    GPM has a wicked awesome piggyback shock set they make for the X max now. It even has dual rate springs. And if I remember right, it was less than $100 perPAIR!! They look awesome, they perform even better than they look. I drove my truck with pro lines, but these GPM shocks on my ex max are the only way I will go now. In fact, I even had a pair of StockX Max shocks that I upgraded with M2C 7 mm shaft and cartridge kit-you can even buy just the GPM piggyback caps and create a monster shock using some of the stock parts!!!

    I got the Snap on edition 8s Xmaxx myself and i thought about doing the same thing and using my red stock shock tubes in conjunction with the proline piggyback reservoirs.It looks awesome.. Very helpful video & info on those gaskets. The proline stuff is expensive after spending $1200 dollars on the truck..not to mention changing electronic parts for it to work properly..thats why im changing the reciever, esc, servo first. Then the shocks and badlands and other parts will follow. Thanks for the helpful video!

    I had the same problem with the hd shock shafts. I mentioned it to proline but they didn’t seem to care. I found that the oring was sitting on top of a thread. I clean out the bottom thread with a exacto knife and had no problems after. They left no area for a oring to seat.

    I want the pro-line shafts and cartridge kit. That’s it! Don’t need the shock bodies, or the piggy back shock caps. I just want the 6.5MM shock lowers. They are like $45 for (2) so $90 total. And then you get a thicker and coated shock shaft, with delrin parts for smoother operation. That’s all the X-Maxx needs! You don’t need the shock bodies, you don’t need the shock caps, don’t need the dual
    rate springs...

    I ordered the proline shock shaft kit, and proline shock body kit. Going to re-use stock xmaxx shock caps. I also ordered new Traxxas stiffer springs. So i’ll be running full proline HD shocks only with stock xmaxx caps lol. Good enough for me. This alone was like $242 for all (4) lower shock shafts, (4) shock bodies, (4) Traxxas springs, and 8 ounces of 37.5wt oil. I’m greatly looking forward to the larger shafts and smoother delrin piston shocks. It’s gonna be nice!!

    You're supposed to cycle the shock a few times before you put the screw in the bottom of the reservoir

    Proline resy caps are just for looks and are expensive but the mcd resy shocks. The resys are actually functional and compression and rebound are adjustable like full size race shocks

    I have the reservoirs my truck as well as the proline dual rate springs. Ha I dont even know what advantage they add. I dont drive my truck much. Maybe 7 times in one year. It has never seen dirt. I do admit they look cool. Good video. Very nice truck. I do need to add the new shafts. As u said I see them, i want them.

    How do you correctly bleed the main shock cap. What's the correct procedure?
    Theres a little screw on the top of the main cap.

      They have better dampening and the dampening is adjustable....also, I suggest you get the dual rate springs. That's what I did along with full aluminum wide arms and it handles far better than stock. Much more planted and less bouncy

      You don't. The stock shocks are fantastic. The reality is that when you have a grand to spend on an rc truck, you probably won't shy away from an extra $500 in after market parts just cause.

    • @adamaj74
      @adamaj74 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brandoncomer6492 Right about the shocks being ok. Wrong about the money, lol. A lot of people save a long time to be able to buy a thousand dollar RC. You're out of touch if you think it's nothing to then turn around and spend half again as much on shocks. I know my wife would look at me like I was nuts if I dropped a grand on an RC and then said I needed to spend $500 more on shocks, lol. She'd be like "wtf??? Didn't it COME with shocks ffs??" lol

      @JasonPerrinRCVlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny you ask that. No. Mine had no rebound either. I was going to contact Proline and ask. I rebuilt the one a few times trying to get it to rebound like all other shocks are suppose to.

    • @rustler08
      @rustler08 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your shock is pushing back out, that means you're building pressure in it, which is going to lead to failure. When you push the shaft in, the fluid is going through the hole and shifting where that fluid is in relationship to the piston. However, that shouldn't create pressure.
