Ya done good! Those Runaways and Hikers are about the best values in a good quality camper out there. The Runaway gatherings and huge variety of mods people show are almost worth it by themselves.

Cool video. It's now Starting at $7,645 with 8 months wait time. I paid $6,500 for a "brand new" used one last month from a seller that never took it camping at all after they got it delivered. There is no longer have a California location. The newer ones are made of strong plastic and fiberglass to avoid wood rot over time. I wish the previous owner opted for the rear door, but as you said, they go fast if they are on marketplace.

Possibly others have given you this tip, but backing a trailer is made much easier if you position your hands on the bottom of your steering wheel. That way, when you turn left or right, the trailer turns the same direction. No need to constantly think in the opposite direction. 😎

Hello from West Virginia. My wife Jody and I are really excited to be getting a Range Runner to pull with our 2015 Jeep Patriot. I have some questions that I hope you can help us with since you have the same tow vehicle we do. The main concern is how much does your Range Roamer weigh when you have it fully loaded and how does your Patriot perform when pulling it fully loaded. Our camper will be outfitted with an off grid solar power system as well as some other creature comforts to support our Amateur Radio Hobby, specifically our interest in a thing called Parks On The Air. Jody and I think the Range Runner / Patriot will work well for us and you guys have the closest setup that we are planning and any guidance you can give us would be appreciated. Happy Travels!
please check out our recent video, tiny camper setup. we show you our cargo load & what we usually pack with us. the jeep performs great, we have driven the camper 1000s of miles and haven't had an issue towing. we usually go slow, about 60-65, 70 at most and on occasion. Been looking at the size/brand of camper for awhile. Do y’all sleep side to side? Is it comfortable? How tall are you if ya don’t mind me asking. I’m 5’8” and my wife is about 5’3”.
We sleep side-by-side on a 10 inch memory foam queen size bed. We had to cut 6 inches off of it height-wise to make it fit perfectly in the camper. We are both 5’8’’. I think you can see in this thumbnail picture that the bed goes with wine in the camper and it actually works absolutely perfectly for us! If we were any taller, it might not.
I bought a hiker 5x8.to tow with my 2015 Patriot. What size is your runway? What bed ideas do you have? I'm kinda torn on this idea. Also fo you have 2 doors?
Our Runaway is 6x8. We upgraded to a 10 inch queen size memory foam mattress and cut off 10 inches of length so it will fit. Then we use the cut off portion as a back rest. It’s perfect! Yes, 2 doors.

My friend and I went to Fort Desoto a couple of couple of days ago have a great time was a lot of work though. Fire was constantly going wish I could show you some pictures and I made the best food I'll be back I don't even care if I go by myself it's just good to get away

The water damage that we saw was already there when we purchased it used. We’re honestly not sure exactly how it happened, so we got our camper resealed.
occassionallly! that's the nice part about towing something so light. if you're in a pickle, you can just manually move it around. but we rarely had to do that!
When backing up the camper, put your hand on the BOTTOM of the steering wheel then move your hand in the direction you want the camper to go when looking in the mirror :) If you look in the mirror & you want the camper to steer to the drivers side, with hand at the bottom of the steering wheel, move you hand to the drivers side & the camper will follow.
Right!!!! I was so disappointed when I saw that a Jeep Patriot could only pull 1000. But saying this 2 months later, and many rides, it pulls the rangerunner like a champ
@@honeyiroam - oh well that's good. I think tow ratings may possibly also have a generic amount of wind resistance factored into their weights & if you really don't have any wind resistance like with runaways & small teardrop then it's ok to go over. Going for long periods up certain gradients with that max weight would probably be factored into it as well so people in general would be wise to stick under the rating while still in warranty.

When you took it to the factiry they should have checked for leaks under the camper and recaulked the inside. I would rather not have baseboards until I knew there were no leaks. If i decide to buy new i will ask questions and want to inspect progress through the build. I believe they are a repital company but hired workers can ruin it for the company, if shotty work being done. 73

As we move forward in our camping and amateur radio operations we will be posting more videos. Today we pitched our old tent and decided the mini camper will be a better fit for us. Been looking at the size/brand of camper for awhile. Do y’all sleep side to side? Is it comfortable? How tall are you if ya don’t mind me asking. I’m 5’8” and my wife is about 5’3”.
We sleep side-by-side on a 10 inch memory foam queen size bed. We had to cut 6 inches off of it height-wise to make it fit perfectly in the camper. We are both 5’8’’. I think you can see in this thumbnail picture that the bed goes with wine in the camper and it actually works absolutely perfectly for us! If we were any taller, it might not.
I bought a hiker 5x8.to tow with my 2015 Patriot. What size is your runway? What bed ideas do you have? I'm kinda torn on this idea. Also fo you have 2 doors?
Our Runaway is 6x8. We upgraded to a 10 inch queen size memory foam mattress and cut off 10 inches of length so it will fit. Then we use the cut off portion as a back rest. It’s perfect! Yes, 2 doors.

My friend and I went to Fort Desoto a couple of couple of days ago have a great time was a lot of work though. Fire was constantly going wish I could show you some pictures and I made the best food I'll be back I don't even care if I go by myself it's just good to get away

How did it get all the water damage, I was ready to buy one, now I’m kinda concerned about the water damage problems you had to fix.
The water damage that we saw was already there when we purchased it used. We’re honestly not sure exactly how it happened, so we got our camper resealed.
Didn't d you ever have to manually move your runaway? If so how did you do it
occassionallly! that's the nice part about towing something so light. if you're in a pickle, you can just manually move it around. but we rarely had to do that!

You have water leaking/ incursion around your AC unit. Deal with that quickly even if you have to go back to Runaway. But maybe you saw that.
yes thank you for noticing! We had that all caulked and have tested run the a/c for a month with no more issues. appreciate it

hi there! unfortunately, all campers have the potential to leak. we have learned this the hard way! that's why routine maintenance is key!

When backing up the camper, put your hand on the BOTTOM of the steering wheel then move your hand in the direction you want the camper to go when looking in the mirror :)
If you look in the mirror & you want the camper to steer to the drivers side, with hand at the bottom of the steering wheel, move you hand to the drivers side & the camper will follow.

Right!!!! I was so disappointed when I saw that a Jeep Patriot could only pull 1000. But saying this 2 months later, and many rides, it pulls the rangerunner like a champ
@@honeyiroam - oh well that's good. I think tow ratings may possibly also have a generic amount of wind resistance factored into their weights & if you really don't have any wind resistance like with runaways & small teardrop then it's ok to go over. Going for long periods up certain gradients with that max weight would probably be factored into it as well so people in general would be wise to stick under the rating while still in warranty.

When you took it to the factiry they should have checked for leaks under the camper and recaulked the inside. I would rather not have baseboards until I knew there were no leaks. If i decide to buy new i will ask questions and want to inspect progress through the build. I believe they are a repital company but hired workers can ruin it for the company, if shotty work being done. 73
