Your research for a camper is almost identical to mine several years ago. Your criteria is the same except my price tag was lower. I looked at the same campers as you did. I just wanted a hard sided tent on wheels small enough to force me outside where camping is supposed to be. Being in Texas it had to have A/C. I decided on the Runaway CoolCamp. It fit all my needs and the garage. I have not regretted that decision. I wanted something to protect me from the elements, no setup/takedown, just hook up and go. Runaway has regional groups that have camping get togethers. I've been to some for my region and the members are so nice. My CoolCamp has been to Yellowstone, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and several places here in Texas. It's just right for me. If I could only back it up!!
@@larrydraper4451 lol awesome! I getting better at it. And it tows really good!! Thanks for watching!!
You can't beat a runaway. It's a blank canvas trailer with just the bare minimum of essentials. I managed to install a plastic RV toilet w/water-pump, PVC sink, and PVC shower, with a bunk bed in the back!!! It's amazing what you can do with these!! They used to cost almost nothing too awhile back before the inflation thing started happening around the world! You're lucky you got one just in time before they became unaffordable lol :P
@@AlFonso-p6p wow that sounds like a bunch of cool mods you did. Hey thanks for watching and sharing!
You forgot to check the Intech Flyer Pursue or Chase. Got a loaded Pursue for cheaper than a Venturist. Not saying it’s better, for sure different but the Intech don’t cost anywhere near their MSRP right now. Nice camper!
@@IronJoe I liked them too!
When I was ready to buy a camper, Runaway wasn't ready to sell. There were long wait times, FL is a long way off for me, and I knew I didn't have the skill to make a lot of mods. I, too, decided Bean was way too expensive, and again the distance was crazy. Like you, I really liked the Intech Luna. I went to look at one but was disappointed to see that, given the location of most of the controls, it would not be impossible for my little blind special needs dog who explores everything with her nose to turn things on and off in the camper, if left to her own devices. That is when I saw the InTech Pursue, and it was love at first sight. It was lighter and less expensive than the Luna--and it was available at a time when few others were. I wasn't crazy about the carpeted walls at first blush, but I have learned they are a wonderful thing to have.
@@cherylbarrett3443 yes! I looked into a Pursue as well and really liked them. Glad you found one that’s perfect for you and your dog! Thanks for watching!!!
Great info, I have an overlanding trailer. It is basically a 5 x 10 utility trailer with a ramp and a cage above with a roof top tent on it. I have been considerinug a small trailer too and our criteria's match almost exaclty with the exception of how to haul my quad. I like my roof top tent, but sometimes miss the comfort of hard walls. So far it is paid for and does the job, but I am always on the look for a small camper that I can pull with my Jeep Wrangler. Nice job on this video. Oh BTW Hello from Arizona.
@@azxp thank you for watching. I was thinking of getting a rooftop tent in case my older daughter wants to go camping but settled on a truck tent. Is it hard to maintain? It was a tough decision an boiled down to location and price! lol thanks for sharing.
@@RunawayWithTaberland They are not hard to maintain, but they do take some research. Not all rooftop tents are the same. I actually chose a roam because of two reasons, one the fabric is more like canvas and it is also dark so in the morning it stays dark inside. It has plenty fo windows and skylights for more light if you want, but a lot of the other tents are a 600D ripstop. Which isn't bad but lets a lot of light in. The only maintanence is if you get stuck out in the rain, make sure when you get home to open them back up and let them dry well. Also being in Florida which I imagine is like Arizona sunny and hot you probably don't want to store it outside all summer that might be a deal breaker as they are kind of heavy to move around. Other than that I really do like it. It is kind of fun camping in a place where your rig is kind of rare. Click my avatar and check out my videos. I have an older roof top tent trailer you can check out to get and idea, but I don't have that one anymore. I actually have a new one and will have some new videos with the new trailer (with the new Roam tent) coming soon, so you might want to subscribe to my channel if that interests you. Sorry for the long winded response.
@@azxp awesome! Thank you for all the knowledge
