    The best homing move I like to use for side stepping fucks is 1+2, comes out kind of quick and has the follow up counter hit launcher. I'm talking about my 1 and only Bryan.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. 1+2 is very good as a homing attack especially because there is an element of an mind game to it.

    When watching all these examples of the pros & cons of each moves u can clearly see just how balance the game is. Ed Boon should take notes for MK & Injustice.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well... there are balanced things and imbalanced things in Tekken. No game is perfect, but I think MK and Injustice are definitely far less balanced than Tekken.

    Hello peter, thank you for you tutorial videos. As a new player to fighting games you have really developed my understanding and consistency of the fundamental principles of Tekken/fighting games. I want to ask you: I notice while playing that I struggle with knowing exactly when my recovery frames are over so that I can begin my attack. For example, I notice that sometimes if an opponent hits me with a move that’s -6 on block I will still sometimes lose to a 15 frame launching move even if I’m only trying to jab after block. The only reason I could think this is happening is because I’m not starting my jab at the first possible moment available. Or that I hit the button during the recovery frame so nothing happens. Is there any way to get better at this?
    Another example is at the start of rounds, my jab or even the duck jab will lose to a mid launcher.

    After 1 month of spamming ranked and over 300 wins I just hit Brawler for the first time! I've also been learning to hit the harder combos and recently just did the triple knee combo in practice mode. The ws1 into ws3,4 I can do online while the JU ws3,4 is a 50-50 even in practice mode. Any tips on the magic 4 follow ups? I always whiff them. I cant wait for my internet to stabilize so I can incorporate this and the sidestep tips in my game.

    • @PeterYMao
      @PeterYMao  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Wit. What you are asking is mostly just something that comes down to practice. As a recommendation for now... I would say if you are in Brawler then these combos are not the way to go at least for the time being. There are some fundamental things to work on other than combos. You could spend literally 10 hours working on getting a combo down to squeeze out 10 extra damage. Or you could spend 10 hours working on fundamentals and improving on things like maximizing your whiff punishes, reactions to blocking seeable lows, or learning strings in the game. But if you are intent on learning the harder combos then honestly, it boils down to just practice practice practice.

      @@PeterYMao im just slowly trying to get the muscle memory for the combos to the point where i can use them online. i still stick to bnb when playing online and as you said in your matchup analysis try to at least punish with 1,4 or 2,3 unless i know a specific punish. I tend to lose more than win trying to play honest tekken around a bunch of spammers, spamming punishable moves i dont recognize and getting countered pressing buttons when i shouldnt (especially those that force crouch!!). Next stop for me is side steps. Thanks for replying to my comments man. very encouraging

      Wit for your last comment, no one is fair when someone wants to win, if a Bryan sees you're not blocking down on his snake edge, get ready to receive tons of snake edges until they're blocked, same goes for you, it's about analyzing your opponent.

    • @bludika
      @bludika 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      peace of advice, since you're a brawler, I'm in the TTG-TGP ranks with bryan on ps4, and even i don't do ws34 combos online, it's kind of not worth dropping it because you whiff the b24 entirely. Instead of focusing on difficult combos, i say focus more on fundamentals, because at your brawler rank, you WILL have a lot of opportunities to launch your opponents because they lack defense, punishing ability and tend to button mash, but once you start encountering better opponents, you will rarely have any chances to launch them, and all this time, since you've been practicing those harder combos and not the fundamentals, you will plateau and be stuck in your ranks.
      Btw, the 2nd best, reliable combo for ws1 that i do is ws1, JU, b214, then b3 combo finisher, and for JU, i do FF4, B3-f, to Up, then 1 jab, then b3-F, 2,1. I CAN do ws34 combos after JU, but is it really worth dropping the combo when at higher levels, you will RARELY land a clean JU unless it's for block punishing, and it's too short range of a move to whiff punish. Bryan's combos do a lot of damage and it's satisfying to land the harder combos but if you practice those more than fundamentals like movement, defense, punishment, and frame knowledge, playing Bryan will be extremely difficult even at like Fujin ranks.
      Good luck, not trying to promote my page on here, but you can see my online matches on my channel for my gameplay.
