The majestic potential of this app is perfectly complimented by your keyboard skills. Always a pleasure and a terrific learning experience.
The sound of this new module is astoundingly good! Especially like the Radio piano, can't stop going back to it. :)
Thank you Doug! Im still on 7 and wouldnt have anything near the chops you showed here so I kind of ignored this... I was not expecting the quality of the instruments to be this good! Ive played VSTs from big companies that dont sound as sweet - and all in an iPad size package! Woah!
Thanks for doing this demo of the Korg Module. I'll be purchasing the app to run on my iPad Air 2 64GB before the introductory sale ends and was really hoping that someone would do a more in depth video than what's contained on the Korg website. I had a request and some questions for you. When you have a chance, could you please show us how to Save a customized Preset into the User bank? Which generation iPad are you running the app on? When playing lots of notes and using the sustain pedal, do you hear any obvious voice robbing i.e. voices cutting off? Is the app limited to landscape mode or will it also work in portrait mode? Thanks in advance if you have the time or inclination to respond to my post.
I'm a sucker for organs! I especially love the Hammond sound.
I love the pianos. They are very realístics. Amazing.
I love the way you play! Any tips on how to learn?
Hello friend. I have 88 M- Audio usb midi control. Do you know how to control the main volume of this program with my keyboard?
do you know if it's possible to use the korg module to record MIDI in garage band on iPad?
Do you know how to map controls to a MIDI device? I can't figure out how to; it's easy(ish) in Gadget, but I can't find it in Module. Thanks!
Great demo!
Just got Korg module looking for a forum in my CC learn page the CC numbers come up written overtop perameter and are unreadable...anyone?...help
The one dislike is jealous of Doug's skills... :/
Wow man KORG should write you a big fat cheque for such a great video. Thanks again!! *goes to buy the app*
I agree :-)
I spent some time last night trying to get Korg Module to accept Core Midi input from another app. I failed. While Module woud show up as a midi destination in the other app (like ThumbJam), I could not find a way to enable background audio for Korg Module. I sent an email to Korg support asking about Core Midi support (which is not mentioned in the Manual BTW).
Is there no way to play this with software keys like MF keyboard? It doesn‘t show as a Midi in device in audiobus? And is there ni 2d version of the keys like on the iPhone version?
Nice one FAther Christmas!
thanks for sharing!
How to connect to my ipad 4? I have the old midi connection? I already have the midi to usb? What do i need to buy
question: under the acoustic pianos - what is the demo song (phrase two)?
Are all these sounds part of the basic Korg Module (over 16 or so pianos - some layered with strings etc) or do I need to add expansion packs - another video on youtube suggested sounds could only be layered if you had Gadget installed as well?
Hi. Great video, thanks. I have a couple of questions. 1. Will the app allow to change number of pitchbend semi-tones? 2. Can you make the synths mono/poly? (For playing with leads). Thanks!
Can you layer sound and be able to control the strings if you midi/usb keyboard has knobs or faders
JacobRivard No you cant layer the sounds and I'm not sure if you can set it up with a midi controller
I bought this module and I'm not happy with it.
There are unbelieveable latency times, when I set them UNDER 256sec. I get only
noise and distorted stuff out of it...
How is it working with your iPad?
I use an iPad 2 and it works fine however I did have alot of problems getting it to work in gadget and had to use setting in gadget to remove from gadget and re import. Basically I had a corruption problem and everything was white noise.
I can run 256 OK on some sounds but it will depend on effect and other things but haven't had any latency issues . Also have to have some free storage space. not sure why as this is storage not RAM but if you run low it will give you grief. Getting rid of apps helps. Also aeroplane mode may help a little. Anything to deload the CPU.
Man you can play!
...KORG should give you that Kronos ;)
I'm not sure what it is but softsynths sound restrained when compared to their Physical keyboard cousins. it must be the DAC
if it’s connected to my ipad, will it still play music files or midi file via midi player? thanx for the soonest reply!
No, I don't think so
Can you layer sounds ?
No, you can’t layer sounds
Thanks for the video Doug. One question has your advice about upgrading to ios 8 changed since your video on the subject?
wul01 Tricky question, for me its fine but I'm not running stacks of stuff that still does not work inside Audiobus, lots of stuff does work though. Honestly I still don't think your going to gain much by updating yet unless you want Module badly enough. Of course more and more apps are going to only support iOS8, and the recently released Harpsichord app from Tempo Rubato does not run on any devise below an iPad Air 1 and an iPhone 5s
Can you add delay to the pianos
Yes, you can add any off the effects and then save that sound as a new preset
Cool thanks for the speedy reply
Did they send you a Kronos? :P
We got it Yousician...we got it!! Be a better piano player....got it.
Still no key up mechanical noises. Come on kong!
Hi. How much memory space does it take on your ipad?
1.2 gb complete
oh, that's a lot..
You must to pay for those pianos? Or is stock with the app?
This is an old video now, but the pianos demoed in this video come with the basic app, then if you want to buy more there are lots of in app purchases no, I have many many KORG Module videos on the channel
Thank YOU!
How is the poliphony on korg module? :)
Where do i purchase this Korg Module at?
Apple App store. Search for "Korg Module" they have 2 versions. The paid for full module and a a free "LE" version that let's you test 1 sound I think.
+David Price thank you.
I probably should have added getting the LE version is really worth it to make sure it works on your iPad/iphone if it is an older model (and yes it is now universal so don't get the one that says iPhone). You can mess with the latency settings and push it to 128 or even 64 and see how the module performs. If you run into trouble make sure you have a reasonable amount of free space, reduce the number of background apps and maybe flip the iPad to aeroplane mode if you are on an old device that is struggling.
The module will chew up about 1.2Gig of space and if you buy the add ons that will increase.
Also worth a note that at the moment the module ( in app purchases and gadget) are all 50% off till July 31st
If you use a DAW and add something like MusicIO or studioMux (from the app store) you can play midi from the DAW out to the module via the normal data cable and record the audio from the module into your DAW all at the same time (but I found there was a bit of messing around to get it to work).
Makes modules one of the cheapest high quality instruments you can pull into your DAW all with the normal apple charging/data cable. You do have to go to the app writer's website and get their extra download for the PC/Mac and also sometimes install a utility from yet another site (all listed in their install instructions). Not for the faint of heart.
Korg module or iGrand??
Definitely korg module. More options, and the piano sounds ain't that bad, and It's also newer software than the i grand which is out for a pretty long time.
At $40 it’s stupidly overpriced by market standards. It’s on sale @ $20 now, but I already have similar stuff I got elsewhere. It’s so expensive you’re kind of looking what sets it apart. There’s nothing unique about it or “sought after“ type of thing. I like the piano section, but you have to put that in perspective which is *its the most sampled/modeled instrument in the world*! If I was to buy it tough, that would be for pianos. The rest of the stuff, especially synth sounding ones are best suited for the actual synthesizer app where there’s more freedom to experiment. This thing should cost $15-$20 and I would buy it for $10 on sale.
Can you layer strings and piano sounds with this app!?
+Joshua Noriega No, you can't
but some of the presets do include pianos and strings already layered don't they?
Yes, some of the sounds are already layered
thank you
where can i buy the cable ?? nice video!

Great app. But make sure you have a ipad air or even better an ipad pro. These apps require a powerful cpu and good ram to run well. ipad 1,2,3, and even 4 may not handle this app.
Hmmm, do Apple have Korg in their pocket now? If they do, then Korg, be careful who you get in bed with.

Damn! I really HATE those piano sounds here. Too bad, KORG...
