With street tires expected 17 city 21 highway I even got close to 23mpg on the highway once but I put some Yokohama geolandar MT tires on my warlock and now averaging around 12.8 to 15.4 mpg.
I'm showing 15mpg average on mine, but it really depends on how many traffic lights ur dealing with... also 8th gear tends to kick in at around 40 mph, after coasting and downshifts, at around 30mph during deaceleration (have the standard 3.2 gear ratio....which will give u, 2 overdrive gears.). So for best results u want to be in 8th... which basically won't happen until u go above 40 mph, hence those stop lights and crawl speeds play a huge factor, on that active v8.. which will be on during idle, and acceleration. Highway cruise control, the mpg slider guage will settle at around 24. My guess is that the v6 numbers are 3-4 mpg further across the board.. meaning I'd probably be at 18-19mpg average instead of 15. Though, bet the v6 also can deal with 87 gas better, too. The owners manual recommends, 89 for the 5.7, with 87 being an acceptable, alternative.
It’s pretty meh in the city but that’s expected I get avg 15.6L/100km but on the highway it’s decent with cylinder deactivation I get around 10.8L/100km. As long as you aren’t giving it the beans at every stoplight you’ll be fine 👍
Ram will either kill the warlock in 2022, or customers will. The classic line only offer two of the four engine options. We almost bought one this year, but want the 3.0 (not available on the warlock) for the 30+ mpg hwy. In the next few months, maybe sooner Ram is releasing the Backcountry built on the bighorn. Starting out at 40k which is the cost of a warlock with just the hemi upgrade. The backcountry being built on the bighorn means it'll be on the new ram, not the old like the warlock and express (classic). The Backcountry comes with buckets, bed group package, ect ect free unlike the warlock/express. Which actually makes the Backcountry thousands cheaper with the options. Plus new vs old ram build
I don't think they will kill the Warlock, you can order 2022 models. Definitely would be nice to have the 3.0 on the Warlock but I don't think there would be a crazy high demand especially if they plan on killing the Warlock in the future. The Back Country Big Horn is definitely a great choice especially for someone getting into trucks and wanting the best bank for their money. They released it already here in the Canadian market, I'm sure in the US as well but not sure. It will all come down to what look someone wants.
@@EverythingCarReviews thank you for the reply. I don't think they will put the 3.0 in the warlock either since it's a classic (old) 1500. Being basically the same price when talking about 4x4 5.7 I just don't see how the warlock can keep up. It's build on the old 1500 and doesn't come with included buckets, bed group, ect. I only see two buyers myself. Older folks who love the older 1500 and don't care about the free extras, or bigger dealer discounts vs the Backcountry. So far I can't see any 2022 Rams here in the US. I'm guessing maybe in the dealerships, but I'm waiting for the 2022 Backcountry to hit the website to see if there are any catches.
New generation no matter what will never beat the classic warlock price. That's why they are selling. I was planning to buy a mid size truck like ranger but was almost the price of the warlock, so ram, is competing in that area whereas the new Gen competes in his own department, which is a great strategy for them. Not great to buy a 2022 truck being very old but you get what you for for. Important to remember that at least being old, maybe it has its reliability tested. It's what nissan or Toyota does with their trucks and don't change frequently. Just add some minor upgrades
@@jhguygih As I said in my reply I was wondering about the catches. The warlock is more expensive than the backcountry. The backcountry also has several more features for that cheaper price than the warlock too. BUT as I said I was worried about the catches, and good lord they are terrible. Ram forces you to add over 10k in forced add ons (not part of the package). Puts the truck at a little over 50k US. A lot of truck for the money still. The nail in the coffin for me was you can only get the backcountry in a 5.7. Its built on the bighorn, so I figured the diesel was gonna be available. Just another catch from Ram. We really want the diesel. For the over 30mpg hwy, almost 2k payload, and almost 500lb torque. With that we are going with a 2021/2022 tradesman quad cab 4x4 for 48k. It would be 43k without the diesel. That's including the full tow/camera package, off road group, equipment group, safety group, air ride, electronic locking rear, 3.92s, bed group, ect ecdoesn't have all the fancy, but we want function and practicality like mpg
You are showing some options like the signal on the mirrors that are not necessarily available on all Warlocks just because they are Warlocks. Another thing that they could likely come with if they have the towing option is a back-up camera. The bed lighting is not "standard" either. My '21 Warlock doesn't have the fold down arm rest/cup holder in the back seat. And there is also a storage bin under the fold up base rear seat. There was a RAM truck that came out a little before the Warlock (second coming) was released called the Hydro Blue Sport, and the reason I bring it up, is the Warlock is based on the Sport. I have tried getting some replacement parts (like RAM grille letters to get them blacked out), and the regular letters from the dealer are not the same grille design.
Think it depends on the year, too... my 2019 is basically a Tradesman with fancy wheels, grille and led tail lights (and all '19 Warlocks had the tow hooks and led driver lamps). No fold down back thingy, either. Or fancy mirrors.... or power seat.... and small center screen... the 3.5" one. And no extra upper gauges on the instrument cluster, either. So... as the years went on... standard configurations, changed.
Hang on why would the 3.55 geared V6 truck have almost 3000lb more towing capacity over the 3.21 but the 3.92 geared V6 drops it a couple hundred pounds, how does that make any sense? Is maybe the 3.92 gear only available on say a rebel 4x4 and the bigger tires actually drops the towing capacity due to effectively creating a longer gear ratio? Gotta clarify here. Also the hemi trucks only jump up about 1000lbs going from 3.21 to 3.92, why such a large jump on the V6 3.21 to 3.55. Its a minimal gear change. A 3.21 geared 4x4 hemi truck has almost the same towing capacity as a V6 with 3.55 gears? Something just ain't making sense here people! Lol (Wish Dodge had offered the 3.55 gear in the hemi trucks, would been the perfect in between gear for them, sure miss the old days when you had the option of 3.08, 3.31/3.42, 3.73 and 4.10....dont forget the special order 4.56 gear! And never mind the manual trans!! Woop woop!)
I think you got your towing specs wrong here. You possibly were quoting 2wd figures. For those trucks specifically it's gonna be about 9k for 3.92 gear and close to 8k for 3.21 gear. I bought that literal exact same blue ram there and we had to upgrade to the 3.92 to be able to tow our just over 8k lb camper, the 3.21 geared truck wouldn't be rated for it. Confirmed the build spec sheets at dealer on this. Just so nobody gets the wrong idea here and thinks they are gonna be able to tow a 10k pound trailer with their 4x4 ram half ton! Going to have to move to a Ford if you wanna tow 10k and want a half ton 4x4. New body style rams are significantly up on towing capabilities tho....price too!
Your payload with the hemi is 1500 pounds. I’m sure you said 1200 pounds which is wrong. Why didn’t you show the hemi versions instead of the weak 3.6?
As many reviews as these people do, most cannot afford to buy/try out one of every possible configuration when making these videos. Me personally, I have a '21 Warlock (4x4, 345 Hemi, quad cab, 3.92 gears, and Hydro Blue like this example), and in factory spec (other than a K&N air filter replacement), has a 0-60 time of just about 6 seconds flat. In addition to the carrying payload, it also hauls A$$!
@@EverythingCarReviews Advertised MSRP not too different between Classic and new. However they negotiate more on classics and right now 2021 classics warlock have rebate of $9000-10000 2021 New style (if you can find one) has rebate of $3-4k on a $60k mrsp.
My guess without viewing....the cheaper one is better. I'm bias...I just bought a crew black 2019 2x 5.7 warlock, 3 weeks ago. If u pick the high gear ratio...say goodbye to your mileage and top end. Btw..ur info is all misleading ... all those special warlock features are options.... they are not part of base. No power seats, no leather steering, no upgraded entertainment system..and 4x4 is not standard, neither is anti slip. Bench seating is also standard, bucket is an option. (And is only an advantage if u want more storage space... cause the rotary selector is the only option in all cases.) and the sport hood?... pure cosmetic...non functional...so really, pointless.
It's a great truck for the money. The higher gear ratio is a given. Not misleading at all. I'm not sure about the US market, but here in Canada, when you're building a Warlock you are required to get the luxury group, electronics convenience group, and the sports performance hood. If you get the bench, you also get the power seat with that. We also only carry 4x4's here.

Warlock , hands down!!It’s basically the previous gen Rebel.
Your payload with the hemi is 1500 pounds. I’m sure you said 1200 pounds which is wrong. Why didn’t you show the hemi versions instead of the weak 3.6?
It depends how you spec the truck and because I didn't have one available.
66k for the old body style half ton yikes.
This is in Canada!
@@EverythingCarReviews Advertised MSRP not too different between Classic and new. However they negotiate more on classics and right now 2021 classics warlock have rebate of $9000-10000 2021 New style (if you can find one) has rebate of $3-4k on a $60k mrsp.
45 to50 starting usa.
Looks like Sauga 👍🏼
You got it!
The warlock is a 2021 and my 2011 has more features than it that’s just stupid
My 2010 has the same options 💀
😂 these rams with the 5.7L can easily tow 15,000lbs
That all depends on how you configure the trucks... Crew/quad, 4x4/4x2, etc etc.
2 easy difference….warlock is pretty and express is the ugly friend lol.
😂😂
I’d say other way around 😂
My guess without viewing....the cheaper one is better.
I'm bias...I just bought a crew black 2019 2x 5.7 warlock, 3 weeks ago.
If u pick the high gear ratio...say goodbye to your mileage and top end.
Btw..ur info is all misleading ... all those special warlock features are options.... they are not part of base. No power seats, no leather steering, no upgraded entertainment system..and 4x4 is not standard, neither is anti slip. Bench seating is also standard, bucket is an option. (And is only an advantage if u want more storage space... cause the rotary selector is the only option in all cases.)
and the sport hood?... pure cosmetic...non functional...so really, pointless.
Obviously, a truck for a teenager. Not a real work truck.
You are right it is a muscle truck that I own at 18
