All Armors in DD2: dragonsdogma2.wiki.fextralife.com/Armor
❌ stats
✅ style
Especially since the game is pretty easy ngl,
I've been looking at nexus mods and it has some really interesting difficulty mods, I might install some before progressing further
Fr I stopped caring about stats im trying to look dope
It's even more obvious to go for style > stats since the defensive augments are multiplicative bonuses (30%)
The offensive ones are additive (+30) so going for defenses and utility augments let's you just play around with armor options after lvl50+ since most things stop being much of a threat
@@PrimalDirective Does this same idea apply to shields as well, with the defense being augmented? Or do the best shields matter?
Fashion Dogma 2
In the Glymmercoal cave you can get Immaculate Blaze, probably the best thief armor in the game before endgame, also the best daggers before endgame can be found in the Coral Snakes hideout.
Not sure if anyone in the comments has mentioned this, but there is a quest you get in the castle court yard that takes you on a quest that unlocks one of the best armor and weapon vendor in the game. The vendor enhances the gear Dwarven style. Not gonna spoil who and the how, just go to the court yard and talk to the guards roaming about.
What u mean brother ? Couldn’t find it, a more in detail mb threw DM would be much appreciated 😄😊🙌🏻
Fun fact: you can get Morpho Robes from doing the Sorcerer Maister quest. It's the one where you can give 3 forgeried books to the guy and finishing that quest will open up an escort quest to Vernmund capital. I don't remember if it was the spellbound quest specifically or the escort that gave it to me but i distinctively remember him giving it to me. Cheers!
Might be based on Favor.
@@Fextralife strange, cause instantly right after the escort quest he was blushing. So you might be into something there
Escort quests increase Favor, so that's probably what it is.@@NoobsiferPainting
I turned in 5 forgeries and got the robe.
@@ilbte same! got the robe right after handing him the forgeries
Now I feel dumb for buying half the items he found lying around the world
You know your pawns have some dialogue describing this exact situation lol
Not dumb, you could always mod one for Magic resist and the other for Knockdown
Whatever its fun finding gold, crafting things to sell and getting upgrades. I feel like the economy was really well done in this game. Prices seem enough to feel like a reward but nothing absurd.
Tell me about it, I bought the warrior sword in the volcanic area, only to find the 2 hammers mentioned in the video 15 mins later while exploring.
@@TheJols The economy feels really wrong for the setting. Nobody in medieval times was walking around with 10,000 gold coins in their pockets. In real life a pure gold coin weighs 31 grams. Multiply that by 10K and you've got 683 pounds of gold in your pockets.
The economy is meant to push players towards the microtransactions. Its not meant to immerse you in the game's world.
Suggestion for these videos. Get the screen shots on a warfarer, so the armor appears on the character when you are looking at it in stores and the equipment page. Then person recording doesnt need to swap vocations for recording.
Normally I go amazing video , but this time I go thank goodness for your wiki guide and page , as well , you are a staple view on all games thank you
Glad to help!
Lots of missing info and mistakes.
I've wasted so much gold! :( :( :(
Yeah but there is more to life than min maxing. I appreciate fextralife for a lot of things but these "best in class" videos definitely put function over fashion. To each there own but... it is an RPG 😊
There is so much more to earn
It's not a waste if you made use of it
Fashion Dogma is the way to go
Fashion play style are always better 💪🏻
Been waiting for this one. Let’s go!
armor with crazy stats = no
fashion = YES
What i miss the most is the class based item sorting from dragons dogma 1. I hate looking through everything to see if my class can wear it.
Tricky? I think you nailed it! Brilliant video mate! 🍻
the video we’ve all been waiting for
When it comes to capes I have found that I prefer the abyssinal neck wrap because it offers resistances to the effects of annoying harpy attacks, which happen all the time. The comforting neck wrap is another good option, but I haven't yet run across an awful lot of enemies that can petrify. It doesn't seem to be as important as it was against the cockatrice.
Thanks bro!
They definitely should’ve made a male version of the charming corset
what do you mean, it's perfect
@@dependent-ability8631yea if your trans
that is the male version????
@@jhoch5 it’s clearly a female garb be for real
@@dependent-ability8631 For females yes, it looks ridiculous on a male character.
Best armor is the Corset from collecting seeker's tokens. It boasts more physical and magical damage than most combinations of chest and legs, i say most because you could technically go a bit above it in terms of physical defense at the cost of magical defense
Great game so far, great vid too for equipment. Initially I was not liking the game restriction on fast travel. However after playing for a while I’m glad they limited it for discovering areas. And I like that the stones to warp are limited 👍
Go Fashion. Style, not stats
If you play Thief and Spearhand, armor stats becomes a trivial thing. This 2 class can be literally untouchable with their skill. (Formless Feint and Mirror Shield).
I don't know about other vocations if they have this kind of broken skills.
For Sorcerer just cast the Augural Flare and Meteoron and boom fight is done.
Will you be doing end game weps and armour list? I just got to dragon forge so feel like I’m past all of this 😂
Honestly: outside of Fighter and Warrior being pretty much locked to dwarven enhancements, it feels like you gotta choose between knockdown resistances or defenses for some stuff. The same goes for some of the weapons actually. Some weapons will just fit better in a full DPS party comp that doesn't worry about downing the monster, while other weapons are great for synergy of knockdown power at the expense of raw damage.
I do kind of hope any potential DLCs make it so some of the armors that you stick with for fashion could be brought up a la Rarifying from Dark Arisen, but with a Monster Hunter Sunbreak endgame mechanic to pump the stats to be comparable. Or just give us a proper glamour armor system for those of us that would prefer looking cool; but hate having it effect stats so negatively lol
Once you hit a decent enough level armor hardly matters tbh. So once you are up there enough you could easily do fashion over stats and be fine.
For basically everything armor and weapon besides mage staff its dwarven or bust imo. The damage difference is so small that it doesn't really matter for the massive knock down increase you get. Same with armor not getting knocked down is so much more important than the small amount of defense you might lose.
@@Thotacus Yeah; the dwarven knockdown build up is so valuable I don't see any reason not to use it on any of the frontline vocations. Works well with Fighter, Warrior, some of Thief's weapons, and Mystic Spearhand. It basically makes Vermundian obsolete the moment you unlock it too lol
Battahli enhancements I think really only work for Dragon's Vein and Archer; since you want to eke out as much damage as possible for weak point damage.
And Elven is the obvious best choice for Mage, Sorcerer, and Magick Archer. You could make an argument for other elemental weapons, but I honestly think Dwarven is still better for frontline vocation's elemental weapons.
I wonder if we'll see Rarifying in any potential DLC; especially since they went a different route with how weapons and armor are dragonforged.
Why wait til volcanic island when you can get all that gear in bakbattal with a 10 percent discount too? And why go to the old dwarf out of the way when you can just upgrade your gear with the same vendor you can get the best gear with the discount?
Because you have to jump through hoops to get that.
I'm rockin the Strider set that was from DD1 for my Archer.
Awesome video. I would love to see an end game armor video. I haven't made it yet so it might be self-explanatory...
Thank ya was looking for a video like this lol
Question, new to this series. When I'm looking for armor, besides the stats, I read the text above the stats. Often times it will describe something that I interpret to be another function of the armor. For example, the Esoteric Vestment (the Sorcerer chest piece you recommended in Arbor) says it heightens mental fortitude. Does that actually do anything? Or the Elven Garb chestpiece that states it serves wielders of bows or magick exceptionally well. Does that give a buff to magick users and bow users? Just asking in general for armor, besides defense, magick def, Shash Res, etc, is there any "less obvious" details/buffs about armor/equipment that you recommend that sets it above the rest of the armor that you don't recommend?
In the original this was the case at least to a certain extent.
Are all the items from the dragonforged in NG+ BIS?
Can you explain why you picked this armor for warfarer? For example: isnt uncanny eyes better than the helmet you showed? I mean you fully focused on defense but magick defense is kinda low or am I missing something. Is the goal of warfarer to have the heaviest armor? I wennt for a build with evergreen pants, uncanny eyes and immaculate flame. I would like to know your reasons to pick those armor sets. Still cool video :)
I'm taking a guess, but maybe the knockdown resistance is better
Is the charming corset better than endgame gear? Keep in mind that that corset is body+leg armor combined, you can’t wear any legs with it.
I was wondering about this too, thought it was amazing until I noticed it takes up both armor slots, but doesn't look to have the stats to make up for the loss of leg armor.
@@graigm it’s so stupid why would they make the best endgame armor look like underwear? That and the Pettycoat. Yeah, I really want my male character looking like some bondage freak that escaped from a sex house.
Nightfall Greaves are amazing, you can use them on every class, so good when you are trying to gear every vocation
For head gear i can equip a head piece and a neck scarf. Does it stack?
Can't find the chain mail for the thief. Been looking all over. Any suggestions of where in that area to look?
For first run try to go on with whatever you have because in the second run you will get more and better armor/weapons in any shop and you get in wlc shop
I found skimpy armor for my mage from a wondering vendor on the central gondola mountain in the desert. Been running it for a while on my hairy dude. He has the confidence to pull it off. Stats are good too.
What's it called? Is it male or female?
It would have been interesting to see the end game armors from the dragon crystal vendor included in the video for each of the classes. This is great though as it covers the vast majority of the game.
Maybe you could do a pawn builds vid? Noticing the ai likes to spam some skills and completely ignore others (probably varies by inclination)
Thanks you so much bro Big like ❤but you sure at 100%?
Ares morpho robe is the reward from the sorcerer master together with the maelstorm skill right?
for thief you don’t need that armor, you can play light (fashion) and use the skill that make you a tank that evades everything. I haven’t gotten hit with dragons for example.
can you do a video on where to find ines Ive checked both checkpoint rest town and harve village someone on the wiki called her big foot and it was so relatable D:
She’s in harve village all the time for me.
Definitely didn't expect to see low level gear being the majority of the "Best Gear in the Game" video.
- Imo, start with Warfarer, then move to How much Str vs Magik u want.
- And you'll easily know what gear is "the best".
- Same with weapons
dapper chauses has 10 slash and strike resist. seems like that might offset the expected defense increase for upgrade a bit but idk.
am currently running around as a warfarer with 26% total strike and slash resist. feels pretty tabky.
a suggestion for a video i think would be Best Pair classes for you and your pawn, like if you go sorcerer then your pawn go mage for cure? fighter/warrior for tank and protect you? what you guys think is this good?
Gold is so easy to come by there's no real point in worrying too much on what you're spending it on except during the early game. I've got over 700k gold and I bought all the best stuff I could when I found it.
I hate how a lot of the stronger armours are skirts / underwear. Like I just look goofy running around with the elegant petticoat overlapping my pants 💀
I actually ran down and unlocked magic archer at level 30 and still haven’t really touched main quest.
You left out Hood of Nonentity. Easy to get and works with lots of classes and is probably S teir untill volcano
Sure some of them are upgrades but what happened to style over functionality? I'll take looking cool over looking like a belly dancer on my mystic spear.
all the mixmaxers walking into endgame dressed like sailor moon
Curious why on mystic archer u didn’t include Rathe Greaves. Great stats for mystic archer and spearhead so u get a 2 for 1 For warfarer. Then the Eonian coat for mystic archer is great also
What about the enshadowed battle garb for the thief? Anyone knows to find?
Fextra Life , here’s your extra life!
I can’t get the dwarves armor quest to open up…the guard won’t mention it in court near the castle.
From the Conspicuously Missing Department: The Ares Morpho Robe that you can get for _free_ by completing The Sorcerer's Appraisal quest in Checkpoint Rest Town fairly early.
can someone tell how to find serpents to upgrade the twinblade you get for defeat the dragon
Good info.
But i will ignore any pawn in "best Armour". The game is easy enough to make your pawns unique over making them an end game clothes.
You just want us all in elegant petticoat.
It is all fashion for me. I barely look at stats and just upgrade all the time lol. I am always broke
There are still things that are left to interpretation in gear descriptions that still bugs me. Some clearly state special effects but there are others that say all types of things that would have you believe that they do also but don't 😮💨
Can you please do a video on where to find certain materials to upgrade equipment. I can’t find black crystal I can’t find the certain bones to upgrade my daggers it’s crazy
Drops from wights. I’m working on adding spawn locations to interactive map you can check what we have so far dragonsdogma2.wiki.fextralife.com/Black+Crystal
I dont know how I got it but the hood of nonentity seems good all the way to lategame because it gives 10% slash and strike resistance alone.
Actually a random passing merchant gave it to me
Don't waste money on the Ares robe for sorcerer, you get it for free when you complete the maister sorcerer quest in checkpoint town.
Yeah it's not really the "best armors" it's armor evolution till late game and optimisation.
Already done the theorycraft for armors have all bis armors and most of those items will be replaced later on. At least if we are only talking about stats.
But well... STYLE > Stats
One important point is that Dwarf upgrade is 100% of the time the best upgrade for armor and 95% of the time the best upgrade for other items. Reason is simple it up strength + magic like the balance upgrade in first city but it adds a LOT of knockdown power. So even if your main goal isn't to knockdown ennemies it's much better to bring more knockdown than few % damage (others are like a boost of 5% to 10% damage. Only exceptions are Staffs (long & short) and maybe Magick Bow (but i think dwarf upgrade is still better on it).
If we are honest there's no need to really focus those things to finish the game. You can end the game buying armors / weapons from Desert City and just throw 2 random upgrade on each piece of gear. Better focus on the late game optimisation and throw materials on the "real" piece of equipment that are good.
..and it looks great!
Maybe when you showing the Armor you should actually have the right vocation equipped so we can see them? Just a suggestion….
Ares moca something for sorcerer can be found for free in waterfall cave defeat the lich.
Can there be like a hub best armor per class video?
Best armor?! Who looks at armor stats?! Fashions Dogma FTW!
Man why did they scrap the assassin class :(
thief is op
Yea bro thief is unreal give it a try
Thief is basically the assassin. Master Kill is badass. Smoke Bomb automatically crit attacks enemies, you have an ultra instinct master ability, it's a pretty stacked class. Implicate is awesome for toppling staggered bosses and ripping harpies from the air and stabbing them to death as you stare into their eyes as the life leaves from them. Fuck harpies.
So all mid or endgame gear is bought from a vendor. So much for making exploring fun.
True endgame gear is found by exploring the unmoored world. This video is for the endgame gear before unmoored world, and you'll definitely do a lot of exploring if you want to find everything for each class.
For a game that pushed for not having 1 "Meta" gear they do have a small range of choice that look good and have stats, at this point im just going fashion.
When i almost hit end game then i realize. The more revealing the better performance
I just go for whatever looks the best. The game isn't hard enough to care that much about defenses.
You get way better armor in all the shops in NG+ and you can beat this game quite fast
Play Warfare. First Fighter,Warrior and Mystic spearknight. But could not deceide. And Warfare was the best option for style and gameplay for me.
Third option just wait till volcanic island, made it there with 70 hour splayed using basically just starter gear and occasional stuff u find I’m the world, only boight 2 sets and it was for my thief in the nameless village and one for my warrior pawn at rest town, now I have 700k gold and will be doing an upgrade for my 5 favorite vocations and take those into end game
Or get all that gear earlier with a 10% discount in bakbattal from Sara the blacksmith and access to Dwarven upgrades instead of running back and forth to a really out of the way area for no reason
@@ChocolateEffigy I was gonna re make my comment and say all that 😭thanks for beating me
Wish you could toggle the helmets on or off instead of the visors 😂
I very sad but cover art armor its not present in the game very sad😢
I hope we get more armor and weapons in the dlc.
What at he best place or upgrade gear at it was never explained
None of these are the best armor, the best armors come from finding all of the chests and beating all of the strong dragons in the “Unmoored World” that’s under the sea and within the rivers. Trust me it’s stronger than the endgame gear. I found the Thief set and Warrior set so far, I found a op mage torso and a op archer torso, now looking for the pants. On pc I just manually save my unmoored save files and just keep going back to look for more.
Kinda bugs me a little that they didn't do male and female versions for most the best armour as my guy doesn't look good in the petticoat or the corset 🤣
As some who has close to 500 levels in this game (488) you can really use whatever armor you like, the game isn't hard but it's not easy, it's sitting at fun. I use a chest piece that's one away from the best because I like how it looks and boots I got in the first 20 hours of play. I do use the best weapon and I enchant all my stuff, I have 3-4 versions of each thing I like enchanted in ways that make sense for different vocations but I don't even think that's necessary. I once forgot to change armor when switching a vocation and I was half tired so aside from the weapon everything but the boots and cape(doesn't matter) got unequipped and I was killing things fine and that was back around 320 or something. You can use the Wayfarer for the same effect but I just personally prefer the sorcerer or mystic spearhand and some abilities you can't use as a wayfarer with them.
all the best armor are in one location: the dragonforge
This is just to tide me over till I get the corset.
Escoteric is a waste if you do the Maisters quest line you get an Ares Morpho Robe though Ares Morpho is ugly asf unless you're a female.. Wish I knew that before I watched this and bought that.. I also handed in 5 fake grimmores.. so yeah
Now do best warfarer drip
Did someone make this into a spreadsheet yet?
Just decided to look this up LMFAO, thank you!
Over knee boots are where? Sacred armor?
Nah… not wearing that recommended magic archer dress….
Pettycoat looks stupid as hell and I refuse to wear it lol
Y'all use helmets?
Im so confused why we left out arbor elven place out the entire video? Wtf
What are you talking about?
It's all about fashion BAYBEE
fashion is more important than
Hey @FextraLife we found a home only accessible after saving Empress Nidinia successfully, sold by a woman in the hall leading to the lambent flame itself, and she sells a home IN THE PALACE priced at 300,000 G its got a gorgeous view as well.
