All Weapon in DD2: dragonsdogma2.wiki.fextralife.com/Weapons
I just... think about Elden Ring (I know, groannnn), but you couldn't release this video for Elden Ring. Because there's SO many weapons that could be argued as 'the best' (I know mathematically etc etc). It just hit home when during the video, for a class or 2 you said that a couple of the best weapons for that respective class you could get quite early and that would last you until end game :(
These are great tips that you’re giving, but I wanted to add something else to what you said there’s a tower close by to the battal checkpoint as well and if you wait till it gets dark, there’s a big ass warrior skeleton, holding that great sword that you were talking about. If you defeat him you can get that same sword which is more worth it because you don’t have to spend any gold that’s another alternative you could do as well. I thought I would just add that in as well. If you wanna avoid using your goal, you could also do that wait till it gets dark and fight. The warrior skeleton with the great sword but there’s also another area where you can fight a sorcerer in the area as well when it’s dark and you can get their staff as well. It’s a pretty good staff. It’s in the area where there’s a cluster of those blue luminescent flowers, and where the buffalo are sitting down and laying on the floor. I’m sure you’ll know what I’m talking about. But yeah if you wait till dark and you hang out in the area the sorcerer is there and if you beat him, you can get his staff which is really good.
Do a best armor pls
Best armor gives you the dragonforge man
Best looking armor, please. Obviously biased but this would be fun to watch seeing all different pairs.
@@donniedingles656that’s totally personal preference tho tbf
@@SUPERMegaGaGaTV2thats wrong i got better armor from drops killing Dragons
I’m gonna flank you
I got frosted edges before I got anywhere near Battahl. Some legend out there put them as the reward for a pawn quest. Couldn’t hire that pawn fast enough 🤣
Whenever i find an equipment not of my class, or have no need for an old one, i always just hire a low level pawn, dragonforge the item and equip them with it.
Im at a point now in game where i have my equipment and everything maxed, so not only do i have no need for gold, but also wyrmslife is stacking up in my inventory too, so instead of just hoarding currency, imma equip random ass low level pawns in full late game dragonforged gucchi
That's a good idea, i may start doing this. Weapons i don't use or need, i may add them as a reward...i like this!!
I got the tintreach staff from a pawn quest I like how the devs allow people to give incentives for hiring their pawn.
🫡😉
Admittedly I haven’t done any of the main quests I’ve just been exploring and laying port crystals at various towns. I’m level 50 and having a great time.
Found out the hard way that port crystals don’t save for new game plus. They go back to your stash which is nice, but you have to set them back up again
You are gonna rip through the story then
@jordanscott4543 ho no. Thanks for letting us know tho😊
Thanks for sharing this lol. I’ll probably do the same if I can
@@jordanscott4543good to know I’m also level 50 before new game I was wondering if I would have to go pick all those up before beating the main quest
You’ll not make it to the volcanic isle without significant headache at a low level, but you can hide in the center of the black boxed ox cart behind the paneling and get through the checkpoint rest town border gate. You then go south and get on the sky lift to get to Bakbattahl.
Yes...even gives you an achievement for it 👍
Man I went some cryptic route and dodged the border and instead took a monster ridden fucking path it was hell
assuming the griffion doesnt attack u while ur riding it
The third way is through a cave east of Checkpoint, right next to the broken bridge. It's actually not TOO hard, as it's mostly hobgoblins and one golem, and golems are probably the easiest big enemy for anything other than a pure magic class. You can also just run past the thing for how slow it is. The important thing is, this path may be dangerous (and the other end has gore harpies which can stunlock, and an occasional griffin, so you have to be careful when emerging), but it takes you right through the Bay Shrine area with the Dragonforge and straight to Bakbattahl. Overall, it's a lot less running through insanely tough encounters to get to Bakbattahl compared to jumping the border and going the long way. Do the cart for the achievement though.
You could also get arrested on the Battahl side by getting beaten up by a guard, if you have a gaol key. That warps you to Bakbattahl and you can just jailbreak then.
@@bluebirdjay4592 did that on my first play through. The harpies kept throwing me over the cliff lol
3 General points that I have to point out:
1. For all non-permanently enchanted weapons (weapons with no Magick), upgrades using Batthali smithing style is the best because it focuses more on increasing Strength.
2. For Staves, Archistaves, & Magick Bows (regardless of permanent enchantment), upgrades using the Elven smithing style is excellent because the style focuses on increasing Magick.
3. For duospears (has balanced mix of Strength & Magick) and all permanently enchanted weapons (except enchanted weapons that only have Magick), upgrades using Dwarven smithing style is great because not only it increases both Strength & Magick, it also adds Knockdown Power.
This was useful AF. A similar armor guide would be appreciated.
For fighter I fast travelled to that midway checkpoint town and bought the frost imbued sword
Same. I'm surprised they left that out. It's really strong.
Bro ive seen all your videos and they helped me a lot....you doing a great job !! Keep it up 🔥🔥🔥🔥
These videos are gold. Thank you so much
the video i’ve been waiting for
Daughter of the evening shield to petrify the Medusa is such a cool reference. Which makes this game more incredible.
What is it referencing? I'm really curious
Allways a pleasure to watch your guides❤❤
I was just about to buy a mage staff in checkpoint's rest and decided to head to sacred arbor instead, thanks! Great tips!! Got my warrior a flamberge too! Was using 2 hander and like ironclad staff or something at level 23 ... don't do what I did, get good weapons asap...
thanks for this video guys!!
This is a great video, thanks man
Love these videos, they are quite helpful! Yes, please do create videos for rings and armors.
You sir are amazing! Started following you from Diablo and now i come to your vids for everything! Tis vid is awesome it helps so much an armor one would be great as well
nice work
thank you for the content
Very helpful thanks!
if you or your pawn are an archer and got the extra carry weight, i recommend the medusan spellbow (the name makes it sound like a magic archer bow but it is an archer bow) once you get to battahl. it weighs 15kg and increases skill stamina consumption, but it's stronger than revenant wail and dragons blink and gives you 4x xp when landing the killing blow on an enemy. might not be a bow for end game but the massive xp gain is worth using it for a while in my opinion
I think the Dowsing Daggers deserve a mention. If you're diligent about collecting seeker tokens (and use a map) you can get them without leaving the eastern area, and they're pretty strong compared to what else is available at that point.
Yes rings and armor also fextra ❤❤❤❤
Fextra, keep at it guys💪💯
Dude didnt even mention dwarven smithing is the best form and none of these are BIS weapons lmfao
@@coneceptleone8091 He said BIS was gotten at endgame and that the choice there is a nobrainer and didn't see anypoint in doing end endgame
@genadineholychild it's not a no-brainer there are non elemental and elemental daggers that do almost the same damage elemental just being lower so technically is BIS over what he thinks is bis. His video is titled best weapons for vocations not best starting... I concede.
Thanks for this, time to go weapon hunting :)
Can you do the best armour for each class? Especially Warfarer since you can literally put anything on that vocation so mixing around would be super awesome there!
I love you Fextralife. ❤
Do armor and rings please 🙏🏻 also I see your subscribers has nearly doubled since the release of DD2 congratulations Fextra! 1 million is probably days away 🎉
thanks for this, may warfarer build is getting closer
I have to upgrade warrior thief and MA tho and ranger
Love it that you give advice for upgrades. Still Hours in to the game Never Upgrade anything❤
Great video thanks
This video came at the right time! I have been noticing the icons (smithing styles) are different whenever I upgrade mine and my pawn’s gear but didn’t pay much attention to them.
I’m sure the game mentioned smithing styles at some point but I probably wasn’t paying too much attention since the game is so good, ha!
Will check the other videos or the wiki for a full breakdown of the styles.
Thanks Fextra!
I don’t think it does mention that I think it’s just something they expect the player to infer
Dwarven Smith be the best 3 Dwarven upgrades then dragon forge it all knock down on bosses is so nice made a Griffin break his neck when I froze him and my pawn knock em outta the sky as it got frozen solid fell to the ground with 2 health bars left and died was surprised 😮.
I saw something in game saying elves make the best elf gear or something but I definitely didn't see much so not sure. Also heard you may need a beast man or mask to get past one of the gates then saw a beast mask and im like well at least if I need one I know where to go lol.
@shadowweaver1599 you can sneak psst the beast man guarding the Gate of u take the long way around the rest town checkpoint the lil ravine off the to the side takes u straight to Batthal and no Elves have the decent enhance but Dwarven is just better because it buffs everything but gives weapons insane knockdown to bosses and and knockdown resist to armor apparently u can tank his if u have have knockdown resist so I went and help the dwarf man and his elf wife to get access to his skills.
@@YuYuMFDOOM I see. What's the stat spread on Draconic smith?
Thank you for this, my gear is lacking 🤣
I'm so glad this game has set chest rewards unlike the first game, no more godsbane retries in the everfall😫👌
*excellent timing on this btw, i just switched to archer for the first time and I'm in the checkpoint rest town. Time to grab that darkening storm bow
If anyone is looking for the black freakish mane to upgrade the Lion-Lord's Archistaff go to the waterfall cave where you started the game and in the largest room there will be either a Chimera or a Gore Chimera. Make sure to upgrade in elvish as it adds a ton of magic.
Well, for me, it's a good tell when I keep going back to it, and a bunch of hours sinked in even though my backlog is huge. This game is awesome.
question to the magick archer weapons:
The one magick bow you can buy in the elve village has higher stats than the dragon´s breath bow. Did you forget that maybe?
Just purchased that because I know I will unlock Magick soon :D
You can find the tintreach mage staff in the ancient battleground. It's one of the chests you unlock with the trebuchets.
Steeled Virtue is also available from the "TIl death do us part" quest, but considering you have to fight a Dullahan it might be better going for another option.
50 hours in and you just let me know of the different upgrade paths thanks for that had no clue 😂
Armor video? Yes, please!
Very useful…even for a gamer like me that loots the entire map or whatever’s accessible before story progression.
I think an armor and accessory thing would be great
The daggers are a pain in the ass to get because of them damn rock lizards lmaoooo they rolled my ass to smitherins about 10 times before I could even reach the chest. I'm suprised that you didn't mention that little hurdle
For a good mace in battahl if you want it:
The labyrinthus can be found in diggers ruins which is just a little bit south west of bakbattahl's main entrance (you'll go there in the regalia sword quest)
Its located in a chest on the (gore?) minotaurs nest.
Its basically the exhalted / flame variant but has better knockdown and does extra damage against minotaurs.
For mystic spearhands, I was able to get Deadbringer off the Dragon in Melve without shooting it with the ballista. I actually was playing a thief when I fought that dragon, and while using the basic light attack, the thieving core skill procced and stole the spear for me.
I’m not sure how reliable that is, but I was pretty pleased to have dead bringer as I swapped to Mystic Spearhabd
happend to me too, i was confused, how do I have such a good weapon
I won't be playing optimally. I made Guts.
But for the mystic spearhand I will definitely. 😀
Awesome video
good information
The censer from the sphinx questline, whenever you hit an enemy with a basic attack it gives you gold as well. Either 10g, 100g or a 1000g. Helps keep my coin purse a little loaded
Gonna do a new 100%ish playthrough and this will help a ton. First playthrough was fun but missed a lot of stuff and wasted a lot of gold trying so many weapons and armor.
The dragon daggers from the wyrmcrystal guy are reallllly good
The strongest mainstat weapons are actually from The Dragonforged npc for 110 WLC each, and 40 WLC for a shield. Most of them all also come with a secondary bonus (2h greatsword buffs damage the more health you've lost, for instance.)
Their main stats are buffed even further with enhancement ofc, and a 4th enhancement level from The Dragonforged npc enhancement once you've done 3/4 enhancement.
But i don't know if the raw stats beats some of the elemental weapons in the game that exist. At least for Magick Archer, raw stat seems pretty OP to the point that i'm spoiled by the damage (5s drake and dragon kills, for instance.)
thank you
I used dwarven upgrades for my duospear. The damage is pretty similar, but the knockdown power gets insanely high with dwarven upgrades.
yeah dwarfen is king for all weapon types, knockdown is such an overlooked stat. Even applies to spells
Weapons with elemental properties seem to benefit more from Elvin upgrades. As it boost both str and magic but more magic than str. Making the elemental modifier for enemies weak do even more damage. I’ve tested this with having two bows same and upgraded them with both styles of crafting and tested out the damage vs enemies weak to fire and the damage is higher if they are weak to fire and it’s very similar if not
Quick question, is the description of each piece of equipment just part of the Lore or is it actually an effect? For example, does Caged Fury actually increase damage the higher the HP?
For anyone struggling with killing the dragon with balista, make an Inn save and then change vocation to thief. Unlock the pilfer skill which let's you steal items from enemies and then go ham on the dragon. If you press the basic attack button very quickly, the thief vocation does continuous hits on the target making it an almost guaranteed steel from the dragon.
I wasn't able to kill the dragon after 5-6 tries so this is what I did.
Would kove to see a best armor for each vocation but also best drip.... Wanna see that Fashion Dogma
I herd the Stalwart Sword is a good powerful one to get you can get it later in the game from shops or if you want it early it has a 2% drop rate from dullahans if willing to fight them if you ca find them to lol i am having trouble.
You can get to later game area early like Bakbattahl there is a special covered carriage that goes through the checkpoint gate you can jump into just before or you can go around the long way i chose the carriage lol.
Just have a portable port crystal to place in the city as it has no fixed one annoyingly.
The Chaos Tine archistaff is really powerful early-mid game. You should try it and dont have to buy expensive items.
I got lucky and got the Medusa's bow. You get extra xp while wielding it. During the Sphinx riddles, I decided to have it replicated and gave it to my pawn. Talk about leveling up fast. lol
There's also a staff with the silence enchantment, I believe I got it from a lich. Gave it to my pawn ever since.
Please tell me what the staff is called
@@N0sdrinker I can't remember, but you can get the lich to spawn at the graveyard to the east of the checkpoint rest town. In the same direction of the quest where you have to find the kid taken by wolves.
I started a new game so sorry about that, but when I got to that area again and it became night the lich did spawn again. I'm guessing it makes sense as it is a graveyard. Hope this helps
@@N0sdrinker chaos trine
Just want to say that I always appreciate how detailed your video's are. They're clearly researched and not clickbait. Thanks!
Honestly the one thing I did with they did with dragons dogma was adopt the souls like enhancing system. It gave so much variety and spice to the play throught
The Wounded Heart Greatsword is stronger than the Greatswords you mentioned. It can be found in the Volcanic Island Shop.
Thank you, and please we need best gear for all ❤
Yes please for rings and armor, but if you could talk about unique effects on armor as some of the descriptions are misleading.
I unlocked mystic spearhand while playing thief. I had the dead ringer I guess I must have passively stole it during the dragon fight in Mel since that is the only dragon I have seen so far.
This can happen, my rogue in my party stole it for me
@@runeraven6307 same for me didnt kill it and wondered later how i got it lol was a pawn thief
Same with me. I don't know how i got this weapon, jut appeared on my inventory. And yes, it was after the fight with the dragon on Melve. But couldn't kill him, So i think there's another way to get it without having to. I was a fighter, so i don't think i stole. Maybe my pawn did, because he was a thief? (i didn't know that stealing was a thing in this game btw). On lvl 20 i got the best spearhand of the game. How lucky right
Yeah, i did a research and actually thieves have a perk that has a small chance of getting an item when attacking, so one of my hired pawns was a thief and stole it for me. Dawm, if i knew sooner i would like and gift a good item for this pawn, good fuckin job
@@gusjfyThief can steal from enemy they’re fighting if they have the skill.
If you are using vermindian style, I recommend to use dwarven style since it's the same but with more knockdown power. But it causes it to weigh a bit more
you can find tintreach in the area between bordertown and harve. shoot a trebuchet to destroy some rocks that cover a chest that contains tintreach.
What do you think of Siocadh vs Dragon's Breath?
Could you please explain how the hybrid strength and magic stats work on weapons? I was looking at the Heaven's Key and Dragon's Vein daggers trying to decide which was better
For Archistaves I'd say completely disregard Talarian White, as you can get not one but two Craos Tine staves from Wights near Checkpoint Rest Town. One is in the ruins just outside below the town to the East, the other one is in the Foggy Swamp right past the Ancient Battleground. Once you have that save for the Lion Lord or the Bane Archistaff (from Volcano Island)
The Flamberge is my favorite sword in every game I play.
There are several covers spread across the map, if you shoot it three times, it opens a hole where there are chests with equipment, rare coins and resurrection stones!
Finished the game lvl 38 and went back to keep exploring before doing to end again
All of these bows were damn near impossible to get in the first game. I remember completing BBI repeatedly just to get a lvl3 weapon drop, praying for Revenant Wail. However it was so worth it.
I helped Sigurd but was given a different duospear, "Fools Prize" definitely not Dead Ringer. Do you have to loot it off a certain location on the dragon?
I think Dwarven upgrades are the best upgrades for all weapons. They increase weapon knockdown by extreme levels.
yeah the damage difference is near negligible. id say dwarven is prob the most op
I’m pretty sure I got the Dead ringer duospear while fighting the dragon in Melve before I killed him. Was using a thief with plunder and stole it when we knocked the dragon down. I did manage to kill the dragon in that encounter, but it’s a good option to use the thief if you don’t think you can get the kill for the weapon.
Shouldve mentioned the dragonforged armaments but Ill let it slide
Should definitely do a video on those tho 🤝🏿
Sucks rerally hard that you cant find Sorcerer Items in Dungeons etc. :(
I was looking for second Dagger in location where first MA Bow was, which is great since I am trying to unlock MA to play after maxing Thief :>
I dropped Cardinal Staff earlier on, there's a quest a boy will be taken by wolfes. On the way there youll find a campfire next to thoso glowing flowers. Camp there, wake up at night, you will fight a mage skull, I thought that was the quest, it wasnt, I dropped this amazing staff hours before getting to the elf city
For daggers its worth saying that if you have a mage constantly giving you weapon firebuff or if you are specing in both thief masterskills then the most expensive daggers in checkpoint and volcanic are vastly superior to the elemental ones.
Dragon daggers are even more superior are they not?
the frost and fire duospears are both pretty darn good
Does carry weight start to NOT become an issue as the game progresses? I ask because I like that Vermundian lowers the weight of all the armors.
The Craos Tine Archistaff drops from a skeleton boss pretty early on…which I did not know and had already bought it from the elves shop 😢
This is me finding out upgrading weapons in different areas gives me different stats haha
Their is also the medusan spellbow for the bows, it’s strong buttt it weighs 15 kg, it greatly increases stamina consumption but killing things with it earns the wielder hefty experience.
Fex bro i love your guides but every weopon can be found easily in game you should be doing location guides ive spent nothing but upgrades lol
Is the dragons breath bow dmg that much more than the ice one from the elves? Little less dmg for constant cc/freezes might be a better trade off
I too second this question. They almost exclusively use the ice bow on their MA gameplay so it's really weird that, it got not even a mention
What's the point MA has a extremely powerful ice skill
@extrashifty578 It basically has that extremely powerful skill as it's enchantment which frees up a skill for you. However I do find that the enchantment cannot be overwritten which is contrary to DD1's way of enchantments. So that means unless using an elemental ability you are only doing frost
A lot of the elven names for weapons are actually Gaelic, Tintreach (Tin truck) actually means lightning
You can get dragons breath from from the dwarf and the elf at their house as well, just to save you a little bit of journey
I like the predator bow . Im keeping that til i get the revnant wail
Just an FYI the dwarf sells some of the best gear in the game for most vocations (excluding the end game dragon blood gear)
Ehhh Militant Dove is pretty powerful as a Magic Archer Main bow too. It's near infinite healing while standing still + Damage is pretty good. I think it's shots also do light/holy damage which does extra damage to the undead/ghost enemies.
Hey dude you're darksouls 3 boss guides are helping a ton right now
Armor please 🙏🏾. Thanks for your hard work 🙏🏾
I'd love to see a video with all armors in the game
What abt endgame duo spear? You do more damage the more time you don’t take damage, pretty useful id say
