Thank you for this video. My partner put our vacuum together, and today as i was vacuuming, the hose kept coming loose... After watching this video (we've thrown away the manual), i realised the hose was connected back to front, so no wonder it kept slipping out... Thank you!!
Can't wait to watch this. I know it would be a lot of hard prepping and editing but could you do a video on cleaning an old vacuum cleaner including what you use to polish the casing etc. Thank you
I've seen in other IBAISAIC vids that Roger uses uncommon plastic polishes to shine and protect but in case its of any use - you can get paint scuffs off the main shiny body of a Miele with isopropyl alcohol. I then use all purpose furniture polish thats suitable for plastics. HTH. I would like to see how Roger does it too.
If it is made in China then I do not want to see made in Germany prices. They moved production to China to cut cost so it should be reflected in the final retail price.
Some of the other Miele Machines are made in China.. The C-1 and C-2 are made in China and I suspect now tools are from China. I just purchased an "extra" C-3 and it had an "all plastic" rug and floor too ( as the one in this video has ) and I am certain it is from China.
Miele is also releasing an all-new stick vac this year. It’s supposed to be considerably more powerful than the Triflex, which will become the less powerful, budget option compared to the new one.
Thanks for sharing this. It's an interesting looking machine and they've definitely addressed some issues with the blizzard like the post filter being easily accessible. I still just can't help but that feel that it's just inferior to their bagged models and yet they have such a high cost. For the price they really should have a multi cyclonic system reducing the need to clean the pre motor filter.
I like look of this vacuum, but bagged Mieles are far better. Miele made this because modern people are brainwashed to buy bagless vacuums. Credit to you showing this vacuum and I appreciate it.
I agree but I also think bagless vacs are fine as long as they are maintained properly - and have a way to be maintained properly - and if the user does not mind cleaning them out frequently. Most people don’t maintain them, though.
Couldn't agree more. I hate bagless. I gave them a whirl with the Blizzard and the Triflex, useless when emptying, and I have severe allergies. If they could revolutionise the way the empty so that no dust is open to the air, they will get my vacuum business again. Thought maybe this would be the one. But nope. And made in China, forget it. Even the Triflex filters and battery are made in Germany. Hard pass on this one. I'm sure it's for the brainwashed Dyson crowd.
I haven’t seen this new vacuum for sale in the us, but it’s sad that it’s made in China when it’s the newest model besides their vacuums being higher priced.
This is the best sounding extremely high rpm suction motor I ever heard. Similar rpms to the tiny shark motor but, a lot more pleasant. Miele will probably implement the same motor as the Boost CX1 in their next generation C1 vacuum.
It's not Foxconn or some other party producing the vacuum cleaner in China, it's Miele's own factory. Keep in mind this is basically some plastic with an engine, and thus fairly easy to produce. Regarding the vacuum itself, it looks alright, but not amazing.
Also interestingly, a lot of German companies try to hide the fact they produce in China. Many times they don't even put the "made in" thingy on their products, instead they put the company's main office address on it. They always try to pretend it's produced in Germany, I think they're a bit afraid of lost business.
I got one here in the netherlands however it is black and red, it came with an airteq nozzle, comfort handle and the horse hair dustingbrish! I have it for 3 weeks now my Dyson cinetic big ball 2 is now on the attic in the miele box!
Love the redesign of the Boost CX1 compared to the Blizzard CX1. Made in China to either cut down on labor costs or because of availability of parts/components already produced in China? If Miele kept their manufacturing in Europe I would be fine with that…it doesn’t have to be in Germany. Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, etc. would be fine European nations to manufacture the Boost CX1. The amount of plastic used in the Boost CX1 tells me that aluminium is either too expensive or just hard to source from supply chain issues right now but it looks like high grade sturdy plastic. Overall a good first impression on Miele’s second generation bagless vacuum cleaner.
Would suggest that another category should be manouverability i.e. looking at that CX1 it strikes me that it will get caught on every single door jamb, table or wall it comes across - which ultimately leads to dents, scratches, and rage issues if not broken vacumms.
I hope it truly is a sealed system. The sealed system engineering in this appears to be a little more well designed than in the Blizzard. It also like how there is a black mesh filter with the premotor filter, and how the hepa exhaust filter is replaceable. I’m sure all the filters in it are replaceable, though, which is a plus. This wasn’t the case with the Blizzard. It’s coming to the US in a few months. I’m going to buy one if I can get it with a power nozzle.
Hope the first vacuum you show next year is the Dyson omiglide, and Dyson robot, you think you would ever try the new LG cordless vacuum that comes with smart emptying stand &mop head attachment
A manufacturer will never settle for less profit once gained. This device is not going to last, to make up for the losses in bag sales. Edit: Yeah, its made in China, there goes quality.
Thanks for the review! Why do Miele insist on using this type of filtration? A disappointment. It will probably have the same problem as my Blizzard which cuts off several times mid cleaning. I then have to clean the filter cartridge using the auto-clean or manually. Lots of their vacuum models are made in China nowdays. I have in my collection a Miele C1 and a C2, both made in CN. The quality seems ok though.
Sad they are becoming made in PRC. Hoping they come out with at least one more flagship bagged canister. I'll buy it regardless of cost and it will be my last Miele vacuum. Miele what were you thinking. Customers who buy ONLY Miele appliances, washers, dryers, steam ovens, ranges, fridges et cetera and now starting to fill in the line with made in that 3rd world Commie s***hole, no thanks. Thankfully don't need any appliances for the foreseeable future. God can't wait to see the day when their new W1 washer will be "Designed and engineered in GERMANY...assembled in PRC! SMH.
Well, its certainly more compact than the Blizzard, but looks more like a Dyson Big Ball canister. One area it is an improvement on the Blizzard is that you can change the exhaust filter, as on the Blizzard the exhaust HEPA filter is lifetime, built in and non user serviceable without dismantling the whole machine. It uses the same single cyclone separation method as most Shark vacuums and relies on the pleated pre-motor filter, much like the Blizzard does, but the Blizzard has a self clean motor on the pre-motor filter that the Boost does not, so its swings and roundabouts really between the two machines. The main deal breaker meaning I would not touch one of these with a forty foot bargepole is the words "Made in CN" - ie, made in China. At least all the other Mieles and all of them that I own are made in Germany. Sorry Miele, bad move, and it will cost you sales. I guess the only German brand now loyal to Germany is SEBO, but I cant imagine them moving production off to China any time soon.
I filmed a video after using this cleaner for a month. I doubt there will be another video on this machine as I am not a fan of bagless cleaners. You can see the other video here: th-cam.com/video/xWs4ahnfWoQ/w-d-xo.html
I really like the design but what I really hate is that MIELE put those two bigh wheels on it. Would have already purchased it, if there were rolls like on all other MIELE Vacuums. Now it can't go sideways; only back or forward. So much less flexibility :/
Damn! Was quite excited to try it after the last I got was the Triflex, which I wasn't impressed on hard floors. But now this is made in "CN/PRC", forget it. Miele can keep it. I make it a point to buy as little from PRC as possible. Phones I buy are made in South Korea, all Miele appliances down to vacuums, clothing, shoes et cetera, cars, Germany and Italy. While I'm sure A great review as always from you, it's lost it allure not made in Germany. Mistake Miele. Many customers are very aware of what we purchase.
Miele? China? Oh dear me! This also just looks unnecessarily fussy and complicated for a Miele - I suspect they're seeing sales decline because they sell a range that's pretty much unchanged for a decade so now they're following the fashion with the Tri-Flex and now this - they both look overpriced and fiddly. I'll stick with my S7 and C3 that are both ancient but as good as the day they were bought.
I also have the C-3 ( Made in Germany ) and the C-1 and C-2 are made in China. The quality of the "plastic" is better with the German machines.. I don't care where the tools are made, but the actual machine ???
I don't think it's just a fashionable trend. People these days want something streamlined, small, light weight, easy to store and use. As good as they are, Miele vacs are clunky and very heavy. I'm on the market for a vac and the bulk of Miele's is a big drawback for me
Even though the UK left the EU, we still have EU laws and regulations in place and will continue to do so. The UK government would have to repeal every individual EU regulation they deem to be unnecessary. With the current green agenda, it is highly unlikely that high energy vacuum cleaners will be allowed to be manufactured again.
It's weird. Here in the US it's harder to get a domestic straight suction vacuum than It is to get a power nozzle canister. Just the opposite in the UK.
Surly you knew when you were in boxing the tools it was cheap plastic.Listen to the sound of the tools as you handle them and leave them on the ground.Look at the floor head underneath, no stainless steel on the floor head, must be a world shortage I think not.I just bought the cat and dog to replace my previous 17year old cat and dog and somehow instead of an improvement it's like a Chinese copy of a miele.Cheaper thinner plastics, only one turbo brush. No on off park feature like the old one.Cheap looking and feeling floor tools.Whats happened at miele hq.???
Hopeless PRO: - stylish looks (but this is where it all ends) CON: - rather short power cord - disappointing suction - difficult to move on the floor (wood and short bristle carpet) - poor handle design (because of the curved shape, the hand constantly tends to slide forward on the handle) - unreasonably highly priced I must say, this is my second Miele vacuum. I was not over the moon with the first one, but thought would give it another chance. And I regretted it. On a different note: overall bagless vacuums in my opinion are just an impractical trend. First they put HEPA filters in and tell you the exhaust air is cleaner that your room air, then you have to open the canister and empty it in a plastic bag letting the very dust you trying to avoid inhaling, around your face while the dust is migrating from the canister to the bag. What was wrong with the bags that would contain the dust and have a closing valve?
Hi Roger i’m called Nathan but if it says Helena up there that’s my mum‘s name I play on her phone a lot and I’m commenting to say that I watched your channel for ages
The sad fact of it is as good as they are Miele vacuums are too heavy and cumbersome for modern consumers. They are extremely well made, there's no doubt, but the sheer size and weight of their models is a big incentive to go for a dyson or a cheaply made model instead. They need a streamlined model, the boost seems to be it
Damn, even Miele starts to make stuff in China. Shame! I'm very disappointed in Miele. I understand that manufacturing in Germany might be pricy, but they still could've stayed in the EU. For example, they could've started manufacturing in Hungary, since the wages there are quite low.
They have actually been making certain things in China for a while now, and they still are very high quality machines, the only reason manufacturers go to China is because it’s cheap, and if their cheap then they also cute manufacturering costs making the product much worse. Miele spends the same on each machine in China as they do the ones made in Germany cause they wanted to make quality machines (before going bagless) but still that would be a good idea
I agree, its a VERY bad move Miele shipping production off to China, as that puts paid to me ever buying another one. The main reason for buying Miele was the renowned German build quality, so now they become the same old shoddy junk as most of the other stuff China churns out.
The difference is, it is Miele’s factory and not a third party manufacturer producing Miele designs. Not all Miele vacuums are made in China, just select models at the moment, but who knows, more production may move to China in the future.
Moving to China not necessary means that quality will worsen, but manufacturing in China will only make them stronger. And I don’t think that’s a good thing since they hate westerners. If they really wanted to cheapen the costs they still could’ve tried India, or as I’ve said a poorer country in EU.
@@匿名的-1 that's a short sighted view that only benefits shareholders. Moving production to China or India just provides said countries the expertise to copy your products and release their own cheaper version. That's what we're already seeing in other industries. Moving to a poorer EU country i agree is a better compromise
oooh exciting!! I started watching on my phone but had to move to a bigger screen when I saw it was a Miele! I like how it has a replaceable filter - I don't like lifetime filters. The mesh business does look like a place for animal fluff to accumulate and maybe need alot of attention. The IBAISAIC channel makes it look so do-able to have (and keep getting) lots of vacuum cleaners :S
Sounds quite cheaply made. Disappointing as I would like something small, light bagless and capable of dealing with per hair. Hate things that are fiddly as am hypermobile and have difficulty flipping clips etc.
You'll be lucky to find a German made Miele appliance soon. It will be interesting to see where the new models due to be released next year are manufactured.
Its funny how you said « they are too embarrassed to write made in china 😂 obviously you have no idea where your quality iphone is made, or your quality EV car, or… oh yes pretty much everything 😂😂😂 because europe is not able to make anything quality anymore (dont get me started on the UK not being anle to make anything at all…)
I wouldn’t be stupid enough to own an electric vehicle, especially as we have a caravan to tow that was built in Hull. I am well aware where my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, my Kef Speakers and Audiolab Hi Fi separates are made too. I can guarantee that all Miele vacuums will be made in China within the next five years when there will be a further drop in quality. Plenty of quality goods can be made in the UK and Europe but consumers are used to cheap Chinese imports and won’t pay for stuff that lasts.
@@ibaisaic yes you are right there are cheap imports from everywhere, i also buy from english primark my white basic tshirts, and im sure the 200$ white tshirt from Kanye West is much much better quality, but i dont need it. To say that China ONLY makes cheap low quality or genetalize that everything made in China is shit is different. When was last time you went to China (or at all)? Or are you getting your info from the BBC? So you know china is building thorium power plant in the desert, went o the moon several times, built 36000km of high speed train the past 15 years (im not talking about the french TGV which is low speed), clean metro, robots for service, etc. Please get your info right and stop generalizing what the 15 years old stereotype taught you. Im in switzerland we are proud to make the best quality watches, and in the 70s the japanese invented quartz watches, we had to adapt. Is a swatch less precise than a Patek Philippe, surely not. I definitely prefer a Patek, but the fact is cost 1000 times is only up to my taste and means, i would say swatch is cheap imports…
@@ibaisaic and the Nio ET5T will go up to 1200km in 1 charge and can tow you caravan. The bonus is the tow ball/bar is retractable (because when you dont tow anything its very ugly)
I’m basing my opinion on the quality of most Chinese made products based on my actual experience of owning and using them and comparing them with products made in Europe or the UK. I have some high end brands made in China that have stood the test of time, but they are the exception rather than the rule. For example a German made Sebo vacuum cleaner is far, far superior in build quality and reliability than a Chinese manufactured Shark, Vax, Hoover or any of the major vacuum brands available in the UK that are made in China. I’m old enough to remember when you could buy British made appliances, clothes, household products etc and they were better made and built to last more than a year or two before being thrown away. As for getting my information from the BBC, I haven’t watched main stream media for many years. I tend to base my views on my personal experiences and common sense, which is why I avoided the procedure that was being pushed on the world a couple of years ago. My partner makes the car buying decisions in this house and I can guarantee that the next car will be petrol or diesel if we are still towing our heavy British built caravan.

- disappointing suction
- difficult to move on the floor (wood and short bristle carpet)
- poor handle design (because of the curved shape, the hand constantly tends to slide forward on the handle)
- unreasonably highly priced
I must say, this is my second Miele vacuum.
Miele seems to be going down here.
I like it so far.
Can you please make a video about hyla brand vacuum cleaner
No, they are too expensive and not widely available in the UK. I don’t like water filtration vacuum cleaners.
@@ibaisaic Ok, thank you for replying to my comment. I'm happy

Nice video ❤️
Miele should stick to what they are good at which are bagged vacuum cleaners
I don't think it's quiet machine. It works very loud.
oooh exciting!!
The original Blizzard looks much better IMO.
Now all is made in China, of course, i speak about Argentina. My english not is good, i aprecciate correctins in my redactions.
I would have thought it would have been made in Germany. For shame.
😇
That’s one sexy vacuum
As long as it didn’t give you a semi.
@@ibaisaic I can neither confirm or deny that Rog 😅
there goes Miele 😪
Well, it's not for some reason. It's because of Brexit :D
Piece of junk. It’s like pushing a four wheeeler around the house. Moves like a tank. Returned it.
Sounds quite cheaply made. Disappointing as I would like something small, light bagless and capable of dealing with per hair. Hate things that are fiddly as am hypermobile and have difficulty flipping clips etc.
If you hate things that are fiddly, get a bagged vacuum.
good review. Sad its made in china. If i buy Miele i want it made in Germany
You'll be lucky to find a German made Miele appliance soon. It will be interesting to see where the new models due to be released next year are manufactured.
Cordless, yes please…. Bagless, please no…. BE WELL

My partner makes the car buying decisions in this house and I can guarantee that the next car will be petrol or diesel if we are still towing our heavy British built caravan.
nice design, just wish it didn’t have that awful shiny plastic and wish it wasn’t bagless…
nothing Special about German build quality these days
