    loving the no-BS, no-intro jump right in style of the video! It actually took me by surprise but the content is front and center as it should be and I feel 'respected' while watching this. So thorough, so wholesome. Keep it up!

      @@watchncarry9593 at 18:00 you mention there's 3 layers. The bottom layer is a matte finish. Do you know if that layer is necessary for the watch to function or if it's only for contrast? Also, do you know if I could replace this back layer with a different color or material?

    I wish they made this colour bezel and band in more models. The lack of a backlight is deal killer for me :(

    9:43 that spring is for the beeping sound of the watch. That is what makes the beep. It's like a small sound amplifier

    Moral of story…buy a positive display. Plastic razor blade would work well vs guitar pick.

    Nice video. Casio should have updated this product by now. There are many, many complaints about the negative display AND that the watch has no backlight. They obviously don't care about customer complaints.

    What I did was spend $19 on another original black calculator watch that already had the inverted screen and just disassembled and swapped the whole inner unit. Took like 5 minutes.

    Thank you for this tutorial.
    Isn’t it easier to leave the original filter and just put the new one rotated, the way it changes the negative to positive?

    • @watchncarry9593
      @watchncarry9593  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Bernie_Boernsn thanks. Good question, but no...you have to remove the original polarizing film before putting on the new polarizing film.
      2 polarizing films placed on top of each other wont change the display from negative to positive and vice versa

    Is it possible to install an illuminating layer behind the screen of this watch without causing the watch to malfunction afterwards?
    I saw it been done to different models, not sure if it’s possible here..
    would love to hear your opinion mate

    On my White Casio CA53 Calculator watch, I changed the clock module with one from a positive polarity CA53 calculator watch that had a broken case. The Negative is so much harder to read.

    The "foam" is called a Zebra strip because it is essentially a sandwich if foam and conductors to allow the LCD elements to be excited... up REAL close it resembles a Zebra's stripes...

    I don't know if you will respond but i was wondering if i can peel off the back polarizer "matte or shiny part" hypothesizing that the numbers inclusively will show the pcb background (while the negative foreground of the front polarizer is untouched therefore leaving the shape of the numbers showing the pcb background) i can put a luminescent film that charges with surrounding light which will illuminate the numbers (and other displays) will only light up (or the other digits and functions) thank you for the reply

    what would you charge to change a pro trek PRW-3510Y from negative to positive? :) its a round display. I would accept the risk with no risk to you (you could use it in a video for round displays). My eyes arent as good as they use to be and hands aren't as steady as they use to be....

    why the rubber gloves ?

    • @lucasmarabolim8032
      @lucasmarabolim8032 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      skin has some natural substances and oils that are corrosive to sensitive eletronic circuits such as LCD displays, even after a wash, your body wants to produce those substances and the only way to avoid them is with physical barriers such as gloves or tweezers ;)

    I did have a question on this upgrade. Where did you purchase the "zero degree film"? I am not able to find any on amazon, just some " Educational Physics" stuff.
    Not sure if this is the right stuff, I bought some of this and I can now see the motherboard in the background..
    Any links on where you got this film or does it even matter?
