He makes these excuses for failed quarterbacks because he wants people to think coaching is the reason he was a failure as a quarterback. It’s on the player. Nobody made McCorkle throw into triple coverage. He did that. One failure of a qb protecting another just to clear his own name.

He does, but he is hesitant to say that Mac's best case scenario going forward might be backup qb. Mac never was going to blow you away with his physical talent, the strength was supposed to that he was a great game manager and decision maker. He hasnt shown that and at times has loooked completely panicked and rattled.

Mac Jones once knew how to throw a football. Between 2021, Josh McDaniels leaving and Now, Mac Jones is Mentally and Spiritually Stripped! He needs to walk away from the game, come back with a legitimate QB Coach, and a legitimate Support Staff/System. Probably away from the Scars of New England. I personally, wish him luck!

Love his comments around building a team then findings your QB. Everybody wants to quickly rush to judgment and take whichever QB is left standing at pick 3. That is not the only way to build a team. For example, we could:
    1. Auction pick 3 to teams targeting Marvin Harrison Jr with targets trade partners right behind us at pick 4 (Cardinals) and pick 5. Interestingly, Chargers are in cap he’ll and we are not. Could we get an offensive veteran in a trade package (Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams + future picks)? Who says no to Pick 5 + Pick 37 + Austin Ekeler for Pick 3?
    2. We could likely get even a greater return auctioning pick 3 to QB hungry teams: Falcons (pick 8), Vikings/Broncos/Raiders/Saints (pick 11-14).
A trade down scenario could double the amount of talent we are adding to this team in the next 1-2 years and we are a team desperate for offensive talents and if we are smart a team who should upgrade and target a youth movement in defense to continue to be defensively dominant.
I’m excited to see the direction we take.

      @charlesfaure1189 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Zach Wilson I think also went to a bad location for him. I think he needed a better supporting staff and better coaching to have had a chance. He went to a place with neither who also has a bad culture, world's biggest media, bad ownership on top of it. He still may have flamed out but for a guy who still was a lil raw and needed refinement he wasn't in the right place. I think some of these teams need to to think about who they are and if they match the player

No need for our staff to listen to two idiots (Edelman and Ninko) who never played with Mac10. If Shanahan wants him, the Pats need to SAY NO!!! Oh, and qb is never a sure bet.

If it makes Patriot fans feel any better, it appears all 5 of the QB’s drafted in the top 15 of Mac’s draft class are also hot trash. It might go down as one, if not the worst QB draft classes ever! It doesn’t appear there is a single franchise QB in the bunch. One day Pats fans might be able to look back and say Mac sucked just as bad as all the other QB’s in the 2021 class, or at least he wasn’t any worse than any other QB in his class.

I really don't like Mac Jones being on this team anymore, he's a toxic teammate and personality. Mac Jones screwed himself, nobody else to blame but himself. Zappe is better and got better results with the offense while having some guys injured like Stevenson and Pop Douglas. I loathe Mac Jones to the poiint where I feel like I am gonna pick a new team if he is still here. I am a 30 plus year fan of the Patriots who stuck with them even if they weren't the best, but Mac Jones is the absolute worst. It the Patriots are serious about winning and having a good locker room, they would draft a QB and get rid of Jones. Zappe is a better option as backup.

😂😂😂 Mac ( the backup ) Jones was never going to be a starting NFL qb because he cannot throw with accuracy beyond 10 yards and cannot throw with anticipation ( also cannot see defenders ) but biggest problem is he processes the play on the field about 1/2 second too slow ( beyond a normal NFL qb let alone an elite one ) he is Ryan Fitzpatrick .5 , he may be a great chalk board warrior but on the field he will always be subpar. ( also not well liked by significant portion of his team apparently)

I'm way late to this party but sometimes QBs don't fail on talent alone. Ask David Carr. Sometimes the QB is ruined…That nails it describing Mac Jones experience as a Patriot. As a native Pats fan, I was disgusted by the mismanagement. At the very least, his opportunity to succeed was ruined by mishandling. At worst he was very possibly a victim of intentional sabotage by a vindictive HC. IMO, Belichick is a hypocrite. Belichick expects EVERYONE ELSE to be accountable and team driven so, WHY ISN'T HE??!! I put the blame squarely on COACHING for the decline of Mac. Let's not forget Mac's success.
Season 1: Made Playoffs @ 10-7 and pro-bowl alternate: That doesn't happen by accident in the NFL! Mac wasn’t flawless but deficiencies were completely coachable.
Season 2: He loses a great OC, replaced by a couple meathead yes men with NO Offensive credibility!... Couple that with head scratching, uncomplimentary, offensive schemes/gameplans. Add the HC undermining Mac's confidence by benching him after ONE interception in a game! W*F!! How many other HCs would bench the starter after ONE interception early in a game??!! Answer: NONE!!
Season 3: Under "sink or swim" duress with another questionable meathead OC, more inexplicable schemes/gameplans, and no support from an uncommunicative dis-engaged HC!! Recipe for failure ONLY!
Was Mac Jones at all responsible for his decline? The answer is: MINIMALLY! Yes, he is high strung and impatient. Yes, he lost the team by calling out teammates for perceived failures. Yes, he was guilty of being a young immature player who made some poor decisions. None of those things were good, but he was understandably frustrated in dealing with an UNTENABLE situation!! I wish the best of success to Mac and my personal apology. I am embarrassed by what my team did to him. He should have had a 4th Pats year with a legit chance to thrive…
It's abundantly clear that Belichick is a brilliant Narcissist. He's the best defensive mind the game has ever seen, but he has NO respect for offense and offensive players, and NO respect for the Owner that employs him. He has repeatedly undermined what was best for the team while claiming otherwise. Sitting Malcolm Butler in SB 52 threw ALL Players under the Bus! How was that best for the TEAM?! Players are human and all different. It's a HC duty to manage personalities and CREATE an atmosphere of SUCCESS for overall TEAM benefit! Ruining the starting QB consciously or unconsciously because he isn't "your guy" is Textbook NARCISSISM and absolutely NOT what is “BEST” for the TEAM!
Belichick does what is best for his EGO! He may have cut his football teeth under Navy Athletics, and he may THINK he runs a team modeled on the military, but he does NOT! He FORGOT that EVERY serviceman swears an oath and is accountable to a higher authority! The Admiral or General, may not agree with or even respect The President, but it's their duty to their country to follow orders and to NEVER undermine or subvert “The Boss” or the MEN under their command. Belichick should never again be trusted with a HC position. He's borderline megalomaniacal, and a cancer in any position of authority. I would hire him as a DC with very minimal authority only.
IMO, players were willing to endure the "Belichick Way" because they believed TB12 ensured a legitimate SB shot year after year. Yes, the defenses were equally important to the repeated success, but The GOAT was the GLUE that held it all together. When the glue dissolved, it unsurprisingly fell apart.

His physical skills aren’t great either. He’s a weak armed QB with below average athleticism. He does possess decent size, but doesn’t appear to be very strong for his size. If you read this in a players scouting report there is no way any NFL team would take him in thr first round, but i guess when you played at Alabama, teams tend to over look your clear short comings.

Says Jones could do what Purdy is doing, then immediately talks about why there's no chance Jones could do what Purdy is doing. Describes Belichick as 'One of the smartest coaches" while discussing one of the most patently stupid decisions in the history of coaching. Brady made Bill look smarter than he is--just look at the way the Patriots spiraled into the ground when Belichick actually needed to be a great head coach.
