    Finally, a good tutorial on the NS4! Had this complex beast for a few weeks now with no idea where to start making a worship patch. Thanks for saving me DSoundman, May God Bless you! ❤

      It is hard to find people who don't love the sound of their own voice for sure. Finding a good channel that is straight up info and cut to the chase rather than draw out the whole video for content 💯%

    Very good tutorial. Unfortunately there are almost no tutorials for the Nord Stage 4, especially for the synth engine. I think that might be the biggest challenge for most users. If possible, please provide a tutorial for programming synth sounds :-)

    Thank you for this video. A storm wiped out our Church building and provided an opportunity to upgrade. This video was such a helpful thing for the overwhelm of all of the bells and whistles that are on this amazing keyboard. It broke it up into bite sized chunks to get me through our first practice with it!

    Great overview and incredible keyboard but, still no built-in audio interface for $5600? I haven’t needed a separate audio interface for Yamaha, Roland and Korg keyboards (Motif/Montage, RD/Fantom, Kronos). It is 2024, correct?

    Thanks.

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They ended up removing the follow focus button, but I don’t really know why. I assume because it doesn’t really serve much of a purpose. I leave follow focus on all the time anyway!

    DSoundman, can you please direct me to one of your videos that discusses this - I know how to split my NS4, but I can't figure out how to use both parts live. More specifically: I'm trying to play piano (2 hands) over a background of strings or atmospheric sounds. I need to switch the chord of the background strings at the same time that I am playing piano with both hands, which is not possible. The only way I can see this working is if I create a backtrack for myself to play piano over. But then how do people accomplish this live? Is there a pedal that can switch the chord of the background sound, or ? If you could give me some direction on this, I would be so grateful.

    Great Video - I am really thankful !
    I like to splt a Piano-Sound in lower and upper keyboard. Then I want to work the sustain-pedal only on the upper part. How can I manage this ?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can enable/disable the sustain pedal on each piano layer, so if you split the two, you can disable the sustain on the lower part (shift + Layer A On/Off button - labeled "SUSTPED" underneath).

    Great Intro, Douglas!
    What specific make/model headphones are you wearing in this video tutorial?
    Secondly, what keyboard stand brand/models out there actually "secure" the Nord(s) to the stand so they won't fall
    off or wobble?
    Suppose you wanted to play on The Nord
    the synth entry sound to "Morning Girl" by The Neon Philharmonic, and that "sound effect wasn't available in the Library? How would you request that from The Nord Corporation? Thanks.

      1. I am using the AKG K92's right now: www.zzounds.com/a--518275/item--AKGK92?siid=183450 I love them and got them for vocal recording so I get less bleed-through of the click track due to them being closed-back.
      2. I'm not aware of one that actually attaches to the Nord, but I've used the On-Stage KS7350: www.zzounds.com/a--518275/item--MUPKS7350?siid=33655 for many years and have never had an issue with a keyboard wobbling of falling off...and I'm a hard piano player!
      3. I'm not aware of a way to request a sound from Nord themselves, but your could try reaching out to their support.

    I purchased stage 4 in Feb 2024 but I don't have "Follow focus" button on the keyboard. Are there two kinds of Stage 4?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's very interesting and I just looked at the pictures on Nord's website and they don't have them either. I have one of the first NS4's delivered to the united states and it looks like they eliminated the follow focus button. I'm not 100% sure, but it might have been a redundant control. In the buttons in the Follow Focus section, if all the lights are lit, it probably follows. Is there a way to set them so none are lit? Either that or they always have it follow focus as I'm not sure who would NOT want it to. Thanks for pointing that out!

    Hello! I wonder if you could possibly give me an advise if you are familiar with Novation 49SL MkIII controller. Someone gave me one, but I can't seem to turn it on. I connect it to the outlet, plug to the computer USB port and, I believe, it's suppose to light up even if I don't have the software. But nothing happens. Do you suppose the controller is bad? At one end of the controller I see an opening with an image of a lock next to it. There would not be any locking feature preventing it from turning on?
    I couldn't fine any info on the web and about to give up on it.
    Thanks!
