No backlight is just stupid. Planned on buying these to my kids. Maybe ill check out the one with ordinary display instead

Yes, the classic model with normal display has better legibility

Got this for Christmas lost it so never got to use it just found it again it fogs up so cant see the display

Yes. I had it for years and never took it out for showers nor swimming.
