I like how you maintained the integrity and dignity of your new client. They tried DIY cleaning and unfortunately it didn't work out well. You never bashed them or shamed them for doing so. That says a lot about your character. Go hug your parents and tell them thank you.
The thing that got me was it was their first time attempting a DIY cleaning, but instead of testing the waters with their least favorite rug, they did all three in one go. Other than that, you can't really fault a person for trying - though I blame social media for making rug cleaning look easy when it is anything but.
This does prompt for some video ideas. I.e. advice for the non-professionals. What products, procedures, etc., to use for the occasional pet stains, spilled drinks/food, etc.
Every time I watch one of your videos, I just think "professional, professional, professional" ... You're an exceptional young man Miles... Your father must be so proud. Keep up the outstanding work, my friend! 👍🏻
Your attention to detail is such a joy to see!! The result was amazing...she got lucky..but I would love to see how the pink/mauve rug turned out. Your brother is hilarious Miles...I bet holiday dinners are a ton of fun. Keep up the great work guys!!
I enjoyed the video. Thanks for having a channel were I can watch wholesome professionals just go to work and do their thing, and be entertained and informed by it!
Pressure washing a couple door mats or a hallway runner is one thing, but never anything the size or quality of that. You’ve always got to consider that if you buy something expensive, it’s going to cost a small percentage of that to keep it protected
You guys are "Miracle Workers!" It evident because you carefully study the job before you jump on it. No sloppy work. I would definitely be one of your customers but I like in the north.
As a professional cleaner I've really never understood why people undertake trying to clean these valuable item themselves. Particularly when there are professional cleaners such as your company that always does such a perfect job !
I dream of getting my Antique wool rug to a cleaner, but alas, I can't afford to send it all the way 200 miles to the only place I know of that does this work on Vancouver Island. I bought my beautiful rug already dirty from an Antique shop... but it was so beautiful and a good price and not badly worn though a bit faded on one corner. It had previously been owned by the owner of the Antique shop... When he delivered it to my home and saw my Antique furniture (also bought second hand) he wanted to buy it... but no... I am an artist living hand-to-mouth but I have beautiful old things... all bought in consignment shops, thrift shops etc... Now, if only I had enough money to send my one rug to the cleaners... I have five more hand-woven wool rugs but I am so meticulous they don't need cleaning...
@@huskyvacs Or don't buy something you can't maintain. Why do artists so often make poor financial decisions? Lack of impulse control? Maybe that spontaneity helps their artistic endeavors though.
They're trolling lol. Idk what's best, the jokes or the bubbles. I love your hard work and that you're having fun. Work doesn't have to suck that much of you can find some fun.
Yay part two wow you all restored that rug back to its former glory. Myles nice BMW M2 you deserve it as hard as you work I hope you play just as hard!
Your business and service is incredible, I wish we had this kind if service in New England. Great video, and I see the pride y'all have in your outstanding work!
Wow! What a process. I was gearing up to drag our wool Pakistani front hall rug outside to attack it with our new pressure washer and I am now revisiting my decision. Now I understand why rug cleaning costs so much but alas, if you have wool or silk rugs that cost several thousand dollars, they are an investment and should be left to the professionals to be cleaned. Great work guys, and soooo polite and kind.
Wow, the before and after is a big difference! What was the customers reaction? I would say the rug tassels are the biggest difference here. So much cleaner and straighter
from the very beginning of the video i knew this was a professional by the way you treat your customer. then at 3:24 says it all. Dedication and passion.
Your video was very informative and well presented. I'm glad I saw it before I dragged my carpet out on the driveway and began what would be a disaster. Thanks for reinforcing the Dirty Harry adage, "A good man knows his limitations!" I'll bite the bullet and stick with the pros- like you ! Much appreciated !
Was so excited to see the update on these rugs. You guys did an amazing job!! Also enjoyed the ASMR, I don't know why but the giant squeegee is so calming! Great video!!
This randomly came up on my feed. So relaxing to watch. Now I see why it costs so much to get rugs cleaned. Your video your process makes it well worth it. Thank you for sharing.
This is what I wanted to see and learn about. I’m hoping for more on that later in the week. I know they’re very busy and Myles might not have time for the video and voiceover, but I would love to see a clear before and after breakdown, rug by rug,on some of these jobs. Love their work, though.
Hey there fam. Just dropping a text from Bronx NYC. Awesome job as usual. Family team. I am very proud of all of you. Still that hard work and determination and dedication to put your best out there. ❤✌🏾
Very good work ... I love to see young people enjoying their work... To me, any kind of cleaning and restoring is so satisfying to see that end result. I have a lot of admiration for the people who make hand-woven rugs as I know it takes so much time and expertise and to see the older ones cleaned and restored is another kind of wonderful... I have quite a few hand-woven rugs, but no one near here has a cleaning service as you do. I live on the Northern part of Vancouver Island... I think it's over 200 miles to Victoria where I think there is someone who cleans these kind of rugs... Just not possible for me...
I'll make a comment as soon as I finish checking this candy that I'm lifting with my legs, lol! But seriously, it's so great to see watch that rug getting a new life put back into it. The owner must have been frantic when she realized her dyi method wasn't working. So good for her to have you all to do it right!
I love your camaraderie and good cheer, really refreshing to watch. Question: Can you use the CRB on the fringes or is there too much of a risk of entanglement? Have a great week!
I can tell who is the one cleaning the rug just by looking on the rhythm and movements of the cleaning machine on the surface of the rug. Miles is more dynamic, fast and precise. It's hard and exhausting but he makes it feels soo easy 😅
Honestly I'd be dreaming of ways to clean that rug too. I'm continually up for an overcomplicated project. I'm always impressed with how much work you do, and I'm always slightly horrified by how gross people let their rugs get. I'm currently staring at the one in my living room wondering if it would produce cocktail of brown sludge if it was cleaned as well.
"I've been dreaming all night about how I'm gonna wash this rug." - A true sign of passion for the job lol. Those before and after's are my fave. SIDE NOTE; The only kid ever documented to have been poisoned by Halloween candy was poisoned by his own dad for a life insurance policy. The poisoned candy myth is just fear mongering at its best, America likes to keep their people scared because it makes the population somewhat easier to control.
A few years ago I would’ve agreed 100% with your comment, but idk, post pandemic people are crazy. It’s sad but I’d sleep better at night knowing I checked my son’s candy before giving it to him. It doesn’t hurt to just check.
I’ve tried the garden hose method and got almost the same results as your client did. Never had seen a video of washing a rug before, just a janitor on a kind of cleaning mission. Also tried out an extractor that I had borrowed from a janitorial company, same but moderately successful. With the kind of pressure washer that I’ve bought from Harbor Freight, I fear that it’d cut any rug to ribbons.
i have an old OLD 'oriental' rug that belonged to my grt grandmothers family. i used to just hose it off once a year. it was so small i could handle it myself. BUT i lived in the desert southwest back then. id hose it and then hang it over a fence to drain and dry. out there? it didnt even take 2 days to dry in the summer. i dont do that sort of thing where i live now. which is in WV. quite humid here. things dont dry out quickly enough.
i'm almost wondering if there's like before/after forensic data for how dirty some of this stuff is when it shows up; like weight before/after, water spent, time spent, materials spent(though you could keep that to yourself for benchmarking stuff)
You may want to consider showing a picture of the before and after. Also, in this particular case, did you do anything about the tear or did you punt and let the customer figure out what to do?
I knew when I saw that stupid 5 Minute Crafts video where they pressure washed a rug on their driveway that someone would try to do it and that you'd have to end up fixing it. Professionals are professionals for a reason!
Earlier today, 7/1/24, I bought 2 matching wool runners that match the pattern of the rug in your video. Great job on that gorgeous carpet btw. Mine have the fringe which is definitely newer from the rug. It looks as if my runners were cut from a larger rug like the one in the video. They are very old, antique rugs but still in good shape, just need to be deep cleaned. Is it worth it to have 2 rugs of that size cleaned like this?
Question: CRB vs. the new round brush - What's the difference (benefits) between them, and do you have a preference? Thanks for giving us the sequel to the previous episode! We needed this! :)
Great cleaning video! What happens to the drained off dirty soapy water? Does it have to be tested and treated and can it be filtered, cleaned, and recycled through your system?
I was waiting for them to do those rugs. Always a good job. I'm curious tho... during the drying process, how much of that was dirt and how much of that was color/dye from the rug?
I like how you maintained the integrity and dignity of your new client. They tried DIY cleaning and unfortunately it didn't work out well. You never bashed them or shamed them for doing so. That says a lot about your character. Go hug your parents and tell them thank you.

Pressure washing a couple door mats or a hallway runner is one thing, but never anything the size or quality of that. You’ve always got to consider that if you buy something expensive, it’s going to cost a small percentage of that to keep it protected
I watched so much rugvideos that I know that you can pressurewash them, but only with the pressure so low that you can hold your hand in the stream
Right, my thought was maybe outdoor rugs or synthetic, but not something like wool
You guys are "Miracle Workers!" It evident because you carefully study the job before you jump on it. No sloppy work. I would definitely be one of your customers but I like in the north.

Amazing before & after photos of the rungs your new client tried to DIY. What a blessing!!
When I saw the tear in the rug, I gasped aloud. So glad you were able to help!
Very professional and upbeat with your client. Obviously it takes a professional to clean carpets this big, expensive, and woven. Well done!
