I ditched an iPhone 12 to go to my second ever Note9 about a year ago. I noticed how compared to that iPhone, this runs a bit hot (snapdragon variant), 4g is showing its age, and the camera isn't as good. Also the fingerprint reader is really awful and pretty much never works as a guitarist. But I'm still incredibly happy with the price ($220) and being back on android for open source apps, s pen, and the headphone jack. It still does everything I need it to, albeit with some compromises compared to today's flagships. Whenever I do upgrade, I don't think I'll be able to justify spending much more than this thing cost me since I now realize how little impact paying two or three times as much would have. The problem I might have is finding something that is a definitive upgrade with a stylus, 5g, and jack in this price range, but I'll worry about that when this one dies or breaks.
Yeah, it won't be a comparable experience to a newer phone, like the 12 Pro. This is a phone from 2018, after all. It's still quite a nice device, and you got it for a great price 🙂
Yes. I was very fortunate to find one for sale after looking for several days online. An Ocean Blue 512GB/8GB Note9 in pristine condition. When it arrived three days ago the phone was in better shape than I could have hoped; it's practically indistinguishable from new. I gave my youngest brother my Ocean Blue Note9 two years ago and I realized that I was going to miss that phone. The Note9 is a very solid phone, still is very fast and responsive. I'd forgotten it has the 3.5mm jack making it able to interface with some older tech that I still use. Long live the Samsung Galaxy Note9.

I'm still using my Note 9, but thinking about upgrading soon. It generally still runs great as my one and only phone, though the battery life has gotten quite a bit worse. Even with that though, if I didn't have somewhat power hungry phone usage needs (like for vlogging and TH-cam video recording stuff), besides the battery the only other thing that makes me feel the need to upgrade is the fact that Samsung isn't providing software updates anymore. Having this phone for the last few years has taught me what a good phone is supposed to be. Unfortunately, that may mean I'm more picky looking for my upgrade. But I am relegated to the fact that I'll probably have to say goodbye to an S-Pen and a headphone jack, two things I don't want to say good-bye to.

Oh, that. I forgot to mention, I noticed it happen once a few months ago, but it would go away on its own after squeezing the side of the screen. Hasn't happened yet since then.
hi I want to buy note 9. where I can buy it?
ebay
Yeah, or find it locally from people selling it on sites like OLX. You might find nice deals 🙂
I bought my new unlocked 500gb Note 9 on ebay for around $365 after taxes and shipping last year.
That's a nice deal for 512 gigs
Great Video!
What phone do you use now?
I use the Honor Magic4 Pro which they sent me back in June 2022 🙂
Note 9 super.
Yeah, it is! 😎
I have the note 9 snapdragon variant🖤🔥
Oh, nice!
Hey bro I wanna buy a note 9 snapdragon variant next week . Pls what's the average screen on time once it's fully chaged to 100
I'm thinking about getting one in 2023,I currently have a A21s and this thing it's just shitting it's self in every app, even on TH-cam,I found a 6/128gb one for 199€,I have a 128gb sd card so the 128gb version would be plenty for me,do you think it is a good idea to upgrade/downgrade to a Note 9?
Well the Note 9 had no issues with TH-cam or other basic apps in 2023. So I guess you'd have a better experience
@@TheHopelessGeek Yeah I thought the same,I also do some gaming, mostly Pubg and I saw it can handle smooth 60fps so that's good too,and what about the camera, the camera on my A21s is the only good thing about it lol,I'll miss the ultra wide camera tho😭
Yeah, this one doesn't have an ultra wide sensor, but the main 12 mp one is amazing. 4k 60 FPS looks good too! All my videos from 2019 to 2022 were shot on that phone. 🙂
@@TheHopelessGeek Oh nice,my A21s technically has a 12mp camera too,bcs it dowscales it to 12mp bcs Samsung logic, and this only has 1080p video at 30,which looks like crap,I hope I'll get the Note 9 and I'll let you know if I like it
Look at my videos from around a year ago, they're all shot on the Pro video mode of Note 9. 👌🏼
I have one. The screen is playing up, but it's otherwise ok. With no 5g or esim, it's increasingly a thing of the past.
Yeah, but where I live, 5G is not a deal breaker. And most people prefer physical Sims, so this will still be relevant for them 🙂
Today I gonna buy a Samsung note 9 😍
Nice! Where did you get it from? 🙂
Im buying one because it looks great! my only concern is the screen burn..
🙂It certainly looks and feels premium, even today! Yes, the screen burn in can be a concern on older phones, but personally, I didn't notice anything as such.
@@TheHopelessGeek cool! glad to hear that. Any tips to prevent burn in? 😊
Um.. try not to use it on max brightness for several hours. 😅
My Samsung note 9 pro still strong ,i have buy 4 year ago😂😂 then still using till now🤭😁
Mine too 😀 I gave it to a family member 👍🏼
Me Watching This on note 9
😎like a Bauss!
So lucky 😭♥️
My dad's the lucky user now. Using my Note 9 😅
@@TheHopelessGeek Damnnnnnn
😂
You're right, what's your name?
Why do you need my name? 🙂
It does have fast charging. It's only a 1 hour difference between my galaxy s21 ultra.
Only 18W though. It isn't as fast as modern budget phones with average of 45W chargers. S21 Ultra has a much bigger battery unit and a relatively low 25W max charging power.
Still using mine from 2019 :)
I got mine in 2019 too!
Does note 9 still have edge lighting if there are notifications?
Yes, of course it does.🙂
@@TheHopelessGeek what is worth it sir? In 2023 samsung s10 or samsung note 9?
S10 is certainly a newer device with better specs, but it you want the S-pen stylus, there's no better choice than the Note.
I bought one since Friday but after coming home I don't feel satisfied because it look like its a refurbished one an the man told me its new but some of the things I don t get in the box I don't see when he take of the plastic of the scream so am carrying it back for a note l0 plus brand new
I see. Make sure to check it on the spot before accepting it if you're buying straight from its last owner.
@@TheHopelessGeek its in the store I was so anxious don't c some of the things in the box
@@TheHopelessGeek some times I often touch a letter all 3 time before it touch an I pay 61,000
😅as long as the person is trustworthy, it may be ok.
@@TheHopelessGeek i will let u know if I get through
My longest lasting smartphone so far, 4 years and still kicking.
Wow! I'm on the 4th year with mine too!
@@TheHopelessGeek getting Pixel 7 Pro soon. Or should I just let it spoilt itself than panic buy?
Nah, plan and buy. Keep it as a functional trophy if you want 🙂
im currently using my note 9 with a custom rom running on android 13 (one ui 5.0)..hehehe..
Noice! Which is that custom ROM?
Note 9 for a secondary phone??? WTF hahaha even today 2023 its still kickin' like a high midrange phone
Maybe I'm just spoiled by modern flagships
@@TheHopelessGeek yeah its ok men hehehe im gotta admit, ive been a fan of note 9 for years and i still using note 9 as my primary phone, and for me its still the best, the only thing that i dont like about my note 9 is the battery, but im using power bank so no worries
True, the battery life isn't good. It used to heat up quite fast too, mainly due to my 4K video recording use.
Watch these on my Note 9😌
It's an amazing phone, definitely the best phone I've ever used 🔥😎
Megapixels usually mean nothing
Often, the sensor size, the individual pixel sizes, and the software driving it matter a lot more.
😯😍
🙂👍🏼
hello
Nearly obsolete greetings
😂one of the trashest phones ever made no best network
Best network? Do you mean this phone struggled with cellular signal connection?
