Joe Pfau Onye Eme-Akwari hey, I'm trying out for the bluecoats tenorline for the 2015 season. Is there any chance I can get advice from either of you? You guys pretty much inspired me to try out for a corps.
I aged out of DCI wayyyy back in the 90s (snare) And Bluecoats has quickly become my favorite line to watch. That said, Bluecoats tenor line just didn't look 'right' without you in 2014
WOW!!! this drumline is awesome and I really have to give it for the bass line, the rhythm is so clean and fresh, I mean the whole line is but man, that bass line AWESOME
They have a great staff. Great staffs make great players every year. They will not be the same without Onye. Onye was the face of the past few years and an amazing quad drummer. But there will be new players that will forge their own identities and create new great lines. As long as they are up to the challenge.
I am Japanese. English may be a little strange...🙇♀️ I did marching for three years in junior high school and a little bit in my first year of college. I'm a horn player, not a percussionist. But of all marching instruments, I really love marching quad drums!🥰 Your videos make me very happy. I feel like I'm going up to heaven😌🫶
Their defiantly is a lot of hype, however i think they play the most musical book out of all the top 15 groups. Everything they play is just so tasty. plus they always have fun, they give off the vibe that they don't really care about winning, they just want to drum together.
My hope is that now that DCI has "allowed" someone new to be a champion, that they'll 'allow' a new drum champion as well. And these guys are certainly first in line. They came close last year. - 2007 Colts snareline ageout.
Drew only made the line better. I saw them warm up in June 26, 2011. Right after they were done with the opener segment. Drew harped on the rookies and even one of the 1 year vets. He made sure everything was in line. It's why a lot of people called him a tool in 2010 and 2011 because he was being the teachers pet. But it was more like he was doing it to get the line somewhere high.
Let's be honest. When Drew was on the line, Coats were either second or tieing for first in percussion. Sorry since he has left the line's intensity has gone down quiet a bit. But the same exact flow is still there.
In terms of scores, they're probably where they should be. They play cool stuff and they have a cool vibe but they're not as spotless and perfect as everyone likes to think they are.
Yes, but when he was on the line. The line was way more intense than this. When MAc was writting music for these guys, they were either second or teing. for first. And that's how it was up till like this year. Even in 2012 because that book was destorying.
I'm saying Drew did nothing to bring this line dine. He brought it up. and i'm just saying, since i've been studying this line since 07, the line was way more intense in the past. The flow is still there but the intensity as gone away.
arguably one of the best tenor lines EVER
This is probably my favorite book of 2013.
Tenors sound like one player!
wow. I miss this
Yeah man, especially after seeing all the photos from callbacks this weekend

Those first couple years after aging out are tough.
+tonythehawk7 see you at camps etc. this fall

I can't go a day without watching this
I personally LOVE the snares wet sound. Brings character to the line.
hands down one of my favorite lines to watch of all time... so much swag!
WOW!!! this drumline is awesome and I really have to give it for the bass line, the rhythm is so clean and fresh, I mean the whole line is but man, that bass line AWESOME
lmao this drumline is soooo underrated
i just dont understand how bluecoats have never won drums...
I don't either.
Cause you got people like Paul Rennick.
well...the one writing their material isn't helping.
I wouldn't say Rarrick is the brick in this situation.
Rarrick is the best writer currently writing in DCI. Casella is the best of all time tho
Thank you Bluecoats Drumlin 2013 for existing. and letting my ears, eyes, and mind have access to what percussion heaven is like.
I don't care what anyone says; that has GOT to be the best tenor section of this entire season.
In every lot video I see, there are always people just casually walking by, not batting an eye. How does someone just do that?
That opening tenor lick though
Can’t get enough of this
The most badass tenor section of all time.
hell yeah quads!
I love that guy at the end just just yells, "YAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" FREAKIN HILARIOUS

The first 30 seconds are prolly my favorite in all of DCI
Best drumline I've ever seen in my life >>> (Well, bluecoats 2012 AND 2013)
Never gets old
at the beginning, kid in the green shirt behind the tenors goes from a smile, to a WTFWTF, to laugh out of pure disbelief

Shout out to the guy casually rolling by on a scooter at 1:11.
That is a stellar base drum section
Their talent is just so badass. Lifts my heart. These guys are more disciplined than the military! I was in the Army for 16 years!.
Yay! I love brazil, i love the percussion style down there. It's really fun to play.
Judges are just being real. There's probably so much that they see/hear that we don't.

I'm from in brazil and is my favorite drum corps
sound quality!
Anyone have this quad feature transcribed yet? Just that first lick...
QUADS!
best tenor line by far in dci
Oh god, I couldn't agree with you more
Still my favorite line every year even if the judges don't realize how good they are.
What're you talking about? Drew aged out in 2011. 2012, coats came in 2nd in perc. 2013 in 4th. They're doing just fine without him.
Amazing!

Tenors playing some unreal licks, and making it look easy... The rest of the line kicks ass too lol
Let's be honest. When Drew was on the line, Coats were either second or tieing for first in percussion. Sorry since he has left the line's intensity has gone down quiet a bit. But the same exact flow is still there.
agree 100% not to worried. its just gonna be different is all. he will be missed.
I seriously believe that the Bluecoats are underrated. Hate if you will.
and now i hit replay
Yeah dude, i agree.
Awesome
Грант Ваш Бомба 💖💝👍
In terms of scores, they're probably where they should be. They play cool stuff and they have a cool vibe but they're not as spotless and perfect as everyone likes to think they are.
totally agree with that
How so? It's certainly not worse, but I didn't think Drew brought it down. Have I missed something?
That tenor line!
he certainly will
Bad ass 💪
Are those the 8300 seris tenors??
Bluecoats Drum Placements... 2008- 3rd 2009- 4th 2010- 3rd 2011- 5th ....
Which leads me to my next point: What are you even talking about?
Damn 240p, still sounds great though!
Anyone know the their tuning scheme?
Hey Onye what sticks do you guys use? Thanks
replying to his post my help a faster reply
Thanks:-)

Nobody disagrees with you brother :)

but will they be the same without onye. . .
Очень круто!
The snares ghosted the very last note
SAVAGE
1:42 they got rid of the spock roll:(
Real wet quad tuning 🥵
Bagus
Чётко и классно👍✌
Because there’s too many notes for the style they are trying to play.
Api wkwk wkwk
Białe łabędzie
Lets be honest...this line is so much better without Drew Guy....sorry. haha
Buuuuuuhhhhh👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👍
