i don't disagree, a clean reboot would have been preferable, but from a studio standpoint Peacemaker is one of the most successful things they have done in years and if all that ties it to the DCEU is the Justice League at the very end I think it makes sense to keep it. Hopefully it won't be a mindfuck to explain to people.

Cavil and Gadot were great as their respective superheroes, but they also represent an era of DC movies that the vast audience gave up on. Peacemaker is a hit that people love (which is largely separate from the DCEU minus one scene), we don't know if Margot will stay as Harley, but if she does stay, she has become one of the most iconic and well received versions of Harley to the point you see countless people cosplaying as her (geek or normie). As for blue beetle, it suffered the backlash of a failed DCEU as well as coming out during a time where people still weren't going to theaters, plus blue beetle's story is almost entirely disconnected from the DCEU so it can work.
He should have left Suicide Squad and Peacekeeper out of canon.
