We have three PT111 PRO's. I taught my daughter to put the front dot/sight on what they want to hit and that seems to work. My Beretta APX and shotguns work the same way: put the dot on what you want to hit! In other words this is not Bullseye target competition, it's combat shooting. Good luck. Oh, and I have a PT145 as well, same thing. I sold my Glock G30 and kept the PT145. The G30 did shoot a slightly smaller group, but the PT145 had better ergos, slightly smaller OA, lighter, and has a real safety that keeps the gun from firing while holstering, unlike the Glocks (although I have some of them as well).
Cool. I'll certainly have to do some re-adjusting on my sight picture. Once I get to shoot it on paper I'll start with that technique. Much appreciated. I do like the gun. It is a great small framed 45 acp.
A 230 grain bullet out of 3" barrel hitting low is no surprise to me; however, these PT145 Mil Pros do hit low regardless of ammo. I swapped the entire slide assembly and found the gun was much more spot on with a different barrel. It appears to me that the machining between the receiver and the slide forces the muzzle down thus the low POI. Not very good quality/manufacturing but with the new barrel, I can put all 11 rounds into a torso sized target at 50 feet which is MY accuracy requirement. There's something comforting knowing you have 11 rounds of big bore knock down power when and if you ever need it. I won't part with my '145.
Thanks for the information. That is very intriguing. I think that is my main reason for liking this small 45 acp so much is that you have all the rounds and the big heavy ammo all in a small package. You wouldn't happen to recall where you got the new slide and barrel from would you? If it was commercial aftermarket items, then I may be interested in making some changes like that myself. Also, the 50 yard torso test is a great standard IMO. I know that stats say majority of self defense is at really close range, but I want to be sure I can hit my target further out as well too. Thanks again.
Just came across your question. I found a parts kit on Gunbroker. I have acquired other subcompact 45's but still carry this hand cannon. I have yet to find a 6" OAL,10+1 package in 45ACP like this PT145.
Hey Cervus, don't feel bad, I had a PT111 9mm and I missed more than I hit with it too. After that the magazine would fall out about every other round. I finally gave it away to my son who traded it for a crossbow lol. I hit more with the crossbow than I did the gun lol. Take care Buddy!
I'm glad to hear that it went to a good cause. If I can't adjust the sights on this one it will likely end up as a trade too. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that it is a compact .45acp that holds 10 rounds, but man I got to know I can hit what I aim at.
Man, I hate having days like that but it happens. I suspect the front sight is too tall (or the rear too short) as most of your hits looked to be just under the plate. Most "duty" guns are regulated for a 6 o'clock hold at 25 yards, this one appears to be set for a 12 o'clock hold. Is it possible your step-father changed the sights?
Very well could have. I have the original case and paper work that it came in, but he always did stuff like that. My Ruger PC9 is missing the rear sight where he took it off because the bell on his scope was hitting it. He looked for the sight but could not find it and now he would not even understand what I would be asking him in relation to these items. I need to see if that rear sight has an adjustment on it. If so I may be able to tweak it at bit.
I need to break this one out again and see where it prints on paper at 7 - 10 - 15 yards. I may end up doing as you and getting rid of it. I just got a Glock 29 in 10mm that can replace this one. Thanks for sharing.
@@cervus-venator That thing has a very short barrel, if my eyes don't play games on me. I have two PT-111's...A 9mm and a 40 Smith. Totally reliable, I only bought, after watching one of the two most recognized experts on utube channels, after he did a review. Since then, the only bad I've ever heard about any later gen Taurus, was Glockboi hate. Shorten up that 20 Cervus, give the thing a chance, and it'll be ok... Shout out to Randle!
You're right this is a great concealed carry gun for self protection. It is small enough to conceal, but being a 45 this thing will pack a punch when needed.
Not a range gun ! Most pistols are for self defense. This firearm did what it was supposed to. It went bang !! a small target is not a full body to hit in protection . We are all led to believe every gun needs to be a range gun and it's BS . Shoot what feels comfortable and point and aim with yer good eye 👀
Not sure why I put "Richard" in there. I must have been really tired. I've been getting up at 5:00AM the past few days hunting. Sleeping in tomorrow and taking a break. Anyway Hello Randle!!!

You scared the heck out of that plate!
I saw it quivering!!!

Cervus great video be safe and GOD BLESS y’all Amen 🙏
Thank you! You too!
I m like that with xd 9mm. After about 3 years sold it. As far as carry… aim still works but as a range gun….

Mine shoots good at gunfight range .
Some of my guns are not sight accurate.
If it shoots low aim high if it shoots left aim right .
Yes sir that is what I say too. Good advice. Thanks for stopping by.
Hope taurus makes this 45 in their G series
They make the Taurus PT 24/7-G2 45 ACP Compact 3.5" Barrel 12+1 and it appears to be affordable too if you find one.
Same with my PT146 PRO hits low
I tested it again the other day against two other 45acp pistols and yes, it is certainly hitting low.
I have 3 Taurus pistols one millennium two in 9mm one in 380.
I bet they shoot better for you than this one does for me.

I'm certainly going to give it a try. Thanks.
I got that if i wanna carry conceal gun with me i got to protect myself

It must be you.
Would love to see you try it Darrel

I agree it certainly is not a range gun. Thanks!!
I have this one you dont aim it like most sights you have to line the sides and top not the dots. If not it will shoot low.
Thanks Eric, I'll certainly give that a try. I love the gun, I hope with your tip I'll be able to shoot it. Very much appreciated.
Cervus hey buddy
