I honestly think that EA just made Sims 4 an "Alternate Timeline" because
A. They're too lazy to actually poke at each character
B. The inconsistencies from former games
C. They're trying to "start fresh"

@@graphic6605 In fairness, even though The Sims 3 was technically a prequel, they only included a few families initially and it was pretty sloppy. Most of the sims families that they carried over were from Sims 3 Store neighbourhoods. I don't really see TS4 as too different, they kind of messed everything up with TS3
The Sims 4 exists in an "alternate universe," separate from the timeline established in The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3. The alternate universe was created to allow the developers of The Sims 4 more creative control over the Sims and families that appear in the game.

Starting fresh would be lovely, but recycling old, widely loved names like Goth isn't 'fresh' as much it is a business move, a rather cynical in my opinion
I always played the Broke family...made the boys work hard at school and university to get Brandy out of that caravan.
I've always tried to do that, but by the time the boys graduated and get money , her mother was already dead :( (let's talk about sad stories)
I cheated and used mothetlode a couple times and gave them a nice house

if the sims 2 had the same features as the sims 3 (traits, character customization, moodlets, open world) it would be the perfect game imo
yess, the family stories in the sims 2 are absolutely perfect and to see that translated into a better make with more things to do would be wonderful.
This is what the Sims 5 should be, but EA won't listen.
EA should re-release the Sims 1, and 2. They will make alot of money because alot of People want to play them both. I'd say $30-40 is a good price range. Enough to generate profit, and cheap enough that people won't think they're being scammed.
And this is for the Game and all its Expansions.
The ideal sims 5 would have the graphics of 4, the customization and worldbuilding mechanics of 3, and the relationship mechanics, memories and lore of 2.

Bonus Easter Egg: There was a Dustin Broke added in the Sims 4 Get Famous as a townie that didn't live in world. Soooo in the alternate universe of TS4 the great Dustin is in fact a celebrity as an adult 😄 Good turn around for their name!
That Dustin in Sims 4 looks different (different eye colors and face), so it's neither him or a complete different alternative version that has nothing to do with the Sims 2 one.
@@ErenaaLamb same with Dirk Dreamer who's also in the sims 4 Get famous, i was playing him and realised he has green eyes while in sims 2 he has blue eyes.

As someone who literally grew up playing the Sims, back when a PC took 30 minutes to load downtown on Hot Date, and still playing it now ( at 29 years old)... I absolutely love these videos. I love how you explain everything, definitely Subbed.

I always felt so bad for the Broke family so I’d often find Brandi a rich husband (in the most recent case, she married Darren Dreamer just after he had his artistic breakthrough and was rich), Dustin turns around and goes to college, and Beau even became Mayor of Pleasantview. The Brokes are definitely some of my favorites, and have taken over my Pleasantview with all their children!

With "the baby isn't Skip's", there's also evidence in Brandi's memories - Skip died before Beau was born, so the new baby was conceived after he died. The game still recognises the new baby as Skip's, though 🤔

@@azugirl111 Except that if we go by Brandi's memories, she was pregnant with Beau (the second child) when Skip died. She couldn't have become pregnant with a third child of Skip's if he died while she was pregnant with their second child.

Octavia Broke could be the Sims 4 celebrity Octavia Moon, Thorne‘s wife. She looks a bit like it and it would be a great twist that one of the Broke’s family actually made it and got rich and famous. Except from the fact that she’s an alcoholic she somehow proofed that you can change your destiny! :D

The Sims 4 is set in an alternate universe, so it's not the same character, really :)

I knew I recognised that name from somewhere when I saw him in Sims 4.
It's also not the same sims. They look different, you can look up the Sims Wikia for information on that.

The Sims 2 is my favorite era of The Sims series, and so as a suggestion I’d like to see you cover the Summerdream family. They’ve always been...interesting? Kinda weird. The Capps & Monty families would be a funny bit, too!

In my game, Judith Ward married Don Lothario and my sims family has a cat named Mayor Whiskers. Mayor Whiskers wears a top hat and bow tie. Random sims are walking around pregnant. It's beyond wild at Caillou's house.
Edit: this wasn't clear before but the marriages/pregnancies are not my doing, it's one of my mods (potentially Slice of Life?)
Your game seems quite more normal than mine. Katrina, Clara, and Nancy murdering people. Those people are haunting my place. Geoffrey is pissed at my Sim because she is sleeping around with Nancy. Not my fault Nancy killed your ass. Yeah. It is getting quite out of hand.
Now. If you have MCCC you can stop the random sims becoming pregnant.
Kiki Pumpkins my game is way weirder
I moved Evie Delgato and Don Lothario into a huge hole using the terrain tools cuz I hated them. Then, I was seeing who died first. Evie did. After the Grim Reaper came, I made him marry Don and they had a child together. Since I have extreme violence and I didn’t turn off autonomous killing, I saw their daughter stabbing a random person in San Myshuno. Also the Grim Reaper twerks for money on the streets and is a style influencer. Every once in awhile, Don laughs at Evies grave and summons her to torment her. My iPad is gonna die so I’m gonna leave this here bai

I somehow never noticed this family when playing sims 2, I learned about them through TH-cam. But I love the characters and their traits/story, so I added them to my personal save file. I think Brandi is my favourite.

It's not confirmed to be the same Sims, so she didn't really forget it. That Dustin looks different, so either way it's another universe anyway or just not to be meant to be related to the original Broke family.
Wow, thank you for these videos!! I've been playing The Sims since the beginning as well, and it's crazy to hear all of the detailed stories about the families. The storytelling aspect in The Sims 2 was outstanding, I wish EA would bring that back to The Sims 4.

Not quite familiar with English spelling as a child, I used to pronounce "Beau" as "Beh-ah-ooh," well, me and my two sisters.
I haven't played much with them since they were my older sister's main family. We would all play in the same neighbourhood, so we each had our favourite family in each neighbourhood.
The whole pool accident and theory of Brandy being the killer is actually a plotline in The Sims 2 for psp. You have a mission to talk to a sim named Hazel and see if she's guilty of killing her husband which I think you find pieces of his clothes in the pool drain or something. I can't remember since it's been so long since I played it. I think we do find out she did

Yeah I loved playing with the brokes but I think the mom which is called babsi in the German version was my favorite out of them. Looking forward to the Caliente family because it is the family I've played with the most!

I was playing on a computer running Windows XP at the time and I would go into every one of my family members computer account so I could play Sims 4, specifically so I could replay the Broke family again from the beginning without losing my regular Broke family on my account. Looking back it’s such a weird thing to do but I was just a very Sims obsessed 10 year old.

I used the boolprop cheat to give Dustin max skills so he could afford college and sent him off. Angela didn't go with him but he is engaged to a random from the dorm. When he finished college, he'll get married, move the entire family to a better home and provide for his brothers and mother
