- Yanworth is a small English Vvllage located in Gloucestershire, Cotswolds England. It has a rich history dating back many centuries.
Yanworth's history can be traced back to ancient times. The village and its surrounding area have evidence of prehistoric settlement, including the presence of barrows (burial mounds) dating from the Bronze Age.
Like many English villages in rural England, Yanworth's history is closely tied to agriculture.
A local story suggests that 6 Royalist soldiers escaped from the Battle of Stow-on-the-Wold in March 1646. They were killed and buried at Yanworth in a mass grave. No one knows where the site is

Beautiful! I adore English villages....They are so idyllic, fairytale and beautiful. I was in Becton, Norfolk for several years ago and since then I haven't stopped dreaming of the English countryside. That poetics in reality is so divine, so inspiring and unrepeatable.
I just returned to my home in Florida after two wonderful weeks in the Cotswolds. Before going I had watched many of your videos, including some in the villages I had planned to visit. While there I enjoyed early morning walks, Kevin style, silently strolling thru the lanes listening to birds, seeing a surprising number of flowers still in bloom and discovering the amazing stonework of buildings & walls. The morning sunlight on the distant rolling hills was incredible. What a fantastic and peaceful place. Thank you for these reminders…

The green compliments the style of the Cotswolds; I did get a kick out of the picket fences: they are more common in the USA-such a contrast from the stone walls! Lovely to see roses still in bloom! And the interior of the church has simple elegance.

It might be a local custom, just like in Provence all the doors, etc are light blue, and in Sweden most of the houses are reddish-brown? I don't know, but it's charming 😊

I was wondering if it was spring, 'til I saw the pumpkins by the door of the house at the end of walk! Besides the wonderful green paint, the countryside is still so green compared to the beautiful autumnal colours of my corner of Ontario, Can. Thanks for another quiet meander, Kevin.

I wonder if that special green colour on doors all over the Cotswold villages is an agreement or prescribed or so? Here in Yanworth it is darker than elsewhere.

To guarantee some sun! I agree the UK is beautiful, but after a disappointing July and August like it was this year, you just have to get a dose of real, hot sun or you couldn't face the next few months!
