3 UPDATES: Husband Files For A Divorce Out Of Nowhere & Ghosts Me .. 5 Years Later, MIL Gives me The Real Reason. I am Shocked as my Ex-husband Is Now Blowing up my Phone With Apologies…
For some background, me and Keith had been dating ever since we were in undergraduate school. That is where we first met, became friends and then eventually started our relationship. Even though the memories of our relationship have become slightly blurry after everything that happened and after the fact that so much time has passed since everything happened, I still would say in the span of three years of our marriage and three years of dating, we had a pretty good relationship.

Story 1: Keith ruined his marriage. He could've confronted his wife and waited until the delivery date to see if she was telling the truth. If he had been upfront with her, none of this would've happened. His entitlement and nasty behavior come from his mother. He doesn't deserve a second chance. Instead, he should be paying child support. Also, get a restraining order on the former monster-in-law. She started this whole mess.

@@groofromtheup5719 I believe Keith already knew. His mother mentioned how she “looked like it”. I also believe she only wanted a relationship with OP when she realized she was pregnant. When they were getting better acquainted, she looked for someone to be the other man. She chose the boss because that's a man OP would have to see every day which was why the plan worked. She purposely deceived her son to end their marriage. Keith knew his mother hated his wife and still didn't give her a chance to prove her innocence. He had a chance to mend things when the cops reached out to him but chose not to. He's not ready to be a parent, let alone a husband.

      Common courtesy.
The blatant refusal to clean somebody's dish, from which they've enjoyed a gift, AND complain they're "not obligated" to clean up after themselves, shows an abject ignorance of basic social etiquette.
I've worked in the hospitality/restaurant industry for years. Those places I've enjoyed have been with respectful, courteous staff, to both customers and colleagues. Those that have been 'trying' to downright hell-holes were staffed by the most egregious and spoiled children you can think possible.
No matter what or whose equipment you use your first responsibility is clean and maintain it.
But there's the rub. Teaching responsibility and social etiquette has become so rare, over the past decades of an increased focus on entitlement and resista1nce to growing up, it should be classified as a super-power.
Problem is, the general zeitgeist is that 'social etiquette' is seen as obsolete and passé.
And people wonder why I get grouchy quick these days . . .

Story 2: If this woman goes crazy ape-shit bonkers over a speech which was not about her... at a wedding... where there are going to be children... and people are going to speculate about grandchildren... then, to be quite honest, she's way too unstable to have children anyway. If the bride and groom already had a child, would she have taken umbrage with them for that too?
Sadly, there are plenty of people who enjoy a bit of misery and will twist their minds inside out to be able to make everything that happens about them and their issues. I've met some old ladies who are lonely and alone. When you talk to them, they immediately start talking about their illnesses, about how miserable the world is, etc, etc, etc. They honestly can't see that they're sucking the joy from the room and the reason they're alone is that they exhaust everybody around them with their constant complaints and moans.

No, it's not right to return a dirty dish to someone who shared a treat. The person who said the treat is the gift and the dish is loaned agrees with what my mother always taught me. Point two is that any dish is usually much easier to clean right after it becomes empty, plus it's the friendly and neighborly thing to do. How lazy does one have to be to give back an excuse rather than simply wash a dish? Quite often when someone brungs a treat to work, the group makes certain it gets clean to give back with encouragement to feelfree to fill it up again. 🙂

Story #1 What a sad situation! People, do you see the damage caused by lies & gossip? Even if you think something is true (the MiL thought it was true) be quiet unless you have 100% proof. Also, don’t trust the gossiping person like the ex-husband did. Go find out the truth on your own.

So...let me summarize what your ex husband did.
    1) He believed his mother, / whom he had perfectly known that never liked you, based on some assumptions and never with proof.
A normal person would have asked her: ok, can you please get proof that my wife is cheating? If you saw them so many times, surely you have photos/videos that can prove it?
    2) He never confronted you
    3) He ghosted you and vanished in thin air.
And now, NOW he feels entitled to act crazy, get mad at the fact that he never knew about having a daughter etc?!?
Girl, i know for a fact that you never had a MIL problem, you had a husband problem.
If your partner is not on your side, it's them that will break your couple and marriage.
    Trust me, i know.
My very first serious boyfriend, probably the most traumatizing ending of a relationship that i'll ever had since i was in so deep that i didn't see the surface of it for years, ghosted me too.
Except that in that case it wasn't a MIL that was involved, but a "friend" (my ex best friend, by the way) who did the exact same thing. Not a single proof. He fed him something that every idiot could understand was a lie, if you knew me for more than a month i dare say.
Not a single person believed him, apart from...guess who? My fuckin' partner. Of 5 and a half years.
And after a lot of time, since he discovered about all the lies, he came back crawling. Apologizing profusely.
He still wants to "give us a real chance".
Reports from old acquaintances say that he's really miserable, apparently.
I hope that he'll soon find peace and understand that that train passed a long time ago and is never coming back, not even over my dead body...it's too late (because of multiple reasons).
I really hope he'll sober up for a future relationship and that, if a similar "accident" occurs, he'll start to confide more in his next partner and trust her.
She'll not be me and i'll soon move very far away, it's finally my turn to disappear this time.
This type of people don't deserve you.
Let them be your past forever.

In the first story. What a horrible man Keith turned out to be in the end. I still can't believe that he would just take the words of his mother for gospel and not even ask his wife for her side of the story. It makes my blood boil that the Mother In Law hated her Daughter In law so much that she broke up a good marriage just because of her hatred because in her mind the Daughter In Law wasn't good enough for her precious son. Part of me is glad that he ghosted his wife and she saw his true colours and got out of the marriage when she did. After five years and the ex Daughter In Law and her daughter went back for a visit and the look on her ex Mother In Laws face when she saw her grand daughter. I laughed out loud when Keith found out too late that the daughter was really his then he tried to come crawling back to his ex wife expecting her to welcome him back with open arms. What a tosser.

Story #3: it’s common courtesy if someone gifts you food in a non-disposable dish, you wash it before you return it to them, especially if you work and are eating it at a restaurant where there is a dishwasher.
I’ve worked at numerous places and brought in food for my co-workers, all but one had sinks in store where dishes were washed (most of them didn’t even serve food, but they still washed my dishes) and the one that didn’t, they would take whatever was left home, and return the clean dishes to me the next shift, it’s not that hard.

Public service announcement to men: if you listen to mommy, take it with a grain of salt and at least get hard evidence of cheating otherwise. The way he went about leaving and divorcing her alone would warrant scorch earth consequences, i.e.. never talking them or him about the child. Also i would never allow the child to go near them, but I would take them for everything the courts gave me. I doubt she got a fair shake in the divorce, but she saw it as enviable, nor could she contact him as he ran like a child. He made his bed. Now he needs to lie in it.
