      Agree. Young is great on every level from athlete to human being. The reason Brady fell to the 6th round in 2000 was due to the teams looking for the next Steve Young. A QB who wins games with hit arm & his legs.

    I’m definitely not over Mac. I still think he can be our stud. Give him what he deserves. Offensive coach, number one receiver, and a GOOD line. I really think Van Pelt will direct Mac to succession

    • @mtadams2009

      That is never happening. NE offense needs so many holes field and there is no way they are giving him a second contract for ten of millions. Mac will need to find a new team. He is probably better off as this is going to be long and painful rebuild. I don’t think a lot of people realize how poorly Bill did on the offensive side of the ball when it came to building a real NFL offense. They have like two good players and one is older, Andrew’s.

      Youre exactly right. By no means do I think Mac jones is a star but they did nothing to help him along. Mac's talent is very limited. He is not a big physical specimen that can deliver strikes downfield. He's also not going to beat you by breaking tackles and extending plays with his legs. The pats should have recognized that and at least gave him one or the other. He has never had a great reciever, and they havent protected for him since his rookie year.

    If Drake Maye falls to you grab him. He's going to be like Josh Allen. He's big fast and has a cannon for an arm. I don't care what Steve Young says Mac Jones doesn't have the arm strength or the physical ability to get yards on his own. He has to anticipate and lob his throws. Jayden Daniels is awesome to he's a better passer than Drake May but he's gonna be glass.

    No plan at the QB and poor drafting was Bills undoing. To many misses in the first round. I never understood how they let Tom walk and they had absolutely no plan at the most important position on the team. Cam Newton at the 11 hour.

    • @Speedyreedy1218
      @Speedyreedy1218 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mafootballguy7077 That's the spirit. I'd take the WR if it's Harrison immediately at three.
      However, if there is a trade down and somehow we get two first rounders, double dip with the best OL and WR available. Just like we double dipped, I believe in 2012, we got Chandler and Hightower.

    • @mafootballguy7077
      @mafootballguy7077 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Speedyreedy1218That's a fine move, too. The absolute last thing I wanna see is him walking and succeeding when I (and clearly you) know darn well he can succeed right where he is.

    • @Speedyreedy1218
      @Speedyreedy1218 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mafootballguy7077 Exactly. I wouldn't even get rid of BB either as long as he maintained focus on the correct draft board and assured stability at the OC position this year.
      Kraft messed up, letting Brady get #7 on another team. He's going to look even more foolish if BB gets Schula's record and Mac gets a ring somewhere else. If Detroit moves on from Geoff (Jameson Williams was one of the Bama WRs I believe Mac had). There's another on the Texans, Eagles, and Dolphins (if they move on from Tua).

    • @mafootballguy7077
      @mafootballguy7077 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Speedyreedy1218 Yeah, you're right. Patricia as OC 2 seasons ago was a huge mistake, and the Krafts didn't veto it. Same with moving on from Brady (BB wanted to, and the Krafts didn't say no). Let's at least hope that things change offensively under Mayo.🙏

  • @quiddity131
    @quiddity131 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    "There was no plan!"
    Yes, there was a plan, his name was Jimmy G. the issue is Brady continued to perform at a high level far longer than anyone expected and you couldn't hold onto Jimmy G forever, hence trading him so they didn't get nothing for him. They could have chosen Jimmy G over Brady at that time, but doing so means likely giving up 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 championship, something I'm sure F&M wouldn't have liked.
    "They should have known Brady would continue to be good into his 40s!"
    Really? Because F&M was non-stop bashing Brady throughout that time period, claiming he was going to fall off a cliff. Felger constantly compared things to when Favre fell off a cliff. They claimed it so much that F&M was nicknamed the "Brady in decline" show by their own colleagues. And that's even before getting into how often Felger claimed Brady was on steroids and was a cheater.
    "After Jimmy G left they didn't draft any replacement!"
    Really? They drafted QBs in both 2018 and 2019. Now you can criticize them for drafting guys that ended up not being good. But to say they had no plan is disingenuous.
    "Those don't count! They should have used a first or second rounder on a QB!"
    Really? Using a draft pick that high instead of using it to win now? The Pats would have been absolutely destroyed for doing that. Let us not forget that the Pats used their first round picks in both 2018 and 2019 on offensive skill position players. Now N'Keal Harry certainly ended up being an epic bust, but BB did what the media wanted, using a high draft pick on a WR. Criticize them for the individual pick, not the plan. On a related note, the media claims they didn't do anything to bring in weapons for Brady at the end, but in addition to those two high draft picks mentioned above they also got Antonio Brown and used a high draft pick to trade for another WR for Brady. They absolutely were trying to get him weapons. Criticize BB for the individual transactions made, but knock off this "no plan" crap. It is false and you totally know it is.

    I believe in Daniels. Three-year window. I think we can be back in the mix if the Patriots invest in him and build around him smartly. Mac Jones can start next season. Or bringing a veteran to mentor Daniels while he learns throughout the first season, then starts the following season bringing in good pieces around him.

      @@mattl8774 no they will be making the playoffs in three years if they draft him. Build around him the right way. Chicago will be hurting if they draft WILLIAMS because he will be a bust. Drake has potential and so does Daniel’s. WILLIAMS is only 6 feet tall. Daniels has the potential to be elite. It’s worth taking the chance.
