Monkeys had unique stats in Banana Blitz (and its remake). Rumble is not the first to do this.

@@thesussyinspector Yeah but it's still more than never, and also in the original Japanese lore for Classic Sonic all the characters were supposed to be able to talk, Sonic included, the only reason he doesn't talk in the classic games themselves is because of console limitations, that's it. Him being a mute character wasn't a real intended thing until Sonic Generations.

A new Super Monkey Ball game! And this time, it’s not a remaster to a past game.
MONKEY BALL TIME!
As a big fan of the first two Monkey Ball games, I'm super happy with Banana Rumble! I went in with next to no expectations seeing as we haven't had a fully original Monkey Ball game since 2012, but man I'm so happy with what we got aesthetically, level-design-wise, and soundtrack-wise (Kenichi Tokoi involvement 💪) as well. I've had so much fun playing this game since launch, and the online multiplayer content's a nice touch too. Overall, while the first two games will probably always be my favourites, Banana Rumble brings back that creative and challenging but fun and rewarding level design. While the controls aren't perfect and I'd like to see them refined for future titles, and we are missing some iconic party games, I'm still very satisfied with the final product!
What are you talking about?!..the movement is much better and categorically improved...the Devs have stated improving the physics and movement have been one of their main focuses
There’s a number of things misleading or wrong in this video as others have pointed out, such as classic Sonic not talking or this being the first time characters have individual stats. 😬 And that’s just within the first 5 minutes of the video.

They did fix the frame rate issues in battle mode via a day 1 patch. I haven’t run into any frame rate issues personally, and most of the modes I’ve found to be really fun

Idk man, the physics felt so much more lenient in this game. Like it’s insane. Baby is fast and bouncy and sticks to the track like glue and makes the ex worlds free, cleared all 20 worlds in like 2.5 hours
As nice as this looks, I'll just wait until this gets released on Steam or have a dedicated stand-alone version.

Super Monkey Ball one of SEGA's best franchises along with Sonic The Hedgehog.
Well it makes sense that sonic wouldn't speak it's classic sonic. He didn't even speak in sonic generations and even in sonic forces.

The lack of powerful sound effects has been a problem in gaming as a whole for a couple generations now. Besides rhythm games and some indie games, we're getting further and further away from that "arcade feel".
Also some corrections: the character stats are not new, they've done it before, and there is a challenge mode in the form of time attacks, one for each world and two longer ones that contain 100 stages each.
I found the framerate in battle mode atrocious even with just two players. It is slightly better in handheld mode, but still unnacceptable imo. As for the gameplay, it's perfectly fine for me, granted I've never played the gamecube originals myself.
I'm going for the actual 100% on my end, already done with 3/4 of the missions, and boy is it hard, I love it!

Dont worry, most people agree that this game has better physics that are closer to smb2 than banana mania. The camera controls are also v customizable, so you can lean full into automatic camera controls to make it just like the original games or you can use more manual controls. You can also mix and match how much you want one camera control system over the other. Idk if he edited those settings or not but I did and it feels identical to the originals

At first, this game looked bad to me. characters didn’t feel the same, and I’m already sad about not having the older Monkey Ball entires have a HD remake.

banana mania physics are absolutely fine, i wouldent have done pretty much everything there is to do on the game otherwise, and thats even with me playing the past games as much as i can through legitimate means

I think Monkey Ball 2 ROMHacks are more interesting and fun than any official Monkey Ball game since 2002 and it will probably remain that way for the foreseeable future.
