Good thing there was a CCTV cameras and video. That mother-in-law is pure evil! Never let it just go! If her husband wants OP to just let it go. Divorce the husband. Move on!
Story one.... Being falsely accused and arrested is not "petty". MIL is the criminal here. Hit MIL with the max! OP needs to divorce the momma's boy, and move on.
Thank you officer. Please carefully keep the cctv footage as it is evidence of 3 crimes. 1. You will immediately arrest MIL for filing a false police report. 2. You will charge her with aiding and abetting a false imprisonment. 3. You will lastly charge her with slander for the false and defamatory statements about me she PUBLICLY uttered in your presence and which you were witness to. Thank you officers.
Or "Thank you MiL, since its now on record that you tried to set me up for theft and failed, I can now steal all these things for real, and when you try to accuse me, no one will believe you."
@@SH-qs7ee When you said that I was thinking about "The Catbird Seat" by James Thurber ( I thought it was Tennessee Williams) I think you'll get the reference.
1st story. OP needs to file for divorce and move on. Her husband is under a lot of stress, to be sure, but his actions plainly show lack of concern for his wife.
She should take the video to the TV news station and have them do a story and show the video so MIL's reputation would be ruined over the whole community.
Ever hear of boy who cried wolf? A clever and predatory thief could then target her knowing if it was ever his word against hers nobody would believe her.
I presume, as mentioned in the story, that even if they had OP still would've needed to go to the station for whatever paperwork the officer mentioned.
Yay!!! for OP. Glad she pressed charges against her MiL, and won. Too bad her marriage suffered because of it but hopefully with marriage counseling they can work thing's out once he transfers back. Even if they can't, hopefully her Ex has learned a valuable lesson concerning his Mother and any future relationships he has Doesn't have to go this same route.
@@thecoolgrandma7208 I THINK that OP's husband SHOULD TOTALLY DISOWN his Mother. For the MiL to go that LOW, to TRY to get the DiL to be jailed is SOOOO DISGUSTING. THAT'S what you CALL THE MIL FROM HELL.
MIL needed to be punished. Perhaps the jail time made her realise that she wasn't as tough as she thought she was. Police do not take kindly to having their time wasted by some vindictive mother in law. Naturally, they would've supported the private prosecution. The burden of proof is lower. It's on the balance of probability compared to beyond a reasonable doubt in criminal court.
Dog poop doesn't belong anywhere on a kitchen counter regardless of whether it's used or not. There's no excuse for it and the rest of that dog poop being where it shouldn't be is a deal breaker for sure.
Story 3. Dog poop does not ever belong in the kitchen. Let alone on the counter, or anywhere in the vicinity of food. He was justified in his actions, because he was making a valid point. If it grossed her out to have it packaged in her shoe, she should realize he was equally ( if not more so) grossed out to find it on the kitchen counter.
Really convenient that he decides to move back after "mommy's" sentence is over huh probably going to join forces with her to get back at op for not putting up with her bs
I think you guys underestimate how complicated relationships and feelings are, you can't just suddenly hate a person that took care of you for your while life, things take time to get sorted out.
@@GoldenLeafsMovies I don't underestimate it I just think the timing of his decision to come back is questionable of course Idk how his relationship with his mommy is my parents never took care of me my uncle raised me so I may sound a bit cynical when I say this she should tell her husband to run home to his "dear precious mommy" and get the hell out of my life and stay there.
@@christopherbillings6294 That's understandable and hopefully he did understand when she said she doesn't want his mother in her life. But I guess a little awareness and skepticism isn't bad.
@@GoldenLeafsMovies I don't like being skeptical but life has taught me to be that way I can count the number of people I truly trust on less than the fingers of one hand I've learned that the only person I can truly trust in my life is myself I look at my reflection in a mirror and I know the person looking back at me will never betray me
Last story: NTA. Your family should learn that dog poop goes in the toilet, not in the trash. It's like if human poop went in the trash, the whole house would smell bad.
The OP should have divorced the husband. The fact that he wanted her to "drop" the charges speaks volumes. Even worse is how he got a job transfer to "get distance" from his wife. FOR A YEAR. This man is not a proper spouse. If OP were my daughter, I'd tell her to leave and forget about this awful man and his goblin mother. What's going to happen if/when they have children? Hubby will want his mom to be "grandma" and we're I OP I wouldn't trust this woman around my children.
I have often thought that if someone makes a false charge, he or she should be subject to exactly the same penalties as the accused, not a token slap on the wrist.
Story 1. OP you were not the AH, but I think your husband was a major AH for expecting you to let his mom slide after she tried to get you arrested for thief. You were only saved because of the cameras that were in your home, and she was not going to cut any slack for you. Her plans were crystal clear, if not for the cameras she would have filed charges against you, had you jailed and ruined your life, and your husband seemed to not really acknowledge that. And him deciding he had to get away from you, instead of making the decision to get you away from his mother is so fubar as to be unbelievable. He was wrong and I truly believe you deserve so much better than the spineless POS he proved to be. OP, I have my doubts that your husband is actually going to be accepting of you refusing to have a relationship with his mom. I think you are being foolish for giving him another chance since you were clearly wronged by your mother, so much so that she was fined a substantial amount of money and sentenced to a year in jail. You are in a place of your own, you realize you can live without him, and it sounds to me like you can do so much better, even if it means being alone. I know you want what you want, but honey, I hope you are not just opening yourself up to more heartbreak by a man who seems to believe that you must except abuse from his mother. Sounds to me like he at the minimum should be willing to go complete NC with her. Anything short of him disowning her and acting like he has no mother would not be enough for me. She tried to destroy you and all you did is to protect yourself. Now he better step up and show you that you are his number one priority, and his egg donor means nothing to him anymore. Yes, I am being harsh, but this woman did the unthinkable and does not deserve to be in your life, or the life of any of your future children. And if your husband does not get that, then ditch the husband before you find yourself having his child and you being forced to let his mother back into your life, for your child's sake. (And no, I do not believe your child needs a grandma like that, the witch would probably kill your child just to get back at you--and frame you for it).
If falsely accusing someone of a crime is illegal, why did OP have to report anything? MIL lied to the police and broke the law. Once realizing what happened, couldn't they have picked her up themselves? Seems like MIL would have seen consequences without OP taking her to court and none of drama would be blamed on her.
@@debl3063 I have brothers who were police officers, and I have worked in security for the Federal Government as a DOD chemical Guard and as a Federal Police Officer on a Naval base. There are a lot of illegal acts that the police do not arrest people for if the victim of the crime will not file charges. And that is most likely to happen when it comes to crimes committed by friends or family of the victim. It is one of the reasons why so many police officers hate to have to respond to domestic violence calls. In many cases police officers do get called into situations where it is clear that a crime was committed, and it is clear who the victim is and who the criminal is. But since the cops are not actually there seeing the crime committed and have a very good idea of what had occurred from beginning to end they are not able to file charges. It would probably be shocking to many people to know that if a police officer goes to a call about domestic violence that even if a woman comes to the door bloody and obviousely beaten and a husband is standing there with blood on his hands, if the woman tells the cops she fell down the steps and her husband is all bloody because he lovingly helped her up, there is not much a cop can do. I am glad that OP decided to file charges and follow through. And if she had decided not to the cops would know a crime was committed, would feel mother-in-law committed a crime and should be punished, and are going to resent they wasted their time and filled out paperwork for charges that are never filed. But they already know that even though they know the crime was committed and they have proof by way of the video evidence all it would take for the mother-in-law to walk away would have been for OP to show up at the trial and tell the judge that is was all a total misunderstanding between her and MIL and that she didn't understand what was really going on, and that she realizes she made a mistake and mommy dearest really didn't do anything wrong. It was just a misunderstanding. So if OP doesn't make her own decisions about pressing charges the cops already know that they will probably be wasting even more of their time and resources on trying to get someone punished who others are going to cover up for, especially the crime victim. There are bad cops out there, I have seen them and worked with them. There are a lot of good cops out there who really do care about the public, and justice and really want to do the right things. And they serve a public that does not alway cooperate with them, or report crimes, or file charges for a lot of different reasons, including loving and caring about a terrible, abusive person, being afraid for their lives or the lives of others they love, deciding that the time and disruptions to their life to persue charges are just not worth it to them, or because they are pressured by the family, or even convinced that it was their fault and their actions that caused them to be a victim of crime. I have been on both sides of this situation, as a member of law enforcement that walks away from a crime victim knowing that a crime was committed and harm was done, but also knowing that the victim was not going to take action and I would probably be involved in the future with another similar incident, and having been in an abusive relationship where not covering for the person who abused me might have resulted in further injury down the road, maybe even to my children. When it came to this last situation, I did realize at that point I was getting me and my girls out, but I also knew that I needed a plan to get away and stay away. So I got out and never looked back.
Pat you were not being harsh. You explained the truth to a woman who too traumatized by her mother- in-law abuse and her husband’s abandonment to see the big picture. She needs therapy big time to get away from these people.
I am very sad to say, OP should NEVER trust Husband again. He abandoned her for a YEAR because she held MIL responsible for multiple felonies. MIL "won" by destroying OP's marriage, but so did OP, who learned she can never rely on H.
Story 1 NTA OP's husband has a nerve asking OP to forgive his mother. His mother tried to frame OP for theft and get OP unjustly arrested. I hope OP's husband has grown a spine now and will stand up to his mother to protect OP from her vindictive hatred.
Not just arrested, total ruination of OP. I'm glad OP put her in jail and moved TF out. The husband should be ashamed for not standing behind his wife.
I think this story is BS. The part that made me not believe it was when OP stated she got the fine paid to her from her FIL? Victims do not get the fines. Fines go to the court. Restitution or punitive damages go to the victim. While It's possible Op was just using the wrong terminology, I just don't buy it.
I can relate to OP about the dog poo being placed in the trash as soon as it is picked up, and to NEVER be left on a kitchen counter of all things! Before I begin my story it is important to note that as our home had 3 full bathrooms, and I prefer a bath, and my husband prefers a shower, we used separate bathrooms. When my three kids ages 2, 1, and newborn, I he’d read that on average it cost $2,000 for disposable diapers by the time each one was potty trained. So I always used cloth diapers. My husband and I worked opposite shifts, so I was asleep one day, and he had changed our son’s diaper after he had diarrhea. He always refused to rinse out the soiled ones, so I told him to just place them on top of the diaper bucket, where I had them in laundry presoak, and I would take care of them as I washed the diapers daily. Instead he had repeatedly left them on the floor in a heap. Each time he did this I had to strip and re-wax it as the urine reacted with the wax, making a large, opaque white spot. Well, on the day my son had diarrhea, I had left my work shoes in the bathroom before I went to bed. They were part of my work uniform and the only ones I had. When I woke I found that my husband had placed that nasty diaper on my work shoes! I had to throw them out and buy a new pair. I was SO UPSET that I took all of my husband’s work shirts, tossed them into his shower and dumped the entire bucket of soaking diapers onto them! He had to do the laundry himself and sanitize his shower before going to work. Was I the AH?
If the bag of dog poop can make the sneaker smell like poop than it can definitely also make the counter smell like poop. I think he was 100% justified and should have used that fact as proof of how gross it is to even bring the bag into the kitchen to begin with. I didn’t even throw away my human child’s diaper in the kitchen trash can. I tied them up in saved plastic grocery bags and put them in can outside. The thought of dog poop on a kitchen counter is enough to make me not want to cook food in that room at all.
It probably won't make the counter smell like a pair of runners as the counter is non porous where the runners are porous and will pick up smells. Still, why would anyone bring it indoors?
Op is 100% not the AH on this one. I would not be surprised if this was a power play by his wife. He warned her multiple times not to play stupid games.
What I can’t get my head around here is that OP’s wife thought nothing of putting the bag of dog poo on the kitchen worktop, but got offended at the same bag being put in one of her shoes. As a commenter said, it shouldn’t even be in the kitchen, let alone on the worktop. Also agree it was probably a power-play.
This is a very unpleasant situation which i urge everyone to avoid! Well, naturally, it's horrible, what happened. I'm so sad to hear that... so I've never been through anything like this. It's frustrating, but the situation still depends only on us! Maybe you like it th-cam.com/video/miJZFh9jd7g/w-d-xo.html
story 1, NTA. That MiL is vile, I can't stand or understand people like that. How dare the husband ask his own wife forgive his mom after what that vile woman did?! I would be suing her as well. Fil has every right to mad as hell at his wife. I'm sure he's horrified to find out what she tried to do to op. The fights are more than likely, him going off on her and her actually trying to defend herself and getting mad at him for getting mad at her. I get on not wanting to deal with the fighting but the husband should have been mad and at least yelled at his vile mother. It seems his time away was a good thing after all, it looks like he realized how vile his mom is to his wife.
I agreed with everything you said until that last sentence and clause. I don't think he realizes how awful his mother was to his wife. The mother is back home and he is going to want to resume relations with her as if nothing happened. There's NO WAY OP should let that woman back into her life. Either that husband choose his wife or he chooses his mother, but it cannot be both - at least not THIS OP and his mother. If he is unwilling to choose, then OP should make the choice to cut him out of her life. He will not protect her. She is supposed to be his #1.
as my wife's dementia became more recognizable, we put her into a police department list so that any 911 calls to our residence, came with a trained officer able to deal with her failing memory and cognition. she lived less than a year. we miss her but not the craziness.
Story 3: Who in the h3ll puts dog poo bags everywhere, especially on the kitchen counter? I have a dog and when I was training her, the poo bags go directly in the trash. That is just disgusting and unsanitary. The wife and kid are disgusting and lazy.
I have a cat and when I clean litter boxes, the bags aren't sitting around my kitchen or anywhere. It goes directly into the can with a sealed lid and that's where it stays until it's disposed into the dumpster. As someone who has OCD and issues with germs, I don't even allow cats to jump onto my counters and tables and I certainly wouldn't put bags of used cat litter on the counters or table either. If someone did that with any type of poop or urine from any animal or person, I would be livid and disgusted.
That's the part of the story that doesn't make sense. If you're going to go to all the trouble of picking up the poop and bagging it, why not take a couple more steps to put it in the trash bin. I mean, 80% of the work is already done.
The part where the husband left his wife for a year when his mum was clearly in the wrong is telling. We're I her I would have asked for a divorce. A fin YEAR he was gone. There would be no home for him to come back to
MIL tries to get his wife jailed, husband asks wife to forgive and, when she doesn't, buggers off for a year and says he "might come back in the future". Personally, I wouldn't have told him the new house address - I'd have given him the choice of digit to swivel on. 🤯
@@squeezerdsqueezerd2427 Nah. Divorce papers would suffice. I wouldn't stay in a marriage with a man who would see me falsely accused of a crime and facing imprisonment and think I should just let it go when I prove the accusations to be false - all because his MOTHER was the one making the false accusations! He is supposed to have MY back - not his mother's! I couldn't trust that man in future to protect me from his mother. Therefore, I would have to distance myself from him as well as her. It is obvious that he chose his mother over his wife! He would never have to make that choice again if I was the wife!
I keep trying to write my story but I am not good at writing. But it's a doozy and ended with My (44)mom (67) stealing my identity to get all my stimulus checks totaling 4k. I disowned her 5 months later when I found out. Worse.. she sat with me while crying for months about the checks never coming
The story with the dog poop is the grossest thing I've heard. This is why you can't eat from people, you don't know what kind of disgusting things they do like leaving dog poop on their kitchen counter 🤢🤮🤮🤮
Dog poop? That dog would be given away or sold by the time I had to say it the second time. Since I didn't want the beast anyway, that would be a fabulous excuse to get rid of it.
Story 1. An alternate revenge on MIL would be taking the rolling pin and breaking a finger. Tell her more will follow if she's not careful. But OP's way is probably better.
Story 1: I would have a hard time referring to MIL as human anymore after that. I’d feel justified saying she lost the right to be referenced as anything resembling a human being upon doing such an intentionally harmful act that most people probably wouldn’t even do to their worst enemies.
I'm the same way, have all the pets you want but if you want their poop cleaned up or for them not to starve to death you better keep on top of it because they aren't my problem.
I very much doubt that OP would have been in trouble for moving things around in a home. She had to sell those things for the police to become involved. It's like shoplifting. It's only illegal once the items leave the store.
Story1.and Story2....You did the right thing by testifying against the guilty. The Bible says to do this ....and if you don’t do that, it is a sin. Proverbs 24:24-25
For anyone who’s falsely accused and able to proof it, the guilty verdict for the culprit should be the baseline. Just to prevent them from trying again until something sticks. Starting from that baseline, one can or cannot be generous. P.s.:Prison without probation seems odd for a first time offender, but we don’t know how she behaved in court.
Who the hell puts a bag of dog crap on a kitchen counter?!? That's f'ing gross. And I think him putting the bag of crap in her shoe, still tied in a bag, after so many times asking them to not do it, was pretty much the only way left. Civility failed, this called for a message, and that message was sent. Of course she was mad, it directly affected her, good. Sometimes people need a message put across in kind to their actions. Words just don't always work.
Story 1: Just where were these CCTV cameras that she was able to see what was being taken from each room? I can understand cameras in hallways, but in each bedroom?!?
It's probably because the items where in the black bag the mil gave to the police. She could assume which room each item came from. The cameras probably showed nil with the bag going from room to room until she left it in OPs room.
When you get married your spouse comes first or why get married?. The husband should have stuck by his wife and told his mother exactly where to go. It's one of the great marriage wreckers, a person choosing a parent over their spouse, trying to keep both happy or walking away. OP is correct, her MIL is an a.hole and her husband should have seen that
You were falsely accused of a crime. You were right to prosecute your MIL. She was sentenced to a year in jail, but what would have been your punishment if she had gotten away with her lies. She was the criminal here.
1st story. Im assuming this is another country because that's not how initial investigations work. You aren't just arrested and told good luck defending yourself. That would be a major lawsuit waiting to happen if this was in the states.
OP's husband is weak and a coward. Didn't defend his wife from his mother and then ran away when OP was the biggest victim of it all...what a pathetic person.
Story 3. I'm a dog lover, I've had dogs for most of my life both as a child and my own as an adult. I would never bring dog poop inside the house and if a dog had an accident inside then I would flush the poop in the toilet. Poop does not belong in the kitchen ever! The family was disgusting and the OP tried to make them understand. Putting the poop with personal belongings of the wife was justified. Germs from poop does not belong in the kitchen and if the sneakers smelled like poop, then the bag was leaking.
OP that's why you should never eat from most people, for some people are very nasty in the way handle things like that in their home. Please think twice before you go to dinner at some one home. OP you are so right about the 🐕 poop 💩 should never be in the kitchen at all.
I grew up with pets (mainly cats and dogs) and are a dog person. As such, I find it should be common sense that used poop bags go into the trash ASAP. Leaving poopbags around the place is disgusting, unhygienic and may even invite certain pests to the property. If I were OP I'd had taken the dog to the shelter
NTA, you had to show that message to your husband. That was a very disturbing text. I also find it weird that she fainted, my son is diabetic and he has never fainted from being confronted.
OP did the right thing in having the MIL charged, because that woman committed a serious crime. And for the enabling husband to try and defend the indefensible showed his true colours. Even though the MIL destroyed the marriage, she also did OP a favour by exposing what the husband is really like, and where his real priorities are. Even though things seemingly improved over time, there's no reason to trust him again. I would have divorced his ass.
1st story, OP, sorry but you married a jackass, you didn't do anything wrong, if he cannot recognize that, and wanted you to let this go, amply demonstrates that. At the very least you need couples counseling, he needs to grow up and realize his mother is a miserably dreadful person, the less you have to do with her the better.
Last story. My question is, why is dog poop in the house at all? Keep a small covered can outside and pick it up with a scoop and dump each one in the can. Why are they picking it up and bringing it in the house?
Poop dog poop in bags everywhere….how disgusting is OPs family. How hard is it to throw away the freaking poop. I couldn’t live with these people it’s not the dogs fault.
1. What mother in her right mind does this to their child's spouse? That's just horrible. 2. Most married men who cheat have an excuse as to why they can't leave their wife. The problem is, they don't want to leave their wife and never had any intention to leave. Never believe a married man when he is trying to get you in bed. It's all lies. 3. What is the matter with that wife that she can't throw those poop bags right into the garbage? That's beyond disgusting. Why couldn't she just listen to her reasonable husband? I don't blame him. Be diplomatic and adult the first time. Second time, be firm. Third time, all bets are off.
There's a stop to each story now. 🎉 I don't know if its because of my comment but thank you. It was puzzling by thinking if what I was hearing was a story by a commenter.
A completely disgusting thing to setup and falsely accuse someone of a crime. If there hadn't been CCTV footage, the evil witch might have succeeded with it and ruined OPs life. MIL deserved much worse punishment than what she got.
Story 1. I'm sorry you went through that. Your MIL is a horrible toxic person. I'm sure that before this you at least tried to be civil with her. She was very wrong. I wish you the best from now on. I hope your husband comes to his senses.
Story 1. So husband wants his wife to just forget about what HIS mother did to her?! He should be furious at his mother! Story 3: You don’t put bags of dog poop anywhere in the kitchen! Beyond gross! Well done!
OP's husband asked her to let it go and forgive MIL...sure, just let OP's mother accuse husband of theft or assault then, so he can be in OP's place too and see if HE would be able to forgive someone for almost ruining his life too...🙄
Story three: Dog poo on the kitchen counter? Oh, hell no! Having to deal with the smell and mess of someone else's pet waste is bad enough, but on the kitchen counter? I'm not sure there's enough bleach in the world to deal with that!
NTA, if they had picked up the poop outside, it should have NEVER come into the house. Don't you have an outside garbage can (with latching lid?). I have 4 dogs, unless one of them had an accident in the house, there is NO poop in my home!! Even then it would immediately go out to the front porch (where we have a small garbage can with lid for misc. things that stink and need to be outside) till we do a trash run. Poop in the kitchen?!!! Nasty! On the counter?! Disgusting!!! Even a baby disposable diaper wouldn't be found in my kitchen. Those can be in bathroom trashcan but someone will be doing trash runs every other day!!! Also, wife's sneakers can be tossed into a washer to remove smell. But she at least learned her lesson 😉
Dog poop on the counter is not normal. But further than that she is disrespecting your wishes so there is something going on there underneath the surface issue
Well, when we got our dogs as puppies, they would have accidents inside while potty training. Of course there are accidents if you leave them inside too long, if you go away for too long. So it could be clean up inside but still, why would you take it into the kitchen instead of using a bathroom trashcan or taking directly outside?!!! Also since it is poop just flush it!!!!
@@carrieowen5895 Agreed. And setting a bad example for the child as well. She's behaving like a rebellious child instead of being a good example for her own child.
S1 why the hell was she still living with them if it was so bad, why didn't they move out before it got that bad? Like if they're in a couture that does generational living (which can be kinda cool) then shouldn't they be from a culture that accepts that you not only marry a person but their family too.
Story 1: OP didn't have a MIL problem; she had a husband problem. Story 3: not just a dog, a BIG dog, and not just in the kitchen, but on the counter. Oh hell no, if it scented her shoes and it was in a plastic bag, how can she say there's no issue with it being on the counter? What kind of idiot would do that, repeatedly?
I would have divorced her husband once he decided he needed a break. I get that it's his mom, but she was in the wrong.

If it grossed her out to have it packaged in her shoe, she should realize he was equally ( if not more so) grossed out to find it on the kitchen counter.
Honestly, OP's husband is a mam's boy and she should leave him, if my mother did something like that to my SO I would be the one prosecuting her.
When he left the country instead of supporting his wife, OP should have served him divorce papers when he returned. MIL is not backing down.
Story 1: Husban is biggest AH of all...OP really needed divorce him like the moment he left
Story 1 NTA op might as well get a divorce that's one crazy family
and run like HELL !!!
@@GoldenLeafsMovies I don't like being skeptical but life has taught me to be that way I can count the number of people I truly trust on less than the fingers of one hand I've learned that the only person I can truly trust in my life is myself I look at my reflection in a mirror and I know the person looking back at me will never betray me
@@christopherbillings6294 Teah I understand you. Though I tend to doubt even myself so that brings a lot of trouble.
Story 1: No forgiveness forever, no contact with your in-laws and ex-husband.
Hovering below the surface, the husband is being run by the MIL That house is a soap opera, best to get away and don't look back.
I have often thought that if someone makes a false charge, he or she should be subject to exactly the same penalties as the accused, not a token slap on the wrist.
Stick it to her! And if your husband sides with her, divorce him.
How can she stay with someone like that? He agrees with his mom....
Story 1: crazy mil is trying to actively ruin op's life and husband is begging op to forgive her....hell no....divorce his ass....
HUSBAND USED TIME 2. HAVE A BALL . SHE NEEDS 2 TAKE HIM 4. EVERYTHING , LEAVING HIM . GOD WILL SEND HER A STRONG MAN ! REAL MAN THAT WILL PUT HER 1st.

I think this story is BS. The part that made me not believe it was when OP stated she got the fine paid to her from her FIL? Victims do not get the fines. Fines go to the court. Restitution or punitive damages go to the victim. While It's possible Op was just using the wrong terminology, I just don't buy it.

1st story, nta, find a great a divorce lawyer and get out of there!!
Oh hell yeah !!!
Maybe you like it

story 1, NTA.
Husband should be dumped
@@judohunter1 His dad should also divorce his mom. He now knows how vile she is.
Honestly if I was in a relationship and my spouse moved to another country too get some space, that space would be permanent
She is supposed to be his #1.
as my wife's dementia became more recognizable, we put her into a police department list so that any 911 calls to our residence,
came with a trained officer able to deal with her failing memory and cognition. she lived less than a year. we miss her but not the craziness.
Story 3: Who in the h3ll puts dog poo bags everywhere, especially on the kitchen counter? I have a dog and when I was training her, the poo bags go directly in the trash. That is just disgusting and unsanitary. The wife and kid are disgusting and lazy.
Yeah...I can be a cluttered person but dog poop goes directly into the trash. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars!
Right? I mean, in the f8ing kitchen? Comon!
@@dragonfliesnh4204 I always just emptied the litter box directly into the outside bin.
A grown woman just leaves dog poop on the counter and refuses to throw it in the trash can?
The part where the husband left his wife for a year when his mum was clearly in the wrong is telling. We're I her I would have asked for a divorce. A fin YEAR he was gone. There would be no home for him to come back to
MIL tries to get his wife jailed, husband asks wife to forgive and, when she doesn't, buggers off for a year and says he "might come back in the future". Personally, I wouldn't have told him the new house address - I'd have given him the choice of digit to swivel on. 🤯

Any husband who sides with his mom after she tried to put his wife in jail isn't a husband. He's a coward and a mommy's boy.
Story 1: I would have a hard time referring to MIL as human anymore after that. I’d feel justified saying she lost the right to be referenced as anything resembling a human being upon doing such an intentionally harmful act that most people probably wouldn’t even do to their worst enemies.
If your husband sided with his mother, trying to get you to drop the case, you have to know that relationship is over.
He was away for a YEAR, He likely slept with some other women.
I'm the same way, have all the pets you want but if you want their poop cleaned up or for them not to starve to death you better keep on top of it because they aren't my problem.
Last story: Hire a pooper scooper company. They come once or twice a week and you never have to deal with it. Simple.
If I was op I would run from this marriage and move on with life because this drama is not worth staying in this toxic family story 1
Story 1. Tell the family members who sided with MIL they are dead to you and they're next to her machinations.
Oh wow. A court that will actually convict a woman of wrong doing? That's crazy.
Women's prisons are filled with women who were convicted by the courts.
Plenty of women have been convicted of wrongdoing! That's why there are women's prisons and separate jail cells for women!
Yeah, but only because the victim is a woman.
@@robertreed7963 Idk where you got an idea like that. That isn't the only circumstance.
And do it after OP is getting upset. That dog needs a new home in my opinion.
OP is correct, her MIL is an a.hole and her husband should have seen that
Plus, this MIL is not going to change. She will do something again with more serious consequences and the husband is not ready to let mommy go.
She deserves better, much better.
I'm so mad to OP story 1 who coming back to her husband who doesn't even defend her, girl respect yourself
Story 1 : OP will divorce the husband. He is too weak ot stand up to his mother and this is not over as long as they are married.
Definitely press charges against mil
You proved yourself to be right. I personally feel that your husband isn't worth keeping.
If my mother would target my wife in the way the OP's Mil did, she should be afraid of losing her life.
Op NTA your proved your point. She didn't like her stuff smelling like poop. Good for you.
Dump your husband!! If he can't stand up for you over what his mother did, he never will.
She should have been charged for filing a false report and everything else even without your lawyer doing it. The police can charge that
There's a stop to each story now. 🎉 I don't know if its because of my comment but thank you. It was puzzling by thinking if what I was hearing was a story by a commenter.
Story 3: One of the main reasons that I refuse to partake in potluck offerings.
Good Point,
A completely disgusting thing to setup and falsely accuse someone of a crime. If there hadn't been CCTV footage, the evil witch might have succeeded with it and ruined OPs life. MIL deserved much worse punishment than what she got.
When he said he needs space don’t let him come back the mail deserve what she got
Why was MIL not charged _at the time_ with filing a false police report, lying directly to police, the theft itself, false accusation, et al...?
OP is lucky you weren't killed to fill a quota.
why were you living with the In-Law? if it was so bad, why were you there. was it your house or theirs?
Story 1. I'm sorry you went through that. Your MIL is a horrible toxic person. I'm sure that before this you at least tried to be civil with her. She was very wrong. I wish you the best from now on. I hope your husband comes to his senses.
story 1-start by getting her charged with filing a false police report.
Who has husband been sleeping with for past year apart? Would like an update on how marriage working once together again
Who brings it INSIDE? Is she INSANE?
Glad your solution worked.
Everytime she brings it up play Promises, Promises by Dionne Warwick nice and loud.
He needs his space??
WTH!!
Tell your wife you want her to get a full physical, including a full mental check. She’s obviously going a bit nuts.
Story 1: OP didn't have a MIL problem; she had a husband problem. Story 3: not just a dog, a BIG dog, and not just in the kitchen, but on the counter.
