Arthur, I wouldn't bet my life on using a 22lr for self defense. If it is all you have then sure but certainly not my first choice. The best self defense ammo currently may be the Federal Punch. I don't know on the Colt 1911 22lr make.

I assume, but I don't know for sure unless I look up the serial number. I can't recall if I did or not. Did you see the serial number and that's what you figured it to be?

@cervus-venator yes, looked like a 19, so 19 backwards from 2000 would be an 81. Hence the year it was made. Sweet rifle. I love collecting these 22s.

Yeah Bill it is funny that this is just Lake City ammo loaded with the Hornady bullet for Hornady of course. I found that it shoots really well in this rifle and it is cheap compared to say a box of Hornady Black or Hornady Match. Not bad for a range plinker rifle.

About the only place I can find them is on Ebay. I don't know of any that are newly made, but I'm sure if there is someone making them they are expensive. I did see on Midway that they have a Barska 3/4 scope with rings for about 20 bucks. You could get that to use the rings on your scope.

That sounds about right. I saw them new at guns shows around that time for that price. If I recall correctly I got this one at a gun show in the late 80's early 90's and it seems like it was around 35 to 40 bucks new. I still have it.

Pretty easy, break gun down, trigger unit with charging bolt, slides out front of receiver, but beware, when breaking rifle down is when most broken firing pins occur! be sure to hold back on charging bolt when attempting procedure! You can find pertinent info on TH-cam! The Browning firing pin can be obtained from Numrich/ GPC possibly Brownells

@@cervus-venator I was really speaking about GA. with the first Saturday. It mostly hits the holiday because it is the first Monday I believe

@@carbonspyder235 You're correct. Labor Day is first Monday in Sept. Dove Season in GA is the first Saturday. I was just looking at all the other states except my on.

Awesome on the expansion! Yeah I'm going to try a couple of different things next year too in relation to the seed. Of the good seed heads I did get the gold finches are tearing them up. I planted on May 1st and I need not plant that early next time. The Dove proso millet is great and I hope the dove find it. We'll have to see.

Yeah I saw a neighbor combined his corn. It sure had a lot of weeds in it. It was a pivot field so he was able to water it during the dry months.

That is a Ford 4000 made in 1964. It is a 50 HP. I burned the field last Sunday. I didn't do any filming as I was way too busy working. It was just me and my friend burning off the field so I really had to keep an eye on things.

I'll certainly check thous out James. I always like looking at equipment videos.

I'm on a hill top so I have no water source to do a pond in the field. If I had a kiddie pool I'd have to fill it with a hose, lol.

You need one of those industrial jugs in a cage ! About 250 gal to put in your pk up bed trailer , scrape a low spot where you have a wash, put a li er w/rocks and empty the "jug" , when it rains will replenish...hopefully. maybe add a few rain barrels to out buildings to catch wild water. Lol

That is the way it used to be in GA, but they changed it several years ago. I like the morning shoot, but afternoon is fine too.

My understanding is that most places are opening then too. But the GA regs clearly shows that state wide dove season opens September 7th. Si I have another full week to wait.

I'm not sure why they stopped with the Walnut stocks. I only have one Rem 700 also in 30-06 that I bought. It had the synthetic stock, but I bought a walnut stock to replace it with. I never made the replacement because it was shooting so well just as it came that I decided not to change it. This Rifle in the video belongs to my friend. It sure looks good with that oil finished stock.

Yeah, this thing looks great and it preforms great too so I am quite please with the purchase.

Yes it does Lance and that is the one thing I always worry about when picking up used stuff. But this one is fine. Once I did the testing of it and fixed the little things I fell in love with having this as a plinker. Thanks Lance.

@@cervus-venator Yeah I got burned on the very first used rifle that I bought. Kinda put a sour taste in my mouth for a while but I got over it.

I'd never known about the Browning SA-22 until I researched this rifle after buying it. Once I found out and found all the features that this rifle has it makes me want to get a Browning. But i also realized that i still want to get a Marlin 39a too so I have to decide what i want to try and get first. Then again, I may just wait and wish since they cost so much. Thanks Carbon!
