My brother, Mason, has always been an entitled a-hole. I'm genuinely not sure where he got from but it's been in him ever since we were kids. Where me and my other siblings (one younger and one older brother) grew up to be quite non-confrontational, my brother became the loud, mean bully. He had no respect for anyone around him, not for his siblings nor for his parents. So having empathy and respect for the people around him would be a thing that would be useless to even consider that he ever cared about the feelings of anyone else except for.

Story 1: When you're at someone’s funeral, you don't bring up past drama. Mason should've kept his mouth shut instead of provoking OP and their dad. I don't blame Larissa for not wanting him. He sounds immature and unstable. OP did the right thing. It could've gotten worse had he not called security.

Who are these families that thinks it’s ok to insert themselves in drama? If my extended family had an opinion on an issue I was having with siblings I’d tell them to F off.

NTA!! OP, you're making the best decision that you can for your younger, special needs brother. You're taking responsibility for him by making sure that he'll have the PROFESSIONAL care that he needs, when the time comes. You've ensured that you'll be living close to him so that you can frequently check up on him.
Your Uncle Richard was out of line to stick his nose into your business and more out of line to berate you for not taking care of your brother in the manner of HIS choosing. He got called on his hypocrisy and stormed off in a huff of butt hurt. His reaction to getting called out was not in your control. We all have to be responsible for our own emotional reactions and HIS reaction was CHILDISH.
Since the responsibility for your brother falls ultimately to you, no one else gets a vote in how you deal with that responsibility unless and until they take it off your shoulders, so Uncle Richard's opinion is worth TWO THINGS........Jack and sh*t......AND JACK JUST LEFT.

There wasn't enough information to know if op was correct in throwing brother out. The father could have told the brother that they will discuss the will the following day, not during the funeral. I think the father was the idiot, but at the same time it was his wife's funeral.

No way get a written agreement contract how the money will be returned how much per month.
You should take them to small claims if it can cover the cost of the car. Or go to the people you know that will help you first. They forged your name stole your money unexcusable
