My instructor always tells me that some instructors out there are just robbing people and this showed it very clearly he wasn’t taught things he should have been taught in his very first lesson
In the early days of learning many instructors talk about Giving Way and moving off when it is clear i.e. no traffic coming and do not say "when it is safe". The transition to busy roundabouts can become problematic. If only there was an on line course that would explain such things in detail.
Funny how it's a serious fault to park on pavement when there are several cars ahead parked fully or partially in that way. Just shows how these supposed rules go out the window when you pass.
@@joshlucas4269 That's the hypocrisy though. They'll fail you for it while a row of cars ahead are doing the same. It's commonly done amongst experienced drivers.

A couple of things that really annoy me as a driver of many years about other drivers are: People who just dump their car kerbside when they have a big driveway. It is bad enough when so many houses in the UK do not have drives or garages so the owner has no choice but to park their car either kerbside or half on the road/half on the path. I, like my neighbour are fortunate and have both a drive and garage, I have one car and park it in my garage whilst my neighbour has a van and a BMW but will often park both on the front and leave thier drive and garage totally empty. Then when they have visitors they park on my front spoiling the view of the small park opposite my house. What is worse is we live on a bend in the road. All for the sake of a few extra seconds of turning into their own driveway. The next thing is the mass idiocy of none indication. What wrong? Is everyone fearful the government will send you a bill at the end of the month for how many times you indicated whilst driving? If I had a penny for every time I see someone not indicate to either turn at a junction or to switch lanes or to use a roundabout then I wouldn't need to work. I see this dozens of times, every time I go out somewhere. You was required to do it on your test so do it once you've passed please.
This channel is just amazing, been watching it for quite some time now. I'm finally starting to learn how to drive and have good knowledge I think because of these videos. Many thanks, these are a great help.
I passed my test about 5 months ago with 4 minor faults. Today, I was driving behind a learner and I was trying not to be judgy because ive been in their position but I could tell they were new to driving. They were driving pretty much in between 2 lanes rather than in the middle and when a traffic light went orange, myself and everyone around slowed down, they were right in front of me and they didnt look like they were slowing down, i was just thinking ‘damn, they’re gonna run the red?’, they did, but the parent in the vehicle must have told them too late that they had to stop because they screeched to a halt in the middle of the intersection. I left room so they could back up. They did back up, but not to be fully behind the line. All i could think was DAMN my mum would have been screaming at me “THIS IS HOW I DIE” My mum always said “STOP” right as it turned orange, even if I saw it, or she’d say “GO” if it was kind of close
I watched so many of your videos before I did my test as I never had an Instructor my partner taught me and your videos thankyou I passed with 2 minors 😊
Don't worry Jude. Once you've had your side mirror knocked off a couple of times you'll be right back on that kerb. Not all cars can rotate them inwards. Save yourself the headache.
You are only allowed on a pavement when you see a verge parking sign , or entering into a property drive way, if the road your turning into and its extremely narrow and theres no danger then a bit of your back tyre can be on the pavement as your front wheels enter the road with out your front wheels mounting the kerb first ... i was extremely shocked and gob smacked to see this learner driver completely break the rules of being on a pavement in a car. Stephen Patpal - Bristol.
Hi Stephen, You shouldn't be bumping your back tyres on the pavement when you're making a turn, when turning into a road you should be slowing down suitably and turning the steering wheel fast enough to avoid this from happening. It may not be that dangerous but you're sure to end up with problems with your tyres and suspension after a while.
This is the first DGN mock test video I am watching since passing my driving test on Friday on my second attempt. These videos really did help to identify the kind of mistakes that can occur and how the test would be marked. I'm not sure why drivers today are even bothering to learn in a manual. UK car market is moving to automatic and it'll reach a stage where a manual is harder to come by and will cost more. I've driven manual for 5 years now, but I'll be getting a VW Polo with a DSG box after having test driven one.

I have been driving for 16 years and can say the instructor is decent and fair.I enjoy watching the videos as there is always somthing to learn from.I still somtimes struggle with new roundabouts i havent approached before with which of the lanes to be in. if there is heavy traffic ahead approaching the roundabout as i cant see the road markings, ie if the left lane is turn left only or turn left aswell as straight ahead.I have had to many times on the motorway exit to roundabout thought the left lane was straight ahead as well as turn left, only to realise at the last moment its a turn left only, and end up having to go down the wrong exit on the motorway 20 miles 😂

Driving today is more like ‘Wacky Races’, and other vehicles act in so many haphazard and crazy ways, that just ‘surviving’ is the order of the day. Tailgating is one of the most dangerous things I see these days, many drivers haven’t got a clue about about the ability of stopping in case the car in front has to brake suddenly. I feel that in so many cases it is the car that is controlling the driver and not the other way round! Another major error I see these days is drivers signalling turning far too late, almost just as they are turning! What point is that?

Well done on passing your test, I'm glad the videos were helpful. As you said I do mark on the harsher side but that's because on the day you can't predict how strict the examiner will be so its better you are aware what can be marked as a serious and why.
Welcome the DGN Alumni!!
I passed my test today with just two minors. Your videos been incredibly helpful . Thank you so much
Congrats. I've passed my theory first try and onto booking my practical asap

You should do a series for people who have passed see if they would still pass these days or fallen into old habits Been on the road for years you and still watch your videos there class refreshing and entertaining keep it up 👊
Absolutely 100% agree. In my opinion there should be a compulsory DVSA driving test every 10 years to keep drivers safe on the roads.
@@darenbayliss7173 couldn’t agree more I’d take that I see some shocking sights on the road I’d love to see if I would pass my test again a few years on
@@darenbayliss7173 are you two for real? Driving test are already too hard and nowadays barely you can find any slots available for booking, plus examiners are often on strikes, and you two ask for a compulsory Driving test every 10 years? If that the case nobody will be on the road

I passed my driving test 35 years ago and full motorcycle test a year before that. It's amazing how many bad habits you pick up after taking your test. Most drivers don't do half of what's required.
Want to thank you massively! Just passed my test first drive with 5 minors. Almost thought she got me. Yesterday i watched all your videos before going sleep i had my test at 11am today! Thanks so much! :))
I passed my driving test today with 2 minors. Your videos have been so incredibly informative. Thankyou 😁
Where did you do it?
Past today with 1 minor. Hopefully you see this, I’d just like to say thank you so much. You’ve acted like a second driving instructor and helped me so so much. Really appreciate it. I can now watch your videos in peace and not worry anymore. Legend. 👍🏻
4:47 . The way you kept on looking at his hand questionably😂😂
:D idk I use my middle finger a lot. For me, it just makes a lot more sense using the longest one.
didn’t realise i did that bad but thank you for letting me come on the channel pin.
You've only had 15 hours so don't be too hard on yourself
I didn't even get up to 3rd gear in 15 hours.
You smashed it considering you had only 15 hours !
you did a lot better then some of the people on this channel

Finally passed my actual driving test back in august 9th with no minors at all, thank you for the experience again pin!
Passed my test today first time with 0 minors! Thanks for these videos they have been fantastic help!
congrats and great job on 0 minors I got 4 minors.
Well done🎉
My instructor always tells me that some instructors out there are just robbing people and this showed it very clearly he wasn’t taught things he should have been taught in his very first lesson
Passed my test on the 3rd attempt on the 4th January after 2 years of lessons. These videos have really helped, thanks!
The rule for a driving test is that you DO NOT park on a curb unless the examiner specifically tells you
@@joshlucas4269 That's the hypocrisy though. They'll fail you for it while a row of cars ahead are doing the same. It's commonly done amongst experienced drivers.
Parking on the pavement is a should not rule in the Highway Code. Unless you’re in London where it’s a must not. It’s a serious fault on the driving test as you have chose to park in a position which can obstruct and inconvenience pedestrians without the instruction of the examiner
@@Para_Sean Why do so many people do it then? Without repercussion?
@@the1AndOnlyIRONFIST because it’s not against the law unless you’re in London. People do it because they don’t care about people in wheelchairs, people with prams. All they care about is where they can put their massive box of metal on wheels
The middle finger part was quite funny, esp ur subtle reaction
See when I’m closer to my test I’d literally going from Scotland for a wee night to do this mock test lol he’s full of information. He would be really critical. Which is very very good

Am I the only one who thought he needed to push his chair forward? He didn’t move a lot in his seat to look around etc and looked uncomfortable? Maybe it’s just me…. Passed on my second go this channel really helped me
Well done on passing your test
Nice that you explain the faults at the end, my examiner for my test last week had a go at me after every fault I made during the test
A couple of things that really annoy me as a driver of many years about other drivers are:
People who just dump their car kerbside when they have a big driveway.
I passed today and it was my first time taking the test. I would like to thank you for such helpful and guiding videos. Keep doing it!
It was a learning curve for him was also probably very nervous but very good learning curve and he should be very appreciative of the advice
“Here I’m wondering if Jude is trying to send me a message”😂😂😂
All i could think was DAMN my mum would have been screaming at me “THIS IS HOW I DIE”
My mum always said “STOP” right as it turned orange, even if I saw it, or she’d say “GO” if it was kind of close
😂😂😂 he was def sending you a signal Pin🖕 😂 . You’re facial expression was so hilarious
Just a heads up, so you can adjust your volume on your speakers, the ‘horray lady’ does makes an appearance. 8:41 😂😂😂

I'd love say huge thanks to you and your videos. I passed my test with 3 miners
Hi Stephen,
You shouldn't be bumping your back tyres on the pavement when you're making a turn, when turning into a road you should be slowing down suitably and turning the steering wheel fast enough to avoid this from happening. It may not be that dangerous but you're sure to end up with problems with your tyres and suspension after a while.
This is the first DGN mock test video I am watching since passing my driving test on Friday on my second attempt. These videos really did help to identify the kind of mistakes that can occur and how the test would be marked. Also since I was doing my test in Wolverhampton these videos helped me remember the routes/roads which I feel made a difference as I knew what type of situations I was coming up to (e.g a steep hill at the end of the road) so I could mentally prepare.
Congrats.
Any tips please have my test on Tuesday
@@beepbleep8842 just take your time and treat it like a normal lesson. I didn't know this until 20 minutes before my test but you are allowed to have the radio on very low so if you are like me and the silence will increase the nerves you may want to consider having it on. As a wheelchair user I get very frustrated with ignorant drivers parking on footpaths or blocking drop-down kerbs. This has now happened to me 4 times in just over a week 😡🤬
Your wheelchair doesn't need the entire footpath unless it's a narrow one.
@@portman8909 I am talking about narrow pavements, especially if a dropped kerb is blocked. Until I was in a wheelchair I wouldn’t have thought about this issue and unless you are speaking from experience, ie in a wheelchair, you don’t have any idea!
Poor guy, he looked somewhat humiliated by it all, perhaps he went into it feeling a little over confident. I can relate to that situation when I was learning at a similar age and I always took these things personally and to heart, as if to suggest I was a failure of some sort. But looking back, I was wrong in my thought process. Try not to do that and instead, DO take and welcome ALL constructive criticism you receive. Trust me, you will be all the better for it. Nobody is perfect and there's ALWAYS room for improvement.
I actually know Jude he’s one of my mates. And I did also pass on the 20th of January with 3 minors and watching these videos did really help, hope he can learn from his mistakes to be a better driver.
Thank you for watching the channel
I passed my test recently without any faults.
Your videos helped me a lot. Thank you very much.
Congratulations on passing your test
“I failed my theory”…“Cool” 😂
I think this kid was taught the proper way but I think he arrogantly thought he had it all figured out. He's not your typical nervous driver.
If his regular instructor is watching they must be either
- mortified that their instruction is so bad or
- furious that he's not been listening.
My first mock test 2mrw. Slightly bricking it.
Thanks Pin. You're a legend. My instructor says not to watch some of these driving videos but I feel I'm safe learning good habits on your channel.

Tbf it is one of those things that everyone does though. I mean, even in this video there are loads parked on the path. I just dont understand why his driving instructor would not tell him that it is wrong (atleast for his test)? Lol

Crazy to think that next month will be 1 year since I passed my driving test, still watch these videos now and again, and does bring back many memories of my lessons, feels so long ago now XD.
@Snippzz Tv tbh it has been over 6 months since I have watched these videos, it's only now that I remember this existed.
I'm forty,, first opportunity of having a life,, I go for my test tomorrow,, third try,, second try with experience 😂😂 my first attempt I had upset my instructor by going for my P,s behind her back,, the communication was mixed up I had got a bit ahead of myself ☺️😂 God be with me tomorrow 💕💕 my nerves with being critiqued are really bad but in saying that I'm gonna out on a brave face☺️💕💕💕✨🎀
As someone who hasn't driven for around 5 years (and don't really care for driving in built up areas at all) and a stong supporter of any project that makes less people dependent on cars(rail, public transport, walkable cities and decent Dutch style cycling infrastructure that actually connects places together in an independant network like roads do for cars) I would actually be most interested to see how I would get on in a test now..
I am in Scotland and love your vids. I have my test soon, I’m super nervous, but I’ve been driving for a year and have already cancelled twice as I am a pussy.
4:33 I don't know why this is so funny, the dry way he says it like the delivery driver should get a serious for walking in the road.

I did pass my driving test at long last on the 7th December 2023 at Mitcham in London
You should definitely put your seatbelt on before putting the car into gear
I put my seatbelt on before starting the car so you can't forget it after starting
@@chunkyrabbit1032 so do I but I feel like it’s not so bad if the car is on and not in gear etc. doing it whilst the car is in gear is literally so unsafe 😬
He made a lot of serious faults, but I feel that he is not a bad driver, as he often has fairly good awareness, even if he is hesitant to move off, but after 10-15 hours with a competent instructor, like the one I had, and 20-30 hours on the road with a family member, I think he could be ready to pass. Doing those big roundabouts and lane changes can be tough at the start. Still not sure why he parks on the pavement though, maybe it’s because everyone else does it!
