Imagine thinking that the Jews never knew God but the pagan Roman emperors knew the correct God 😂
Imagine believing that Moses was a false teacher

If worshipers of God, pre-Christian and Christian believed that God was a Trinity, it wouldn't have needed any debate.
The Council at Nicea brought in a fulfillment of Paul's prophecy at Acts 20:30.
Twisted teachings to disfigure God's personality being one called the Trinity.

This was one of the best presentations o have sent debunking the belief that the trinity was established and/or taught as a universal church teaching prior to the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.
    Great job, Pastor Finnegan!

By this logic, everyone who isn’t specifically talking about/explaining the trinity is NOT a trinitarian. You should read the prayers in the Common Book of Prayer, they are written just like the patristic quotes you read. Clearly Cranmer was a trinitarian, the Creed is central and the 39 articles is trinitarian.
Also, side note; in your scholarly opinion based on your research, how much of the New Testament documents do you believe St. Polycarp or St Irenaeus had?

We also should be asking if the disciples ever believed in the Trinity. The answer is clear. 2nd Temple Judaism were strict monotheists. There wasn't any heresy as to whether Jesus was God. The good news was to make known that Jesus was the Messiah, not God the Son.
Thr title Son of God was never exclusive to Jesus. Adam was also known as the Son of God (Luke 3:38).

      Quran Chapter 4 Verse 171
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
      Quran Chapter 5
      116. And God will say, “O Jesus son of Mary, did you say to the people, `Take me and my mother as gods rather than God?'“ He will say, “Glory be to You! It is not for me to say what I have no right to. Had I said it, You would have known it. You know what is in my soul, and I do not know what is in Your soul. You are the Knower of the hidden.
      117. I only told them what You commanded me: that you shall worship God, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them while I was among them; but when You took me to Yourself, You became the Watcher over them-You are Witness over everything.
      Quran Chapter 3
      45. The Angels said, “O Mary, God gives you good news of a Word from Him. His name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, well-esteemed in this world and the next, and one of the nearest.
      46. He will speak to the people from the crib, and in adulthood, and will be one of the righteous.”
      47. She said, “My Lord, how can I have a child, when no man has touched me?” He said, “It will be so. God creates whatever He wills. To have anything done, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.”
      48. And He will teach him the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel.
      49. A messenger to the Children of Israel: “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you out of clay the figure of a bird; then I breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by God’s leave. And I heal the blind and the leprous, and I revive the dead, by God’s leave. And I inform you concerning what you eat, and what you store in your homes. In that is a sign for you, if you are believers.”
      50. “And verifying what lies before me of the Torah, and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord; so fear God, and obey me.”
      51. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
      52. When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, “Who are my allies towards God?” The disciples said, “We are God’s allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit.”
      53. “Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses.”
      54. They planned, and God planned; but God is the Best of planners.
      55. God said, “O Jesus, I am terminating your life, and raising you to Me, and clearing you of those who disbelieve. And I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing.
      56. As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment, in this world and the next, and they will have no helpers.
      57. And as for those who believe and do good works, He will give them their rewards in full. God does not love the unjust.”
      58. This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder.
      59. The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was.
      60. The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
      61. And if anyone disputes with you about him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our children and your children, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and let us invoke God’s curse on the liars.”
      62. This is the narrative of truth: there is no god but God. God is the Mighty, the Wise.
      63. But if they turn away-God knows the corrupt.
      64. Say, “O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God.” And if they turn away, say, “Bear witness that we have submitted.”
      Quran Chapter 19
In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
      1. Kaf, Ha, Ya, Ayn, Saad.
      2. A mention of the mercy of your Lord towards His servant Zechariah.
      3. When he called on his Lord, a call in seclusion.
      4. He said, “My Lord, my bones have become feeble, and my hair is aflame with gray, and never, Lord, have I been disappointed in my prayer to you.
      5. “And I fear for my dependents after me, and my wife is barren. So grant me, from Yourself, an heir.
      6. To inherit me, and inherit from the House of Jacob, and make him, my Lord, pleasing.”
      7. “O Zechariah, We give you good news of a son, whose name is John, a name We have never given before.”
      8. He said, “My Lord, how can I have a son, when my wife is barren, and I have become decrepit with old age?”
      9. He said, “It will be so, your Lord says, ‘it is easy for me, and I created you before, when you were nothing.’”
      10. He said, “My Lord, give me a sign.” He said, “Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights straight.”
      11. And he came out to his people, from the sanctuary, and signaled to them to praise morning and evening.
      12. “O John, hold on to the Scripture firmly,” and We gave him wisdom in his youth.
      13. And tenderness from Us, and innocence. He was devout.
      14. And kind to his parents; and he was not a disobedient tyrant.
      15. And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the Day he is raised alive.
      16. And mention in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew from her people to an eastern location.
      17. She screened herself away from them, and We sent to her Our spirit, and He appeared to her as an immaculate human.
      18. She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.”
      19. He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.”
      20. She said, “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and I was never unchaste?”
      21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“
      22. So she carried him, and secluded herself with him in a remote place.
      23. The labor-pains came upon her, by the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, “I wish I had died before this, and been completely forgotten.”
      24. Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you.
      25. And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.”
      26. “So eat, and drink, and be consoled. And if you see any human, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human today.'“
      27. Then she came to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have done something terrible.
      28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not an evil man, and your mother was not a whore.”
      29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to an infant in the crib?”
      30. He said, “I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture, and made me a prophet.
      31. And has made me blessed wherever I may be; and has enjoined on me prayer and charity, so long as I live.
      32. And kind to my mother, and He did not make me a disobedient rebel.
      33. So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive.”
      34. That is Jesus son of Mary-the Word of truth about which they doubt.
      35. It is not for God to have a child-glory be to Him. To have anything done, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes.
      36. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
      37. But the various factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who disbelieve from the scene of a tremendous Day.
      38. Listen to them and watch for them the Day they come to Us. But the wrongdoers today are completely lost.
      39. And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded. Yet they are heedless, and they do not believe.”

      Hebrews 1:8 {the Father calls Jesus God}
But unto the Son he {God } saith,
Thy throne, O God {Theos}, is, forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom.
The Holy Spirit applies this to Jesus in (Hebrews) and to The Father in (Psalm 45:6).
      Psalm 45:6
Your throne, O God, will last, forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
      Deuteronomy 6:13-14 {Holy Spirit said worship only God.}
"You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name. “You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you,
      Luke 4:8 {Jesus reminds satan only God is to be worshiped}
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve.
      Hebrews 1:6 {the Father tells the angels to worship Jesus}
And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world he {God} saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Daniel 7:13-14, (The Father decrees all will worship him)
In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
      Matthew 28:17 14:33 {Apostles worship Jesus} Luke 24:52
And when they saw him, they worshiped him:
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
      And they worshiped him.
John 20:28, 29 {Thomas calls Jesus God}{ o Kurios mou kai o Theos mou } the definite article.
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Ἀπεκρίθη Θωμᾶς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· ὁ κύριός μου καὶ ὁ θεός μου
…..Does Jesus correct Thomas? No, he calls him blessed.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
      Romans 9:5 {The Holy Spirit thru Paul calls Jesus GOD}
Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen…NIV
      I Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles believed on in the world, received up into glory.
      Colossians 2:9
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
      Titus 2:13 Titus 3:4-7
Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior
      Philippians 2:5-7
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man:
      John 1:1, 2,3,14 {The Holy Spirit thru John calls Jesus God}
In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word .

En arche en ho logos kai ho logos en pros ton Theon kai theos en ho Logos
He was in [the] beginning with God.
All things through him came into being, and without him came into being not even one [thing] which has come into being.
And the Word flesh became, and tabernacled among us,
      John 1:9-10
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
      Acts 20:28 {The Holy Spirit thru Luke calls Jesus God}
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
      2 Peter 1:1 {The Holy Spirit thru Peter calls Jesus God}
Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:
      2 Peter 1:11
"for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.,"
      2 Peter 2:20
"For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first,"
      2 Peter 3:18
"but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen,"
Jude 4,5 (The Holy Spirit thru Jude calls Jesus God)
For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
      Isaiah 7:14 {The Holy Spirit thru the prophets calls Jesus God}
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
      Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
      Matthew 1:23 (The Holy Spirit thru Matthew defines the name Immanuel, Jesus is GOD}
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Revelation 1:8, 22:13, 16 (Jesus claims to be GOD)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end the first and the last…
I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.
Matthew 4:7 (after satan tempts Jesus, Jesus states)
Jesus said to him again, 'It hath been written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'
Exodus 3:13-14 (the Father states he is I AM THAT I AM)
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, what is his name? What shall I say unto them?
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

@A D The Lord Jesus Himself taught that the Father alone is the one true God (John 17:1, 3). The apostles taught the same doctrine (I Cor. 8:6). So Trinity is directly going against the teaching of the Lord Jesus and His apostle's. And this is based on God's declaration: "and THERE IS NO OTHER GOD BESIDES ME... THERE IS NONE BESIDES ME" (Isaiah 45:21). The one speaking is the FATHER in heaven according to MALACHI 2:10 which says the ONE GOD IS THE FATHER.

@321Love-Walking The-Talk the word Echad is used 960 Times in the OT. It very seldom means two or more unified as one. The text with Adam and Eve shows that TWO become one flesh. The one is the flesh. Or the one cluster of grapes. The one is the cluster of grapes. The context will always tell you if there is a compound unity. Where in Deut 6:4 do you see mentioned more than one being called one God? And why didn't any Jew acknowledge a compound unity.

Somebody loves you so much that he sends somebody else to save you? Why couldn't he save you? Why didn't he do it himself? Christ said that greater love has no man but that he lay down his life for his friends. But in this instance, you're saying that God didn't love us that much. So, it wasn't really his “greater” love that redeemed us. It was the love of somebody else who either maneuvered through the minefield of sin, upon which all of history hinged, or he was supercharged with enough divine influence as to make the outcome of Calvary inevitable. The former entails a finite god, whereas the latter entails the very acting that Unitarians accuse Trinitarians of affirming.

Both kurios (a lord, used many times for humans) and theos are in the nominative declension. It was an exclamation. biblehub.com/text/john/20-28.htm N-NMS means noun, nominative, male, singular.
      2) Jesus saying something like, I am God. The blind man whom Jesus had healed also said 'I am' in John 9:9--biblehub.com/john/9-9.htm Look at the Greek. The very same words, ego eimi, which for Jesus means he is God but not for others.

      6) Anyone saying Jesus was 'eternally begotten.'
      7) Anyone saying The Father, Jesus, and the HS are of the same rank. No, Jesus didn't think of 'clinging' to equality with God. Jesus didn't think to seize equality with God. Harpagmon is the Greek word and it means 'forcefully obtain.' Trinitarians are dishonest, just like anti-nuclear people or any people propagating a view not in keeping with reality.
The foundation of the Trinity is that 1+1+1=1. In short, what nonsense. Intellectually, theologians are monkeys who have to take off their shoes and socks to work with numbers bigger than 10.
The life cycle is, conception (begetting) -> embryonic development -> birth. If Jesus was 'eternally begotten' he got stuck in the first phase and never lived. Weird, isn't it?
The Trinity is most likely the stupidest thing humanity ever came up with. At least the Earth looks reasonably flat--one can give the flat Earthers that. But the Trinity! 1+1+1=1. 1/3=1. Jesus saying 'the Father is greater than I.' Paul saying 'for us, there is one God, the Father...' Note what Paul said was long after the resurrection.

If the Trinity wasn’t a widely held or taught doctrine before Nicea, why did so many bishops support it and vote to banish Arius and his teachings?

  • @wahidsaifudeen1651

It must be true that some early Christians must have believed in Trinity. It must be equally true that some other Christians didn't believe in trinity too.
That was the only reason the council Nicea was called by emperor Constantine who was the recent convert to Christianity to settle the dispute between the Christians.
Just because some early Christian authors wrote about the trinity concept, it does not mean the concept is true. There is nothing in the Greek bible about the trinity.
Above all Jesus never said that God is three in one. On the contrary he categorically declared the the Father is the only true God (John 17:3)
    That's where story must end.

      About the biblical DIVINE Trinity…
Proverbs 8:22 The LORD POSSESSED me IN the beginning of his WAY(Psalm 77:13) before his works of old.
He WAS POSSESSED &He was NOT created and NOT born.
Pro 8:23 I was SET UP from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
He was SET UP &He was NOT created and NOT born.
Pro 8:24 When there were no depths, I WAS BROUGHT FORT; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
He WAS BROUGHT FORT &He was NOT created and NOT born.
Pro 8:25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I BROUGHT FORT:
He WAS BROUGHT FORT &He was NOT created and NOT born.
Pro 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I WAS THERE: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
He WAS THERE &He was NOT created and NOT born.
      Pro 8:30 Then I WAS BY HIM, as one BROUGHT UP WITH HIM: and I WAS daily his delight, rejoicing always BEFORE him;
Pro 8:30 He WAS BY HIM, &He was NOT created and NOT born.
Pro 8:30 He WAS one BROUGHT UP WITH HIM &He was NOT created and not born.
      Pro 8:30 He WAS DAILY his delight, rejoicing always BEFORE him;
NOT even one word supporting your mostly strong insult against the Creator of ALL what exist in His infinite Universe.
In Proverbs 8 we cannot see Jesus having a beginning since we have verses making clearly that Jesus is the Creator of “ALL” what exist in His infinite Universe.
But seeing Colos 2:2 saying that CHRIST is God’s MYSTERY being the Sanctuary(John 2:21) on which is invested God’s WISDOM(Colos 2:3) which we see in Proverbs 8:1 it is logically to see Proverbs 8:22-30 saying about CHRIST having AS God’s plan of salvation beginning Sanctuary(John 2:21) PLAN which we see also in John 1:1,14 Psalm 2:7 explained by John 2:21 Hebrews 1:5 etc.
There are many remaining in John 12:34 not being able to know Jesus AS CHRIST(Colos 2:2,3 John 2:31) but now seeing CHRIST having a beginning we should NEVER dare to see Jesus having a beginning since He is the Creator of “ALL” what exist in the whole infinite Universe.
John 1:3 “ALL” things were MADE(created) BY HIM(Jesus); and without him was NOT ANY THING MADE that was MADE.
Reading John 1:3 you should do your best to understand the word “ALL”.
Rom 11:36 For IF HIM(Jesus), and TROUGH HIM, and TO HIM, ARE “ALL” THINGS: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
Reading Rom 11:36 you should understand the word “ALL”.
      Php 2:10 That in the NAME(characters) of Jesus EVERY knee should bow(worship), of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11 And that EVERY tongue should confess that Jesus Christ IS LORD, TO the glory of GOD the Father.
Php 2:11 …Jesus Christ IS NOT GOD, TO the glory of GOD the Father.
1John 2:22 Who is a LIAR but he that DENY that Jesus is the Christ? He is ANTICHRIST, that DENY the Father and the Son.
1John 2:22 Who is a LIAR but he that DENY that Jesus is the Christ (BY THE SAYING THAT HE IS GOD). He is ANTICHRIST, that DENY the Father and the Son.(BY THE SAYING THAT HE IS GOD THE SON TO DENY HIM AS SON OF GOD.
Seeing the DIVINE Jesus as GOD you can only see Him as GOD THE SON and not anymore as SON OF GOD.
Because we have many other verses like Exodus 20:8-11 about God’s STAMP(seal) making clearly that the word “GOD” is a FUNCTION(highest authority) which is totally impossible to have Jesus being AS SON and as greatest SERVANT(John 13:5).
John 17:3 And THIS IS life eternal, that they might KNOW thee the ONLY true God, and Jesus CHRIST(Colos 2:2,3 John 2:21) whom thou hast sent.
John 14:17 Even the SPIRIT of truth; whom the world CANNOT receive, BECAUSE it seeth HIM NOT(in Matt 11:27), neither knoweth HIM: but ye know HIM; for HE dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Matthew 11:27 ALL THINGS(Hebrews 11:1 Num 4:15) are delivered unto me of my Father: and NO MAN knoweth the Son, BUT the Father; NEITHER know ANY MAN the Father, but only the Son, AND he(you) to whomsoever the Son will reveal HIM(as Father-John 17:6,26 Rev 14:1)...
According with John 14:17 YOU are the world WHEN in Matthew 11:28 you CANNOT SEE ALSO the third LITERALLY Person of the Godhead KNOWING the Son and the Father.
With the help of many others verses like John 14:26 John 16:13-15 three times YOU MUST SEE ALSO the third literally Person of the Godhead on the time you are reading Matthew 11:27 so that you will never be THE WORLD mentioned in John 14:17 NOT being able to SEE ALSO the third literally Person of the Godhead and NOT ONLY the first two Persons of the Godhead.
Verses like John 14:26 John 16:13-15 make clearly that the third literally Person of the Godhead called Holy GHOST is helping you in Matthew 11:27 TO KNOW the Father and to KNOW the Son helping you to KNOW the HolySPIRIT which are words (said Jesus in verses like John 6:63).
Verses like John 13:3 John 14:17 make as CONDITION OF SALVATION TO KNOW the DIVINE Trinity made of three DIVINE always existing Persons having only one of them AS GOD.
Never allow to any agency of Satan to twist you to see three Persons as three Gods being one God which means one Person.
EXPLAINING Trinity which is TriTheism they are telling you frankly that Trinity CANNOT BE EXPLAINED.
Three Gods means TriTheism (3 Theos which means 3 Gods) and you will be as liar saying that you believe in Trinity which is TriTheism to worship 3 Persons as 3 Gods…
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the TRUE WORSHIPERS shall WORSHIP THE FATHER IN SPIRIT and in TRUTH: for THE FATHER IS SEEKING such TO WORSHIP HIM.
John 4:24 GOD is a SPIRIT: and they that WORSHIP Him must WORSHIP Him IN SPIRIT and in TRUTH(Psalm 119:142 Psa 77:13).
      John 6:63 WORDS ARE SPIRIT.
I wrote this post seeing many are reading Proverbs 8 reading apples to see pears to INSULT the Creator making Him creature so that He will be like Satan.
I am so sad that I feel to vomit seeing Satan and his demons being every day more powerful in deluding CHRISTians teaching them to read apples to see pears.
But I know that the guidance of the Holy GHOST to never read apples to see pears is given ONLY to those who being more obedient for better worshiping finally they will be able to replace the third part of angels who was lost scratching in God’s words seeing obedience as slavery.

You are right in your belief about who the Lord Jesus is. But there is a way for man to be saved through Christ. Faith alone in Christ is not enough (Luke 6:46). One has to obey Christ to enter in Him or His fold (John 10:9, 16) to be saved. The fold or flock is the Church Of Christ (Acts 20;28 Lamsa) of which we belong - the Iglesia Ni Cristo (in Filipino language). This Church is the re-emergence in these last days of the Church built by Christ after its apostasy based on biblical prophecies. Study with us to know the truth. @@savedbygrace7509 There are many ways to explain the very few passages where God is speaking in plurality.
      1. Plurality of majesty. Sometimes rulers are so powerful, they are described in pluralistic terms. Like rulers today, sometimes a person will say something like "Let us do ____". Speaking on behalf of all their subjects.
      2. Throughout Genesis (and the rest of the Bible) God is a collaborative God. He wants all of creation to help sustain said creation. Let the land, let the sea, etc. Dr. J. Richard Middleton's book about Biblical Eschatology is really illuminating in this regard.

True Heart Are you applying Echad a Hebrew term in a greek New Testament quote. I just feel that the New Testament should interpret the Old Testament not the other way around. And Jesus said the word allos (Another) this means more of the same, not of something entirely different. Example I give you a glass of water, you drink it, so I then ask if you want another (allos) glass of water. You see I’m giving you the same thing just another portion of it. Another comforter is a quote from John14:16 the word comforter used in that passage is only five times in the New Testament and The very last time it is used is in 1John 2:1 only most Bible versions replace the word comforter with advocate but it is the very same word from the greek used by Jesus as comforter
1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate ( G3875 paraklētos-comforter) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: Not only is that interesting for what Jesus says right after “in verse 16 of John 14 verse 18 is telling; I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Jesus tells us it is He that comes to us and He is our paraklētos.

    Well done.
A great read on the subject of how the Trinity was introduced into Christendom is the book "When Jesus Became God" by Richard Rubinstein, which also covers some of the early beliefs pre Nicea, and also delves into the subject not many know.. that in the early Roman church actually taught Arianism (that Jesus was not God) for almost 100 years after Nicea, and the creators of the Trinity; the Athanasian creed, were excommunicated for heresy! It was only later did they come back, due to political manipulation with the Roman leaders, enabling them to outcast the Arians, and then secure their doctrine into the church after several more creeds and councils (which involved lots of heated debates, violence and threats from the Roman state), and the rest is history as we know it.
To think that the Athanasians were exiled for creating the Trinity not long after Nicea is a Trinitarian embarassment that hardly any modern day Christian knows about. These events are known as the "Arian Controversy" today. But the full truth of the matter (which is supported by both historical CHURCH documents and Roman letters) is glossed over and supressed.

Thank you for sharing this. It was very educational. I myself use to believe against the Trinity having been raised as Jehovah’s Witness (3rd generation) it never made sense to me previously. As I later learned I was trying to make sense of God and that was more irrational then what I thought of the Trinity.
I now believe the Trinity because of reading the Bible through prayer. Not because I needed confirmation of how someone makes sense of who God is. I believe the Bible is the inspired inerrant word of God and has been preserved for all of us to come to know Him our Almighty Creator and Savior.
I don’t like to use terms as “Trinitarian” or “Unitarian” etc. they are man made and therefore doesn’t explicitly describe what one believes. I’m constantly correcting people on what they think I believe about what the Bible says of who God is because of these labels.
Everything these church fathers stated is true and doesn’t contradict what we believe as Christians. The Father is exactly what He is, the Father and the Son is that as well, the Son. So we know there is a difference in the roles. The Son came to do the will of the Father. We are subjects to the Son as He is over all things in heaven and earth. We come to the Father through the Son. By this we are partakers of His divine nature. Jesus is the exact imprint of our Father’s essence. This is all scripture.
It seems that there is a suggestion to deny scripture when hearing this speech in many ways especially with verses like Hebrews 1:3. I think if we stop trying to interpret who God is and just follow His word, we will come to know Him because He reveals Himself to those who seek Him.

Irenaeus did not have to be a Trinitarian to believe in the deity of Jesus. He could have been a modalist who could clearly distinguish between the humanity of Christ and His personal identity as God. Moreover, Finnegan unjustifiably leaps from Modalism to Unitarianism to describe the majority of believers in Tertullian's day. Given that Tertullian was writing against Modalism, it makes more sense that he is acknowledging the predominance of Modalism and not Unitarianism. While these assumptions do not weaken Finnegan's argument that there is no truly trinitarian doctrine prior to Nicaea, it shows a tendency to read his bias into the record.

Here is one thing to point out about Matthew 28:18-20.
Although every Greek text contains the Trinitarian formula, the texts in other languages do not.
It gets even more interesting to note that many church fathers before Nicea quoted this passage with the Trinitarian formula missing, including Eusebius, who was at the Council of Nicea, who quoted it this way 17 times alone.
Then, after Nicea, the Bishops of the Council who were Arian were all forced to go on record quoting the Trinitarian formula in that passage, lest they be expelled as a heretic.
This is strong evidence that Matthew 28:19 was added to the Byzantine texts after the Council of Nicea at 325 AD.

Surely Matt 28:18-20 is NOT an affirmation of the trinity. The fact that Jesus mentioned the son. the father & the Holy spirit together still doesnt prove or agree with the trinity definition 'God the father, son & Holy spirit and these three are one' thats the trinity, not just mentioning the three in the same sentence! Often, mostly in fact only Jesus & the father are mentioned together. ( see the intros of most of Paul's epistles) . Just as 'Abreham, Isaac & Jacob were three distinct persons with degrees of seniority yet not 'One'! There is not one mention of the trinity creed in the bible! It was as you must know only formulated centuries later!

Matthew 28:18 affirms the exaltation of Jesus of Nazareth, and the "transference," as it were, of kingdom authority to him. Verse 19 is simply an affirmation that the authority originated with the Father, was given in fullness to the Son, and is shed forth on the church by the Holy Spirit. In Acts, the Apostles evoked the name of the one who had been exalted and GIVEN all authority (Jesus) rather than evoking the name of the one who GAVE him all authority (Jehovah).

Jesus told the apostles," I have many things to tell you but you can not bear them, but when the Holy Spirit comes He will lead you into all truth".This , of course was before the Spirit came in Acts 2.It's apparent that when the Spirit came the believers would have a better understanding of who Jesus was and salvation itself. If the apostles had been sent by the Lord before the Spirit came they could easily have come to the assumption that there was a trinity. The one thing that would have prevented that was the fact that the jewish people had always been monotheists. The idea that God consisted of three persons would have horrified them and they would have vigorously fought against it.

The Trinity originated in the oldest pagan religion in the world. Mesopotamia believed in two Trinities, one in heaven and one on earth. Marduk (Nimrod) was the unification of these under himself as the head of the pantheon.
After Babel, the Trinitarian formula persisted through Hinduism.
Before the exile, the Northern kingdom reinstated the Trinitarian formula by claiming that God (El) had a wife (Asherah), and that Ba'al was their son.
El is seen repeatedly telling the Israelites that he is not in a Trinity, but that he is One, and that his wife is Israel and that his son is Israel.
For some reason, El never felt the need to clarify the Trinity to the Israelites.

No Trinity exists. The problem is that it's impossible for the almighty God be here now. Why? It's due to the fact that the future is now SET IN STONE. We can have FREE WILL because we do NOT know what is written in the stone and do not care about that.
But God would KNOW that future instead and that future MUST COME TRUE. This means God would NOT be OMNIPOTENT: He could not even change the weather of tomorrow! He would thus be OBLIGED to let the future set in stone EXACTLY UNFOLD like it is, nothing can be changed. God would NOT BE FREE too because obliged to TAKE EXACTLY the God's actions already set in stone, down to the tiny detail.
How could God manage to solve that problem? The almighty God was in a very distant past, before the birth of mankind and time ("...BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN. O righteous Father, the WORLD HAS NOT KNOWN YOU....") and from that temporal point He was able to OBSERVE US in his future and to take ACTIONS in that future. But this conversely means - from our point of view - that we are REACHED BY HIM from that past. God is thus actually PRESENT HERE, but ONLY with his words and actions. It's a kind of phone communication with the past, with added possibility of omnipotent actions. In other terms we can say that God IS A SPIRIT here ("God is a spirit") because He is active but those actions are actually MADE BY NOBODY. That Spirit - who is here - is called the Holy Spirit. On the other hand, the almighty God - who dwells in that distant past - corresponds to the "Father" of the baptismal formula, no one ever saw Him ("the world has not known you")... That above is from our point of view. From GOD'S POINT OF VIEW instead things are different: when the universe started the almighty God had already done ALL HIS WORK. He already decided all his future actions so that the future was now FINALLY SET IN STONE, to be made AUTOMATICALLY TRUE by his power. He had thus made EVERYTHING. He could get rid of his then USELESS power to become like a NORMAL MAN: the Son. "Son" thus means that He DERIVES from God, He is not a Son in the common sense of the word. As a normal man, He also has a relationship with God (but much stronger), He has thus a relationship with a "different Himself". The Son has thus no power at all, but He sits in heaven next to the power of God. His power is thus always "borrowed" from the Father, under his consent. God has thus already lived his "mankind experience" once as the almighty God. He is now living his "mankind experience" a second time as a normal man.

And one proof that (the Father) is the ONLY God is that after Jesus got baptised by John the Baptist, God said from Heaven “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” And also second proof is, is when Jesus said “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” And after Jesus’s last breath, there was a long silence and the sky turned completely black and they saw God’s grieve for his Son.

Christian monotheism, if you study the Christian church history, you'll see that the earliest Christians quoted the Trinity, as far back as Barnabas in his writings and the disciples of the Apostle John.
But you don't need the history because all you have to do is read the Bible, and you'll see that the first Christians, the Apostles, and disciples taught the Trinity.
Every Christian knows and believes the Trinity because the Bible and the Biblical Hebrew and Greek proves it.
Why didn't you just show how the Bible and the Biblical Hebrew and Greek teach the Trinity.?.

      Something to think about:
      What if…….
Jesus was created? In fact, he is the firstborn of all creation (Colossians 1:15), repeated at
Rev 3:14 “To the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ceʹa write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God:”
      Is Jesus not the Amen?
Proverbs 8:22 “Jehovah produced me as the beginning of his way, The earliest of his achievements of long ago.”
Hmmm…..Jehovah produced me as the beginning of his way…….
      Who is the way?
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.””
If Proverbs 8:22 isn’t talking about Jesus, then who is it talking about?
Please continue with Proverbs 8:30 “Then I was beside him as a master worker. I was the one he was especially fond of day by day; I rejoiced before him all the time;”
      Who could this be?
It sounds like God the Father, Jehovah, who has no beginning, first created the son (see above), then, the son, being God’s master worker (Contractor, sub-contractor, as it were😀), created everything else.
John 1:3 “All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.”
I’m going to repeat Jesus’ words to Satan when he tried to tempt him at
Matthew 4:10 “Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’””
I reiterate, just as Jesus did,
“HIM ALONE YOU MUST RENDER SACRED SERVICE.”

Explaining Psalm 110:1 from the view of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
There has been a great debate among scholars on what Psalm 110:1 says. Does it say, “to my Lord” (Adoni in Hebrew) or does it say, “to LORD” (Adonai in Hebrew)? Anyone who has studied Hebrew long enough knows that the vowel points in Hebrew that make Adoni came from the Masoretic text between the 7th and 10th century CE. The Hebrew word Mesorah refers to the transmission of a tradition. The vowel points that were added in the MT are based on a traditional belief and denial of the deity of the Jewish Messiah Yeshua. I believe by looking back to the Dead Sea Scrolls and seeing how the Hebrew word was used we can finally see what the intent of the author had in mind.
The Hebrew word in the MT of Psalm 110:1 with the vowel points is Adoni, A-D-N-Y. The Hebrew letters used without the vowel points is A-D-N-Y, the very same letters used for both. Adoni is believed to only mean master and not used of YHWH directly though the Hebrew root “adon” can be used for both man and God. The claim is that this word is only referred to men and angels only. We do not have a complete reading of the DSS on Psalm 110:1 but we can look at other texts in the DSS and see if we can find the usage of A-D-N-Y, without the vowel points, to YHWH God himself. Remember, there were no vowel points in the DSS, so if we can find the usage of A-D-N-Y like the one in Psalm 110:1 and that usage is directed to YHWH God then we can know for sure that the writers of the DSS saw no distinction of the word.
If we look at Isaiah 21:16 in the DSS we find the following below directed and speaking about YHWH, see verse 17. Also below the Isaiah passage, you will see the Psalm 110:1 passage with vowel points added much later.

The Doctrine of the Trinity is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring truths revealed in all of Scripture. The one and only God exists in three distinct, simultaneous, eternal persons. Within the Trinity there is the eternal fellowship of communion among the members of the Godhead, yet, there are not three gods, but one. The true God is unique. He is beyond our limited comprehension. He is wonderful. Yet, in an effort to lower God to human comprehension, many cults and false religions deny the Trinity in favor of a simpler version more amenable to the human mind. But, redefining God means they have a false god, not the God of the Bible.
It is important, then, for Christians to carefully grapple with this doctrine, not only to avoid the enticing lies of false teachers who would lead them astray but also to better know our God and Savior by understanding the astounding things He has revealed to us about Himself!

How can anyone accept a human-God hybrid that needs to eat, drink, and poo.
    Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
    John 17;3
Now this is eternal life: THAT THEY KNOW YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
God-Man theory is a pagan concept brought into christianity to make it sellable to the pagan romans.
    ACTS 14
11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”
Even julius cesar was recognised as a god. And many other gods existed. Its easy to see that to make the new faith of jesus acceptable to the pagan romans the "jewishness" and monotheism had to b sacrificed. And after much conflicts and debates the doctrine of trinity was made official by the council of nicaea 325ad. And 25th december later made the birthday of jesus to fit in the local roman customs of winter celebrations of pagan gods, even though it is widely known that jesus was not born on 25th of december...

The first tangible step towards the trinity was the preoccupation of the 'church fathers' with LOGOS. Since the hellenist culture of the day with its greek philosophy that was so popular was studied by nearly all of these men prior to and after their conversion to 'christianity' the notion that 'since the ( greek ) 'Logos was 'eternal reason', then the Son ( The Word) must be 'God who has always existed'!. However the 'Word' of John 1:1 was written by a simple fisherman ( John) "Unlettered and ordinary ( Acts 4:13) who had no desire to promote greek philosophy but merely called Jesus the 'Word' to illustrate his role as God's 'spokesman'. As Jesus himself said "He who sent me speaks the truth, AND WHAT I HEARD FROM HIM I REPORT TO THE WORLD" John 8:26.Thus it was due to greek philosophy that we can thank for causing the first 'step' in the development of the trinity! This is a FACT of history! The proof is in all books that discuss the devolment of 'Christian doctrine' during the 2nd to the 5th century AD.

Regarding declaring war on subordinationism 33:46-34:05 being the “whole point of the Council of Nicea”, wasn’t a huge part of the Council of Nicea about changing the baptismal formula from being exclusively in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST to Titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost?

Trinity is a Babylonian religious construct based on the worship of Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz. The Christians before 325 CE were called Christoi. These worshipped Serapis Christos the Greco/Egyptian saviour god.

Jesus said " I live because of the father" ( John 6:57 ) "Just as the Father has life in himself, so he has GRANTED also to the son to have life in himself" ( John 5:26) "He gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN son" ( John 3:16) , "There is actually to us One God the father OUT OF WHOM ALL THINGS ARE" (1 Cor 8:6) Also the simple but profound fact that Jesus acknowledged that God was "His father" ( meaning in hebrew & greek 'progenitor principle ). Why tell mere humans who speak of their father as the one who is the passer on of their lives that 'God is my father' if it meant something different to his listeners. We need to accept what Jesus himself said!

According to tradition, Thomas, who uttered the oft quoted words “My Lord and my God”, founded a church in India around 52 AD. In light of its location, this church may have been somewhat isolated from the Trinitarian/Arian controversies that emerged later. We can’t know with certainty what Thomas taught his converts in India, but evidence suggests that it probably wasn’t what some might have anticipated:
    .
“The arrival of a less orthodox Christian visitor to India a few years later, about 354 [CE], is better known in Western church histories. He was Theophilus ‘the Indian,’ a native of islands in the Arabian or Indian Ocean, who was held in Rome as a hostage, converted to Christianity, and sent by Emperor Constantius on an embassy that included visits to Arabia, to his homeland in the islands, and to ‘other parts of India’ (which may or may not have been India proper). There he found Christians whose liturgical practices grated on his sensibilities. The Indians, he said, ‘listened to the reading of the Gospel in a sitting posture, and did other things which were repugnant to divine law.’ He did approve of their doctrine, however, though that is somewhat hard to believe, for Theophilus was an Arian heretic, as was the historian who recorded the visit, his contemporary Philostorgius (ca. 368-439).” (Samuel Hugh Moffett, A History of Christianity in Asia: Volume 1), p. 267
    .
So Thomas founded a church, which was later visited by an Arian who was upset about certain religious practices of the community, but found no issue with their doctrine, which means that the St. Thomas Christians in India held beliefs that were acceptable to someone with Arian views.
    .
It is often said that Arius came along and introduced something new, which the orthodox, who held to a Christology that began with the Apostles, quashed. Orthodoxy was original; Arianism was something new and heretical. If the St. Thomas Christians got their Christology from Thomas himself, as tradition would seem to suggest, then those who favor this assumption have it backwards.
    .
Ironically, it is the one who uttered the phrase offered most often in debates to support Trinitarianism who founded a church whose beliefs were acceptable to an Arian.

Very Interesting! I always feel people who quote Thomas's words forget he was in a very depressed and anxious state at the time! Just because his words are recorded doesnt mean they are to be believed as true! ( Like the words of the people who called Paul & his companions 'gods' ( Acts 14). Actually according to John 10, even the judges in Israel were callled 'gods' ( def; 'powerful one')! Also I just refer people who quote John 20 to verse 17! settles it!

People of the Book! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, and attribute to god nothing except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a Messenger of god , and His command that He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him (which led to Mary's conception). So believe in god and in His Messengers, and do not say: (god is a) trinity. Give up this assertion; it would be better for you. god is indeed just one God. Far be it from His glory that He should have a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth. god is sufficient for a guardian.
