Bob is the BEST DAD! I had a game where I played as someone who had a kid with everyone in the town and killed the other parent (yes it’s sadistic but it’s the Sims), and the first one was Bob. Even when he was dead he would come back as a ghost to take care of his daughter. Best Dad!

Tbh, Bob reminds me of Adam Sandler in a sense. Adam Sandler is worth millions of dollars, yet he dresses like he gets his clothes from Walmart. 😂 Meanwhile, Eliza reminds me of a gold digger. Or at least someone who wants a lavish lifestyle but can't afford it. 😂
I added toddler twins and then played a bit with them. In my story they ended up breaking up, Eliza got together with Caleb (vampires) and became a vampire. They now have two daughters. They also have 2 cats! Bob got together with Eva (get together) and they just had their second daughter too. The twins live with their dad and are teens now. I switch between both households to progress the story. I also affected some traits slightly during character development . Like Bob now is less gloomy.
for me, I don't like Eliza. she gave me a bad impression I'll remember it forever lol. I was a noob at sims for was playing just base game. and I was trying to get a bae for my sim and I didn't know who was married, so I tried hooking my sim with another and Eliza got mad at my sim. lol It might have been Bob. but again it's been a few years since I went to the juice bar in the game in I think willow creek if I'm not mistaken. so in the game, they had an average relationship, but not storyline wise.
I dunno bout you but the clothes they had was weird. Dunno why Maxis chose that. Also I like beard where he has the the Sideburns and the chin. Looks pretty cool for him.
My husband and I have separate rooms. We have different sleeping patterns and like our own space, it made our relationship better. Sleep is important 😂
My husband and I prefer to sleep in different rooms too. I toss and turn and grind my teeth, he snores. And since we're both light sleepers that makes it hard to get a good night's rest if we share a bed.

I spoke to Eliza during the "welcome wagon". I was living in windenburg. She turned up at my door every day after that, she'd also call lots at ridiculous times which might just be autogenerated. She then started just letting herself in and her mood let was always sad. There was a lot of love related thought bubbles during their conversation and I hadn't enforced that.
Anytime I start a new game, I give Bob a better life. I make him smexy Mr. Flapjacks. A few motherlodes and raising the muscular slider. Max out his skills with mcc. I love his face.

I don't think either of them are bad. Going off of the description, the house built by EA, and good points mentioned in this video, this is my analysis. They both desparately want different things. Eliza wants the best but she doesnt work for it. Bob wants to make her happy, but he has a dream. Him working towards that is not satisfying what she wants out of the relationship. Him working hard regardless of her lack of acknowledgment led him to become unmotivated. He started getting lazy because there was no point in trying if nothing was working. They moved into separate rooms. Eliza wanted to turn him back into the right direction so she put an exercise machine in his room. They started working on their relationship and being mature about it. (Hence the friend and romance levels) (also me making an excuse for EA so the story in my head makes sense...) (I think this is where we come into their story. They are still not happy but we can see the steps that have been taken to making things better.) Then, finally, in one last desparate attenpt to save their marraige, they have a child together. They end up happier than before, but it is still a flawed relationship.
My theory about the bedrooms is that Bob's weird plain bedroom used to be the study/fitness/storage room, but Eliza kicked Bob out of their bedroom, so that's why he's sleeping there and why it's so mismatched, and also why the fitness machine is there.
I think both Bob and Eliza are good people. They got their flaws, what with Bob being a slob and Eliza being a stalker. I just think they need to split and date other people. I don't even know how they became a couple, tbh.
I like Eliza. Bob was obsessed with one of my sims and wouldnt stop calling and coming over to eat all his left overs :/ I liked ur theory about Eliza wanting Bob to work out/lose weight. I always took it as Eliza had the exercise machine in the spare room and Bob just moved into it once things started going south in the relationship 🤷🏻♀️

i feel weird I think that Eliza didn’t want bob to sleep with her and you can see in the game that Eliza’s room is so big and girly and bobs room is small compared to the Eliza’s room. Also I think Eliza gave bob the machine so he could lose weight. Bob eats in you house sims because he doesn’t want to eat in front of Eliza and he is always at your house because Eliza abuses him. That’s my guess

My headcanon: Eliza fell in love with Bob when she heard his dreams and ambitions regarding the cooking career. As her traits alaign, she lives trough Bob. Or she just wanted. As she married him, she saw his "gloomy and not so ambitious" lifestyle. The marriage wend down hill, but they stick togheter for who knows what reason: for the kid, for the hope of Bob becoming someone or changeing him to be the perfect cook (alas the controling Eliza part). I would think that she bought the fitness machine for Bob to shape up.
Theory on how the Pancakes got their house and furniture... When you have Bob kill Eliza he gets an achievement as a Black Widow which means he has had five spouses die...Bob is really a serial killer. He marries rich and then kills his wives.

No you are not alone. Even in sims 2 i did the same as you. I know so very little about the premades in sims 2 even i played it for 10 years. Here in sims 4 i hardly ever play as the premades except for a few. I delete a lot of them but there are some i let stay in my savefiles and it is not always the same i take out.
I always imagine Bob & Eliza were probably high school sweethearts? It's general easier to have an opposites attract relationship in school, because even if you have nothing else in common, you high school and everything related to it in common. I imagine they're one of those couples that rushed to get married and get a place as fresh out of school as they could manage, and after all the planning and events and honeymooning was over, realized they didn't have anything to talk about anymore. They probably had these big dreams of Bob instantly taking off as a famous chef and Eliza being the charming socialite wife who throws extravagant lunch parties and reality just hit them hard.

My sim used to live in a bar... Bob Pancakes would always come by and joke and chat with her, he was just a friendly, good-natured guy. She moved in with ghost boyfriend after getting tired of the bar scene, but to this day their still good friends. Bob Pancakes always puts a smile on my face, I think that though he may be lazy and average, he is really just a sweetheart deep down. I think that is why Bob and Eliza are still together. At the end of the day, he just wants to make it work somehow. I've never really been one to get attached to families that come with the game, but I just love Bob. He is so relatable...there is a little Bob Pancakes in all of us, you know... #TeamBob

I think that Bob should have a twin brother named Braiden that randomly moves in with the Pancakes. When he arrives, Eliza and Bob have just started couples counseling so they are woohooing again. But Braiden is much more attractive than Bob and Eliza starts an affair. Eliza falls pregnant and doesn't know whose the baby is. That's my idea for making the Pancakes interesting :)
My guess of how they got the house is that Eliza's parents are like hella rich and may have given her a large inheritance, or even a large trust fund - Not to mention it would also explain her traits
I really feel sorry for Bob. I think that maybe he is just the way he is (boring, sloppy, doesn’t seem to have a lot of interests) because Eliza is a lot to handle and probably is always pushing him around to do whatever to get this “perfect life”, so much that he now just has kind of lost who he is trying to be what she wants him to be. wow that was so deep

I have a game where I added a teenage son to their family and it seemed to really liven things up. Both Eliza, and Bob immediately started building up relationship with the new addition and before 2 days had incredibly high relationship bars. As a result of adding in another sim it kind of made it so they had to share a room again, and it wasn't long before they started building up their romance as well. By the time the son moved out and got engaged to one of my sims his parents visited almost daily all the way into their golden years, and it was really sweet.
Lmao. I redid them and was gonna split them up (again, I always do)...but then I made him work out and get super hot and then she wanted him back. Ive played them a few times, different ways. And I never hated Eliza, but then I didnt see her stalking or anything like that..

I'm so mad there aren't more of these videos already. I started watching at Bella's and now am hooked! Thank you for the content! I look forward to it every so often! I am a Bob lover. Bob can't change who he is, but he still pushes through. I like to think that Eliza fell in love with Bob because of his dreams and talent. She knows that he is going somewhere and has put faith in him. But they're at a rough point in their relationship now because Eliza isn't doing anything. Bob resents her for not working toward a dream. Plus Eliza drags him everywhere, ugh. So that's why having Iggy works, it gave Eliza a job and Bob a son so now they're thankful for each other. Sorry I rambled.
I love these videos! Everytime I play with the Pancakes I separatw them and Eliza marries the other cook that lives in Sanmishuno with his mom - maybe she has a thing for chefs... And Bob I move him to the city to have his restaurant dream....
Great job on these as always! I honestly never paid much attention to the Pancakes in my games, but it was interesting to learn a bit more about them 😊 I'd love to see one of these about the Caliente sisters as well, they've always been favorites of mine!
Of course we all relate to Bob, we spent a great amount of time playing with virtual characters in our fake little worlds to avoid the real world. Bob is a simmer after all
My sims are neighbours to the Pankcakes so their son is around at my sims' house all the time since the kids are friends. Bob usually comes around sometimes too and plays video games with my sims' dad. I never really see Eliza unless she is invited to a party (which I really only invite her to because I have invited Bob and their son).
I love Bob!! he is my favourite sim in sims 4. I got him out of that damn house, he married my sim Emma and they had four beautiful daughters. I think I played about a year and a half with that family. (still playing from time to time) also made Bob a brother - Jim, who has his own little family, so the Pancake familly is "massive" in my main save file (daughters also married to townies: Johnny Zest, Alexander Goth and Malcolm Ladgraab) and he wasn't boring to play with at all :D funny thing is, since he is a masterchef he cooked am lot of food and there is still food cooked by him on some community lots, in Selvadorada and his home of course, even though he's been dead for a couple years now... I also kind of like Eliza. I played with her for a while too. She addopted a daughter and became a doctor. She was way more happy without Bob.

I think both Bob and Eliza are good people. They got their flaws, what with Bob being a slob and Eliza being a stalker. I just think they need to split and date other people. I don't even know how they became a couple, tbh.

i feel weird I think that Eliza didn’t want bob to sleep with her and you can see in the game that Eliza’s room is so big and girly and bobs room is small compared to the Eliza’s room. Also I think Eliza gave bob the machine so he could lose weight. Bob eats in you house sims because he doesn’t want to eat in front of Eliza and he is always at your house because Eliza abuses him. That’s my guess
I know this comment is old but I just bought the sims maybe a week ago and I honestly don’t know where bob came from but his friendship meter was maxed out with my sims😂he would call in the middle of the night and everything! Now that they’re dead I don’t see him at all anymore
My headcanon: Eliza fell in love with Bob when she heard his dreams and ambitions regarding the cooking career. As her traits alaign, she lives trough Bob. Or she just wanted. As she married him, she saw his "gloomy and not so ambitious" lifestyle. The marriage wend down hill, but they stick togheter for who knows what reason: for the kid, for the hope of Bob becoming someone or changeing him to be the perfect cook (alas the controling Eliza part). I would think that she bought the fitness machine for Bob to shape up.

When you have Bob kill Eliza he gets an achievement as a Black Widow which means he has had five spouses die...Bob is really a serial killer. He marries rich and then kills his wives.

No you are not alone. Even in sims 2 i did the same as you. I know so very little about the premades in sims 2 even i played it for 10 years. Here in sims 4 i hardly ever play as the premades except for a few. I delete a lot of them but there are some i let stay in my savefiles and it is not always the same i take out.
I also wanna see all the Simmers “Fixing The Pancakes” like a challenge, fix their image, their home, their social lives, their marriage.

I always imagine Bob & Eliza were probably high school sweethearts? It's general easier to have an opposites attract relationship in school, because even if you have nothing else in common, you high school and everything related to it in common. I imagine they're one of those couples that rushed to get married and get a place as fresh out of school as they could manage, and after all the planning and events and honeymooning was over, realized they didn't have anything to talk about anymore. They probably had these big dreams of Bob instantly taking off as a famous chef and Eliza being the charming socialite wife who throws extravagant lunch parties and reality just hit them hard.

I love Bob Pancakes. Literally been playing a save where he's the ultimate sim and maxes all skills and gets all aspirations and such
I actually believe in Sims 4 Bob is heavily depressed and Eliza is the one who is the toxic partner.
My sim used to live in a bar... Bob Pancakes would always come by and joke and chat with her, he was just a friendly, good-natured guy. She moved in with ghost boyfriend after getting tired of the bar scene, but to this day their still good friends. Bob Pancakes always puts a smile on my face, I think that though he may be lazy and average, he is really just a sweetheart deep down. I think that is why Bob and Eliza are still together. At the end of the day, he just wants to make it work somehow.
I've never really been one to get attached to families that come with the game, but I just love Bob. He is so relatable...there is a little Bob Pancakes in all of us, you know...

I think that Bob should have a twin brother named Braiden that randomly moves in with the Pancakes. When he arrives, Eliza and Bob have just started couples counseling so they are woohooing again. But Braiden is much more attractive than Bob and Eliza starts an affair. Eliza falls pregnant and doesn't know whose the baby is. That's my idea for making the Pancakes interesting :)

My guess of how they got the house is that Eliza's parents are like hella rich and may have given her a large inheritance, or even a large trust fund - Not to mention it would also explain her traits
I really feel sorry for Bob. I think that maybe he is just the way he is (boring, sloppy, doesn’t seem to have a lot of interests) because Eliza is a lot to handle and probably is always pushing him around to do whatever to get this “perfect life”, so much that he now just has kind of lost who he is trying to be what she wants him to be. wow that was so deep

I have a game where I added a teenage son to their family and it seemed to really liven things up. Both Eliza, and Bob immediately started building up relationship with the new addition and before 2 days had incredibly high relationship bars.
As a result of adding in another sim it kind of made it so they had to share a room again, and it wasn't long before they started building up their romance as well. By the time the son moved out and got engaged to one of my sims his parents visited almost daily all the way into their golden years, and it was really sweet.

Lmao. I redid them and was gonna split them up (again, I always do)...but then I made him work out and get super hot and then she wanted him back. Ive played them a few times, different ways. And I never hated Eliza, but then I didnt see her stalking or anything

My Sim and Bob gets along very well; her and Eliza though- whenever they meet, they fight 😂😂

I am a Bob lover. Bob can't change who he is, but he still pushes through. I like to think that Eliza fell in love with Bob because of his dreams and talent. She knows that he is going somewhere and has put faith in him. But they're at a rough point in their relationship now because Eliza isn't doing anything. Bob resents her for not working toward a dream. Plus Eliza drags him everywhere, ugh. So that's why having Iggy works, it gave Eliza a job and Bob a son so now they're thankful for each other. Sorry I rambled.
I love these videos! Everytime I play with the Pancakes I separatw them and Eliza marries the other cook that lives in Sanmishuno with his mom - maybe she has a thing for chefs... And Bob I move him to the city to have his restaurant dream....
Great job on these as always! I honestly never paid much attention to the Pancakes in my games, but it was interesting to learn a bit more about them 😊 I'd love to see one of these about the Caliente sisters as well, they've always been favorites of mine!

My sims are neighbours to the Pankcakes so their son is around at my sims' house all the time since the kids are friends. Bob usually comes around sometimes too and plays video games with my sims' dad. I never really see Eliza unless she is invited to a party (which I really only invite her to because I have invited Bob and their son).
Also I wasnt paying too much attention to the video, just the audio. I look up and make myself jump by the head in the background

I love Bob!! he is my favourite sim in sims 4. I got him out of that damn house, he married my sim Emma and they had four beautiful daughters. I think I played about a year and a half with that family. (still playing from time to time) also made Bob a brother - Jim, who has his own little family, so the Pancake familly is "massive" in my main save file (daughters also married to townies: Johnny Zest, Alexander Goth and Malcolm Ladgraab) and he wasn't boring to play with at all :D funny thing is, since he is a masterchef he cooked am lot of food and there is still food cooked by him on some community lots, in Selvadorada and his home of course, even though he's been dead for a couple years now...
I also kind of like Eliza. I played with her for a while too. She addopted a daughter and became a doctor. She was way more happy without Bob.

Omg I wish I had seen this sooner! Your grandma’s boomer comment made me laugh so hard. My parents were able to buy a house on a combined salary of $200/week which is equal to $1266/week now. It was much easier to afford a house, a car, and family because boomers didn’t have extra expenses like education and healthcare. Lots more was covered by the government in the USA back then and I bet in the UK it’s a similar story. 🤣
