    Hello, I would like to have your opinion on a problem that I encounter with the tanks.
    After a few packs, I notice a sagging damping, let me explain, when I put the xmaxx on the turrets the shock absorbers sink about 15 mm, which is due to air in the damper main body.
    And when I remove the tank cap, I can observe oil above the piston so this oil is necessarily missing in the body.
    So I replace the 2 O-rings of 15X1, I go up the piston with the least pressure in the tank as you explain it.
    And it happens again!
    Thank you in advance for your interest in my question.

    I'm having oil bypass the piston in the piggyback reservoir on 2 of my shocks. As a result I'm left with an air pocket in the shock :-(

  • @AndyPorter79
    @AndyPorter79 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I saw air get trapped in the shock during assembly in the res. piston cup side. I suggest you bleed that.

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There’s actually an air bleed hole in between the two o-rings of the reservoir piston. The piston was inserted slowly to let the air out from inside the piston.

    Does it has a rebound on the shock shaft?after adding the oil and bubble air removed?

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi SPEED TUJUH,
      If you fill the shock with a lot of reserve oil by only pushing down the reservoir
      piston partway during assembly, you can build enough pressure into the shock so
      that it will push the shock shaft out to some extent at equilibrium (the balance between forces).

    hi, i added alot more gear on my xmaxx than it had in its original shape, it weight is 2 kg more than the day one, and i feel the body stays closer to ground than before, i need some stronger sting or shock tower to balance the weight of the body. can you help me with that?

    How much oil did you use per shock and is 30 weight the best for the X maxx?

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @Mike Kennedy,
      2 bottles of oil should be enough. We recommend 30, but a heavier oil weight might suit your needs better.
      Thanks for your interest and support!

      2bottles per shock or per pair?

  • @ukasscod9561
    @ukasscod9561 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pro line, you didnt answer James below so please answer me, what improvement will these give if any, if your pushing the piston all the way down you have only a fraction more oil in your shocks with these as you would without, just an extra spring to slow the oil going through the piston and slow the depression of the shock after a jump is all I can imagine it doing, please explain before I decide to spend £180

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @UKASS COD,
      The reservoirs do not drastically change the damping characteristics of these shocks. They are meant to compensate for the volume of the shaft as it enters the body during compression and keep the internal pressure low and consistent. This is especially helpful with our shock shafts which are larger in diameter than the stock shafts. Keeping the internal pressure consistent reduces the stress on seals and provides more repeatable damping.
      We hope this helps answer your question,
      Thanks for your interest and support!

    After watching this I've realized this is a gimmick, the reservoir piston is so far down into the res that very little extra oil is actually being added to the overall total volume of the shock. I'd love to see a temp check of proline shock vs a standard shock after as 25m bash session. I bet there is little to no difference in temperature. Don't get me wrong here I love proline products but really this is a bling thing, your just as better off to put fake reservoirs on for the look. I think all this accomplishes is creating a much higher chance of building your shocks improperly and reducing the ability for the shocks to perform at their highest level. I think prolines power stroke shock woulda been a better upgrade.
