    Yoshi has a second rage art thats a powered up version of his flash. The combo scaling stays at 70% for every subsequent attack.
    To punish youre going to want to wait out his "stance" and launch him soon after

    Nice video on rage but I want to correct something, you can actually ws launch chloe's ra but you'll have to time your ws launch. If you do it too fast you'll only float her

    • @PeterYMao

      Ahhh, cool thanks Pashaportino. I usually just go for a float on her as the timing especially online can be a little finicky.

    Hi Peter, great video as always. I think I've nearly seen every bit of content you've produced now after stumbling upon your channel when I was trying to pick up Bryan. Invaluable information, and I feel like I really understand the design philosophy of Bryan now which I really loved learning about.
    Anyway, just wanted to add my two penneth on a couple of points here: you use Rage Art in your video as a combo ender and you do see a disparity, sure. However, that damage is of course scaled. If you'd gone for the RA and hit raw without a preceding combo the damage difference is actually huge. It's something like 58 damage when activated at 44 health, right up to around the 80 mark at pixel health.
    I also wanted to mention another use for the RA that I tend to use it as myself: as a whiff punish with insurance. But what I mean by insurance is, you can wait for your opponent to push a button then go for it - and if they have committed to a second hit or string you're insulated against that hit as well. In other words you're 'insured' against getting counter-hit or otherwise stuffed out by a follow-up.
    Finally, I feel obligated to defend my main's honour here so a last thing about Gigas' Rage Art: As a rule RAs have good range and many of them crush high or low. In Gigas' case, his crushes low and also has an odd hitbox at the end so some attacks will miss because he is squatting down. Thus it can allow him to jump right over the low that could have killed him, and if the opponent goes high afterward then it might give him a chance to recover in time.
    Anyway thanks as always, I can't want to watch more of your content and I'm already subscribed.

      Crimson Final. Thank you for the kind words. It really means a lot to me!
      You are very much so correct on the Rage Art scaling. There is a huge amount of scaling when used at the end of a combo. I think the developer intended this to be the case so that we would not abuse it for purposes of insane combo damage. Also, I would not necessarily use rage art to whiff punish things (depending on the character's rage art). Fast rage arts yes you can definitely use it to whiff punish. However the slower rage arts that start up in 20 frames and above are not particularly good for whiff punishing since on block they can be devastating. You are better off using whatever launcher your character has.
      And thank you! Thank you for enlightening me about Giga's rage art. :)

    Very good video. Thank you for doing all of these tests, I am sure it took quite a while.
    Although not important, it would be interesting to compare the damage of rageart when performed at 1 or 44 hp compared to a full HP rageart (after you heal to full hp).

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not 100% important because in an actual match you don't know if the opponent has 25hp or 27hp vs 30hp. It's incredibly hard. Also you don't know if you have 130hp or 132hp. There are no numbers for health so impossible to know, and practically use it.

    Important note about Geese: He has TWO rage arts! One of them is the unblockable high, the other is a regular mid.
    How to tell the difference? If he points at you then you duck, if he crosses his arms then you block.

    So am I correct to assume that you can punish Gigas's, Noctis's & Jack's RAs with Bryan's orbital heel? 🤔🤔

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose you could, but orbital isn't suggested again Jack's RA. I would suggest f+4,1.

    Great info as always. (That must've taken a lot of patience to do all those fireballs!)
    The significance of some rage arts being 13 frames fast is that they can be used as punishers.
    It may also be worth noting that some rage arts also crush lows during parts of their start-up, Armor King & Lei are examples of this.
    Lucky Chloe's rage art is the only rage art that hits low. You can punish it with generic WS launchers if you delay slightly.
    Some rage drives, like Paul's & Feng's, when _blocked_ at the wall do 5 damage and leave them at +9 frames for mix-ups.

    2:35 Why you didn't just do 1-2 combo (count the damage in the practice mode) and then some fireblock?

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1) I would have to explain the combo I did and how much damage it did, then detail out how many fireballs I did.
      2) There is neutral guarding in Tekken so when you record yourself trying to do a combo against a non existing player you would have to hold forward while also doing the combo, this requires 3 hands which I don't have.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can only duck under the 2nd hit of it. You can not duck under the first hit. I did not mention any specific RD because that would take a well over 20 minutes to do with something like 40+ characters. Instead for Rage Drives I went for a more general approach.

  • @zuzubaloo
    @zuzubaloo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Paul's rage art cancel? Probably the most unique RA in the game!

    • @mabdullahsari
      @mabdullahsari 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah and the most broken at the same time I'd say.

    • @EternalSilverDragon
      @EternalSilverDragon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lucky Chloe's RA can also do more damage, as demonstrated in her sample combo. I think Tekken 7 would be a bit more interesting if more rage arts were like these. Even though those two are unique in the amount of damage they can do, it doesn't make a difference to how you defend against them.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah... Lucky Chloe's RA I think is unique to her because they wanted to make it so she had some rhythm game element to her. Wouldn't fit to everyone's RA.

    • @EternalSilverDragon
      @EternalSilverDragon 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterYMao Yes, I completely agree with the rhythm thing - it's a nice way to make her RA fit her as a character. And while that particular thing wouldn't fit everyone, I just mean that more variety in general would help keep things interesting, especially with a game mechanic where almost all characters fit broadly into one of just two types.
