    Great review! I love Gadget as well. Just got Module yesterday. Well worth the price, esp.with Wurley thrown in for free.Some years back I paid $30 for a couple of floppy disks with Stevie Wonder MIDI files on them that would load on my computer and play back via my Yamaha CS1X keyboard. Now, for the same money I got a superb sound module that is ultraportable and can play back those same files as well as doing a whole lot more!

    Yo, just a heads up. "Firenze" (Fir-En-ze) is how Italians say "Florence"...as in "Florence, Italy". It follows Gadget's city naming convention. I would not have known that either, but I was lucky enough to go to "Firenze" for work once. Sorry for the nerd-y comment. Keep up the good work!

    Hi. Great video. I have a question but don’t know how to explain it right that you can understand the question lol so how can play all the different piano sounds live? How did you record that? I just can choose one piano sound like for example cinema piano and click on audio recorder but I can’t switch from one sound to another and make a video of it. Sorry couldn’t explain it better. English so bad. Thanks for reply!!

    • @SoundsAndGear
      @SoundsAndGear  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'd switch sounds manually or via midi of supported by the app.

    Really nice demo -thanks. I'm struggling with Sample Tank 3 on Ipad Pro which now crashes due to the O/S upgrade. It also serves up distorted sound at inconvenient moments. Am going to go with the Korg Module I think.

    Looked at a number of reviews before I got to yours. Clean, Crisp and Concise; just what I needed and I downloaded the App on the strength of it. Great job fella. Now all I need to do is learn to play a piano (I have an iRig keys too). With the plethora of sounds it provides,how on Earth can 'Ivory' add to it?

      +George West Thanks for watching! Oh Ivory is great, really has it's own sound!

      +George West Oh I still don't really know how to play, still trying to learn myself. Each person is different and it just depends on how much time you put in as well as your own ability to pick up what you learn.

    They had a half price sale thru Jan 5, 2017, on ALL KORG apps! If you can use KORG Module sounds in the Gadget module, that should enable layering (??). Can it enable splits? But again, that (layering especially0, would require enough POLYPHONY! But Ive never gotten an explanation about that...

    • @SoundsAndGear
      @SoundsAndGear  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's been a while since I've used it, I don't recall if splits were possible or not.

  • @anthonyhamilton7778

    How much polyphony is possible? How many notes at once? I would think that depends on the iPad power... ???

      Yeah I think it depends on your ipad.

  • @anthonyhamilton7778
    @anthonyhamilton7778 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    My question is, can you use a charger while playing the module? I saw someone use a wireless midi connector leaving the lightening port open for a charger. . Is this possible? . All the support I have asked for says the CAMERA CONNECTION "KIT" (just a damn connector!), is necessary. Meaning you can only use the battery for iPad power - BIG problem on a gig!

    • @SoundsAndGear
      @SoundsAndGear  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have this "power bridge" think for the iRig devices that let you use a device and charge at the same time.

  • @gideonwaxfarb

    I didn't watch the whole thing to see if you mentioned it, but do you notice any latency on the acoustic pianos? I just purchased the Korg Module app over the weekend and there is a very SLIGHT latency on the iPad Air 2 via USB midi and the camera connection kit. It's not bad enough to be unplayable, but it's definitely noticeable.

    • @SoundsAndGear
      @SoundsAndGear  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't notice it, but you can go into the settings in iOS settings and change the latency if you need to. I'm connecting directly with 30 pin connector.

    • @SoundsAndGear

      El Juanote if you have an iPad Air 2 or newer, you can open and have many Apps running simultaneously with absolutely no noticeable latency issues or crackling of the sound. I have used the Air 2 in live performances for a couple of years with no issues what so ever. With an older iPad, you may be limited to only opening a couple of Apps at any one time. Any more than that and you may have issues with popping/crackling of the sound, because the processor is choking.

      Jack Douglas for all other keyboards you need the Apple Camera Connection Cable. You plug a standard USB cable into your keyboard plug the other end in to the CCC, then plug the CCC in to your iPad. To connect multiple keyboards you plug USB cables from each keyboard in to a powered USB hub. Then connect the output cable from the hub in to the CCC then in to the iPad.

    If music ever becomes purely a mobile ios thing, I'm going to quit. I can't even get my phone to send text messages half the time lol

      Hahahaha, luckily this doesn't rely on a mobile network, I look at it as just a different format than a laptop, with a touch screen. I love using my iPad as a module, I tend to pull it up more than vsts honestly. Just because of the touch interaction.

      I always have bad luck with phones. Never dropping them, i take care of my stuff well (musician after all) but the software always turns to crap on me in less than half a year, so I'm stuck with a lame phone that doesn't work. It's a verizon network lol. I use to think it was a network issue when i was on att and then straight talk (who shut my service off 10 days after I paid them for the month and never returned my money lol) and i gave up after that. This one I got now my mom forced me to take (i wouldn't buy one lol) so now I have an LG... that doesn't ****ing work again! (i feel like lewis black sometimes lol)
