I just bought a used Runaway Cool Camp two weeks ago and I'm in the process of redoing the inside to be pretty cute. :) It's on my channel if you want to follow along. I have a 12" high porta potty and wouldn't camp without it! I definitely use it.
A lot of the old people don't realize that your crawling around on your hands and knees inside that box . Father has one and complains about this all the time and he's only 56 . I suggested knee pads and he told me to mind my own business !
What kind of TV antenna do you have that it works that well from behind walls? I have experimented with them in my house and the performance doubles when you get it outside. I have tried the flush mount type and one that looks like an airplane wing. That one needs to be aimed at towers to work well, and aimed through a window. I'd like to find something better. I don't hot the road much and when I want to see A&E or a cable channel like that I can use data to do it, but there are 2-3 network TV shows I like to watch, and my cable provider's app doesn't give me locals if I am not on their network. More experimenting to do before my first post Covid road trip. I bought my trailer in July 2019 and because of a knee replacement and dog situations, now Covid, I have yet to be able to get away in it.
Hello Dr. Beth, I had Jim bring my camper out of the barn to have my little stay at home vacation with the camper. I was wondering what kind of hitch you have. The SUV should be good for pulling. We had a Reese hitch when we had a 17 foot camper and pulled with the SUV. 💕 NonnaGrace
I've been researching these small campers and im STILL shocked at the prices. The *base price* of this camper is $6,000. Thats ridiculous for basically a box with wheels.
@@Drbethturtlewoman Not just a table but also missing every other amenity most larger campers have at a fraction of the cost in scale. Like say an 18'Jayco trailer with 30amp shore power, fresh/grey/black reservoirs, a bath, a kitchen, a dinette at just $16k. Seriously, if you look at how little materials and labor are involved in a teardrop by comparison, it doesnt make sense to cost that much. I could see if they crammed all those amenities into a teardrop cleverly like a swiss army knife with *premium* lightweight materials but they use the same stuff. Aluminum, wood, fiberglass, rubber steel etc.
Vinny says , yes you can run that little air conditioner ! Go out and buy a small 2,000 watt generator . Their worth the money . Nobody should be out there without a gen set .
Thanks for this helpful video! We love our Runaway Camper and travel in it full-time right now!
This is the sweetest video on YT and you have gained a sub. I am obsessed w/ u Dr Beth
I bought an adjustable hitch from Menards. You can raise or lower the ball to make the camper pull level.
thank you
i really like the versatility of the CoolCamp and the RangeRunner great choice
you can also go up to a
15 on your tires for height

Thanks for the pros AND cons of the Runaway. Happy Travels, even if it's just to your back 40!

I need to get a new one that can be raised up. My husband says those kind are harder to find.
Thanks for sharing. Looking for a starter camper great insight.
I’ve been researching these Runaways and the Hiker Trailers. How much has your camper impacted your miles per gallon?
I will put up a new video soon to answer your questions
I'm interested in buying a Runaway contact me if you decide to sell. I am planning order a new one very soon but would be interested in your camper.
