currently offer any cleaners with a power head after discontinuing the S5 Revolution series.

    Uniq is the only S8 in the UK with electrobrush socket so you can purchase SEB236/234 that separately and use it.
    I've tried it myself at the Miele London Gallery!

    The UniQ here is sold a bit different here in the States. No dynamic drive wheels, the controls are on the handle, and comes with the parquet twister and a SEB 236. With an extended warranty: 5 years parts and labor & 10 year motor and encasing warranty.

    Which model are you referring to on the website as all the S8's have +- controls and I can't see any that have remote controls. The S6370 has a radio remote control but no powerhead. I have an S4 with a radio remote so I don't need to get an S6 version. The Miele website is full of errors since it was updated recently, for example the S8 Cat & Dog is shown with a powerhead not available in the UK and it states that the S8 UniQ has a 1200 Watt motor, not a 2200 Watt motor that the UK version has.

    What a gorgeous vacuum! I'm currently trying to decide between the Fresh Air, Alize and Titan canister. The Titan has the power brush and parquet floor tool, but the Alize and the Fresh Air have the the most useful features.

      ***** If you have lots of wall to wall carpet, I would go for a power brush model.

    I think the velvet lining of the attachment case might be designed for a nice finishing touch but also to insulate the sound of the motor even more.

    I do envy your purchase. The 2200 watt version is no longer available as far as I can see. So I had to settle for the less powerful 1600 watt version. So I'll probably have to use twice as long time to vacuum my house.

    I bought the C3 Brilliant, which replaced S8 UniQ. Unfortunately, it did not come with the handle light, velvet-lined attachment compartment, metal buttons, metal intake collar, or the suction setting buttons / symbols on the canister (it does have them on the handle). I thought I was paying for the Brilliant because I thought it would come with those but the only thing that differentiates it from the Homecare is the velvet bumper, brown metalic paint, and lights on the side of canister. If I knew it wasn't going to come with all those features I wanted, I would have got the Homecare. The Brilliant also does NOT come with the 10 year warranty that the Homecare does. That was also a disappointment.

    It varies, but currently I am using my Morphy Richards Lift Away upright the most.

  • @ibaisaic

    I like them both, but I would pick the S7 over the UniQ. If Miele produced an S8 with remote controls and electrobrush for the UK market, I would probably pick the S8.

    Quiet an impressive one you have there Roger lol It may be a lot of money but you can't take it with you! i think it's Miele S6 or AEG UltraOne time this month for me the TOL UltraOne is in brown too and has the powerhead.

  • @Cleaning_Hero
    @Cleaning_Hero 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't believe Miele power nozzles are nearly $300 US. That's insane, although the SEB236 does clean better than my Rainbow's power nozzle. I think the heft of it helps it weigh down against the carpet and create more of a 'seal,' forcing the airflow up through the carpet instead of across the surface.

    i phoned up miele (uk) and they said that the UniQ came with a parquet brush, the turbobrush,a turbo mini and the standard floorhead, I'm not sure why yours doesn't have them.

      +Calvin Wai Probably because the person from Miele has worked there two weeks and doesn't know what they're talking about.

      ibaisaic Do you think it would be possible to do a performance demonstration of the S8 UniQ? Thanks for the review though

  • @imhsn
    @imhsn 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Totally agree with you, abysmal decision by Miele GB to stop offering Revolution models.
    I was tempted to order one in from Germany but after house improvements don't nearly have as much stubborn carpets so think I'll stick to the Uniq and get the electrobrush for upstairs.

    Nice vacuum. It's possible to upgrade castors on this to Dynamic Drive units, which make Uniq handle like the Alize.

    • @TomVacuum
      @TomVacuum 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure this does have that feature already

    • @mattheviewer
      @mattheviewer 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've read the Euro versions of UniQ do have Dynamic drive, but The USA versions of the Uniq or the Brilliant do not (My USA UniQ certainly did not have Dynamic Drive).

  • @imhsn
    @imhsn 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    But the biggest question is, which do you prefer between the S7 Autocare Hepa and the S8 Uniq?

  • @NumaticVacuum

    Very nice Roger. I bet this is similar for you to unboxing your talking sensotronic all those years ago. How muxh did that sensotronic cost you, I hope you don't mind me asking? It must of been the equivelant to what this Miele costs now.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Sensotronic was about £150. I don't get very excited when unboxing vacuum cleaners these days, although unboxing a vintage Electrolux cylinder was quite exciting. Video to follow.

    A lower end S8 will clean just as well as this model. It's poor value really for the few extras you get. The light on the handle seems really useful though.

      ibaisaic I live in the United States and I just picked up the Brilliant and it's an amazing vacuum. The only issues that I do have with it is that you can't use a lot of the accessories because the vacuum controls are on the handle and not on the vacuum canister. The hose does not come off of the handle, and you cant add another aftermarket hose for longer reach because the vacuum is operated by the handle controls. I was looking at the Marin as well. The Marin is basically the same vacuum as the Brilliant now, without the handle controls and the LED lights on the canister, The color is different and is $400.00 cheaper than the Brilliant. If i was to choose again i might just choose the Marin. In the US the Brilliant is $1499.99 and the Marin is $1099.99. Thank You. Great Video!!
