I was getting a lot of comments about two mistakes in the original video so this is a reupload with those sections cut short. Fixed what I could without completely rerecording those sections. Huge thanks to RoyBatty, Ludo, Trash and LedZepIV for helping with this video! Initially I was going to include every cut and inaccessible core game weapon, but I left some cut weapons out that I've already talked about in previous episodes like the Mirelurk Grenade and left others out like Clover's Cleaver, a weapon that's just not that interesting since it was replaced by essentially the same weapon. Also ended up deleting most of the inaccessible weapons section since most of them aren't that interesting either IMO. I hope you enjoy! 🖤
My biggest gripe about _Fallout 3_ has never been its storyline, quests, characters, creatures, or map-although those certainly are lacking-but its dearth of weapons. The game quickly becomes boring when every enemy you kill has an assault rifle, hunting rifle, or Chinese assault rifle. _New Vegas_ succeeded in this area because of its gigantic arsenal of playable weapons. In fact, even though I've been playing the game for close to ten years, there are a number of weapons (mostly energy weapons) that I've never personally used. That's how big the weapon arsenal is.
Yep. I think I went through NV several times before using Grenade Machinegun, Survivalist's Rifle, or All-American to good effect. But you'd always have a Brush Gun or .50 at the store, you can really wreck with anything and still feel "progression".
Yeah but in game you can pick up .308 but not 7.62mm. In Fallout 4 they’re also seperate ammunition types used by different games and aren’t interchangeable
I always knew that the weapons that had a backpack were connected, it annoyed me for so many years but now i feel satisfied after i saw the concept art, rest in piece Adam, we still love you :)

Love how they removed colonels auto laser pistol because it was "OP", and then they released a bunch of broken weapons in the DLCs anyway. Classic Bethesda.
I would bet Dragon Age Origins might have a lot of info and cut content. That was such a great game, the last one made by the golden-age Bioware and what many in the company considered their magnum opus. It's unfortunately been kinda forgotten to history thanks to Bioware's deep decline and the EA-ness of Dragon Age Origin's mediocre sequels. Such a gaming tragedy.
It's very obvious that much more care went into the design of Fallout 3's guns than Fallout 4's. Fallout 4's gun designs really suck IMO. They are all overly bulky and do not appear "mechanically sound," as Fallout 3's devs put it. The only ones I liked at all were the Deliverance and the Combat shotgun. The energy weapons in Fallout 4 were great, however.

Centerfire ammo is just basic ammo. So you have rimfire ammo like .22LR, the firing pin hits the rim and it ignites the liquid primer that then ignites the powder firing the bullet. Centerfire ammo has a solid primer in the center of the cartridge, hence the name: centerfire. It uses a solid primer unlike rimfire which uses a liquid primer. There is a .44 rimfire cartridge, that's actually what early lever action rifles used. However the .44 that's in fallout is centerfire
Important note: rimfire primers aren't actually liquid in the case. They start out as a liquid during manufacturing, but they harden in place before the powder is added.

Regarding the .45 Ammo type, it's likely it was originally intended for the Chinese Pistol, as it is primarily based upon the Shanxi Type 17 which was chambered in .45. However Bethesda (or Emil Pagarulio with his whole "KISS" ethos) decided to scale down the weapons and ammo variety, resulting in the Chinese Pistol becoming a 10mm Pistol. Hilariously the stripper clip with bullets used for the Chinese Pistol reload still show 7.63mm Mauser bullets, likely an assumption by someone at BGS modelling team. Likely .45 was also considered for a .(.45) Submachine Gun which was concepted at 24:33 and based on the MAC-10, however we have no clue if it was a early game SMG, or ultimately replaced by the redesigned Interplay MP9-style 10mm SMG (since the firing sounds for that were inherited from the 22 Pistol, and the reload/jam sound effects were used by a rifleSMG it's likely the 10mm SMG was not originally intended to appear. It's also possible that 7.62mm Ammo (The 7.62 bullet projectile is clearly based upon the 7.62x39mm not the .308/7.62 NATO due to it's shape, and the red banding, NATO rounds don't use bands) was also supposed to be the Chinese Assault Rifle's chambering, before ultimately becoming a 5.56mm Weapon. It would explain why it deals more damage despite using the same round as the R91 Assault Rifle. If it were chambered in 7.62mm, it's likely it wasn't supposed to be the Chinese service rifle in 2077, but like the Interplay Fallout's AK112 it was an imported outdated rifle...would explain the odd Type-93 Designation and it's widescale presence in the capital wasteland; it was intended to be a callback.
Also, I'm guessing that the ".44 centerfire" ammo that would've probably been used by Lincoln's Repeater was supposed to be .44 rimfire, which original Henry rifles were only available in.

Name of the song at 5:43? The video was amazing btw, the info was streamlined and the presentation was great 👍
The atomization actually looks amazing. And i think the transparent bodies are actually a cooler effect as opposed to ask or goo.
Man. Now I want smart Mirelurks.
8:10 - 11:45 what's the name of the ambient music that plays through the Throwing Skill part?
Dreaming Blue by Sextile
I still don't understand why Fallout 3's Hunting Rifle uses .32 rounds.
I'm a pretty big gun nut irl, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about .32cal rounds. They exist obviously, but they're not nearly as common or well known as .308
.32-20
Thanos: You should have gone for the Head 21:10
uh isnt teh cryo weapon in 4 literal on the wall before you leave?? If you try to take it your character says ""Ill be back for you later"
It's in 4, but was cut from 3.
Nice 2am upload time!
Did that ant queen escape from big M.T? How knows
The bolt also could be just be part of a firearm design.... that looks nothing like a crossbow bolt lol
Where do you get the music for your videos?
It's mostly music from games I love or royalty free music I've found on TH-cam
You should name some random games if you want, just to find some soundtracks that immediately come to mind
Such a chill video, im absolutely loving this. Been subscribed since you had a few subs, maybe 700 or 2k. Anyway i was straight up vibing in the concept art bit. Thanks for this. First played Fallout 3 when i turned 12 and I fell in love with it instantly, having come from 1 year of playing fnv. When i first got it like 3 days before my birthday i was so fucking happy, couldnt stop running around my house. I really wanted to go out there and explore a whole new wasteland. You should make a vid on cut Fallout 3 locations. Again, awesome video. Thanks.
Mother 3 Music!? Nice you have great taste
Is the Dart Gun technically a crossbow?
The Fallout 3 Cryolater looks much better than the F4 version. I really missed the craftable weapons with F4.
Imo the Bolt Projectile could have been another ammo type for the Dart Gun as it is pretty much a crossbow.
