    In this video, I will cover the 2022 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock! The Ram Warlock is based on the Ram 1500 Classic SLT trim. The Ram 1500 Warlock has a ton of different options which makes it a great truck, especially for the budget! You can get the Ram 1500 Warlock in the 3.6L V6 or the 5.7L Hemi V8 engine option.

    Fun fact: You can get everything this Warlock has except for the Alpine system, the different hood and the start button in a Tradesman without the Warlock styling if you want. That Tradesman then has either chrome or dark accents.

      If youre getting a Warlock, definitely go for one with the All terrain package (17 inch rims + skid plate) and the Alpine system. Totally worth it

    Love my warlock, added 4 inch lift and ko2s, changed hood latch and enabled remote start, added led headlights, also enabled a bunch of other options with alfaobd like drls etc

    I work for a civil engineering company with one of the perks being a company provided truck, and our entire fleet consists of Ram 1500 Classics, though I've seen a few Warlocks sprinkled in too. My original one was a 2017, single cab w/ premium cloth and the slightly longer bed (which has the factory bed liner). It also had the 5.7 Hemi but aside from that, everything else was pretty standard as far as features go. However, they just recently swapped me into a 2022 quad cab with the Pentastar 3.6, which to be fair, we hardly haul anything over a couple hundred lbs in the bed and pretty much don't use trailers (yet it's equipped with the mirrors that have the extra convex glass lol). Still, aside from marginally better mpg (like 400 mi to a tank vs 365ish with the 5.7) I miss the grunt and torque of the V8. The V6 isn't bad at all, and is honestly plenty of power for anyone who doesn't need to haul anything more than what will fit in the bed. It just feels weird, I guess. Anyway, the 2022 also has bed liner, albeit in a slightly shorter bed cause of the bigger cab, but I prefer having an actual backseat now as it makes it easier for me to pick up my kids on Saturdays after I get off work. It's got that badass 8.4" screen w/ Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, though most of the features highlighted here aren't included (no 4wd sadly, no built in 150w inverter plug, no drawer underneath the radio, and no push button/remote start). All in all, it's still a kickass truck and even the stock 6-speaker system is pretty stellar, as well as having a rough plastic type of liner all across the floorboard front and back since it is a work truck after all. The backup camera is pretty handy too, and with the 8.4" screen you have the option to turn it on to have a look behind you while having it in park still. These 2022 Ram Classics definitely offer a lot of much needed quality of life improvements over previous models. I can't really say if they're worth it vs competing manufacturers, since I didn't pay for mine and I also don't have to worry about fuel costs either, but I just thought I'd offer my two cents on a similar model to this one that's just not the "Warlock" version.

      Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope RAM builds these forever as it's their only single cab 1500 and a proper worktruck that's affordable I imagine they would continue building this for a very long time.

      For me it having an ignition key is one of the biggest selling points. 😂 Why do people even want push button start?

    • @imnotusingmyrealname4566
      @imnotusingmyrealname4566 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I'd want to import an American truck (and right now it's an absolute yes) I'd go with the 1500 Classic even though the new 1500 is officially imported by many companies in Europe. The Classic has push button start and too me is still, even though the new RAM is also gigantic, more American. For those murica points I also have to get the V8. 😂

      @imnotusingmyrealname4566 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Did you like the towing mirrors? I heard the ones on the new Toyota Tundra are super bad. Another reason I won't buy it besides that V6.

    • @couriersix2443

      @@imnotusingmyrealname4566 I agree, the keyed ignition has it's upsides I would just prefer at least having remote start, for those days during the winter where it's cold as hell climbing into it at 4:30am every day. And I wish my '22 had a V8, I miss the 5.7 so much...there's nothing wrong with the 3.6, but it just doesn't feel like it belongs in a full size truck...maybe if they rebooted the Dakota in a proper fashion (like Chevy and Ford with the Colorado and Ranger respectively), it would be a great entry level/standard option. The regular 1500 4-door just needs more torque than the V6 can offer. Plus it doesn't hit peak horsepower until 20-25% away from the redline. But I personally enjoy the body style and appreciate the fact they still offer it under the "Classic" moniker. I just have never, ever, been a fan of the turn dial shifter. It's efficient in the way of having a smaller footprint in the steering wheel/ignition area, but I keep wanting to reach for a column shifting lever as that's how every other truck I've ever driven has been. Especially my own personal '02 1500 with the 5.9 magnum, though I no longer own it anymore. The trans from that generation was a 4-spd piece of shit. Still, what it didn't offer with sheer horsepower, it more than made up for with it's crazy torque (at the time--naturally modern engines have made huge improvements in both HP and torque over the years) though it was a gas guzzling engine for sure 😂 9-11mpg was on a GOOD day lol. Whereas even with my previous single cab 1500 work truck with the 5.7 could do better. And luckily most of the newer Rams, regardless of model/trim have the ZF 8-spd which has been much more reliable (in my opinion anyway)

    Do you know the difference between the DFD and DFK transmission? My guess one is from the 4th gen and the other one is from the 5th gen, or newer at least. A review said the Classic doesn't shift as smoothly as the regular 1500 so it might be that. This is just a wild guess though.

    • @couriersix2443
      @couriersix2443 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the ones I've seen throughout my company (we have like 100+ of the regular Classic models, and like 5-10 Warlock ones) all have a vinyl/pseudo-leather type of material for the foldable arm rest. I could be wrong though, but most of our fleet are pretty barebones as far as options go, so I'd assume that they come standard that way.

    I test drove one of these and experienced nothing special about it. To charge that much for a basic functioning with cloth interior but a sporty hood is ridiculous. I paid $72K for a Powerwagon with a 6.4L V8 and all black leather interior with many, many more extras.

    How us the reliability with those trucks ?

    • @GasGrassOrAssetto
      @GasGrassOrAssetto ปีที่แล้ว

      Theyre rated one of the most reliable, the 5.7 had header bolt and lifter issues early in its life that have been addressed. Lifting them can cause ball joint issues though due to more aggressive suspension geometry angles, though that's hardly exclusive to the Ram
