Trying out some new kinds of shots for the B-Roll. Just got a gimbal and I tried filming my first "Stop Motion-y" kind of shot; let me know what you think! Still have a ways to go with improving on that, but it's been fun trying out new things.
Mario Party DS is also a good option, although it would require several games and tallying everything. Stone Statue has a star space that lets you buy up to 99 stars at once and if you get lucky on the final 5 turns the star price can get knocked down to 5 coins
SimpleFlips and friends actually had the exact same experience with that minigame at 22:10, I think the game chose Simple to win and his friend's response was: "I would've been WAY less pissed if he just landed on the thing."
My favorite part of that video is they were always on turn three so they had to use theorb that gave them multiple turns in one turn to be able to finish their 50 turn game.
15:32, 245 coins on a single turn is insane, but I got a pb of 396 coins. On Mario Party DS, on the Bowser Pinball Machine Board, theres a space where you can land on a wheel where you can gamble away 99 coins, and then if you land on the ×5, you get a total of 495 coins. The reason why it is 396 and not 495 coins is because you use 99 coins to activate the wheel, not to mention the risk of missing the x5 and losing 99 coins.
In MP3, there are some minigames known as the game guy minigames and they actually are pretty crap. In one of them you can literally MAX your coins to 999 if you are lucky. On the roullete one, if you select the shy guy space and win you can multiply your coins 64 times. That's insane considering if you have at least 16 coins or more you can easly get max your coins (considering 16x64 is 1024). Oh, and it can could also happen on the chain chomp cake one, but that's even unlikely to happen.
I lost more than 300 coins in one turn once. That was both funny and infuriating. It was on that Treetop map in 6. The star was on the other side of that Rope swing on the first split path from the bottom. Somehow, Literally all 4 of us managed to land on the exact same bowser space just before that in the same turn. Went from like 400 coins right down to 50.
I wanna give some Mario Party info. I think the best option for this kind of challenge, is in Mario Party DS. Specifically on the board DK’s Stone Statue. I would do this. Set the game to 30 turns, set cpus to easy (easiest way to win minigames), and when going through the board, do not buy ANY stars. No stars. 0. Just collect as many coins as possible. When it comes to the final 5 turns, Bowser will cause 1 of 5 events to happen. 1 of them being “Stars for 5 coins.” Here’s why this is important, just like Fair Square, you can buy however many stars you want, but the only difference, is the DK’s Statue, has no cap limit on how much you can buy, so theoretically, you could buy all the stars you need with 1 single purchase. So here is the big strategy: Save all of your coins until the final 5 turns (just restart the turn if you don’t get stars for 5 coins), get a star pipe (only 15 coins lol), then once the game ends, rinse and repeat. I think this could be possible to do this in less than 24 hours. I wanna see it. Also, turn on bonus stars just to make things easier as well. It’s that simple. If you read this entire comment thank you 🙏.
I knew this was gonna use Fair Square before even clicking on the video, but the strategizing actually got pretty engaging. Never would have thought about how useful it'd be to plaster paths after orb spaces with toadies, or that you'd purposefully avoid DK spaces to prevent your enemy from getting coins. The infinite turn code seems like it could lead to some really fun Mario Party marathon battles of who can reach a certain star threshold first.
I'm more surprised the game even accounted for someone getting 999 stars. Also it was funny seeing the challenge go from collecting coins to mugging boo and toadette for just playing
I could never even get all 999 stars in all the Mario Party games and I only own the first Mario Party, most of the Game Cube Mario parties, and Mario Party 10! Also, nice job Nathaniel and everyone else who participated with him! Great video as always!
if DS had an infinite turn code, I think that board would of possibly been a better place to go for. since you basically have uncapped stars to buy you would just need to trick the game into letting bowser lower the price to 5 coins a star before activating infinite turns to really go nuts.
Surprised you were able to get 999(+) stars that fast. Nearly the equivalent of 19 full length games (50 turns) + 1 lite game (20 turns). Congrats on getting that goal. Nice to know another person was willing to take on this kind of Mario Party challenge. I've seen several others do similar natured challenge for Mario Kart, but you're only the 2nd person I know that's done this for Mario Party
TL:DR; Just to let everyone know, it's like this: • "n" is the total number of coins needed (25, 50, 100, 150 or 200); • "c" is the cost of a star (5, 10, 20, 30 or 40); • "s" is the max amount of stars to buy in the daytime part of Faire Square (5). In other words: • 25 coins for 5 stars • 50 coins for 5 stars • 100 coins for 5 stars • 150 coins for 5 stars • 200 coins for 5 stars
I really hope The GameCube Mario Party games will become repayable on Switch or maybe the next Nintendo console, this was the golden age for Mario Party.
The highest star count I got was on DS with getting over 100 stars for completing the achievements. It was interesting watching this done on Mario Party 6 and surprisingly faster than I was anticipating.
Any Nathaniel Bandy video with Carl in it is a great video! And yeah, Nathan, I agree with what you said at the end credits of doing dumb stuff until Nintendo makes new games. Here's a suggestion; playing Mario games with your teeth. I think I'm going to do that as well.
It was not a dumb challenge it was interesting and fun @nathanielbandy I love the challenge videos and watching you attempt new video game stats it's a whole new way to play these games!

I can't wait for the sequel....how long does it take to collect 999999 stars in every mario party game. (Also here's hoping this video is a test for every mario party game 100% in 1/2 weeks....)
Personally I think he'll need at least 3 weeks to pull something like that off. I've only ever 100%ed 4 & DS and both will take you at least 4 days each
Hi Nathaniel. I've been loving the content recently. Not too sure if you take video suggestions but a potential Pokémon Nuzlocke Marathon (I know you play it more casually) could be a cool idea given the longer, more thought out and longer to edit videos. It's a strong challenge and can be time consuming but it's an idea I'd love to see come to fruition.
I think it would have actually been faster to do this in Mario Party DS. The Donkey Kong board lets you buy stars at an uncapped rate, and during last 5 turns, you can get stars to go down to 5 coins. Pair that with how many coin minigames are on the board, I've seen TAS max out the star count in a single game. Obviously you aren't TAS but you could certainly get close.
An interesting idea for a Mario Party challenge, and I like it. Here's another idea: How fast can you win a game of Mario Party on EVERY MARIO PARTY BOARD in all the games?
You should do a 100% week of Mario party. I think that would be pretty cool. And I think it would spice the series up a bit because there’s different requirements for each
I was honestly expecting Boo/Toadette to land on chance time and just steal the 500+ stars. Also, I'd like to see this kind of thing for the other Mario Parties.
