When people wander over from their 40' 5th wheel to tell me my camper is small, I tell them "but here we are in the same place enjoying the same views".
Apparently some adults still look down their own trousers, and feel a need to overcompensate. I don’t have an RV, but I would rather talk to you instead of the comparison guy.
Very valid points for some people, but for those of us that love our tiny camper, WE LOVE OUR TINY CAMPER. I love the simplicity of our Rangerunner and what it offer us.
I just love your videos! Nancy, you made me laugh out loud when you said by the time you hit Skagway, you would have sold your whole rig for $100.😂😂😂I know EXACTLY how you felt! Back in 1993, my husband was assigned to Fort Wainwright, AK. We bought a popup camper in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (where I’m from), loaded our gear and our four-year-old daughter, grabbed an atlas and the 1993 Milepost Magazine and hit the road. After a week and a half of rain, mosquitoes, and having to start looking for available campground spaces at around 4:00PM (and sometimes having to keep driving until 11:30PM until we found one…no cellphones or internet in those days….) we got to the city of Whitehorse in the Yukon, and I realized we still had ONE THOUSAND MILES to go. I threatened my husband that I was going to sell the car and camper and buy us plane tickets for the rest of the journey!😂😂😂 We haven’t had a camper in a very long time, but we’re saving up for a Runaway for when my husband retires for the second time. I’ve watched many of your videos multiple times. Thank you for your honesty and humor!
Spot on. Pat guessed #1 before you said it . We get more positive comments but some people just don’t get it. 22 mpg with our car makes travel a lot more palatable. But, no more than 3 weeks with a few motel nights is the way we roll now.
Thank you for sharing the real! I bought my runaway the same year you bought yours. I didn't want an RV. When people ask me about my camper I always explain that " I'm camping". I want to be outside, smelling the air, seeing what's up. I'm just age " mature" so I like a few creature comforts. I live in Florida so camping in anything in fl without AC is a must. Also makes for a great guest room or a place for me when I give up my bed. It has been a blessing during a couple of hurricanes. On top have listened to people's comments about my little camper. It's paid for, I can pull it easily, it stows theft and rent free in my garage and stays ready to go. Keep doing what you big rigs do, we'll wave when we pass at the pump.
This is a great idea for a series. Thank you. For me I pick up my new CampInn 550 next month. From watching your channel and others I decided that a tiny camper works for me. But I guess I won’t know for sure until I actually do it. I currently just use my ARB awning/screen room and it’s been fine, but the 550 I hope will be a nice upgrade. 😀
I think there is a small element of the runaway feeling a little like a fort/treehouse for me? It fits in garage, easy to tow, easier to park, and is affordable. Nuff said. I love the idea of the series but wish it were TEN things lol. Top 10 Must have gadgets, camp meals, upgrades to runaway, camp grounds, places to see, ways to meet other runawayers, emergency gear… I could go on an on because I love hearing from experts!
People that say stuff like that are jealous because your not buried in camper debt like they are. Your probably having more fun in life than they are. Happy camping.
Hit it on the head guys! Sometimes the negatives are positive. I like living in my Range Runner on the rim of the Grand Canyon in late Fall and Winter prior to my backpacking trips into the Canyon. It gets this transplanted southern Hoosier acclimated to altitude and temperature extremes before the Old Guy drops into the Canyon for several days. 🥶
In regards to number 2 about NOT being able to have guest; I jokingly have an industrial sign in my runaway that reads, "Maximum Occupancy" that reads, " 1 " LOL
We just sold our 22’ Class A motorhome, now we want a Runaway tiny camper. Less is MORE. We’ll pull it with a short bed Chevy truck with a camper shell, if it won’t fit in the shell… we don’t need it. Getting there is half the fun, CAMPING is the other half. Being unpretentious is good. Minimalism is good IMO. Really like your videos, and after watching a few I think we’re going to buy a brand new one if we can’t find a clean preowned one. Can’t wait to get 18 mpg again. 😀💥💣
To me the point of camping is to be outside! It’s nice to have something with solid sides to feel safe to sleep in at night. Luckily my tiny camper is 66 inches tall and 5x8 so I can stand up at least. I love tiny camping.
Nice video. We are retired, bought a 40-foot Class A motorhome 2 years ago. I'm about done with it. I've looked at Runaway trailers and I'm more than ready to sell the motorhome and buy a trailer. I really think they are cool and you can do alot with them and go almost anywhere with them. Take care.....
I loved my Cool Camp. It was the right size for me. My back issues are what caused me to sell it. It was the hooking up that was too much for me. I plan on continuing on and camping in a minivan.
After 3 years with our Runaway, we did hit one week of freezing temps and cold rain. That was the week I decided I was ready to upgrade to something with enclosed kitchen and ability to stand up. Hopefully we will have it by next week. But it’s totally fun when the weather is good.
Yes, I don’t think it’s a bad thing if your needs change we have had the same thoughts ourselves and we have had ours for 7 years. We have decided to stay tiny for now.
I appreciate your input. I’m considering buying one for myself so I can go camping and visit different places. I have a small vehicle so I have to be able to tow it and there are two that I’m looking at…the Runaway and the Campinn. Both are towable with my car. It’s been encouraging to get feedback from individuals who have the same vehicle I have and they’ve had no issues with towing their little campers. I think the only issue I have is what setup to use for a toilet if there’s not one available at a campground or during the night.
You guys are so great. Love your attitude about smaller campers. I don't give a RIP either when it comes to peoples comments on how I live (tiny) or any other factor in my life. Even though camping is not in my future, I still love to watch your UTube adventures plus seeing Herky. God speed tiny campers!
I've watched your other video "why to buy," and on this one I'd also like to leave a comment ( or two). A few years back my wife wanted to start camping again ( I don't care for camping) and she wanted to get a teardrop, so looked on TH-cam about them ( which lead me to your channel). found all the DIY vids and told her when I retired (last year) I would build her one, we all know what happened the last couple of years. My biggest problem with these is you can't stand up in teardrops/square drops and she has a bad knee so crawling in would also be a problem. My other problem is I'd have to drive to Florida or order and pick up in Oklahoma (RV dealer) Ended up going on craigslist and bought a '94 Coleman popup cheap, it is the 8' box model ( light weight bare bones) and we got to stay debt free ( and she can camp more often). And yes I know we can't boondock at Wally world or any of those other places, but she camps closer to home, so no big deal on that. The Runaways are a great bargain, they just didn't fill our needs, but anyone reading this that wants to get off the ground tent camping, I say go for it.
Hello Barbara & Dennis, You nailed it with your point of view, "Are you camping or (glamping) rv'ing. Those glampers can't get to remote/dispersed camp sites!!
I agree with your top 5!! I think also when the weather is bad, the last thing I want to do is walk to the bathroom and not having a shower at times can be a drag!! Nancy, Miguel laughed so hard at your comment, “ the bathroom is downstairs “!! 😂 Good one!! Ed, Happy Fathers Day!!!
I'm going to build my own 'runaway' type of trailer, and make it slightly longer, for a little bathroom and kitchen area. It's easily doable, and wouldn't look too much larger outside.
Live in Tampa area but "camp" in Smoky Mountain areas of NE GA, SE TN, NW NC. We bought a used 2018 InTech Pursue camper, weighs less than 1600 lbs, all aluminum, insulated, with rooftop AC/Heat & Maxxair fan several years ago for $10K - got tired of sleeping in a tent. Because the InTech is built similar to a utility trailer, we have double doors that open on the back of the camper where we added a IronMan tent room that connects to the rear of the trailer and provides the ability to stand-up with plenty of room - makes all the difference in the world to our base camp set-up. EZ to pull and stores in our garage at home. Proud to Keep It Simple!
I have the smaller Cool Camp and just took a 2 month tour of western states. And I totally agree with you. I didn't have folks talking down about it tho. For me it was the opposite. Everyone was intrigued and positive. But, I would like to have something larger where you would have standing room and a small table for getting ready for the day. I'm glad I ran across your channel and just subscribed. Thumbs up 👍
Great list. I think some people buy these tiny campers because they are cute. Then they realize that cute doesn’t fit their needs. I love my Coolcamp and it’s perfect for me but they aren’t for everyone.
Ed and Nancy good video. I appreciate your experience. Valid points that people need to consider before rushing into these small campers. One I might add is there is a closeness with each other that you can’t escape especially in bad weather. Not for everyone. Looking forward to seeing you in July.
I have a 5th wheel I absolutely love for long term visits where I’m almost using it as my temporary home. I am currently looking at SUV camping or a tiny camper to do more road trips where I don’t want to set up the big one just for a night or two. Thanks for the info.
Bought a new Cool Camp in 2018. Has over 50k miles and has been to 45 states. Pulled it with my 2016 Mazda Miata until this year. Pulling it with a 2023 Jeep Compass now and getting 24 to 26 MPG. Because of it’s size a lot of campgrounds will allow me to stay in a tent site. That’s a lot less expense as well.
Okay....regarding claustraphic....you both have a point. Some of those teardrops do look to me like just big coffins, but there are a few (like the Runaway and Hiker, that seem like they might be a bit roomier. All I want is something where I can feel safe but not constricted. I've heard that certain parks won't allow cloth side camping (tents/popups) due to bear activity. At my age, I need air conditioning.
Hey thanks for the info. Personally, I don't like guests, so that would not be an issue...and what the heck are you doing camping in the north during the winter?? We are on wheels...It's camping in the southern states for the winter months, and camping in the north for the summer months. :) Thanks again.
Had my 4x8 cool camp for 4 years and being a minimalist it’s perfect for me and wife. We also have a camper ( Luna Rover), which is a bit larger teardrop with kitchen outside in back. Honestly I prefer the smaller one.
@@Hanginwithherky believe it or not we traded our Sol (by intech) for the Luna. We felt it was to big and kinda of hassle. What with winterizing ect. We never used the shower or toilet any how.
I like ur thinking don’t worry what the one uppers think,I have had tentcampers and trailers and also motor homes but my favorite is the run away , because that’s what I like thank you for information ❤❤❤❤❤ I love camping not rving if I’m am going to resort I’m staying home thank u ! .
I had nothing but positive comments about my Runaway Range Rover. We had to park next to the semis at rest stops, and I had positive comments from the drivers. The only strange experience was parking next to a motor home, and as the lady who owned it walked by, she seemed to make a point of not looking in our direction! 😀
My favorite people. Very helpful before my purchase of a Runaway Cool Camp in 2022 spring. Perfect for me and at 5'5" I only have to bow my head standing. Everyone and places I have stopped have asked me the same questions. It made lots of new neighbor friends by them stopping to ask questions at my new house location. Popup and slide out is the most quetions. The locking doors and the air conditioner got thumbs up. The worst thing that happened was the hellatious rainstorm that turned my porch light on an off. Took that off the double sided loop tape for sure.
I was recently at a campground up north, and for most of our time there it drizzled and rained. Temperatures at night were in the 40s, and daytime wasn't much warmer. However, our site was next to the tent camping area. There were four tents there, and they toughed it out for three nights. Boy did I feel sorry for them!
I had a neighbor come over after I pulled into my driveway and ask me what the square footage of my tiny trailer was. Obviously, I had bought a bed on wheels, and it was only made for that, and it had a chassis for 4x4 and nothing else. I looked long and hard at my tiny rig and said, "Fitting the swimming pool and tennis court was tough, but they did it". With that the guy went back home.
I love you guy, I love your tiny camper too. Wonder how often the guy in the giant motorhome sleeps in a coffin😂 Mark doesn’t know how to put things back either
I built my bed with plenty of storage space, but discovered I couldn't sit up straight. So now I have to redesign the bed and find a compromise between headroom and storage. Not an easy task. I keep thinking I should have considered buying a Rouser!
At first we slept with the mattress on the floor. When it rained we would be inside laying down. That got old so I put a 30” bed, cut the legs down just enough I could still slide a tote under it. I added a plywood slider so the bed expands the whole width of the camper so we both can sleep comfortably. Push the slider in and we have a sofa. Now just let it rain, we can sit up and play cards or a board game. I would like to add a back door. I would come in so handy.
I found a big empty parking lot in a local park and back up over and over again until I got it right. Videos on TH-cam offered good advice. My car has a backup camera, so that's a big help. It has guide lines that help me see which way the car will head when I turn the wheel.
I got my runaway to sleep comfortably over using a tent. If I’d want to bring my whole house with me I’d just stay home haha. Feel like RVs and bigger trailers take away from the whole outdoor experience. That’s just me though.
Love your comment "downstairs." 😂🤣 A consideration for a tiny camper is you will have to make decisions about the interior. How to set it up. Some people don't want a project from scratch.
I want the 4 by 8 off road runaway camper to tow with a jeep and my camper is going inside a tent ⛺️ ? Thanks for sharing, I found your video most enjoyable 😉
I myself did not know anyone that had a small camper I had been looking at them for 5 years Just before I retired runaway camper’s popped up and I just loved it Yea folks laughed but then realized that this camper had plenty of space. Folks still stop and ask me about it. I see so many people living out of their cars because they have lost everything. Well my home is payed for I have a bed to sleep 😴 in I have food to eat I love my rouser I can have company if they can sleep under my bed 😂 I hope to start traveling again but if I cannot well that’s ok too I am happy LOVE MY ROUSER
Hey they are all good reasons not to buy tiny campers but I'm soo tired of a tent! So thumb your nose at the big rvs and figure out other ways to camp and have fun.
Good video now I am scared I just spent a year building a teardrop and will be traveling from Oregon to Michigan in it with our beagle 😂 I think it will be fine though. I made a big tongue storage box and have a large screen house. I think it would be boring to camp too long in one spot anyway & that is why it appealed to me. We’ll find out if what you say is true.
I been tossing an ideal of comfort vs freedom to travel and camp off grid much as I can and choose freedom. No camper van, no off road camper trailer. I had someone installed two platforms and I got a solar generator and a freezer/ refrigerator. Although I still thinking of possible of getting a tiny off road camper vs 4x4 van( so I can stand up). I don’t think I’m poor according to median US household income😅
We are looking forward to your series! We just got home from our first camping trip this year. This is our fourth camping season with our Runaway. We are former tent campers and the thing we love the most about camping in the Runaway is it allows us to enjoy the things we loved about tent camping (being outside, cooking outside) without the things we didn't love (sleeping on the ground, sleeping in a hot tent, having to pack and unpack everything every trip). We have a list of the top 5 things we have learned from Ed and Nancy (or "The Herkys" as we refer to you) 5. Runaway maintenance and upkeep 4. Attaching an old license plate to the back of your camper license plate for reinforcement. 3. Use shower curtain hooks for extra "hanging" space in the shower 2. Propane fire ring to warm up the ez-up and just to use when we don't want to mess with wood. And hands down, number 1. PUPPY PADS!! Oh my gosh, I can't believe what a game changer this is in the shower house!! And our bonus item - Indiana has a lot of cool towns and state parks. Thank you for taking the time to make videos. We have learned so much that has improved our camping experience!
I converted a 6x12 cargo trailer so I can camp with my dirtbike. I get the same things from the toyhauler crowd. I love it when they walk up at gas stations and want to get their digs in. I have $18k invested and did the work myself. No leaks, no systems to fail, better appliances, better TV, better HVAC. I’m not poor, I just chose not to spend $50k on mass-produced junk.
People don't look down on smaller campers around here. ( smoky mountains ) Gas prices and inflation is making teardrop and similar camper sales sky rocket. If your a campground with hookups type person then a traditional travel trailer might be better. Over lander type camper then teardrop all the way. To get into those tight off grid camping spots.
I think the inside should be 60" high. That would give you room to sit in a chair and on a potty easier. A Trelino Composting Toilet that does not use water and acts as a seat is nice. When done #2 can be throwned in a trash can and #1 dumped in the toilet. I would also like to see Runaway folks use aluminun frames. It would save weight and not rust as bad.
Runaway does have a stand up model called the Rouser. A lot of folks that start out with the smaller models upgrade to the Rouser mainly to have the ability to stand up.
@@Hanginwithherky Just let the air out of the tires and roll it in, then put the air back in the tires once in the garage. I have seen TH-cam videos where people have done this on large campers to clear the air conditioner.
I can't wait, until I buy my off road runaway camper. And, I get to meet you two . You two are so beautiful inside and out. Lol with you..What would be the adventure going down the road 🤣 in a half million dollar camper. I think 🤔 camping 🏕 is never knowing the unexpected adventures ? I think 🤔 I'll love runaway rallies. Cause, it doesn't matter, Who's rich ..We will all look the same ? But , the little campers will show the great imaginations of all the different designs of creative ideas 💡 and ,making someone smile 😃 THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEOS. 👏 👍 I'VE ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT........P.S 😉 AND IF I HAPPEN TO RUN INTO ANY RICH PEOPLE, I'LL BE SURE TO TELLEM ... I THINK 🤔 THAT LITTLE TINY CAMPING 🏕 TRAILER BELONGS TO THE JONES FAMILY ? 👪 😄
One of your reasons that to me isn't a reason, "some Karen transversed a parking lot to criticize you for a small camper", that person can pound sand. Looking forward to the 5 reasons to buy a small camper.👍
The point was if you are not secure in being out of step with the bigger is better folks you may not like a tiny camper. Sounds like you are secure in that
I dont buy a trailer to stay inside. Yes, it is inconvenient when it rains or snows and maybe a little mosquito/insect. Other than that, it is wonderful.
I just want a place to sleep, I dont want to pay high price for a motel and then hand them over a 100 dollar deposit on top. Then only get eighty back. So good bye Baymont. 73
The only reason I want a small camper is for travel yes I would camp and use the outdoors until I want to wind down. I think I will keep a portable toilet and not use it. Some won't let you stay if you don't have a bathroom so my camper has a toilet. I will use facilities and skip the black water. 73
“You know what will suffocate you? Payments on a new RV.” 😂😂😂😂 Dave would be proud
Dave would be proud for sure! Living like no one else

Thumbs up 👍
Thanks for joining us. I can tell you most of the responses are positive but occasionally you run into that guy.
God Bless you guys, your awesome. 🎉 Hoping to purchase a 6×8 Rangerunner.
Good choice!
Absolutely right. You have to look at it as a step up from tent camping.
That said, my 4 person tent (which I used for two people) has more space! 😀
Great list. I think some people buy these tiny campers because they are cute. Then they realize that cute doesn’t fit their needs. I love my Coolcamp and it’s perfect for me but they aren’t for everyone.
Agreed ! It’s camping not RVing
Ed and Nancy good video. I appreciate your experience. Valid points that people need to consider before rushing into these small campers. One I might add is there is a closeness with each other that you can’t escape especially in bad weather. Not for everyone. Looking forward to seeing you in July.
Well said!
I have a 5th wheel I absolutely love for long term visits where I’m almost using it as my temporary home. I am currently looking at SUV camping or a tiny camper to do more road trips where I don’t want to set up the big one just for a night or two. Thanks for the info.
Good choice!
We have found some are willing to let you stay in a tent site. Sounds like you are making good use of your runaway
Happy Fathers Day, Ed. Your section about putting things back where you got them from got me a dirty look from Ellen. Lol
Nancy got a good chuckle out of this comment.
Yes we ran into hard side only campgrounds in Canada
Hey thanks for the info. Personally, I don't like guests, so that would not be an issue...and what the heck are you doing camping in the north during the winter?? We are on wheels...It's camping in the southern states for the winter months, and camping in the north for the summer months. :) Thanks again.
Winter camping is especially peaceful when the snow is on the ground it’s amazing. With that said it only nice for one nite after that not so much :)
Had my 4x8 cool camp for 4 years and being a minimalist it’s perfect for me and wife. We also have a camper ( Luna Rover), which is a bit larger teardrop with kitchen outside in back. Honestly I prefer the smaller one.
Luna is a nice rig we really like them
@@Hanginwithherky believe it or not we traded our Sol (by intech) for the Luna. We felt it was to big and kinda of hassle. What with winterizing ect. We never used the shower or toilet any how.
I like ur thinking don’t worry what the one uppers think,I have had tentcampers and trailers and also motor homes but my favorite is the run away , because that’s what I like thank you for information ❤❤❤❤❤ I love camping not rving if I’m am going to resort I’m staying home thank u ! .
Thanks for sharing!
My thoughts exactly. I too have owned about every kind made but cool camp is right at the top. It goes anywhere
@@fritty9927 thank you ?
I had nothing but positive comments about my Runaway Range Rover.
We had to park next to the semis at rest stops, and I had positive comments from the drivers.
The only strange experience was parking next to a motor home, and as the lady who owned it walked by, she seemed to make a point of not looking in our direction! 😀
Positive next week
Your list is right on the button! Happy Fathers Day Ed!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for joining the channel and the kind words. You make some great points
Do RV parks ever refuse to let to stay?
We have never had that experience but we have never attempted to stay at a high end rv resort
Great idea! I'm looking forward to this new series.
Awesome, thank you!
@@spike1670 More like hot coffee! 😀
If I had it. 😊
Thanks funny
I love you guy, I love your tiny camper too. Wonder how often the guy in the giant motorhome sleeps in a coffin😂 Mark doesn’t know how to put things back either
Good point 😂
Great video we are in the decision faze on a tiny camper your version was very informative
Glad it was helpful!
I like your runaway! I want to get one soon. I Hope I dont have to wait too long. 73
Perfect 👍
I built my bed with plenty of storage space, but discovered I couldn't sit up straight. So now I have to redesign the bed and find a compromise between headroom and storage. Not an easy task. I keep thinking I should have considered buying a Rouser!
Everything is a compromise taller camper is more wind drag.
@@Hanginwithherky True 😊
You guys gave us or me food for thought!
Glad we were able to help
At first we slept with the mattress on the floor. When it rained we would be inside laying down. That got old so I put a 30” bed, cut the legs down just enough I could still slide a tote under it. I added a plywood slider so the bed expands the whole width of the camper so we both can sleep comfortably. Push the slider in and we have a sofa. Now just let it rain, we can sit up and play cards or a board game. I would like to add a back door. I would come in so handy.
Nice layout.
I just bought a use navigator. Full bed, which I cut down to a 28 w x 60 in”. Love it so far. Still can’t back up to park. Thank you for this video.
Hang in there you will get the hang of it.
I found a big empty parking lot in a local park and back up over and over again until I got it right.
Videos on TH-cam offered good advice.
My car has a backup camera, so that's a big help. It has guide lines that help me see which way the car will head when I turn the wheel.
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
I see hiking poles behind you. Where do you buy those?
Silver dollar city Branson Missouri
I got my runaway to sleep comfortably over using a tent. If I’d want to bring my whole house with me I’d just stay home haha. Feel like RVs and bigger trailers take away from the whole outdoor experience. That’s just me though.
We enjoy ours
People look down on you... Literally! 😀
Good to see you again. 😊
You too!
Love your comment "downstairs." 😂🤣 A consideration for a tiny camper is you will have to make decisions about the interior. How to set it up. Some people don't want a project from scratch.
Yes this is true
What a great couple
Thanks so much
my family used to go to the red coconut, haha, We had a lot of great memories their.
Fun memories we miss that place
Where did you get the hiking poles in the video?
Silver Dollar City in Branson Mo
The bathroom is down stairs!!!😂😂😂
I want the 4 by 8 off road runaway camper to tow with a jeep and my camper is going inside a tent ⛺️ ?
Thanks for sharing, I found your video most enjoyable 😉
Thanks for watching
Good points to consider before buying…Wow…some people are rude, curious or ignorant! To each their own 👀🎉😍🤗
Perhaps they engage their mouth before their brain.
Good to hear from you see you again sometime
I just bought a Range Runner!! I can't wait!😊
Have fun!
Nice to hear truth. I’m enjoying your videos.
We love our camper but these are real ! Thanks for watching
Great concept!! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Agree completely. Love the little campers, though ours is a little bigger RPod. Enjoy.
Thanks
Hey they are all good reasons not to buy tiny campers but I'm soo tired of a tent! So thumb your nose at the big rvs and figure out other ways to camp and have fun.
Stay tuned for next weeks 5 reasons to buy a tiny camper
#6. Good observation.
Thanks
I agree with your list. Loved the video
Glad you enjoyed!
Glad you had good retorts to put those "designer purse mentality" folks in their mean-people, pretentious "places."
Happy Father's Day, Ed!
Thanks
You guys are great.
Well thanks !
Im an avid tent camper overlander. Im getting an overland trailer. And those big rigs cant go to half the places we can.
Good video now I am scared I just spent a year building a teardrop and will be traveling from Oregon to Michigan in it with our beagle 😂
I think it will be fine though. I made a big tongue storage box and have a large screen house. I think it would be boring to camp too long in one spot anyway & that is why it appealed to me.
We’ll find out if what you say is true.
We never stay over three days in one spot. We are more roadtrippers than campers. Wishing you the best
I like staying for short durations. I get antsy and then bored after all the hiking etc. Seen that did that , move on!
You make good points
Great video.
Thanks! 😊
Glad you liked it!
If people ask about your tiny camper, tell them it's Herkey's private quarters!
Someone actually ask us that one time
I will join the runaway family I will Camp not RV😅thanks always Happy Trails God Speed Traveling mercies PTL
Adventures ahead
We changed to a Rustic trail Grizzly because of two of your reasons. ,😁Bad weather and can't stand up. Most people still think it a tiny camper.
Great meeting you
We are looking forward to your series!
Wow what a nice comment this makes are heart happy.
I also have a Runaway camper.
The most common question I've had is, "does it pop up?" 😀
I converted a 6x12 cargo trailer so I can camp with my dirtbike.
Sounds cool I would love to do a build like that someday to pull behind my 1999 Astro. Thanks for the feedback
Actually, now that I think of it, I have a childhood friend who _could_ stand up in it! 😀
He's a "little person" about 3 1/2' tall. 😊
Good point
I think the inside should be 60" high. That would give you room to sit in a chair and on a potty easier. A Trelino Composting Toilet that does not use water and acts as a seat is nice. When done #2 can be throwned in a trash can and #1 dumped in the toilet. I would also like to see Runaway folks use aluminun frames. It would save weight and not rust as bad.
Runaway does have a stand up model called the Rouser. A lot of folks that start out with the smaller models upgrade to the Rouser mainly to have the ability to stand up.
We have to consider what can clear our garage door
@@Hanginwithherky Just let the air out of the tires and roll it in, then put the air back in the tires once in the garage. I have seen TH-cam videos where people have done this on large campers to clear the air conditioner.
Yup. It's not RVing. 😊
“The bathroom is downstairs”. 😂😂😂
Great folks in Runaway hope you get to join us someday. Thanks for the kind words
So what if I were poor? How is that a problem for anyone else?
We are just pointing out comments we have received when you have a small camper.
Sounds like you are secure in that
First time seeing you. Subscribed. Got a good woman to marry me to! Congrats buddy.
Thanks for joining us on the adventure
You are exactly right. Who can afford a huge class A gas guzzler?
It’s just out of reach financially for us at this time. If it were to change we would like a class b instead
I enjoyed your five things discussion and look forward to more in the future.
More to come
I dont buy a trailer to stay inside. Yes, it is inconvenient when it rains or snows and maybe a little mosquito/insect. Other than that, it is wonderful.
Agreed but the Arctic took mosquitoes to a level we had never experienced :)
A bigger family is why we don’t have a tiny camper. We have been discussing building a tiny camper for when there is just two of us at a time camping
Some day
I just want a place to sleep, I dont want to pay high price for a motel and then hand them over a 100 dollar deposit on top.
Thanks for watching
# 1 problem with a tiny camper.
It's tiny! 😀
True
Ahhh, the new age of Karens and Kevins.
