I passed 3 years ago and i still watch these videos😂 but one thing my instructor always told me that will help anyone with their mirror checks would be NRNM (New Road, New mirrors) so every time you turn onto a new road, have another check on all your mirrors.

Good job, Dan. Given a number of the faults can be at least partially put down to an unfamiliar car (width for touching the curb, clutch bite for stalling, brakes a little sharper) that's a great result.
Hi man! I just want to tell you that I aprecciate a lot your videos it really helped me to pass in my driving test! OBS: In Portugal if we do what the boy did in minute 6:32 it is automatically a fail in the exam and they will not pass you, a lot of people in Portugal can´t take the driving license on the first try because of that, if we go up the sidewalk with the car, we fail the exam, its ridiculous. Big hug man, keep the excellent work, good drivings! ;)

You can really tell the difference between a comfortable driver and a timid/nervous driver not confident in their knowledge or abilities eh? This dude made some mistakes but being a learner that's totally fine and will be corrected literally within the first month of driving regularly. His awareness and shifting is what stood out to me. Really comfortable with the clutch and knowing what gear he should be in. When things went wrong he never panicked and got it corrected quickly and safely. Just a solid young driver honestly.

Think of it as your normal lesson. -CHECK, CHECK AND THEN CHECK AGAIN in any situation. -If youre coming out of a junction, make sure you look both sides PLENTY. -If youre stopping, check the centre mirror ALWAYS. -If youre turning right, check centre and right mirror. Same with turning left but centre, left mirror. -When you're stopped at a traffic light, CHECK your left mirror for cyclists and let them go first -If you're turning right on a crossroad, make sure you wait in the right space and if it turns red, you'll have to go if youre the first car but if theres space for you to wait without blocking anyone then do that. -Always leave space between you and the car infront so that when you stop behind it, you should still see the tyres of it and abit of the ground. -When you're going past parked cars, leave a reasonable gap but if theres cars coming from the other side too, reduce your speed as you get close to a parked car since a parked car's door can open any moment. -Remember that if there's cars parked on your side of the road, you need to give way and just wait by giving oncoming vehicles plenty of space especially busses and lorries. -If you see a car doing a manoeuvre infront you, MAKE SURE to wait until it has stopped. -When you're doing a manoeuvre, make sure to check all around you and when your car starts to swing out, MAKE SURE to check the right blind spot. -During a manoeuvre, if you see a car from behind or a car infront of you, you need to stop your manoeuvre and wait until every car has passed. If you see pedestrians on the pavement, MAKE SURE to stop too. It's okay to stop during the manoeuvre and do your 6 checks but make sure youre constantly checking. -If you come off a roundabout and your view in the exit lane is restricted, come out at a reduced speed because you don't know what could be happening on the new road. -Build your speed appropiately but you don't always have to go up to the speed limit since it may not be safe to. -Be very wary if there is a school around and pay attention to zebra crossings, always scan it from both sides -Reduce your speed at traffic since it could change and a hard brake could result in failure due to 'response to traffic' -If you stall, it doesn't necessarily mean you've failed so just try to remain calm, turn the car back on and go. But also make sure you know why you've stalled, could be because of 2 reasons: you lifted the clutch too fast or youre on the wrong gear so make sure youre on the right gear first before you stall again and panic more. -If you realise you've made a mistake, don't dwell on it because it might just have went down as a minor regardless of how big you think it may have been -Try not to take short gaps at junctions or roundabout, you'd rather get a minor for hesitation than a major for slowing down a vehicle. -THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT: if you're waiting behind a bus and cars start overtaking YOU, it could be game over for you because youre now the problem too. If that does happen, indicate and go round the bus or whatever it is you need to over take BUT MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MIRRORS FIRST. -Remember your routine: if you need to turn left or right, DONT slow down first especially at a fast speed. Check the mirrors first, then signal and then turn left or right. Just after the cyclist there is a part where you say he should've signalled right to show the driver behind that he would be moving over because of the parked cars. I wonder if I would've signalled at that point? Because id worry that signalling right could signal to other road users that I was going to turn right at that junction? I'm not saying you're wrong in anyway, I'm just learning at the moment and trying to understand. Thanks :)
I failed my first test because I came too close to the curb AFTER having parked while reversing a corner. Never hit it, and I wasn't going to and even if I did I was still only going 5km/h using the clutch. Wasn't even given a chance to redo it. With everything else being textbook driving that 1 mistake failed me. I was told on my second test that I passed with flying colors and made 0 mistakes. Sometimes the driving inspector really screws you over because they want to which is kind of their job but damn when they tell you that it's an assessment of your driving as a whole they focus on and still fail you on 1 minor mistake it really makes you furious. What can you say, Sweden is strict on those things. I've had my license for 6 weeks and it's been the most fun I've had in a good while.
Ah, I had mine for almost 2 weeks. My parking is terrible when I’m doing it in an underground car park. I reversed park and my back wheel touched the curb and I also could not fit the car in the bay properly, I didn’t know how to fix it. I was also too close to the pillar on my side. Anyway, I decided to abort that reverse park bc I saw a car waiting for me due to my car not being fully inside the bay. Found a less crowded space in the car park to do a right forward park and parked on an angle due to not being confident I could straighten it without hitting the cars in the bays besides mine. So I left my car parked on an angle but it was within my bay. Still upset me since I couldn’t park it straight :( if an assessor tested me on underground parking they prob wouldn’t pass me 😨 I asked my dad to help & show me tomorrow for this underground parking and he said he will. It’s more difficult since the bays aren’t as wide and there’s pillars on at least one side of the bay😅
if there's no-one around then the answer is no. But, you're right, it's always safer to signal when moving off from a parked position. Some examiners can mark it as a fault. For the emergency stop, the answer is no because you're already (or should be) in the road, so signal isn't necessary.
I am a driver from different country. What I don't understand and I see on multiple of your videos is that the drivers stand on the clutch the whole time, having the handbreak pulled up, geared engaged. This is so weird to me. Why are they doing this? Is this how they learn to drive? The way we were learnt: You get to the intersection, break, clutch, neutral, step on a break - if there is a window, you put a gear 1, go... I never EVER use a handbreak in normal traffic unless I was in a really steep hill.
Surprised he passed tbh considering he mounted the pavement not once but twice whilst doing maneuveres.He was also very heavy on the brakes a good few times..Would this be serious if a car was behind him?.Also the stalling at the roundabout surely was borderline serious fault as off course he was holding up the traffic.

Me too, I thought this would be how to pass a test video with tips but there was a lot of errors. Some errors I've seen be classed as serious before.
There's no way that roundabout wasn't hesitation. In the very least he should've said "some examiners would mark that as a serious, some not".
In Belgium if you mount the curb for any time, even a millisecond, you automatically fail the test, even if the road and sidewalk is completely empty
